Fantastic experience: Came down from NSW due to how much more affordable Gentle Dental is compared to anywhere else I looked. Tania and her team were so lovely and comforting. They were also incredibly patient and understanding as I have a massive needle phobia. Would recommend anyone to come here for wisdom tooth removal, or any other services the team provides. Negative experience: Im afraid to tell you that ados experience and mine weren't that great as in other dental surgery visits. The wait was way too long no numbing cream on his hand and I have said this many times please don't press the chair button till he is dozing off as he is very scared of falling off the chair when it is too high up. The tooth that is really sore is still in his mouth he had the opg done and Tania and I looked at it on the screen but it wasn't removed it is actually yellow and sore.

Everything was explained clearly and done with so much care. I’m really happy with the outcome and grateful for how reassuring they were.

Fantastic experience: I’d highly recommend Gentle Dental for wisdom teeth removal. My daughter had hers taken out under light sedation this past week and I am very happy with the care she received by all at the surgery, from the very organised reception staff, Dr. Nixon and the Anaesthetist who my daughter said were both lovely and the kind nurse who looked after Asha in recovery. I am also very happy with how Asha is recovering. Thanks so much.

Fantastic experience: Right from the first phone call with this clinic they were caring and understanding. Can’t speak highly enough of Dr. Tania and the anaesthetist looking after me during a tooth extraction. If you’re slightly anxious about going to the dentist, definitely go here.

Fantastic experience: From start to finish this was a really good experience. I had all 4 off my wisdom teeth out, all being impacted, all of the information given at the initial consultation was easy to understand and really lay out everything I needed to do. Although the changes in time of when I would come in changed a few times, which made me anxious, as soon as I walked in, it was a very calming space. I requested for the EMLA gel just to make it easier to be to get the needle in as fasting and small veins not so good. Off course it felt like I went in spoke to the anethetist, and the nurses and Dr and it was done in 5 mins. The only thing that I think might help is clarification for antibiotics and if it is required every 6 hours including waking up to take them at night.

Fantastic experience: Tania and the team at Gentle Dental are great, this was the second major dental procedure that my Grandson needed. Again all went smoothly with very minimal discomfort afterwards. Tania had a quiet (and required) talk with him, when he recovered from the anaesthetic regarding the downside of sugary drinks and the importance of dental hygiene. Thankyou Tania.

Fantastic experience: I brought my daughter in to see Tania as she needed work done and was too anxious to do it awake. We struggled to get her to drink the pre-med and all the nursing staff were so patient even though we delayed the start to the morning. Alex, the anaesthetist, was also amazing and made Ava feel very comfortable. Obviously the dental work was also amazing! Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend the Sleep Dentistry, I have had major trauma with jaw dislocations etc I was terrified. I was recommended to come to Gentle Dental where they allayed all my fears. I went to sleep and woke up with everything completed that needed to be done. Fantastic experience: Tania and the team at Gentle Dental Geelong are incredible! I had my wisdom teeth removed and a number of fillings, all done under aesthetic with zero pain post operation. I had seen several dentists in my local area however, not comfortable with their approach or pricing. I would highly recommend!! 10/10.

From the front facing staff, the beautifully caring dentist and medical staff, I cannot rate them highly enough. I will be going nowhere else. Tania, Karen and all of the staff are outstanding, obliging nothing is any trouble you always get a warm and friendly welcome on arrival but most of all they care about you. Fantastic experience: Dental phobia prevented me from going to the dentist for many years. This practice was recommended to me as they specialise in dental phobias. While I was almost having a panic attack upon my arrival reception staff were amazing at putting me at ease. Dr Smith was incredible and non-judgemental about my teeth which were in poor condition. This morning I was self-conscious about my smile and a couple hours later I could not stop smiling. I now have a dental plan to help me with other less visible problems and dare I say it, I am actually looking forward to my next appointment with Dr Smith. I also found pricing to be reasonable. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I would highly recommend “Gentle Dental”. I’m definitely not a fan of Dentists but had a painful tooth that I’d been putting of for quite some time and it was only that my Cousin recommended these guys and I’m so glad she did. From the minute I walked in and was greeted by Karen & Brittany the receptionist’s they made me feel at ease and so welcome and was anxiety had dropped a lot. The Dentist I saw “Dr Darren Schmidtke” he was absolutely amazing and had the best bedside manner you could ask for. He was so Gentle in removing my tooth and was done so quickly. I have gone from someone that dislikes Dentists and putting it off for so long to now I would go back to that clinic in a heartbeat.

Fantastic experience: As a reluctant visitor to the dentist I was pleasantly surprised by how well I was looked after. From a calm, relaxing environment to the Dentist, Dr Nixon who was professional, caring and efficient. Dr Nixon ensured I was fully informed about what was to happen and why and explained everything clearly. Highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I'm very nervous going to the dentist that I didn't go in 8years. I opted for sedation dental work and it was a wonderful experience with a follow up message and care from the team. I will definitely be back and not wait 8 years! I felt comfortable and heard and my teeth are now clean and have been fixed without pain. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: Appointment felt rushed, the clean was sub par and no issues were picked up. Went to a better dentist the next month and thank goodness I did! 2 small issues picked up to be addressed, they were surprised these weren't picked up previously

Fantastic experience: Could not recommend them enough. I have a terrible fear of dentists from past experiences. I chose here as they do Sleep Dentistry. I booked in for a consult and made it known I was very nervous. The reception staff, nurses and Dr Tania Nixon herself were incredibly understanding and accommodating and made a clear effort to make me comfortable. I never felt judged for the poor state of my teeth which was one of my larger fears. I went through to have full dental work including 2 crowns under anesthetic and after my first procedure, I was already a lot more comfortable going in for my second. Between my two appointments, I had some concerns and they fit me in for a quick check in which placated those worries. I'll state it again but I could not recommend them enough. Fantastic experience: I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Gentle Dental! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed there and they made my experience so relaxing, quick and easy considering this procedure is often quite scary for a lot of us! Dr Tania was incredible at helping me stay calm with friendly conversation before my anaesthetic was administering and the nurses were just as kind! When I came to again, I was completely pain free (thanks to the nurses precise and thorough numbing) and also unaware the procedure had even happened because it was so quick and I didn't remember anything! If you’re nervous about wisdom teeth removal and need someone you can trust to keep you calm and to look after you - look no further! Gentle Dental is it!

Fantastic experience: I'm 75 years old and recently had a tooth extraction at Gentle Dental. I was nervous and anxious and probably a bit scared but as I found out I had no need to be. The experience was somewhat amazing as after receiving the anaesthetic in my hand I was conscious and relaxed to the extent that I did not realise that my tooth was and had been extracted. I had absolutely no sensation of being touched or any pain whatsoever. Yes I did have a small amount of bleeding and yes there was some discomfort for a few days but not what I expected. The painkillers that were prescribed worked a treat.The staff involved were extremely courteous friendly and professional. I could not recommend Gentle Dental more highly.

Fantastic experience: Everyone from Gentle Dental is so lovely yet professional. I needed a wisdom tooth removed urgently and everywhere else in Geelong had months’ of waiting list. I was able to book an appointment for the following week for a consultation and surgery the next day. Also If you only have extra cover for your health insurance, this would work out better comparing to going to the hospital. I was only out of pocket for about $680, the estimate I got from the hospitals are about $2k. Thank you team!

Fantastic experience: I found Dr Tania and staff to be friendly, courteous and accommodating opposite to ‘Soul’s’ review. Dr Tania is nothing but super friendly and engaging. She always makes sure my X-rays are up to date and thank God as she picked up decay on my back teeth that another dentist missed. I highly recommend the services of this practice.

Negative experience: Overall I found Gentle dental to lack care or compassion. Dr Tania Nixon was belittling and rude. Dr Tania Nixon made it feel like any concerns I may have as a patient was just a drag. Prior to my consult I had forward emailed 2 week old X-rays of both sides of my mouth, the front teeth and my existing wisdom teeth from a seperate clinic and up to date. Dr Tania Nixon would not even look in my mouth without my consent to do more x rays as she stated my X-rays were irrelevant. She said how was was she to know I haven’t had work done between the X-rays and now. This come at a charge of $220. The cost of the treatment plan was extremely costly at Gentle Dental. I ended up going to another dentist and being over the moon with their care and service and i had the work done with my original 2 week old X-rays and cost similar to the unnecessary duplicate X-rays and the consult fee from Gentle Dental. This is the first review I have felt the need to write as I don’t want anyone to have the same disappointing experience. I would not recommend Gentle Dental on Pakington Street, West Geelong

Fantastic experience: I can highly recommend Gentle Dental. I recently had a broken tooth fixed with a pin and a filling and the support staff and dentist made it a very efficient, pain free and, best of all, satisfying experience. Great work, Gentle Dental.

Fantastic experience: I have a blocked nose and cannot have my mouth open and breathe at the same time. After having sleep dentistry, the experience of having my wisdom tooth removed was pain free. The staff were extremely friendly and understanding putting my anxiety at ease. I would highly recommend Gentle Dental to anyone experiencing anxiety or breathing difficulties.

Fantastic experience: I had Darren. Nice bloke, fantastic dentist. Offered several solutions to fix my tooth but didn't put any pressure on me to choose. Very honest. All staff are very friendly and professional.

Negative experience: If you book a "free consultation" expect to be charged a minimum of $50. We booked a "free consultation" online. In the appointment the dentist did explain all the pricing and what needs to be done. Unfortunately I was unable to do do any of the X-rays I needed because my husband and I are trying to get pregnant. I would like to add that the xrays are able to be done free by a dentists recommend but they did not tell us that and were ready to charge a fair bit. I thought I would be done since we came to talk about it all and we had. But he said he wanted to do an examination and a clean. Even though I was there for a free consultation I thought better ask because that doesn't sound free and he wasnt saying any costs. It was $200, I said no we'll come back another day and get everything done together. We then went to leave and where told that we were being charged $50 for taking up an appointment. All staff members were polite and lovely but clearly the policies of the establishment itself are trying to trick you in to paying more money then needed

Fantastic experience: GREAT DENTIST AND GENTLE. I was very happy with my veneers and teeth whitener. Dr Nixon was very caring and helped me with my fear of the dentist. I have had terrible experiences from a child and didn’t think I could ever have treatment at the dentist again. She understood exactly how I felt and made sure at every stage that I was ok. Negative experience: Worst experience ever. Tania the dentist there is rude and would never ever recommend anyone go there! I'm still have problems fixed by another dentist because of what that place did!

Negative experience: I explained on the phone I need teeth to be extract (as I ve been to public dentist) and asked can doctor * do it? I was explained yes and transferred to some more experienced staff to confirm. The staff confirmed. When I came , doc said he does not do it only surgeon does it who is not today here but tomorrow and the procedure can not be done soon as it require to wait (2 motnhs appr) or so (need to wait). After that I asked receptionist will I need to pay for appointment with surgeon tomorrow (as in fact they should not book me with dentist) , receptionist said "yes" . I said think I should not pay for receptionist's mistake as they should not book me with dentist who does nto extract teeth (I already knew what need to be done!) receptionist first blamed trained staff that is new then said she is not professional and does not know what doctors can and can not do. She said "you need to ask it the surgeon" And they encourage to bring another OPG xray otherwise to pay them to do it. I think if you are professional dental receptionist you should know who can and can not extract teeth in your clinic and do not make appointment for something that can be done in 2 months distance if the client in a pain or similar ! As well not the patient but the reception need to search information about how their staff is charging people. I came with a goal to extract 5 teeth and they could not safe me a 1 dollar. OPG can be done for free with dentist referral at Lake imagining (they do not tell you that); They wanted me just to pay ..won't comeback

Fantastic experience: Visited this practice a few days ago for a check up and clean. Saw the dentist Tania and she was great, very thorough and explained everything completely. She helped me understand how to prevent problems in the future. Reasonably priced im very happy would recommend to everyone!!!

Fantastic experience: I was very apprehensive to go to a dentist as I have a fear of them but gentle dental were fantastic. The dentist that looked after me was Tania and she was superb. I couldn't recommend her more. I feel completely comfortable and will defiantly be back!

Negative experience: Totally disgusted in this place. I received a call from my 22yr old daughter who just got home from attending this vile, rude, overpriced dentist. My daughter was crying and so upset after her appointment. She went in as her wisdom tooth was annoying her a little. The dentist Tania, was the rudest person, her tone of voice was apppalling, she told my daughter she needs to change her diet, not to drink anything except water and milk, poked around her teeth, gave them a clean and X-ray, gives her a print out of the work she needs with a total amount $5,600 and to top it off, she is then charged $508 for today's appointment. Tania, you may want to take a good look at your attitude, the way you speak to people and pricing! I will mention, my daughter did say the receptionists were wonderful.

Negative experience: Over priced. Tania the dentist there possibly one of the rudest people ever dealt with. Very belittling of clients with the way she talks. Had to get two wisdom teeth out tried to tell my wife needed surgery and was going to cost over $2500.. went to another dentist who was fantastic and actually gentle and removed for only $300.. definitely would shop around before wasting money and time there. The girls on the desk are amazing.. shame that doesnt flow to the actual dentist..

Fantastic experience: I needed to get a couple of teeth surgically removed. I was quote by an oral surgeon elsewhere who was charging excessive prices ($1200 out of pocket roughly incl day stay hospital excess) and I found out at that Gentle Dental also do surgical extractions so I got a quote from them. This worked into my favour as 1. they are a preferred provider with my health fund and 2. the rooms are not classified as a day stay so I negated the excess on my insurance policy. I ended up only $60 out of pocket instead of $1200. Absolutely awesome! My recovery from the extractions was quick and I had no ongoing issues which tells me the job was of high quality. The admin staff are always awesome to deal with and very professional. I already recommend them to my friends but I felt I should also do it here online.

Negative experience: I am disgusted by the prices of this place! $200 for a check up, it only includes a clean and fluoride - that's it. $60 just to sit in the chair and them to have a look and a tug on the teeth. Over $500 for a filling, plus don't forget the x-rays which they recommend getting before even starting so there goes another $200. I have found the receipts rude, and only seem to care about the patients who are paying top dollar. When in the dentist room, I only except two professionals to be in the room when you are sitting in the chair, but the receptionists and other dentist seem to feel free to walk in whenever they want too, have a chat, leave then come back in to finish their chats! This places is beyond ridiculous, there professional standards are very very low, they are rude and like to charge you a fortune, while not explaining to you at the time what you are paying for or if something is going to cost extra. Going to the counter to pay & expecting to pay no more than $200 and get a bill over $600 is a massive shock for anyone. I will not be recommending this place to anyone

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended dentist!!! The 2 other reviews are far from true, I was contacted 3 times before the appointment to make sure I knew, I was called on the day to let me know I could come in early and was flexible in the time I could arrive. I had no wait time and was straight in to see a dentist. The assistant and dentist were extremely considerate with my situation and very very kind, the work they did was excellent, very fast and professional. The price was similar to other dentist's I have seen in the past but wouldn't mind how much I'd have to pay to see Gental Dental again after my experience. Again highly recommended dentist!!!
