Fantastic experience: I was referred to The Shire Periodontics over three years ago and have been attending regular check-ups and cleans ever since. The level of care has been consistently excellent, and the doctors and staff are clearly highly skilled and professional. I always feel confident that my gum health is in very good hands. The practice is well run, welcoming, and the views across the Sydney CBD are a lovely added bonus. Highly recommended.

While the treatment is costly (as with any specialist health professional) it has been worth every cent. Dr Nima explained the issues and set out a planned program procedure for what he needed to do and over three months of intensive work on my gums and teeth he was able to get a good result and for me to be able maintain this level. Negative experience: My mother was a patient here. Her treating doctor Leo was subpar and the nurses were not receptive nor warm. For the price you pay to get treatment done here, definitely got ripped off. Would not recommend at all.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Shire Periodontics and Implant Institute by my dentist due to gum recession. Due to the invasive nature of periodontics, my already heightened anxiety of dental procedures and needles was elevated. Dr Max did the most invasive clean I have ever had, yet it was the most comfortable I have ever been during any dental procedure. My gums were numbed without really being aware of it and his use of surgical binoculars coupled with extremely steady hands and technique, allowed for no slips or painful prods. This was also the case during the examinations with no numbing. The experience has almost totally abated my anxiety of dental procedures to a level where I have no hesitation to attend again. Thanks Dr Max for taking the time and care to achieve a comfortable dental experience.

Fantastic experience: I had a gum graft at Shire Periodontics and the entire experience was so seamless and easy and the staff were extremely kind and professional. Doctor Kianoush has very gentle and caring presence and he is meticulous about his work. My graft went really well and I am so happy with how it healed and turned out. I was surprised to find I suffered almost no pain during recovery. I would be happy to return to this clinic in the future (hopefully I won't have to, but should I need more work done I know I will be in good hands!) Fantastic experience: I've been seeing Shire Periodontics for nearly 5 years now and I highly recommend them. The entire team are very welcoming, professional and make you feel at ease for what can sometimes be an uncomfortable experience. I also greatly appreciate the time they take to explain what they are doing and answer any of the questions I have along the way. Dr Nima even modified one of my treatments while I was pregnant as I was concerned around chemicals, without any judgement.

Fantastic experience: I started my Perio journey a couple of years ago when I need an implant. Unfortunately at the time I was suffering gingivitis. This had to be under control before any of my implant procedure could commence. Long story short, my implant was a success and my gingivitis has ceased. I have my deep cleans every 6 months to stay on top of it. All the staff are so beautiful, kind and caring..I highly recommend Shire Periodontics, they are so professional and have saved my teeth.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. Both my husband and me spend thousands attending this clinic, adhered to all instructions and appointments for which were drove over 2 hrs to attend , so I think our commitment was evident but due to a slight they assumed incorrectly at there end, our appointments were cancelled and neither my husband or me were ever again contacted or rescheduled. That's Ok, we will go elsewhere but rather unfair and unprofessional!

Negative experience: I found him to be more interested in my wallet than my oral health. If you're being asked to spend thousands definitely get a second opinion. * two things: 1) yes, I was looking for my third periodontist as my first was extremely rude, my second was great but was in the city and it was too much trouble so I was looking for someone closer. 2) I have found a great periodontist: Michael Bannon at Miranda, I highly recommend him.

Fantastic experience: I, like many others I’m sure, find dental appointments a necessary and frightening evil, and definitely not something to look forward to. Even worse for me, when a change of dentist flagged I had some gum problems to deal with, it meant additional visits to another dentist...oh dear! However, having chosen to use Shire Periodontics, I have to say that Nima and his team have made it an almost pleasant experience. Everyone involved took note of my fears, and tried hard to make each visit as bearable as possible for me, no doubt taking extra time to explain each step on my journey, and allowing my wife to sit in just in case I was getting ready to cut and run for it! If you need this sort of treatment, look no further, especially if you live within reasonable distance of Miranda...I very much recommend Nima and his team.
