Pacific Smiles Dental Hornsby

Fantastic experience: I have been takin my family to Pacific Smiles Dental Hornsby for several years now and we love the staff and service we receive here. They are all incredibly kind and professional. We're extremely happy with this dental practice.

Negative experience: We took our 18-month-old for her first dental visit after reading positive reviews, hoping for a gentle and positive experience. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The dentist repeatedly asked us to open her mouth but offered no guidance or reassurance on how to do this with a toddler. He remained physically distant and did not attempt even a brief visual check of her teeth. The appointment lasted less than five minutes, and no actual examination took place, yet we were still charged for the visit. When we suggested she might be too young, the response was dismissive, implying it was simply a matter of personality. After we left the room, the dentist came out to tell us to “keep brushing her teeth,” which felt more like an attempt to justify the charge than to provide meaningful care. The receptionist was friendly, which is the only reason for the two-star rating. We would not recommend this clinic to parents with young children, as the dentist we saw did not appear experienced in treating toddlers.

Fantastic experience: Great experience for our third time at Hornsby! The gap was really good too, so cheap compared to other Denist like No Gap Dental!!

Fantastic experience: Dr Ken Lee is very friendly and he explains things clearly. As a new patient to this practice, I feel welcomed by the reception, Dr Lee, and his dental assistant. The entire experience was pleasant and educational. Will return for regular checks and cleaning. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: The dentist began with taking 2 xrays and then cleaning commenced. It took him 5 minutes to clean my teeth which surprised me as it had been 7 months since my last clean at my regular dentist. He did not clean each tooth in that short time. Even though he said my teeth were healthy, there is no way cleaning was thorough. I dont know if this is his usual practice, but I was dissatisfied. I will not be returning to Pacific Smiles Hornsby again.

Negative experience: I’ve visited this clinic three times recently, and my first two appointments with Dr K. Lee were excellent, professional and caring. However, parents with children who are sensitive to pain may wish to be cautious with another dentist Dr B. Despite having over 35 years of experience, the dentist seemed to have limited patience, and the consultation felt rather rushed. When I raised a concern as a parent, the response was unexpectedly personal and discouraging, including a remark questioning my competence as a mother. Although an apology was later offered after some discussion, the experience was unpleasant and disappointing, something quite rare in Sydney, where dental care is usually known for kindness and professionalism.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed with the level of care I have experienced. The best thing the dentist I saw here, could provide me was refer me to a professional child dentist. I have pointed out my son’s teeth grinding problems then and only then did they notice. I also have asked around his front teeth if this is grinding or decay. I’ve been told it’s fine. Turns out it is decay. I also didn’t get told he had a cavity’s except one that was very obvious even to me. He seems to have a few more in the back that only the other dentist I saw told me about. Pacific smiles had no clue. Lots of this could have been prevented if I was told. They also don’t bother clean my children’s teeth on our check ups unless I specifically ask at the end when they try send us on our way. I asked if my son’s small dent in the front that needed to be filled could be refilled. I was told that would be a waste of resources…. As far as I’m concerned my son is not a waste of resources and I will never be returning. I’m left with a huge bill for issues now with my son’s mouth that I could have been told about way earlier….

Fantastic experience: Dr Ken was absolutely fabulous. By far the kindest and most genuine dentist I have ever been to. Would highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Dr Bill Sotiropoulos, I took my 3 year old son to visit him yesterday and he made the experience so fun and engaging for my son. My son is already looking forward to his next appointment with Dr Bill. Thank you so much for making a visit to the dentist so much fun!

Negative experience: Appalling customer service. Booked my checkup and made sure to clear out my schedule for the day my appointment was booked. Received no confirmation messages so decided to call them to confirm my appointment. I called 4 times and left voicemails only to hear back nothing. I called them again an hour before my appointment. The lady took 15 minutes to tell me that the person I was booked with doesn’t work on the day. Why book me in then?? And even if there was an issue, why not call and communicate this. Why do they reserve a right a charge me a fee for late cancellation but they can get off with doing this without any consequences. So upset because I had taken time off work to accommodate this appointment.

Fantastic experience: Dr Goyal is a great dentist. She puts alot of care and attention into her work and her patients and she's done a great job so far with my cosmetic and medical dental needs. Would highly recommend her.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dental practice. Dr Sotiropoulos is an outstanding dentist with years of experience and genuine patient care. He took the time to explain everything and my options before any treatment started. He has a wonderful sense of humour that instantly put me at ease, and his gentle approach made my visit very comfortable. You can tell he truly cares about providing the best treatment possible, and he takes the time to make sure you’re well looked after. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a dentist who is both professional and personable and painless.

Fantastic experience: We would like to acknowledge Dr Bill Sotiropoulos, who detected an issue with an Emergency Hospital diagnosis of an infection in the neck. If it wasn’t for him pushing us and obtaining immediate consultation for further investigation via an Oral Surgeon, well, it doesn’t bare thinking about the outcome. They discovered tongue cancer right down at the base of the tongue. The HNT dept at the hospital had failed to picked it up!!! Dr Bill is friendly and caring and we appreciate his attention to detail, more than words can say.

Negative experience: Would not recommend Dr Vlasos at all- no empathy. Technician put a hole in my partner's plate, and we got told to leave, and go and get it fixed at a tooth prosthesis..your Technician ruined it so you should fix it. LEFT NIB AFTER 13 yrs.. avoid at all costs. What a JOKE of a company..Got told by the dentist that he doesn't care,and he has never had a complaint...First time for everything!!!!

Positive experience: Lovely friendly staff but charged a lot more than was quoted for my filling.

Fantastic experience: Very friendly and. Caring staff. Dr explained so thoroughly each step she was taking as my mouth and teeth were examined. I felt very comfortable and was amazed at all the new technology . I certainly recommend this practice.

Negative experience: I am very disappointed in my experience with this practice. I was in emergency for severe dental pain over the weekend and was trying to get an immediate appt with my dentist but they could not offer me anything for a week so i booked in here, i saw the dentist who did an x-ray and told me i needed a filling as i had a cavity which was exposing my nerve and a fracture so that was prob related to the pain, but it felt off because the pain was so severe and so deep, after an hour of work the next 24 hours were hell and i was in complete agony, i called the dentist who referred me directly to a specialist and they did a CT scan and told me the root had completely decayed and the infection spread to the bone out the root and pulp of my tooth and needed emergency root canal or extraction surgery!!!!! you can imagine my sheer disappointment and horror because i also asked my previous dentist if i need antibiotics after leaving to which he said no il be good now the filling is done! i since wrote to the dentist to confirm what the specialist said and he said it was as he predicted well then if it was why the hell did i not get help when in such grave pain? never going back again! for an emergency this was handled really poorly not to mention what it cost me and will now cost e going forward! :(

Negative experience: Today I was not happy with my experience at pacific smiles dental Hornsby. I came for my dental appointment and ended up waiting 40 extra minutes until they were ready for me. I had Dr D’souza and assistant Ali and they made me very uncomfortable and nervous for my procedure. When Dr D’souza was assessing my teeth and gums she was very rushed and rough which was unpleasant. “Dr” D’souza asked about my wisdom tooth, I pointed it out, her and her assistant made a backhanded comment about it and both snickered. I’ve been coming to this dentist for 6 months and have usually had a pleasant experience but today clearly wasn’t one.

Negative experience: I had nerve pain and went to Pacific Smile dental in Westfield Hornsby for emergency consult. Young male dentist was very unhelpful, not explaining anything and it was very expensive.

Negative experience: I had a very frustrating experience at Pacific Smiles Hornby. I had an appointment scheduled for 11:00 AM, but I ended up waiting until 11:35 before I was finally seen. The lack of respect for my time was disappointing. If appointments aren’t going to be honored on time, the clinic should at least inform patients. This experience has left me questioning their professionalism, and I’m hesitant to return. Time management and communication need serious improvement.

Fantastic experience: I cannot rate Pacific Smiles Hornsby highly enough - Jean and Tiffany were welcoming, professional and extremely skilled. I deal with a lot of dental anxiety and I was put entirely at ease and had a painless wisdom tooth removal. I will be coming back to Pacific Smiles in Hornsby for all my future dental needs!!

Fantastic experience: Great experience in this Dental facility. They are open on Sundays which is very convenient. Staff are very friendly and courteous. Dr. Nikita Goyal is very professional and caring.

Negative experience: I booked an appointment for 4 times over the website each time, which was cancelled on the day of appointment or after I booked my appointment. They asked me to call to reschedule, I called them a few times, and no one answered my call.

Fantastic experience: Dr Candy is a gem! She was very kind, had a great approach to my concerns and treatment, explained things very well, and helped put me at ease. The practice also offers AfterPay which makes going to the dentist much more affordable. Would highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: I was treated by Doctor Vy Pham in another dental clinic years back. She looked after my dental issue like no other dentists, cared about my long term dental health instead of just a check up and clean. If it's not her, I could have developed a worse case. I looked her up on the internet to find her here in Pacific Smiles, then continue to see her here. Without doubts, she gave me and my families the best care she could, great advice and offered best solutions with consideration on the cost too. Hope she won't get booked out :)

Fantastic experience: I have now been twice for a routine clean and have had the best experience. Amazing and kind dentists. My original review below was with Dr Abraham. I saw Dr Athwal today and she was also brilliant. Highly recommend this place for a stress free clean. Totally awesome routine clean experience. The dentist I saw was incredibly kind and professional. She noted that I was nervous about gum pain in my front teeth during cleans, so offered to numb this area prior to starting. I have never been offered this before and it allowed me to have a pain free, stress free clean. The staff were lovely, the routine clean was perfect and the facilities were all new. I’d definitely recommend this dental clinic!

Negative experience: Their devices are very backwards. There is no basin for spitting. So they give you a cup to spit inside which is quite awkward. After cleaning and applying fluoride gel the doctor forgot to give me a cup right after and did not tell me to spit it right after so I swallowed the gel. At the moment while writing this post I’m having Fluoride poisoning symptoms!
