Specialist Dentistry is a specialist dental practice on the Gold Coast, complete with modern technology, patient comforts and an efficient, caring and dedicated team.
Our goal is to ensure that the moment your patient walks through the door they are aware they have been sent to a practice that will support their treatment needs. We are here to guide patients and provide the utmost specialist dental care to all patients who walk through our door.
We are located in the Carrara Village Shopping Centre along Manchester Road. The building is located on the outside of the centre with customer parking available.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with Specialist Dentistry GC for two reasons. 1) Although the specialist was friendly, the initial appointment felt rushed, which left me unsettled as I am already anxious about dental visits. 2) What concerned me most was the lack of support around accessing my superannuation to pay for treatment. I was initially directed to a third-party paid service, but when I chose to apply on my own, I was told it was against the clinic’s policy because “patients had misused funds in the past.” This felt very inappropriate and unfair, as it denied me a right granted by the government under the “compassionate release” scheme for critical medical treatments like mine. I was not expecting to have to stand up for my honesty in such a vulnerable moment. In the end, I decided not to proceed with treatment.

We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience at Specialist Dentistry did not meet your expectations, particularly given the understandable anxiety that can accompany dental visits. We regret that you felt the initial appointment was rushed.

With regard to your concerns about accessing superannuation for treatment, we’d like to offer some clarification.
We fully support patients who wish to apply for the compassionate release of superannuation to fund essential dental care. To ensure the process is handled appropriately and responsibly, our practice has a policy in place that requires a deposit to be paid before reports are released and appointments booked. This policy is designed to maintain the integrity of the process, based on our experience with prior applications, and is in no way a reflection on any individual patient's intentions or character.
We understand that navigating these processes during an already stressful time can be challenging, and we're sorry that our approach made you feel unsupported. Your feedback highlights an important opportunity for us to better communicate the reasons behind our policies with greater empathy and clarity.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been to this place on a few occasions. The first couple were to see Periodontist Dr Anthony. He was really great. Unfortunately he has retired (must be nice to retire in your 30’s/40’s!). They have not found a replacement Periodontist yet which is a bit disappointing and I hope that they find someone good soon. Yesterday I saw Leonor the Dental Hygienist. Although she has an extremely thick accent, I found her to be very thorough and professional and was always attentive to me making sure I was ok. The admin staff have always been extremely pleasant and kind. I would definitely recommend this business.

Fantastic experience: I was booked in for the wrong procedure even after telling them what I required. I Waa unable to any procedure due to this error. I am now waiting for another dentist to contact me fir when they can fit me in.

Fantastic experience: Coming here was probably the best financial decision I have ever made. The process was explained to me in simple terms I could understand, and Dr Anthony was just so lovely. Over the years I have only just begun to trust dentists because I've had a few doozy ones, but Dr Anthony isn't one of them. I would also like to thank the admin ladies for being so patient with me especially when I was late for my first session. Thank you for a wonderful experience. PS I did end up buying a Stanley cup :)

Fantastic experience: I found Anthony to be a wonderful dentist. He did a great job removing my damaged tooth and installing an implant. He was thorough and patient and kind. Evie the dental nurse does a great job. She is down to earth and happy to chat and puts you at ease. Tash at the front desk takes an interest in all of the patients and is very approachable while at the same time being super organised and professional. The billing process was well managed and transparent, I was given a breakdown of all the costs upfront. A couple of the visits I had for the different stages of the work were free of charge, which was very refreshing. They passed me back to my regular dentist once the specialist work had been done, which saved me some money. I highly recommend them.

Negative experience: Had 2 consultations and was ghosted. Never received my quotation after following up with phones calls. Extremely disappointed as I was given hope that they were going to help me with my teeth. Unprofessional to say the least.

Fantastic experience: Dr Anthony is the best I've visited twice and he's always been very professional and knowledgeable. He was my first dentist on the coast starting in Tree Top clinic then I followed him in Emerald Lakes and now my new dentist referred me to him.
