Positive experience: Looking to book in my first appointment with this group and had a very quick response from their reception team. Unfortunately their website is not up to date and the offers are not available.

Fantastic experience: Wonderfully patient and kind dentist- I absolutely hate having needles for fillings and I usually have sedation however I was able to have two in one visit with no pain at all thanks to a very caring dentist - would highly recommend

Fantastic experience: This is a great place to go take care of your teeth. The team is very professional and meticulous when it comes to examining and providing solutions. A thorough step by step approach is taken when explaining the procedure that is taking place/the issue and/or solution, so im always very aware of what is going on in my mouth. The staff are also very pleasant and friendly. Every time I come for a check up I am confident that Im in good hands.

Fantastic experience: I always get anxious going to the dentist. Dr Nathan Phan answered all my questions I had, explained to me what he was doing and was very caring and compassionate. As well as the lovely nurse who assisted him made sure I was okay throughout the whole procedure and technician/receptionist out the front was lovely.

Fantastic experience: Dental Essence provides outstanding dental services. Probably the best dental experiences I've ever had. Dr Nathan's approach is wonderful and this is the same for other staff at the practise too. Procedures are explained clearly and he has a real commitment to excellence in his work. While I can't really say I look forward to my dental procedures, I do feel at least that I'm receiving the best care possible at each visit with ample opportunity to ask questions and understand the detail behind my care plan.

Negative experience: The nurses were so very lovely but unfortunately I did not have a good experience taking my son to Dr Nathan. If your child is scared of the dentist and has special needs I would not recommend Dr Nathan as he did not react well when my son was crying and scared, he handled the situation unprofessionally. A bit of kindness and patience from the Dentist would of been appreciated in a stressful situation.

Fantastic experience: haven’t been to a dentist in over 14 years because i had a terrible experience taking my tooth out. Dr. Phan at dental essence along with the staff made me forget about that experience with the great job they did. I’ve had 2 fillings done by Dr. Phan the procedure was easy and painless also had my teeth cleaned by Bonnie the hygienist, she was very informative and gave lots of advice. Thanks guys.

Negative experience: Very disappointing, was lead to believe on the website that initial consultation was free, to be charged $55 for a conversation. Will not return

Negative experience: This dental surgery does not practice safe distancing, no protective glass between yourself and receptionist, no hand sanitizer. Never going back. They think they are immune to covid-19

Fantastic experience: I had a terrible experience with a dentist in my youth and then avoided dentists for forty years. I had to make an appointment recently and was very anxious and distrustful. I am so glad I did. Dr Phan is astonishing. His knowledge and expertise are first class. He explained everything in detail, provided options and was very wise and caring with his advice. He also provided regular, positive feedback during everything he was doing. In short, he was everything one could wish for. But wait, there’s more! His staff are also incredible. Danielle is so much more than a receptionist. I was in pain. She was very kind and understanding in organising a quick appointment and provided very helpful advice, clearly displaying a wealth of experience. The dental assistants were also extremely helpful and clearly well-trained. The team at Dental Essence dissolved forty years of distrust in one session. I am forever grateful. Fantastic experience: My whole family has been going to Dental Essence for several years now. Dr Phan makes you feel very relaxed, extremely informed and always goes through the procedure, or future treatments very thoroughly and presents the options. He never makes you feel rushed or pressured and is always willing to go over things if you are unsure. His approach is very professional, polite and kind. As a person who is petrified of dentists, and has avoided them, I feel reassured and at ease every time I go there. He also has put braces on my daughter where his attention to detail to second to none. Dr Phan always makes sure she is comfortable and knows what is happening ( which for a young lady getting dental work is extremely important ) and makes me feel very informed about every stage. In a emergency, his friendly office staff always do there best to give you an appointment asap and I have never waited long at all, on occasion have also received an appointment on Saturdays. The surgery is impeccably clean, the staff very friendly and helpful and has a very warm atmosphere. I would defiantly recommend Dr Phan and his team without hesitation.

I had a great experience with Dental Essence.The receptionist with whom I had spoken was extremely friendly, the dental practice is very modern and Dr Nathan Phan was extremely helpful and knowledgeable . I was so worried to see the dentist but his friendly approach and how he explains each step clearly, kept my worries away. Modern dental equipment at Dental essence also helped me to relax. Dr Nathan's approach to his patients is kind, polite and professional. I definitely recommend especially for some one has a fear of dentist.

Negative experience: I went to see Dr Phan and was in the process of having a filling and, when he injected the unaesthetic into my gum my heart beat soared to a frightening rate and my abdomen convulsed. I was obviously alarmed and all he could do was step back and say nothing. He had no idea what was happening or what to do. He then asked his junior nurse if she had ever seen this happen almost as though asking for her advice. After a few minutes the symptoms subsided and I asked him what happened. Dr Phan had no explanation. He then wanted to quickly complete the procedure and get me out because the filling took a minute to do and he then motioned that it was over. I sat up and still in shock asked if I should walk, drive, go on to work or see my Doctor as I had never had this happen before to which he answered "up to you". I asked other questions and he just couldn't manage the situation - he had no idea! I realised that he was out of his depth and had no plan of action or experience in risk management as well as people management. I went to work after the event and told people just in case there was something more to follow. It was very scary. I Googled dentistry, heart racing and convulsions and came up with a possible explanation that the anesthetic may have been injected into my blood stream and the adrenaline in the anesthetic caused my heart to race uncontrollably. There is a technique to avoid this happening and so I emailed the website and advice Dr Phan and advice that he may wish to undertake training in patient management and assurance. I heard nothing back from him. I have since been to another local dentist and have not had any issues. I have no confidence in Dr Phan as a result of this event or his management of me as a valued patient - and this is why I would not recommend his services even though his office appears modern and well equipped.

Fantastic experience: As a person who is apprehensive about anything dental related, I was quickly put at ease by the staff at Dental Essence. The reception staff were quite attentive and genuinely engaging with any needs I would have. The dental staff were just as attentive to any discomfort I have towards the dental experience. With regards to the procedure, I had a routine check and clean along with a fluoride treatment; each step taken with a manner of care and experience. I was not just a patient, but rather involved as an integral part of the procedure. Each course of action was explained so that I understood what was going on each step of the way relieving any tension or uncertainty. The professionalism really shows in this practice and I am looking forward to my next appointment.

Negative experience: Yeah I had some issues with this dentist. I was see by Dr.Phan. My wisdom tooth root pieces are still coming out after a couple of years. Ummm my friend had a crown done here, which completely fell apart. He was later told that the tooth should have not had a crown put on it. Poor, why is it so hard to find a good dentist ???

Fantastic experience: Ive been attending Nathans Dental Practice for several years. He is a competent, attentive, considerate and careful dentist. He is always prepared to spend time and explain dental conditions and required treatment. I have referred many of my family and friends to his practice since he was in the SIA medical Centre and they have all been decidely happy with him and his courteous and attentive staff.
