Fantastic experience: I recently had a crown fitted on my front tooth at Newport Family dentist by Dr. Khansa’a and Dr. Aseel. From the moment I walked in I was made to feel very welcome and after talking through my options with Dr. Khansa’a I knew I was in expert hands. Dr. Khansa’a explained the options available to me and their risks and benefits given the complex nature of my tooth. She was extremely thorough, very caring and patient with me throughout the whole process. Prior to starting each procedure she explained what would be done and what to expect. At no time, either during the preparation of the tooth for the crown or the fitting of the crown did I experience any pain. On the day of fitting the crown, absolutely no adjustments were needed. It fit perfectly and like a glove. I cannot thank Dr. Khansa’a and Dr. Aseel enough as I am delighted with the result as it is exactly as I had hoped. Their expertise, care, thoroughness and professionalism throughout the process was exceptional. I highly recommend Newport Family dentist for those looking for superior service and extensive dental expertise.

Negative experience: I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at this dental office was the worst I’ve ever had. What was supposed to be a straightforward root canal turned into an extremely traumatic ordeal. After the first procedure I had a rare complication occur. My cheek swell up over night and I was in a lot of discomfort. As possible complications were not discussed after the procedure I didn’t know if this was normal or not and so I waited until my next appointment the day after in the afternoon. At arrival the dentist said to me that I should’ve come in straight in the morning and that if I would’ve waited any longer they would’ve had to distract the tooth. Unfortunately it was already too late and the tooth couldn’t be saved anymore which resulted in an extraction. It was the most frightening and painful experience and absolutely not what I expected from a professional dental practice. I left shaken, exhausted and furthermore the practice forgot to give me pain medication and medical certificate I was promised. However they didn’t miss to make my husband pay the bill. Which meant I spent all night in a lot of pain and my husband had to return the next day to pick up both prescription and mc. The infection only worsened and so I had to be hospitalized 2 days later. The wound had to be opened and cleaned. I understand complications can happen, but the lack of communication, empathy, and proper care made this experience overwhelmingly negative. I would strongly advise others to consider a different provider—no one should go through what I did. Also in trying to reach out to the practice they have now been ignoring my last 2 emails.

Fantastic experience: Went in with a major toothache which I new had to be removed. Had the best luck of booking an appointment with Dr Aseel. Without a doubt the most gentle and caring dentist I have ever come across. She put my anxiousness at ease and did a super quick and painless extraction. Had literally no pain after the anaesthic wore off. I can highly recommend Dr Aseel and will be going back for my regular visits.

Negative experience: Unprofessional and unethical billing practices. I visited for an emergency toothache. I was treated without my medical history being taken, prescribed antibiotics without them checking for any allergies and had X-rays taken without them checking I wasn’t pregnant. The dentist completely misdiagnosed the issue and billed $350 of dental services that were unnecessary and obviously didn’t help. By contrast the next dentist resolved the issue in one $60 consultation. There’s a reason you can get an appointment here on short notice.

He made it very clear what type of treatment for my root canal and replacement crown was best. Better still he gave some really helpful advice about best cleaning practices for difficult to reach areas for a tooth with a crown. Five star dentist!

Over the last month, I have had to pleasure of working with him and his lovely team to bring my teeth back to good health and a pleasing aesthetic. Throughout my treatment, they included me in every decision that was being made. They also willingly answered any questions that I had about the work being done. The best part was they were straight forward about the scope of works needed and did not over-prescribe on unnecessary works. For instance, I was able to achieve the aesthetic, I wanted with a deep clean. There was no upselling of more invasive procedures such as teeth whitening. They'll be straight up about what something will end up costing. They told me what I'd NEED to have about various extras that I might want but weren't a necessity. I had an immediate sense of trust with my dentist when we were discussing the procedure of having a crown put in, and she was explaining whether I should get a porcelain one, or if I should just get silver/gold. I appreciated the fact that she told me the porcelain would end up costing me more and to save me a bit of money, she said I'd be better off getting a silver or gold one. I am very happy with this place. They also had plenty of appointments and I was able to come back in on the same day. Not to mention the fact that I didn't even have to wait in the waiting room. I honestly think I've just found my new dentist!

Positive experience: Great profession. I did my cleaning for my teeth. Dr Ahmed was very professional great customer service. He took me through the process after I did the cleaning and what fillings I need some advises how to look after my teeth and the plan what to do next with no pressure.

Negative experience: My husband waited for a receptionist for over an hour just to get a copy of a receipt from a previous trip. No one came. He rang the bell multiple times and was told by another lady just to wait and someone would be with him. Ridiculous level of service! So frustrating!
