Fantastic experience: I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out under general anesthetic by Dr David Willis at Chatswood Private Hospital. The whole process from booking in the initial appointment to the post-op follow up appointment was very smooth. The admin staff was courteous and proactive. It was easy having discussions with Dr Willis about the procedure and he regularly gave opportunities for me to ask questions. Dr Gabriel Chong was my anesthetist and he was friendly and answered any questions I had. I was expecting a lot of pain and swelling post-operatively given the experiences of people I knew, but I had no pain at all! I had some swelling in the lower jaw but it was minor and lasted for half a week. Thank you very much to Dr Willis and team!

Fantastic experience: Just to start, I’m really scared of dental procedures. The thought of having to go to a periodontist horrified me. I’m so glad my dentist referred me to Dr Patty Chou and her team. She is warm, caring and kind and understanding in the face of a terrified patient. She is also very patient and ensures you understand what needs to happen and gentle when it’s happening. She also has a good sense of humour. Today she had me laughing in the chair, something I never would have imagined. It’s easy to feel things are out of your control when 2 people have their hands in your mouth, but I trust Dr Chou completely and highly recommend her and her team.

Positive experience: I had 2 teeth extracted recently by Dr Willis. The whole procedure was explained clearly beforehand and the teeth were removed skilfully. At the follow up Dr Willis was patient and clarified many of my concerns. Fantastic experience: Dr David Willis is truly an export in the area. He is very professional and caring which made all the difference. And I would recommend all my friends to him for wisdom teeth removal or dental surgery. I was referred to Dr Willis by my dentist after an unsuccessfully wisdom tooth removal which the surgery only got the top part (crown) of my wisdom tooth removed. I was in pain and my dentist couldn’t get the roots removed after 1.5 hours. So, he referred me to Dr Willis as my situation was quite complicated. After I reached out to Dr Willis by phone, he immediately scheduled a checkup session for me the next day (Saturday) which was not his normal schedule, and he has provided a lot of valuable advice to help me for the recovery before his next surgery. Finally, he performed the surgery and successfully removed 3 roots of my wisdom tooth, and the whole process was quick and painless. And my recovery was quick as well because he has cleaned up all the parts which were causing the issues. I am really happy with the result and wished that I had came to Dr Willis in the first place. He is truly wonderful!

Fantastic experience: I had 4 wisdom teeth taken out under general anaesthesia and the surgery and post-surgery healing went smoothly. Prices were very fair (I am still a university student) and the initial consultation and all post-surgery appointments have been free of charge. Dr Willis was great at explaining the procedure and making me feel comfortable. Unluckily I had a temporary nerve stretch injury as a result of the surgery (these things happen out of no fault of the surgeon) but Dr Willis has been very helpful and responsive (responding to calls out of business hours). He has scheduled follow-up appointments weeks and also months post-surgery to make sure the nerve is healing well. I highly recommend Toothsome if you need to get your wisdom teeth out!

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr David Willis after being told by my dentist I had an infected wisdom tooth that needed to be removed. During the consultation, Dr Willis said he wasn't convinced there was an infection and suggested I might want to try and save the tooth. He went through all the possibilities carefully with me, explaining clearly risks and options, and gave me the information I need to make an informed decision. Many surgeons might have just recommended taking the tooth out because it's easy money, but Dr Willis was straight forward about what he would do if it was his tooth, even when it might have lost him business! His honesty and willingness to take the time to explain my options was very impressive and much appreciated. Dr Willis will be my first point of call for any future work.

Fantastic experience: Initially went in for a consultation as my wisdom teeth case had to be assessed by an oral surgeon. Dr. Willis was thorough in explaining the procedure and potential risks but at the same time was reassuring. After a severe tooth ache from my wisdom tooth, he fit me in quickly, reviewed my scans, talked through the procedure and took two of my wisdom teeth out in the chair. Excellent local anaesthetic made it a completely pain free procedure. He called the following day to check up on me and gave me clear post-op instructions. I had minimal post operative pain and swelling and am forever grateful to him for his excellent work. Cannot recommend him highly enough.

Fantastic experience: On my last visit to the dentist, I found out I had 4 impacted wisdom teeth and a dentigerous cyst close to the nerve which had to be removed ASAP. I knew my search for a good oral surgeon was over the moment I went in for my initial consultation. I needed additional x-rays and Dr David Willis took the time to do the legwork with finding me a bulk-billing imaging centre in my area (I travelled from Southern Sydney) so I wouldn't be out of pocket. That to me showed trustworthiness and a genuine interest in working with his patients. Fast forward to the day and the procedure went smoothly. I went home pain-free and was eating normally again within a week. What sets a good surgeon apart from the rest is how easy it is to contact them and the sense of responsibility they demonstrate AFTER the surgery; treatment doesn't always finish on the same day. I had no issues contacting Dr Willis with questions and he would respond in a reasonable time, whether it was on a weekday or the weekend. Admittedly, I am not an easy patient and get anxious when dentists reach into my mouth but Dr Willis' calm and patient demeanour put me at ease and I knew I was in the best hands. It was worth the travel to see him. Dr Willis has been removing tens of wisdom teeth each week for the past 15 or so years. He is extremely knowledgeable and has a genuine passion for his work. He is genuine, trust worthy, reassuring, communicates effectively through every detail, intelligent and highly skilled. I had four wisdom teeth removed and his service was exceptional. He removed them perfectly with an eye for detail and caution. I’m in barely any pain or discomfort and I feel better post surgery. His just so pleasant to deal with, I trusted him from the moment I met him. He is very talented and specialises in his field of work as he loves what he does. I wouldn’t recommend anybody else and I’ve heard many horror stories about other dental surgeons. So thankful I went with Dr Willis from toothsome.
