Fantastic experience: I got both my wisdom teeth pulled out by Katie today! She was super lovely and made sure I was feeling comfortable, and even offered me some juice which was very kind, as I mentioned I didn’t have any breakfast beforehand. Her assistant nurse was super lovely too (didn’t quite catch her name, mouth was soo numb lol!). The whole process was so nice and painless, I really appreciate the work that all the girls put in here. The front desk lady was super kind too, definitely the best place to go, everyone is so patient

Fantastic experience: They are very friendly, yet professional. The booking process was really easy to navigate. I wanted to get to see my regular dentist specifically but he was booked out, as soon as there was a cancellation they called me and I got right away.

Negative experience: I have been attending this Pacific Smiles for around 8 years and normally have an amazing experience. Unfortunately today wasn't the same. My regular dentist was away so I was slotted in with Dr P Mali. While I didn't mind the fact he was running close to 30mins behind you could tell he was in mad rush to get me seen and back out the door. The clean and polish was one of the most painful I have ever experienced. He kept hitting my gum causing me to pull away on 3 occasions. I didn't feel he actually checked my teeth for any signs of cavities just got straight in with the polish. He missed the clean on my top back right side. My mouth was bleeding for about 30mins after my appointment had even finished. I know it's a Friday afternoon and you're wanting to leave but every patient should be treated with care and precision.

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with James and his assisting nurse (unfortunately did not catch her name) but both were VERY lovely!!!! I had a tooth extracted; the receptionist was very polite upon arrival and the whole procedure was quick, painless, and suprisingly low cost considering I didn't have health insurance. Very highly recommended. ☺️

Negative experience: To expensive 20 minutes appointment glueing two teeth for my wire and it was 355 dollars Last appointment only costs me 355 to re do a whole new wire completely and it took a lot longer

Fantastic experience: I visited Pacific Smiles this morning to chat to the dentists about fixing an issue with my front teeth. After having a really poor experience at the Greenhills practice, I was a little worried about having limited options and the cost of fixing the problem. I spoke to a lovely dentist named Brooke and her assistant Mia (I hope that's correct) and they were absolutely lovely. So friendly and welcoming. Not only did they give me plenty of options, but they were empathetic to my situation and understanding of my concerns. I have now booked an appointment to have the issue remedied in the next month. Thank you for being so kind and helpful this morning. Much appreciated.

Fantastic experience: I was nervous about the appointment as i knew I’d need a tooth removed and I’d never had this done before. Dr Park is very reassuring, explained everything and checked on me the whole process. In all it was mostly painless and quick. Highly recommend Dr Park!

Negative experience: Visited to check my 4yr old’s cavity. We were quickly referred to a “specific” specialist at another clinic advising he needs thorough examination despite my child was clam and responding well to his requests. When visited the specialist they did a full mouth Xray and advised there is one big cavity that a tooth needs to be extracted. Considering my child’s age they said he should undergo General Anaesthesia at a day surgery hospital. Got us deposit $2,700 and had booking a week away. We decided to take a second opinion, took him to another dentist in Cessnock who explained the options other than extraction and did the whole procedure in our first visit; only had $67 out of pocket and we cancelled our day surgery. In summary we didn’t had to go to a specialist and pay their fees; this cavity could have been taken care of by Pacific Smiles.

Fantastic experience: Dr.Tarpey was wonderful with my 8yo daughter and myself. He explained everything in detail, and showed my daughter everything he would use and what to feel and expect during her fillings. Made her very comfortable, and myself who also had fillings. Special mention to his assistant who was very efficient and knowledgeable.

Fantastic experience: Recently moved to the Lower Hunter and needed to find a local dentist. PSD Rutherford had appointments available to book online (makes things so much easier when booking appointments!!), was able to get my son in the next day and at 5:30pm which is a great time when you finish work in the afternoon. The dentist and his assistant were lovely, as was the receptionist. We have a few more appointments booked in, but I’m very happy with their service and will continue to use them in the future.

Fantastic experience: Dr Amrita Singh is a special dentist. She cares about your well-being and comfort. She is exceptional skilled performing complex procedures with ease and a genuine smile. She is great with kids of all ages, including the grown up ones. I can't recommend her highly enough.

Fantastic experience: If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. For years, I have had issues with TMD, and I have been to many dentists, doctors and clinicians. Unfortunately, it’s an area no one wants to deal with, and getting help is hard. My 15 yr old daughter has inherited my awful issues, and I called Pacific Smiles. Firstly, the receptionist was super helpful on the phone and suggested Dr Ben Chaung. HE IS AMAZING. Not only does he explain things so well, but he also has excellent knowledge and contacts regarding jaw issues. We have a clear plan to follow, and he makes my daughter feel comfortable every step of the way. I'd go as far as saying Dr Ben Chaung is the best dentist I’ve seen in my 42 years of life! Shoutout to all the staff at PS; the dental nurses and admin girls are so lovely, too. Thank you so much for making a stressful situation less stressful. What an asset Dr Chaung is to our community!

Fantastic experience: Dr Joanna Chang was wonderful, happy to answers any questions I had and was so gentle in doing my clean. Her assistant was so lovely as well. The front staff were helpful and patient. Would highly recommend a visit.

Negative experience: I spent so much money on root canal, which was recommended. It was a horrible experience to start with. I was also concerned about another tooth in which they totally ignored which has resulted in extensive work too.. not long after the root canal, my whole tooth fell out! I was horrified! Waste of money and unnecessary pain. I once also used PS at Greenhills, many years ago in which the Dentist there removed the wrong tooth! Thank goodness it was a back one but still a perfectly good tooth taken.. I never returned there but also won't ever return to a pacific smiles clinic ever again. Each time I've been there has been an issue and a very overpriced bill. They also insist on taking new xrays every visit and charging you which I think is totally unnecessary especially when they tell you..." we'll keep your xrays on file for next time!"

Fantastic experience: Dr Mali was wonderful with both of my daughters for their very first dental experiences. He was patient and understanding, explaining what was happening throughout the appointment and involving them in their care. They have both left saying they loved the dentist and are looking forward to their next check ups. All of the staff we have encountered so far have been positive and friendly. I've spoken with Ben on numerous topics and he is an absolute pleasure to talk to. I'm moving interstate soon and hope I can find someone even half as good as your team down in Tasmania. Amrita and her sidekick (assistant) Kim were absolutely lovely in helping me through the process of having my check up. They eased my anxiety and I felt so comfortable throughout the process. A BIG thank you to the whole entire team at Rutherford for making my experience amazing. All the staff are a pleasure to deal with from first point of contact to the end. The Rutherford team are an asset to Pacific Smiles Dental.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. Never thought I would like a Dentist . But had a bad tooth that had to go. The Dentist and nurse were great, kept me informed throughout. Explained the post removal requirements . And no pain at all. Would recommend them .

Negative experience: I don’t like having to write this review, especially because the dentist I saw was perfectly nice, and adequately concerned after I had lingering nerve pain a couple of weeks after a few major fillings done by her. She also did offer to replace those fillings. (Although there was certainly a level of professional confidence missing when I went back, which left me feeling extremely anxious). The reality of the situation was, I initially went in for a clean, was told I needed 5 fillings. After 3 fillings were done I had the severe pain. I knew her offer of re-doing my fillings was probably a waste of time for at least one tooth, and I would need major dental. (She did suspect moisture under one filling, and also suggested it could be more serious). But considering I had no pain before I saw her, and because of other things I will mention below, I was too nervous for her to take on my major dental or re-do any fillings. I travelled to Sydney to see my family dentist, who on an x-ray was able to show me how my teeth were in no way properly cleaned (I thought it was odd that 2 minutes were spent cleaning instead of the usual 15), and that I would need it done again. Also, that one of my cavities didn’t actually even need a filling at this point because it was only surface level and had been like that for years, (I stress the importance of going to a dentist that knows your history). After having my root canal done by my family dentist, my major pain is gone, but I still have symptoms of moisture underneath my other filling and also symptoms that the filling is ill fitting. So technically under the Pacific Smiles “Guarantee”, I could have this re-done at no cost to myself. But considering my CLEAN wasn’t even done properly ($200 worth of extras waisted), my filling probably wasn’t done properly, and my fillings seemed rushed to fit into my one hour appointment, (therefore probably making moisture getting under my filling more likely), I do not trust her enough to re-do unfortunately, so I will have to pay to get it done all over again by my old dentist. Money down the drain. I know my fillings were rushed, because towards the end of my appointment “It’s just not sticking”, was uttered several times, and “How long do we have left? Three minutes?”, all in a too-urgent-for-comfort sort of way.. not things you ever want to hear or should hear when you are paying a fortune for dental work. But when you go to a franchise like this, they are cheaper because they need you in and out as quickly as possible while TRYING to maintain acceptable quality. This is all I can deduce from my experience here vs. my experiences at small privately owned practices. Dental is expensive either way, so go to the best. Do your research. I do not recommend for complex dental, multiple large fillings, and I suppose even cleans for that matter. Quality dental work will save you money in the long run, even if it’s a little more expensive, don’t skimp. You could end up paying more in the future. Go somewhere that has the time and expertise to give you the best possible outcome, especially if you have more complex dental issues.

Fantastic experience: I have always been a tad bit nervous going to a Dentist and quite often put appointments off until absolutely necessary but I don’t need to anymore. Dr Mali at Rutherford Pacific Smiles is the loveliest welcoming Dentist I have ever been too. He is incredible and always makes me feel so at ease . I trust him so much that I even put my brave hat on today and had my small filling done without a needle and I didn’t feel a thing ... Who would of ever thought I could do that ... Happy Days

Negative experience: Very disappointed in the service I received. It was recommended I have a splint, because of grinding. 3 appointments and a month later, I have no splint.
