We cannot find a record of your appointment, however a merchant fee is applicable to all card payments. This is clearly signposted at our practice and cash options to pay would avoid this and are also available.

When I called to make an appointment, Katie was really helpful and provided excellent customer service, explaining upfront expenses, the rebate, and making sure I understood the steps involved. The waiting room was extremely crowded. It is obvious how popular this clinic is, given its prime location and pleasant helpful staff; the facility is spotless, pristine, and comfy; Gabrielle performed my X-ray. In order to expedite the process, she was courteous, timely, and provided clear instructions. Andrew, who performed my ultrasound, was very professional, kind, and honest about my injury, which I appreciated since I was worried about the "worst case scenario." Fantastic experience: I had a coronary CT angiogram today at the Martin Place branch. This test needed a bit of preparation which was explained clearly when I had my booking confirmed. The front desk staff were all so lovely. I met Rana who performed the scan. She was just so lovely and professional. Everything was explained nicely. She would only acquire the images when heart rate was optimal so the picture quality was good. Most people would feel a bit anxious when having medical tests. With lovely and professional staff, they can make the whole experience much more positive.

Negative experience: Had a really uncomfortable experience with a male ultrasound technician. I followed up with an email to the team leader who I spoke to in person but they never got back to me or even acknowledged my complaint. I would say this is not a clinic that respects women's safety.

Fantastic experience: This was one of the most positive of experiences I could have time during a period of great pain and stress. From the moment I spoke to Madison on the phone who was empathetic, caring and detailed in her discussion with me, through to the welcome in their spacious COVID safe, light filled location to the care and attention of radiographers Robert and Eve, I could not have had a more positive experience. Everyone explained everything with clarity about what to expect. I had two tests on this visit - the first a CT scan and the second a DEXA bone density scan. This was followed up the following week with an MRI. I was offered all three on the same day to save me travelling which was very thoughtful. AMAZING to listen to Spotify - I had ear plugs in and had the most glorious music which was wonderfully distracting! They also have a truly beautiful drone image from above Bronte Pool so the moment you enter the room you feel it is not a "medical". experience but a more caring experience. It calmed me down as did seeing the image as I entered the MRI. Reminders about breathing were helpful. As I was in huge pain despite massive painkillers, everyone was empathetic, patient and attentive. I was also concerned about the various costs and charges, and what would be covered by medicare and health funds etc. I was able to have all questions answered prior to attending, and also explained very clearly on the day. Paperwork was well designed and not too extensive. Tick for that. To say this was enjoyable may sound odd, but it's a great experience. I first attended this company in 2015 and it's been consistently of the highest quality of review and service. Upside is being so close to Martin Place railway station, also the light rail so easy access if in pain or with difficulty in walking. It also has a fabulous cafe next door so good to get your bearings on the way out and get some outdoor sunshine. Thank you to everyone at City X-ray.
Fantastic experience: Had an MRI here and was impressed by the cleanliness and appearance of the practice and the professionalism of the staff. Receptionist was friendly and welcoming, MRI tech was warm and made me feel at ease about the scan. I was taken 5 mins after scheduled appt time of 8am. I was given headphones to block out some of the noise of the MRI and was happily enjoying some classical music bangers. Then Clair de lune by Debussy (which is a goddamn masterpiece) is interrupted by an ad for Metamucil! I was almost nodding off and was startled by hearing a voice in my ears I thought something was wrong with the test and the tech was talking to me. Seriously City Xray I think you can shell out for Spotify premium considering a lot MRIs (including mine $295) are not covered by Medicare. Psss its only $13.95 a month and probably a business expense! Be the change in the world you want to see! They also charge 1% for card payments. Also cool domain name must have been an early register back in the day.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this for a pelvic ultrasound. Their facilities are not good and do not allow a safe and secure platform where there should be any physical contact between the sonographer and the patient. Compared to other ultrasound that I had, here in CitiXray, the process is very inconvenient for the patient. They will put a platform under your bum (which is uncomfortable) while lying down and the machine is placed just beside the bed which causes the body/hands of the physician touching the patient’s legs. The room is so small and there is no toilet inside. I recommend a more sophisticated chair or bed to protect the patient & prevent physical contact. My experience was not great because I was expecting a female sonographer will do the procedure. Whilst it was a female, she said she’s a student and that her supervisor will come in later to check the photos. I was surprised to see that the supervisor is a male (who smells like he just got back from smoking). He was also rude and forced me not to take a break (to not move to get clearer photos) even though I was already uncomfortable with the procedure. I thought the sonographer have taken all necessary shots but the supervisor did it again which made me feel uncomfortable! I’m not sure if this is the policy of the company to always have a supervisor checking someone’s work. It loses the credibility of the procedure and that a student should not be allowed to perform something she’s not fully trained of!! Most of all, by default ONLY FEMALE sonographer should perform pelvic xrays for WOMEN!!!

Negative experience: Never coming back. Unlike everyone here, reception was the best thing about this place. The guy I saw was insensitive and blunt and may have worsened my injury (he pulled on my feet to position me better - I have a torn achilles). He made a joke after the assessment that I shouldn’t play soccer anymore and to play chess instead which was highly insensitive. Never coming back (plus accessibility is bad for ppl with major physical injuries).

Fantastic experience: Had a challenging IV insertion my first visit (I have troublesome veins) and was able to rebook with a specialist for today, but as a result was very nervous. Both the Dr who helped find a vein and Lorraine for my CT were so friendly, patient and put me at ease. I was explained everything happening and what I could expect. My post-visit care was explained to me and I felt confident finishing my day taking care of myself. The facilities and staff are clean and professional and I would not hesitate to choose this location again for any future medical testing/imaging needs. Thank you for taking care of me!!

Fantastic experience: Both the receptionist and radiographer were exceptional. Super professional and nice.
Negative experience: One of the worst imaging practices I have been to. The receptionist lost my referral that I had handed over and were not apologetic nor did they had an accommodating tone whilst they tried to sort it out. Also, the receptionist who answered my initial call to make the two ultrasound appointments was rushy in giving me information and in trying to find a time that worked for me. Will not recommend this practice, there are a lot more options in the city.

Negative experience: Rude receptionist who shouldn’t be working in customer environment . Didn’t like to be questioned about information received from my insurance company and was abrupt and clearly had no patience to seek first to understand the question. Needs to understand that not everyone knows the system clearly. Perhaps needs to be working where she isn’t patient facing or answering phones. The rest of the team friendly and polite.
Fantastic experience: Took mum/dad in for the 2nd time for their scans and MRI. Excellent place with reasonableness. Reception staffs are very friendly and professional. Would return in the future. These days, some other places probably don't realise that people have a choice, and if they aim longer prosperity, they need to do what City Xray does!

Negative experience: Paid around $300 for an MRI of my knee. Asked for an urgent report as I was going away. Was told that would only be 1-2 days. After endless follow up calls, the report was sent to my Dr over a week later. Meanwhile, I hobbled around in pain!

Fantastic experience: I was a little concerned about the reviews but I think sometimes people mistake attitude for professionalism. The doctors and receptionists are not there to chit chat. They try to get you in and out as fast as possible performing their duties. Had an appointment at 10 and it's now 10.23 and I got my MRI done and just waiting for the CD to be burnt. Exactly what I would expect from a X-ray place.

Negative experience: Lovely front staff and young woman who did the ultrasound - but the doctor who came in to do the biopsy was ludicrous bordering on a monty python skit. Completely unprofessional the whole thyroid biopsy was traumatic done without any anaesthetic. Three needles stabbed into my neck while he was making dracula jokes. The worse news today was that there was insufficient cells to be able to give a result so I have to have it done again to find out if I have thyroid cancer. So not only traumatic, unprofessional also inadequate.

Negative experience: Reception staff were rude as anything and just seemed more bothered that I was even existing and were more interested in talking out loud about complaints they had received at other locations than to help me. I'm not surprised to be honest. The guy was fine but the girl who served me was a mooooooole and a half. 10/10 do not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I recently needed to do 3 types of X-ray last Thursday. The staff are friendly and helpful, as that my first did Xray. So the staff explained to me that I need to take out my necklace for scans and I did. But after finished the scans the staff asked me to changing clothes in another room but I forgot that I still put my necklace on the green stuff near the chair. I just realised yesterday which is the place was close on the weekend. I do email and provide pictures. Please let me know if any staff found it. Thank you, I’m really appreciate it.

Negative experience: A very brief apology from city x-ray does not make up for being unnecessarily charged double for an MRI. Never again will I go to there, even my Dr agreed that I had been overcharged. I was told by phone my hip/hamstring MRI was covered by Medicare but when it was finished I get billed $590.00. I also did not realise before the appointment it was 2 separate MRIs ( even though this was not necessary) with two fees and according to the person at reception Hip MRIs are not by covered Medicare but this is not true. When I had enquired at Castlereagh imaging they told me the total payment would have been $190. I went to city x-ray as it was closer but have learned my lesson and will never go there again. The star is for the person doing the MRI who was great but the receptionist I dealt with not at all friendly or helpful.

Positive experience: *Edit- changed from 1 star to 3 as they called to discuss my feedback which was appreciated.* Terrible discrimination and poor service from the receptionists. (The actual medical staff were great). Receptionist insisted on taking payment from *some* patients *before* actual service had been provided, rude abrupt receptionist beckoned me over like a dog. I was shocked. Then receptionist didn’t complete my paperwork in time and I was waiting for an extremely long time while other people arriving *after* me got to go before me.

Negative experience: This place is a rip off. They charge $280 for 3D dental X-ray while Quantum Radiology charges $120 and I had GP referral letter so Medicare covers all and I didn’t have to pay anything. It also takes them 4-5 days for the result while Quantum gave me the results after 20 mins same day . Imagine I have wisdom teeth pain and have to wait 5 days for the result ?? Luckily I asked them before going ahead with them .

Positive experience: Good service staff nice but plain x ray was expensive ($85 only $34 covered by Medicare) and don’t offer digital access to x rays or reports. Some places give you free fully Medicare funded x rays. It’s archaic in this day and age not being able to access your own results online all radiology practices should be required to provide these to patients especially when you’re paying for the service.

Fantastic experience: I recently needed to do 3 types of scans on different parts of my lower limbs, the clinic was able to book me in to have all 3 done at the same appointment, I didn't have to wait long between the scans, the process was smooth and organised, the staff was friendly and helpful. The only little troublesome thing was that now you have to email a copy or photo of your doctor's referral to them before they can book you in, previously I just needed to call them.

Negative experience: 1 star purely for the attitude and efficiency of reception staff. I called early in the morning regarding biopsy services. Reception staff is not helpful at all, rushing talking very fast (I have to ask her to slow down) and asking for some weird details while all I required was availability and estimated general cost. She didn’t really listen to find what I need before giving information. Instead she was just like a machine, giving command do this and do that, asking for further details etc. I understand it helps somehow, but after all she couldn’t answer me the general information I need and I end up with nothing. Later I call to the same City Xray Haymarket location, the reception girl there was very kind, patient, and listened to what I asked. She gave me information I need, and then told me it was estimated and if I could give her more details she can check with the doctor to have correct answer. All was clear and pleasant to deal with.

Fantastic experience: Short waiting time and great care. I came to get an ultrasound and was taken care of by Falguni and Dr. Bako, both of then were absolutely wonderful. I honestly didn’t expect, but truly appreciated, the attention and care that I received from them. It wasn’t the normal get you in and shove you out experience. I wasn’t even there to see Dr Bako, but because of something Falguni noted on the ultrasound, she took the time to consult him and he then took the time to contact my doctor and organise a CT scan on the same day. He then took time to explain the results when they came out. Tommy who did the CT scan was great also. Great experience and would recommend.

Positive experience: I was able to book an appt a few days after phoning-yay! Upon arriving the wait wasn't too long-yay! The staff was friendly-yay! 4 stars "only" bc considering I was getting an internal pelvic ultrasound, the lady was a bit rough (pressing on my stomach without telling she was going to which was just uncomfortable and a bit scary). While I was lying on the bed, she opened the door and there was a man who needed to coordinate his lunch break with her. The interaction was short but I thought he could have waited until she was done. Also I didn't even hear him knock. After she left the room and it was my time to get dressed, she walked back into the room without knocking. Luckily I was dressed by then, phew!
Negative experience: I was booked in for an Ultrasound here and was running late so i called to let them know. Upon arrival i was asked who exactly i had spoken to as the receptionist seemed very doubtful i had phoned. I overheard her very rudely say to the girl she was training, that she didn't know if i had called or not. I work in medical myself so i understand the nature of people turning up late but i had called and was only 5 mins late! The lady who performed my ultrasound was rather brash and didn't explain anything that she was doing and made me feel very uncomfortable as i was having a pelvic ultrasound which was invasive anyway. My entire experience was below sub par from beginning to end just because i was a few minutes late. Will not be coming back here again.

Negative experience: Was told $200 for CT cone beam when registering, ending up charging me $290 after the scan. Medicare only rebates $96. Also, the receiptionist assured that I can claim the rest back with Medibank, the item number is not even cover by them. Would not have done it at city X-ray if been told the actual price and the correct information at the beginning. The practice is giving false information to patients to gain $$ or the receiptionist is being shady.

Fantastic experience: Lovely staff all around. I had my first visit there today and it was great to see that even in a busy imaging business like this, everyone was still smiling and looked happy to be at work. Also, I really REALLY appreciated the ease with which I was able to modify my patient record so that it didn't say 'Mr' or anything before my name. This might seem like a small thing, but to a lot of people like me who don't identify with a binary gender it's really important to be able to remove titles such as this from our names. It's usually a struggle, met with rolled eyes, an insistence it can't be done, or being told you HAVE to have a title. So I very much appreciated the easy, matter of fact way my request was dealt with. Thank you for being decent humans. I would recommend this business based on the totality of my experience today. Friendly imaging staff. Friendly reception staff. Good, clean, modern facilities.

Fantastic experience: I have been to City XRay Macquarie Street many times over the years. My most recent visit was in September 2018 to undergo tests for a breast lump which turned into a breast cancer diagnosis. The day the Dr was doing my biopsy at City XRay he had obviously seen something on the prior mammogram and ultrasound that concerned him enough to call me in earlier for a number of other tests. The surgeon later said nothing she saw on the original mammogram would have concerned her enough to progress further so it was sheer luck that the Dr at City XRay saw my scans that day and such a good eye for detection. I spent an incredibly difficult few hours at City XRay undergoing 3 different tests to be told that day that it was ‘highly probable’ I had cancer. I was on my own that day as it started out to be what should have just been a routine biopsy turned into one of the worst days I've experienced. The care and compassion all staff from receptionists to the different people doing each test that day was absolutely outstanding. Their kindness and caring nature has stuck in my head ever since and I wanted to take the time to thank them and write a review here.

Positive experience: Had a back x-ray per a referral from my Osteo. The film did not show the area of the vertebrate requested, it was cut off right where she needed to diagnose. She had to call in 2 times to get more info. Apparently the usual technician was out and they were using a sub?

Fantastic experience: A very smooth and professional experience. I sent an online enquiry for a booking this morning, got a call back within 30 mins, set up my appointment later that day, and was seen right on time. The radiographer who did my scan was lovely and did a great job, and the reception staff were helpful too. All in all a good experience, I'd definitely use them again.

Fantastic experience: Hi All, This review is based on only one visit. I was @ City XRAY – Macquarie St. and hat a great experience. I booked an appointment in advance becuase I came for an ultrasound and x-ray. Everyone from receptionist to doctors were very friendly and helpful. Waiting time was almost none adn it went all very quick without delays. X-rays and ultrasounds handed over right away + sent to doctor via email. No need to pay, just provide Medicare card. 5/5 stars for sure!

Negative experience: Not great. Check in and scan itself was all pretty efficient. Then they gave me a CD-ROM (!) with the images on them to take to my doctor. Not a single person I know has a computer with CD drive in 2018, including in my office, so I can't view the images. Previously when I've had scans, they get uploaded to the cloud. Called up to ask if there were any other options, there weren't, which is their business decision and fair enough I guess. But then I was told the images are too big to load to cloud (I'm sure this cannot be true in 2018 - if it is on a CD it can certainly be uploaded) and was summarily dismissed for (very politely) suggesting it might be a good business idea for them to look at adding in the future. So a mixed experience.

Since 2008, City XRay has had the facility to provide referring doctors online access to images and reports (as well as emailed reports prior to 2008). Both of these methods exceed the stringent confidentiality requirements of City XRay with respect to patient records.

Negative experience: Called this place twice for an appointment. The person who answer the call was rude. Appointment last longer than I was told. I end up getting $183 fine for my parking. The radiologist was really nice though. I recommend going to another place or go to their Haymarket branch. I been there 3 times. Way better service.

Positive experience: Very poor. Told the wait would be 10 minutes with one person ahead. 40 minutes later was still waiting. Papers seemed to have gone astray. When advised was just told, “this is walk-in, since you arrived 10 more have walked in”. Silly excuse. Will not be returning - not just because of the wait but the attitude!

Negative experience: THE WORST MEDICAL SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD Went in for a basic MRI. After paying $300 for the MRI I was told the results would be 3 days (other places do it in a day or two, but they were nearby and as I couldn’t walk this was important) After four days of not being able to walk i rang up to see where the results were. Apparently mine weren't urgent, as i had been moved down the queue for urgent cases. Apparently not being able to walk is not urgent. After six days i rang again and was told they hadn't been analysed yet, with pathetic apologies from the practice manager. Only when i asked the CEO for my money back did they actually get around to doing the analysis, more than 7 days after my visit. It may take longer to get to another imaging place, but it is worth the effort. Responding to the CEO below The price did not reflect the service given, and is no different to other places around the east I came in at 8am on a Tuesday. I was told three days to get the report. That obviously reflected the urgency of my case as other places can get a result out in a day. After four days you still hadn’t done anything Then after seven days you still hadn’t done anything. My report went to my doctor OVER A WEEK AFTER I FOOLISHLY ENTERED YOUR DOORS and only after asking for my money back
I have taken your comments and feedback on board and rest assured, all feedback, being positive or negative, is taken seriously.

The priority of the report is assigned at the time the imaging is undertaken and based on the referral; -
and
the price of $300.00 is approximately 20% of the recommended AMA rate.
