Fantastic experience: A very great experience with Dr Toy. As a University of Melbourne student, I really admired how much Dr Toy has experience and knowledge about skin, genetics, different cultural backgrounds. She also was very patient which you wouldn’t see from many doctors. I have went to multiple other clinics and wasted dozens but at her clinic which I believe she owns it as well, she absolutely put her %100 and you will not waste anything, not your time or money for visiting such a knowledgeable doctor. Negative experience: I had an excellent dermatologist I was seeing here initially and the reception had been friendly and assisting which is why I continued to travel an hour to get here. Last time I visited, it was a terrible experience. First, I rescheduled my appointment to a slot only 15 minutes earlier than my initial time as I had meetings scheduled through the day however they were late and I was taken in a whole 20 minutes after my appointment time, beating the purpose of the rescheduling entirely. I was then seen in a rush, no proper care and no thorough check ins as my usual dermatologist does. Extremely disappointing, especially when this 10 minute appointment cost around $300 only for them to refill a prescription. My medicare rebate was also not processed and I had to manually do this through medicare.

Fantastic experience: I came in to talk to Dr Harini Bala about rosacea and ingrown hairs on my neck. The ingrown hair problem has plagued me ever since I started shaving. I tried so many things that didn’t work…I eventually gave up and just started trimming my neck, which isn’t great but at least prevents the ingrown hairs. Dr Bala recommended an exfoliant product that, to my complete astonishment, actually fixed the problem. I am shocked and thrilled…it’s been a month now of regular neck shaving and no ingrown hairs. I’ve also noticed significant improvements already in skin redness…all this after just one visit. I wish I would have seen her much, much sooner!

Fantastic experience: I had the resurfacing Alma laser treatment at Lyla shortly after its grand opening and loved my experience. I chose Lyla because I wanted to try the Alma laser which, to my knowledge, not many other clinics in Australia have. As you can see on their social media page, the space is absolutely stunning and felt like an oasis with an earthy and comfortable yet luxurious vibe that provided me the mood to relax before and after my treatment. The cosmetic physician Dr Tan and my dermal therapists Viona and Kristen were exceptionally friendly and professional. I could tell that they are experienced and well trained even if the clinic had just been opened, and they were very knowledgeable about the products and the technology they use. Having Alma laser treatment was at first daunting as I have not had an invasive laser treatment before but I was assured about the expected benefits and was consulted throughly about what to expect afterwards. The treatment was performed very smoothly and was pain free. It has now been two months and I am overall very happy with my result. The post-procedure skin care products they provided me were very effective in helping the healing process. I can feel considerable improvement in my skin texture and tone. The glow is crazy - not like what I’ve experienced with just regular facials! I would consider having Alma laser treatment again in the future and would definitely return to Lyla for that.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic clinic! I grew up with freckles and didn’t have an issue with them till my 20s when the hyperpigmentation started to look more like ageing spots instead. Tried all sorts of creams the last 7 years but nothing like this. I am shocked by the amazing results. This is 3 weeks post laser from just one session!!! I was warned that the co2 laser (alma machine) was gonna be painful but I couldn’t tell as my face was pretty numb from the numbing cream - so glad the procedure was pain free. Followed the aftercare advice and the recovery was very smooth going especially after the LED session that sped up the healing process. Kudos to the warm staff at LYLA and the fantastic team (kirsten, viona and dr meily) for treating my stubborn pigments!
