Fantastic experience: I should have written a review about my dentist a very long time ago, I write heaps about products, never thought to write one about a person.! I've been going to my dentist, Dr. Joseph Shohmelian for some considerable time. He and his team have treated me like royalty and have been so very considerate and understanding with my dental issues. His expertise is exceptional, "second-to-none", and I can highly recommend him, his practice and service. He has a wonderful team working with him. I have carried on using Dr Shohmelian even after I moved to the Blue Mountains. It is well worth the long trip.

Fantastic experience: We had a medical emergency, where my son had fallen over and broken quite badly, his teeth in the front of his mouth. Shannon and the practice was very very sympathetic to his and his parents needs. They displayed such professionalism and provided good advice and follow-up. Fantastic experience: I first visited Dr Shohmelian in 1998 (22yrs ago). i had a bad cavity in a wisdom tooth, which should have meant i'd lose the tooth. the original fix is still perfectly good all these years later. I had 2 fillings before this time, but none at all since. his suggested treatment of filling of natural micro-cracks with resin has prevented them. I've been seeing him exclusively, at least yearly ever since. even when working overseas i timed return visits to Sydney to line up with my appointments. I've recommended friends who had trauma from childhood dental treatments, and they've been able to overcome the fear. best medical practitioner I've ever seen.

Fantastic experience: Have been patient of Dr Joe for some 34 years, extraction, implant, crown, etc. Incredibly patient and caring, both the Dr and his team who've been there 20+ years, says something. But the Dr has been trolled by 2 anonymous cowards. I travel from Blackheath to attend, would never do so if the Dr wasn't most professional and trustworthy. May he live forever!!!

Fantastic experience: It doesn't surprise me at all to read how Dr. Shohmelian has developed such a loyal following of patients. I've been a patient for about 25 years and I have nothing but admiration for his work and the wonderful team who support him. I've presented quite a few dental challenges over the years and not once have I been disappointed with the outcome. A combination of great dental skills combined with a brilliantly engaging style certainly keeps me coming back.

Fantastic experience: I have been a client of Dr Shohmelian for over 15 years. His care and service is second to none. I moved away from the area and tried local dentists but none compared. My entire family now travel a significant distance for his service. His team are exceptional and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caring and professional dental service.

Fantastic experience: My wife (mainly as I have been slack with my dental ) has been going to Dr Shohmelian for close to 30 years and has had nothing but the most understanding, professional service over that time, especially when she was a single mother. When I had visited him he has always explained any procedure and monitored potential problems. He has never gone into any expensive treatment because it could 'possibly' be a problem and his 'chair-side' manner is very gentle and reassuring. Michael B's review seems very harsh and totally out of character with any experience my wife or I have had with the Dr, which beggars the question, how does Michael B's other dentist know so much about Dr Shohmelian?? To balance, ALL, reviews, good or bad on Google or social media, should be taken with a grain of salt, but I can assure you, this reviewer is genuine.

Fantastic experience: I started seeing Joe about 27 years ago for my dental work and over the years my wife, 2 daughters and their partners became patients, as well as friends I have referred to him. I always enjoy seeing Joe, Shannon & Jenny when I have my yearly visit; why do I see Joe when there are probably 25 dental practices between where I live in Kirribilli and where he is in Chatswood? It's very simple: he is a great dental surgeon, I trust him implicitly and he is a lovely person.

Fantastic experience: Where do I start? My last visit to Dr Joe was on Wednesday 11th November 19. Joe has been my Dentist for most of my adult life (I'm currently 70yo). I have just seen a couple of really disparaging comments about Joe's abilities and was so incensed that I felt compelled to respond. Whoever these faceless people are, it is very obvious they have never been in his practice, never been treated by him, probably never met him professionally. It upsets me how easily it is for cowards to tarnish a person's reputation. It is obvious there is a person/s who would benefit professionally and financially if Joe was not in practice. Why? Because they wouldn't come close to being able to provide the service, knowledge, care, understanding, and professionalism provided by Joe. Therefore, by hoping his practice was no longer there, they could swoop in. It wouldn't take long before people woke up to their scam but in the meantime they would have fleeced the unsuspecting. As far as I'm concerned, and his many many very happy clients, we have no intention of believing the rubbish these couple of people have written and they should be made to prove that they actually had been treated by Joe, otherwise their review posts should be deleted by Google Reviews. Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing doctor Joseph Shohmelian for about five years, I’m 72 and although I’ve had many dentists in the past I found him the best I’ve had. Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr Joseph for over 20 years since moving from London. My whole family see him now including my wife who's been with him for 18+ years and our two children for over 10+ years. His care, knowledge, understanding and communication on our dental care has been faultless every single time. And his staff from front to back are also so professional and caring. Even though we live on the opposite side of Sydney for the last 10 years, none of us want to go anywhere else - so we travel an hour to see him. He's that good! Enough said really.

Fantastic experience: Dr Shohmelian has been my dentist since my husband, 2 small children and I relocated back to Sydney in 1994. I was originally referred to him by a friend because I had pain following, what I suspected was a poor quality root canal treatment done in the UK. He assessed me very carefully and agreed that this was the issue and immediately referred me on to a specialist in this area who was able to re-do the root canal treatment successfully. I have had no subsequent issues since. I continue to be cared for by Dr Shohmelian because I have complete confidence that he will correctly treat any dental issue in his scope of practice and will refer on to the appropriate specialist when required. He provides a holistic approach to his care and I am fortunate that, because of my yearly check ups and dental hygiene advice from Dr Shohmelian, I very rarely need to be seen more frequently.

Fantastic experience: I have been a long term patient of Dr Shohmelian since I was 4 years old, I am now 28. Despite having private health insurance that would allow me to go to the health funds bulk billing dentist, I continue to see Dr Shohmelian yearly for my check ups because he is the only dentist I trust. Most people are apprehensive visiting the dentist even for a yearly check up but Dr Shohmelian and his staff are fantastic at making you feel comfortable and safe. He explains everything very clearly and in my experience never over services. He provides good practical advice to ensure I maintain good dental health and consequently, I believe, this has contributed to me not requiring any significant dental work. I would highly recommend him to anyone, especially if they have had a bad experience with a dentist previously.

Fantastic experience: Like many of the reviewers for this site, all of our family members have been patients of Dr Shohmelian for over twenty years, having first consulted him on the recommendation of a neighbour. Dr Shohmelian and his staff have provided exemplary service to our family over that time. He is a very consultative dentist who always explains the options and the respective results before embarking on any course of treatment. He always errs on the side of less invasive treatments and never undertakes work unless it is completely necessary. If you are looking for a reliable, caring and thoroughly professional practitioner I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Fantastic experience: I was referred to Dr Shohmelian 37 years ago, with my teeth in a bad state. It took a lot of dedication, time, effort and pain to eventually be able to eat, talk and smile normally again. I now have the knowledge and drive to look after my teeth and this is all thanks to Joe and his team.

Fantastic experience: I found Dr Shohmelian approximately 15 years ago when I had a dental issue that needed resolving fairly urgently. I have always found him and his staff knowledgeable and very helpful. He has provided great service. Never suggest unnecessary work and I have always been very satisfied with the work he has done including a tricky implant where there was little gum left to work with. I was initially referred to Joe after suffering with a toothache . I was very anxious about visiting a dentist, goes back to childhood days. I made an appointment. Right from the beginning, Joe put me at ease in a very compassionate and caring way and made me pain free once more. So I went to see him. I have to say I have never come across a Dentist that is so knowledgeable, kind and patient. He is very calm and explains everything he is doing.
