Negative experience: Receptionist is the rudest person you will ever experience.

Very satisfied with my teeth and good communication from all staff members . Update : the receptionist is not very polite and lacking costumer service . It’s a shame because everything else is fine except the attitude of the front desk staff .

Fantastic experience: I have had 2 children attend this practice with fabulous results. The staff have been mindful of their school hours and have been accommodating of this plus the children attending the visits without me. The orthodontist has explained the workings at every step and they have felt very comfortable with him and his staff.

Negative experience: Poor quality retainers provided- it broke within 2 months. I requested a replacement and was told the problem was that I was grinding my teeth. I’ve been wearing retainers for 17 years and none of them had ever broken because of grinding. It is more likely that these retainers broke because the technician had filed down and weakened the retainers in the exact same spot where the retainers broke off. They refused to replace the retainers and said there’s nothing they can do- I should just keep wearing the retainers. When I asked if my teeth would move, they said they can’t guarantee it. Not sure what the purpose of wearing broken retainers would be if my teeth may still move. They then offered to provide thicker retainers if I pay the difference and I can come back to get them done. The only reason I reluctantly entertained this option was because I didn’t want the hassle and trouble of getting into a dispute, not because I accepted their explanation for the broken retainers. A minute later, Kelly, the receptionist, told me I had to decide on the spot and they wouldn’t give me another appointment, despite me being told only moments earlier that I could think about it and come back. An additional $500 payment to be made on the spot when I was provided with poorly fitted retainers in the first place. She also said my dentist can supply the retainers (clearly not wanting to fix the problem themselves)- didn’t mention this when I first had them redone. Happy to take your money but not accept any responsibility when there is a problem. In addition, inconsistent advice was given about the types of retainers available. I specifically requested the wire type of retainers and was told they didn’t make them anymore, but on the recent appointment, after I had been given the plastic ones, I was told the wire types could still be made. Don’t trust this business.

Fantastic experience: TLDR: Dr Jong and his staff Rock The Casbah! As a father of 3, I dreaded the day when they would have to see the orthodontist. The family dentist recommended Focus Orthodontics for my middle son and I was so impressed with their level of ethics, attention to detail, and skill that it was a no brainer to send the other two there as well. From the beginning, Kelly held my son's (and my) hand through the process, explaining every little detail about all of the options. She was very accommodating with every question I had This is what led me to ask about Invisalign. Kelly and Dr Jong explained everything, the pros and cons of the process and even explained to the children how they would have to put them in, take them out, what to avoid and so on. When it came time to photograph their teeth - something that looks uncomfortable from the sidelines, Kat was an expert at directing the children as well as ensuring their comfort and calmness. The costs surprised me - much lower than I had envisioned - and the discounts offered for up front payment were substantial. Enough of the generics, more specifics ... THE MIDDLE The first child to visit was my middle son who had gaps between most of his teeth due to a slightly largish tongue and thus a speech impediment which made him self conscious. His school had claimed he needed occupational therapy to correct his lisp and I had paid for him to get care beyond that which the school offered (next to nothing to be honest). The result of this? No improvement. I had always thought it was his tongue and we would just have to wait for his body to catch up, however Dr Jong confirmed that the gaps in his teeth could also be a contributing factor. With Dr Jong's care, he was started on Invisalign, cosmetically nearly invisible, and within a month I began to notice improvements. Within 6 months he was a completely different person. It was because of him that my eldest decided that it would be okay to go in to see Dr Jong (he was uneasy about having something in his mouth). THE ELDEST My eldest did not have any specific issues with his teeth, just crooked here or there. The thing that impressed me was that Dr Jong was such a perfectionist. He treated my son as a work of art that just needed that extra stroke of paint to become a masterpiece. When many other orthodontists that I know of would have said "good enough", Dr Jong refused to do so. He ensured that every tooth was rotated into a near perfect position. My eldest has now finished his treatment and opted for the night time trays rather than have metal wires on the inside of his teeth. A decision that he made for himself after we had sat down with Kelly where she explained everything to him, what could and could not be done with them. I think the fact he couldn't eat spare ribs with the wires made the decision easy for him. THE YOUNGEST My little girl had her canines growing behind her other teeth and we thought that she would need braces (expanders and all). However Dr Jong examined her and announced that Invisalign would be able to deal with it just fine. She is a little anxious in general, especially when visiting doctors, dentists, or anyone else that will be making a judgement on her. The very first visit, Kelly made her feel special and she is extremely happy every time she goes to visit the practice. In fact she takes pride in her teeth more now than she every did. She was the first of all of my children to finish her treatment and is currently using a retainer only at night time. Her smile is so large and happy, not hiding those canines anymore. IN SUMMARY Dr Jong and his staff are amazing! The willingness of the staff to listen to any little problem and help out is amazing. The 3 are still under their care and get regular check-ins to ensure their progress is stable. If I was to recommend an orthodontist it would be Dr Jong and his team at Focus Orthodontics. I have multiple orthodontic specialists in the family and I prefer Dr Jong (sorry guys)!

Negative experience: Unprofessional, extremely rude staff. Pay a visit if you would like to be made to feel insecure.

Fantastic experience: I've been going to Focus Orthadontics for three years now and I couldn't recommend Dr.Mun, Kelly and the team enough. Everyone is super professional, super clean and highly organised, their customer service, knowledge and support is incredible. Everyone is always friendly and you are always greeted with a smile, they truly make you feel like you're part of the family instead of a number in the books. Also my teeth are amazingly straight after 18 months of invisalign treatment. I had a fitting issue with my permanent retainer and had to get remoulded but Dr.Mun being the amazing generous person that he is paid for both of the retainers out of his own pocket and not once did he ask me for a cent. They really put their customers first and treat you as one of the Focus family. I'm constantly getting compliments on how amazing my teeth look, so thank you Focus Orthodontics you have well and truly changed my teeth and my life forever.

Fantastic experience: I went to this Orthodontist for braces. After paying an upfront fee, everything was covered under this fee, including repairs to broken brackets etc. I had no problems or complaints during the treatment, and everyone was kind and helpful. Overall, a very positive experience.

My son was struggling with the whole braces look and feel but without hesitation they had us back to make adjustments for him. My son was very nervous but that soon disappeared when we arrived because Kellie and the whole team were amazing. They went above and beyond any of my expectations. The clinic is so clean and impressive, all the staff are friendly and make you feel really welcome. Fantastic experience: The staff are very efficient. I went to get my braces done and the hygienist was very gentle, didn't feel a thing. He talked me through the process as well which made me a bit more comfortable. Great hygiene within the facility as well.

Fantastic experience: All Needs Dental at Burwood referred us to Dr Jong to be my daughter’s orthodontist. When we first met him he seemed very knowledgeable, he thoroughly examined my daughter and said he can work out a treatment plan for her although her case is a difficult one to fix. On the 3rd of October we went to see him to have the pin attached, my daughter and I were both very nervous but he did such a good job, he is very pain conscious, caring, encouraging and gentle. I bought four packets of Panadol but my daughter only ate two then she said she was okay. After three days she told me this “Mum I think you found me a very good orthodontist”. Today we went to have the expander inserted, as always he had a nice conversation with my daughter, then carefully inserted the expander. The important thing to me is that he understands children and how to talk to them when they are scared and nervous. After the session my daughter said to me “I like Dr Jong, he is funny and cool” :) As orthodontic treatment is a very important part of my daughter’s life and a major decision to be made, I said to my daughter “It may not be an easy process to go through, but I just want you to be comfortable and this can only happen with the right orthodontist.” Dr Jong gave us so much faith and my daughter is very comfortable with him even though we still have our fears for the pain etc, but we have seen that he has worked very hard to minimize the pain and make her comfortable throughout the process. We highly recommend Dr Jong to anyone who needs any orthodontic treatment. He is genuinely good:)

Negative experience: made an appointment for my son and had an emergency at about 5pm where the expanders came loose and all i was looking for was someone who could screw it back in, so i called Focus orthodontics who advised no sorry you need to go back to where you got them made up in the first place, then i said but i am booked in with you on Tuesday for my son, the lady said again no sorry we cant help you as we have no orthodontists here. i called and drove for 30 minutes to the previous orthodontist (as per focus call) to be told they cant help either, then spent the next 3 hours trying to find a dentist and finally found Wise dental who were so helpful. i was going to spend $7000 for my braces with Focus but now i have decided to go elsewhere

Fantastic experience: If I could put 6 stars I would. I have had 2 daughters go through Focus Orthodontics over the last 5 years and the care and results have been wonderful. They are a very professional team and the orthodontists, hygenists, management and dental staff are obviously a very cohesive group and always happy and cheery, making what sometimes can be a nerve-wracking experience for children/teens very comfortable and reassuring. It was always a pleasure to visit and be met by the vibrant Kelly who would bend over backwards to explain any queries we had or rush through the making of cracked retainers when we had holidays to go on! Nothing was too much trouble and my daughters teeth look perfect, The process is never quick enough for a teenager! but the care of the orthodontists are second to none and the resulting confidence from a new and much improved smile is worth the wait.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely amazing! I am a student who has been attending the practice for over 5 years, along with my 2 siblings. The service has never let us down and never once have we felt uncomfortable. The staff are so helpful and friendly, including Kelly and Dr Jong who are also welcoming and highly skilled. Appointments are always on time, with Kelly (Practice Manager) bending over backwards to accommodate to your schedule. The atmosphere is great, clean and relaxed! Even so, with a massage chair and iPads in the waiting room! I highly recommend Focus Orthodontics!!

Fantastic experience: Couldn't recommend Focus Orthodontics more! Currently being treated by Dr Mun Jong and every session's a treat. I've had a pretty long journey with braces and Dr Jong has made sure I've stayed informed the whole way through - from fixing an overbite and moving the gums up. Nothing has been done without first making sure both me and my family have understood the processes. Above all, it's a friendly and warm atmosphere in this Burwood house. The receptionists are always happy to help; I've lost a few packets of elastics and they've saved me time and time again by mailing packets out. Happy to be a patient here - two years and counting. Never a dull moment!
