Fantastic experience: We’ve been visiting Dr. Sulojini Balakrishnan for over 10 years now, and even though we live quite far away, we continue to see her because we always feel assured and confident under her care. She’s one of the warmest and most efficient doctors we’ve ever met very thorough in her clinical practice and judgment, and wonderful with people. There have been many times when my kids were spared unnecessary treatments that other GPs had suggested, and at the same time, she has always been quick to escalate things that truly needed urgent attention. We’re so grateful for her expertise, honesty, and genuine care over the years.

Positive experience: Was seen 1 hour later than my scheduled appointment time. Was not given any notice or told at all whilst waiting this it was going to be so late.

Negative experience: Wow! The rudest receptionist I’ve ever encountered. Called for an appointment as my mum referred the clinic and I couldn’t remember the doctor’s name. Went to proceed to asked all these unnecessary questions only to mention at the end that they’re not taking any new patients and they’re fully booked and I should go somewhere else. Why bother to ask all the questions when you’re fully booked and not taking patients! Need to upskill receptionist on basic manners and phone etiquette. Her tone was extremely rude and sounded like I was causing her an inconvenience. I’m sorry, but is this not your job?

Negative experience: This morning, I called the receptionist at 8am to ask for 2 things, first one is the MEDICAL CERTIFICATE and since I need to talk to the doctor anyway, I also asked for the result of my blood test. The receptionist told me that she would check with the doctor and let me know if it can be done via phone consultation. However, I did not receive any text or call that confirm the date or time of appointment so I had to call again at 8:30am and only then, she confirmed the time of the PHONE CONSULTATION with me, which is "before lunchtime"?!. This is where things got funny, when I asked her that why it took so long to check with the doctor, she told me that it must have been SOMEONE ELSE who picked up the phone at 8am this morning and she did not know anything about it. Of course, I trusted her because I only found out after my heated conversation with the doctor that they only have ONE (1) receptionist. Therefore, this counted as the first time she LIED. The doctor called me at 11:05am and she only discussed about the blood result. I had a feeling that the receptionist had not told her everything so I asked the doctor about my Medical Certificate. Then the doctor put me on loudspeaker and the receptionist confirmed that I only booked the blood test. This is the SECOND TIME the receptionist LIED, because I mentioned TWO THINGS: "MEDICAL CERTIFICATE and blood test" during BOTH phone calls but only the doctor only receive one task. At this point, I told the doctor what happened this morning so she could see the frustration from my point of view. Then she started to accuse me of lying and wasting her time because the receptionist only told her about the blood test ???!!! Remember that the receptionist lied during the phone booking, doctor? Of course she would lie again because she is a PATHOLOGICAL LIAR. Just stop for once and look at the facts in front of you. Hey doctor, here's a fact for you to consider, when people are absent from work and need medical certificate, will they book blood test only or they book both? Which one is more important to them? A medical certificate that they are required to hand in by the end of today or a blood test result which they can get during the weekend? And this is how you treat your patients? By ACCUSING them of lying without revisiting the facts? Then she hung up the phone on me, which was very RUDE for a doctor. And none of my needs was fulfilled and of course, she still charged me. Nice! I want to be clear here. I don't mind going in the clinic if that is the requirement, however, if you want me to come in, you need to book a time with me so I can plan ahead and be on time to see the doctor. Because you already confirmed that "BOTH OF MY NEEDS (which is blood test result and medical certificate) can be done via the phone", therefore, as a normal person, I would not prepare to see you face to face. Why? Because if it can be done via the phone, why would I have to book another session to see you? And vice versa, if the law requires you to see me face to face for medical certificate, then book a FACE TO FACE appointment with me in the FIRST PLACE so we can do both things face to face. This is just common sense, man. Or is it because you want to DOUBLE CHARGE ME, one for phone consultation and one more time for face to face? If that the case, let me know so I can report you to Medicare for INSURANCE FRAUD and for being such a "GOOD" doctor. Lies after lies after lies... SHAME ON YOU.

Fantastic experience: I think they are excellent. There is bulk billing, and I can get an appointment on the day if I call. The staff are friendly and professional. I've never had to wait too long in the wait room. Couldn't ask for any more.

Negative experience: Had my appointment with Dr Shrivaney arrudsivah to get a referral. She didn't ask me half of the required questions listed on the referral itself just ticked No which meant that wasn't an accurate referral at all. Didn't believe me knowing my own medical history and didn't seem interested at all in assisting me. Would never reccomend ANYONE got to her even for something as simple as a referal. My partner has also had very negative experiences with her - she reccomended a medication that would interact negatively with their current ones despite knowing they were on the current medications..... she is a danger to her patients and explains why there is no wait time to see her.

Fantastic experience: I have been Dr Bala’s patient since 2012. She is a busy lady but very thorough and caring. I have had unexpected phone calls from her checking up on my progress. We have referred friends to Dr Bala and all are happy to travel to see her. A good GP is hard to find, we are very lucky to have her.

Fantastic experience: Dr Bala and team have been amazing to myself and my family for over 15 years (we've followed her across multiple locations!) - they go above and beyond the call of duty and we're always very grateful for their time and thorough consultation, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr Bala. This woman seriously needs some type of award or recognition for what she does!

Fantastic experience: The Doctors and staff are super knowledgeable and expereinced. They handle every case with care and kindness. No wonder they are so much in demand and thus appointments run late because so many patients like to be consulted. I have been seeing Dr Bala for 5 yrs, and through 2 pregnancies. She is intelligent, smart, gets intuitively my concerns and gives best advice. My best wishes to her and whole team.

Fantastic experience: Dr Sulojini Balakrishnan is great practitioner. She understands your issues and provide you with amazing professional treatment. Staff is also amazing and customer friendly. Even after being away from country, Dr provided great service for my new born over the phone.

Negative experience: I'm sure its Shrivaney Arrudsivah... the worst doctor I have ever come across... after reading other reviews I am not alone. She does not listen and is RUDE AND CUTS YOU OFF. She tried to deny me a covid vaccine when I was 4 months pregnant saying I didn't get my first one there (which I did but when through the much kinder other female doctor, was also my last straw with that woman) once complained of severe neck pain and she yanked my shoulder down and told me to relax. who on earth does that! You have zero people skills and should truelly be ashamed to call yourself a doctor.

Negative experience: I just called to make a booking on a Saturday. I have never had a receptionist be so rude. Treated me like a criminal for calling to make an appointment cause I’m unwell. I hope the owner of the practice listens to the way she treats patients.

Negative experience: Female Doctor is so rude she doesn’t want to listen the what other person trying to say. She thinks if she is a doctor she knows everything it was such bad experience. I went there twice because I hurt my back at work, my manager told me to get the report, however that doctor wasn’t ready to give me report and saying I don’t need report it’s not major she doesn’t think I need sick leave. She was just full of herself very room don’t trying to listen patients, before going there please make sure to book a appointment with other doctor rather than female doctors whose name start with S.

Fantastic experience: Dr.S.Balakrishnan is very caring often overflowed with established patients so not surprising if at times not able to take on more. Understandably not a matter of servicing numbers but quality of care. Thanks.

Fantastic experience: Long wait but worth it as I am a patient here

Positive experience: Terrible parking! The owner of 55 Rochester St, just opposit of the practice will call the ranger to book you a ticket even their drive-way cannot park or drive any vehicle (too small)! And they made the council to give NO PARKING sign to where this white car was parked on Google map. And they will curse you , and shout at you with ** words even you are already ticketed and have no attention to interact with them. Absurd and unreasonable signage from council will make you think you can park, and then they will give you a ticket. This area is not welcoming drivers. So do not stay, even spending time for a meal or shopping is not a smart choice. If you have the similar experince please like, so we can make more people to be aware of this.

Negative experience: This Medical Centre has the rudest receptionist. Few times I visited she was rude every time. Very poor attitude to people who are in need of help.

Fantastic experience: Doctors are very professional and very caring i personally have been seeing the same doctor for a long time some 11yrs plus very intelligent person.her diagnosis are spot on

Negative experience: I called for getting subscribed some medicine because I have a high fever and I can't leave my bed and they told me that I need to go to the pharmacy first to do some kind of test....very helpless!!

Negative experience: I went to this clinic for the first time and saw Dr. SHRIVANEY ARRUDSIVAH today. It was the worse and most unprofessional experience of my life with any Doctor. I told her I have been feeling stomach cramps since last night and it seems like it's food poisoning as I had food outside. She could not even give me Doctor's certificate for work for two days. Also, I have been an Asthma Patient since last 20 years of my life and asked for an asthma preventer. She did not even want to give me that and kept telling me your record doesn't show what dose you take. I said Its only a asthma preventer and she kept asking me what pharmacy I went to get that last time. I said it was in Ashfield. She kept asking the name. Who remembers the name of a pharmacy. So as I saw she was not being professional and did not show duty of care towards me like a doctor should, I left. Poor experience, poor client management on behalf of the doctor.

Negative experience: I don’t think they deserve any star but well here is 1. The doctors at this medical centre are extremely unethical to call themselves medical practitioners. They just refused to see me because I was a new patient and I had a bit of a cough. I explained to them that I had been having this cough for almost 7 days and mainly needs a certificate and see if I need antibiotic. I had done two PCR tests for Covid in the last 7 days with negative results. And I showed them the results. They told me they were concerned that I had Covid and therefore they couldn’t see me and also refused to do phone What really bad was when I called in the morning to book, they knew I was a new patient and not once told me that if I have flu symptoms, they won’t be accepting me so I could find another place. Really waste people time when the appointment is in late afternoon and it’s hard to get another appointment somewhere else. So I guess these doctors only accept patients to come to see them just to say hello so they can charge the money? I tried a different medical centre around the corner and I told them up front that I had the cough and they accepted me without even ask to see my PCR result. The reception at this new place was also so nice that she said to get better before I left.Honestly, even in the heat of Covid, I and I know many of people out there would keep turn up to work knowing that you would be mixing with many positives and we didn’t even show this kind of attitude let alone these people so called doctors. Seeing doctors like this, I honestly think the nurses that do the covid testing are true hero!

Negative experience: One of the worst experiences ever. These guys and specially the lady doctor here is very inconsiderate. I have made my telephonic booking like 10 times but never got called and Everytime I called the receptionist says the doctor will callback . Spent 500 dollars for a blood test and I am not able to get hold of it because these people are not able to call back even after taking multiple appointments. This is the worst I have experienced till now in Sydney. Very unprofessional.

Negative experience: I don’t write negative reviews usually...but this one I have to say something.I was seen by an Indian lady doctor that looked to be on her 60s plus .She was very Dismissive and passive aggressive.A dangerous attitude to have for a doctor who patients trust to help them get well.I would not recommend this clinic to anyone.Plus I have gone through the reviews,looks like other people have got the same complain of Rude passive aggressive and dismissive doctors.DO SOMETHING!!

Fantastic experience: During my pregnancy and post pregnancy, I have been visiting Dr. shivanie. She is exceptional, friendly and hears to u patiently. I would highly recommend her, for people living around Homebush suburb.

Fantastic experience: The practice has been doing a phenomenal job during the pandemic. So many other reviews have been unwarrantedly complaining about long waiting times, but Dr Bala and her team have been rolling out vaccines quicker than most practices in surrounding suburbs. I witnessed the nurses and other doctors being verbally harassed and talked down to, and it was truly disheartening to see our frontline healthcare workers being treated so poorly. In such a time, it is important to remember that everyone needs to work together, be patient and be considerate. Homebush Medical Practice still remains my go-to practice, with the best doctors in the Strathfield council region.

Negative experience: I have been calling the medical centre 10 times and there were no answer. I have been visiting the clinic for so many years and I am disappointed how they can treat a long term patient like me. All the admin staff and the doctors have just disappeared in this tough period and I am SHOCKED at their poor service.

Fantastic experience: Went their yesterday for a general check up. Waiting times were short and quick. The nurse and receptionist were extremely polite and helpful with everything i needed to be addressed. Would recommend to all.

Negative experience: I would not recommend this centre if you are an immigrant as we have been visiting from 2016 and we need a sign for form 1165 and they refused it. I was told that they cannot help. All of my friends got sign from their GP.

Negative experience: Very poor service provided by the two female Dr's at the medical practice and the waiting times are way too long. The Dr's are just rude, unprofessional and seem to only treat selective patients well.

Negative experience: **PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU ATTEND THE CLINIC** I am not one to write negative reviews but I feel like I need to share this so you guys are aware of what you are getting yourself into with one of the doctors. This happened a while ago. In 2016, my then doctor, Dr. Shrivaney, was unavailable so I had to see Dr. Sulojini. For a long time (since I was 13) I was suffering from endometriosis that greatly affected my quality of life. This was something my doctor was aware of, I was seeing a gynaecologist for and had taken scans for. Despite all this, when I had gone into the clinic to get a medical certificate for uni as I had been REALLY unwell, Dr. Sulojini did the following: 1. Blatantly told me that she did not believe I was in pain despite me being crouched over a chair while waiting for her to see me (plus doctor notes I am sure Dr. Shrivaney would've written down about our previous consultations). Is it really okay for a doctor to say this to a patient? 2. Told me to lie down so she can 'examine' me and asked me to undo my zipper so she can feel my 'abdomen'. 3. Told me to pull down my jeans further and then proceeded to say that she can't see a pad... I was very uncomfortable at this point and was almost crying. Is she not aware people wear tampons or thin pads, especially on the last days of their period? 4. Then she asked me to take my jeans off fully "to prove that I was actually on my period''... which I refused to do, for the sake of my dignity. She never asked me to lie down to actually examine me... it was her way of getting proof that I was on my period... Anyhow, I never went back to that clinic again. Dr. Sulojini humiliated me and it still triggers me so much, hence why I am writing this review. I did not visit another GP no matter how ill I was for another year or so because of my experience with her. Believe it or not, I was admitted to the hospital like 3 times (as I did not want to be seen by a GP) after my visit with her because of my endometriosis. I felt violated by her, and she obviously does not understand the concept of trust between a doctor and patient. If she did not want to provide me with a medical certificate, she could have just said so rather than humiliating me the way she did. Please do yourself a favour and NEVER get seen by her. I am still scarred from this experience.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience with both the doctors. They have sorted out the huge waiting times and its much better this year.

Negative experience: On separate occasions, my partner and I were both made to feel unwelcome and I was treated like a slacker for wanting a medical certificate. The doctor then put the details of my condition on the medical certificate. I now have the option of not being paid or my employer having specific knowledge of something that should be private.

Fantastic experience: I was really sick one day and turned away by a medical practice across the road from where I live. I was referred to Homebush Medical Practice by a friend, and they accommodated me. Dr S Balakrishnan immediately recognised the symptoms of a very serious illness and I was hospitalised. Yes, the waiting times are sometimes a bit long, but I always think that they might accommodate a really sick person like myself, a few years ago! If I had to vote for the best Dr in NSW, I’d vote for her!

Negative experience: I am regular patient here but I must say the waiting time is horrible. Every time I visit the clinic, I have to wait at least 30-50min. This must be improved!!!!

Positive experience: It’s a positive place to visit. Clinic maintains an accommodating and friendly environment.

Fantastic experience: Great small practice with friendly staff and good doctors. Easy to get an appointment, many times I've had to book last minute and they've always been accommodating.

Negative experience: I had an appointment with Doctor Shivani at 5pm. Waited for 1.5 hours which is ridiculous.

Negative experience: Receptionist said I’ll be next....... 30mins after I’m still waiting in the waiting room. Only one doctor at a time. Rude staff and the doctors here suck! Won’t be back. I don’t recommend to go to this medical centre, your better off going to the one near Homebush station. Although the receptionist there are rude also.

Fantastic experience: Friendly, helpful reception and doctor! I went at 10am on Friday without appointment and was seen almost immediately. The receptionist also helped me print out a claim form and took the extra step of pre-filling out the details without me asking. Dr Balakrishnan was kind and patient. I feel safe and well-treated in her care.
