Fantastic experience: After a not too good experience at another dentist a few weeks before wanted a second opinion and also needed part a filling fixed as was very rough in a spot. The dentist at Hbf joondalup was very good a would recommend them they took the time to explain options and didn't just want to jump to the most expensive option.

Negative experience: Don’t know who cold called me to book an appointment - I work away and I was very busy, managed to take the call and the way I was spoken to is horrid, I’ve been going here when I’ve had time in my schedule and now I’m not coming back. Please ensure that your receptionist are not snide or vitriolic - but more understanding, just because I am not able to confirm when I am free on the phone doesn’t mean comments like the ones made via phone are ok. Very disappointing and disrespectful. Whoever called me I hope you read this and fix your attitude.

Fantastic experience: I was quite pleased with the reception I received. I had a great experience with Dr. Sachita. Very kind and caring. Treated me with great care and precision. The entire procedure was smooth and comfortable. I truly appreciate her professionalism and highly recommend her to anyone looking for quality dental care.

Negative experience: Unfortunately the Receptionists on the front desk and their interactions with you, set the standard of service you get!! This particular receptionist ( with a South African accent) would have to be the rudest person you will ever have to come across. From the time you enter and are greeted by her abrupt couldn’t care less attitude, it goes downhill from there. Our adult daughter , who has a fear of dental procedure, had an appointment, which she attended, and the treating dentist was helpful etc and gave her a quote for what needed to be done…. But on returning to the desk, tried to use her phone to pay, and her ph froze..and she couldn’t get to her HBF and her banking details she needed to go out to her car and retrieve her drivers licence as the Rude receptionist refused to let her leave without leaving either her ph or drivers licence. Our daughter asked the other receptionist if she could use their ph to ring HBF. What a lovely person she was, helping our Daughter to ring HBF and enabling her to access her account, and then using her ph which was now working to pay the Bill. Total of the bill after HBF was was $35… WOW.. to be belittled and embarrassed by the rude receptionist for such a small amount was not good service. I realise that they do get people who do the wrong thing but you can’t be rude, and treat customers in that way. Our Daughter holds a high position in the Health department, and is a Supervisor for 35 employees, and if one of them treated any person the way the receptionist treated her, they certainly would not have a position any more. Suffice to say our Daughter will not be going back for the $350 procedure, which is a loss to your practice.

Fantastic experience: Very helpful and professional. Foudn a few issues I need to sort that I hadn't been told before at my other scale and clean appointments elsewhere. I'll definitely return to this dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lisa Tong is super amazing. Love her dentistry skills whereby there isn't a discomfort or pain when she's handling you. My family member goes to her too. She is professional, kind and skilful. My daughter once did extraction with her and to my surprise she wasn't afraid because she is confident with the doctor. Highly recommend Dr Lisa if you are there!

Negative experience: Welcoming staff and nice atmosphere but the dentist was very rough left with very sore gums and teeth. Could have been more gentle She had a nice attitude and all but just very rough when cleaning the teeth.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Nicole Low was absolutely fantastic with my 7 and 9 year-old children today. It was my 7-year-old’s very first dental visit and when an unexpected treatment was needed, Dr. Low patiently walked him through every step, making sure he felt comfortable and at ease. Her gentle approach and excellent bedside manner made it a truly positive experience. Her dental nurse was also wonderful, helping to keep us all at ease. I couldn’t have asked for better care. Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: Yesterday (Sunday 27 April) I needed emergency dental care. Due to extreme anxiety with dentists and never having a good experience and almost 20 yrs avoiding them, I was in near breakdown mode. Not only did the AMAZING nurse on reception treat me with so much compassion and kindness, the Dentist and Dental Assistant stepped up and were gentle, caring, patient and supportive. So much so, that with the teamwork of ALL 3 Ladies, I was able to complete the work that was required. At all times, each step was explained, and I was given enough time to process and steady myself to continue. Today I’m a little uncomfortable with tenderness, but nowhere near what I have experienced in the past. Thank you so much to you all. I’m still not looking forward to my next session, but because of you, I have enough courage to continue with my treatments. Thank you

Negative experience: Good for general check up and clean, but absolutely cannot recommend for anything beyond that. Want wisdom teeth out? Forget it. In November I booked a specialist consult for start of January. Had that, paid the consult, then was booked in for removal mid-March. In Feb I find out reception had booked me in with the normal dentist (found out on my own through their “next appointment” section in their EDMs), not specialist. I call up to find out that specialist has actually left - so they then asked me to see another specialist and expected me to foot the bill for another 10 minute consult with specialist #2. Pretty pathetic, when I had already paid and it’s not my fault their specialist left, and I wasn’t notified due to their booking error (which shouldn’t have even happened if you set up your system in a way that only XYZ dentists can be booked for ABC services…not hard). Absolutely no customer care from management when I had asked if this could be waived due to it being the fault of the clinic - “we’ll get back to you”. A week before this appointment, specialist #2 had left. I get booked in with specialist #3, yet again they expect me to foot the bill. Later that same day I then received a call saying that specialist can’t do it, so the normal dentist I saw will email me a referral for elsewhere…1 week later I still hadn’t received the referral (and am yet to, almost 2 months later), so I went elsewhere, where they were able to do it twilight no issues. Absolute complete joke being run around like this. Oh, and their pricing is ridiculous - several hundred dollar difference between them and where I had it done, AND they hadn’t even given a quote for the sedation cost itself. You would think booking direct would be better pricing. Will not be returning or recommending.

Fantastic experience: I had a great experience at HBF Dental Joondalup. I was made to feel comfortable and confident in the work being carried out. Will continue to attend on a regular basis.

Negative experience: So far we have waited for 20 minutes, two workers sitting on their backsides playing with computers, very unfriendly and unacccomodating not a smile on their miserable faces. I think they are asleep. Children (babies are not wanted here) If you did not have to wait so long there may not be a problem, why make an appointment? They do not care ( who ever they are.) 35 minutes and still waiting. Lmary had a little lamb

Positive experience: Five/5 stars for the dentists, but 1 star deduction for the IT. If you have appointments for a family, you get several automated reminders for every member. In some cases you receive more than 1 per person and on the day before a call, where you are asked to move appointments... The worst point: You canNOT opt out of these nonsense reminders.

Negative experience: Dentist has an extremely abrasive bedside manner. Asking me why my 7-year old gets teeth brushed twice a day and my 3-year old only once a day. Obviously talking more out of judgement than experience of having a boisterous 3-year old practice optimal oral hygiene. Spent five minutes here and hope I don’t have to ever come back.

Fantastic experience: The staff were really lovely and helpful both with queries and bookings. Dr Chan and his assistant made my procedure quick and painless even though my teeth were not always cooperating with them. The aftercare has been really good too. Many thanks again.

Fantastic experience: The young blonde receptionist gave me a very warm welcome. Also accommodating me with my needs to the right dentist Sid. She fitted me in because somebody was late for their appointment. So I could get quotes to get my teeth done early next month. I have never felt so important so kudos to her. Thank you so much keep smiling. Sid Mehta is a great dentist explained the procedure before he started. Once the extraction was done he explained how to heal the swelling and what will happen in the next procedure so very patient and informative so I felt comfortable with him doing my teeth I definitely will recommend him to my family and friends he has already seen my daughter whom I did recommend him to her she also was very pleased. Negative experience: Booked an appointment online, confirmed the appointment with one of the staff the day before of the appointment. However, when I went in, they said the appointment had been cancelled as they couldn't contact me to confirm it. When I mentioned I have confirmed it, the lady at the reception did not believe and continue to say that I did not confirm the appointment. This is the second time this happened. Never going there again. Such a waste of time!

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Brooke and she was excellent! She was firm but didnt make me feel inadequate. I was super nervous to go in to my appointment but she put me right at ease. The lady at reception was also amazing and I left the clinic feeling really at ease. Have already recommended this clinic to my friends because the experience was so great for me.

Fantastic experience: Dr Shivananda did an excellent job repairing one of my teeth which another dentist said could not be done. I highly recommend her. In the admin/IT area a few improvements could be possible. A week or so earlier I turned up, after I had made an appointment via the website, but nobody knew anything about the appointment and it had to be rescheduled. No big deal, but this is the only area where perhaps an improvement could be made. Although I have to say, these things happen and it is no big concern. I am now a happy HBF Dental Joondalup customer.

Fantastic experience: I don't enjoy going to the dentist. It comes with lots of anxiety for me and I am always reluctant. Yesterday I made an appointment with Dr Lisa Tong . I have never previously used Hbf Dental but ther was a spot available I booked. Dr Lisa turned out to be my best decision. I told her of my concerns my anxiety / phobia , she politely listened to me actually really listened. She was compassionate caring and 100 % genuine. I have spent 30 plus years of my life not liking to go to the dentist. If you have similar problems I highly recommend Dr Lisa Tong . A professional but a genuine person who actually will listen and care.

Fantastic experience: The staff are all super friendly and took the time to see what my gap would be for future appointments. Dr Yamuna was absolutely fantastic. It was the least painful scrape and clean I've ever had and she explained the process of what she was doing and what I should have done and why. She and her co worker were super friendly and passionate about their jobs, will definitely come back!

Negative experience: I don't recommend HBF Dental Joondalup. I booked an appointment here after a 20 year absence from dental. I explained to the receptionist that I was extremely nervous. I assumed she'd have told the dentist about this. I was called into the dental room by a lady who didn't identify herself. She had an "I don't care, I get paid regardless" demeanour. Before saying anything else or telling me who she is, she held out her hand and asked for my HBF card then left the room. A person cleaning the room creeped around behind me in a face mask not once saying 'hello' or telling me what she was doing. It was very uncomfortable. The lady came back with my card and said "this is invalid". I said 'its not invalid, I used a different credit card to make the monthly payment and it hadn't been processed yet'. I've been a HBF member for 20 years. All she had to do was call the HBF office in the same center. But no, the lady said 'I can't do anything until the payment is made'. I was so put off that I took my card off her and walked out. She turned out to be the dentist, a Dr P. She had no manners or bedside manner at all. From walking in to when I walked out, the whole experience was uncomfortable, unfriendly and unprofessional. I don't recommend this clinic to new patients or people who haven't had a dentist visit for a long time. There are plenty of other friendly dentists in Perth. My Mum was looking for a dentist shortly after this and I advised she avoid HBF dental. She's going elsewhere and is happy.

Negative experience: I have a real phobia about going to the dentist. I booked a consultation appointment as I knew I needed an extraction (which I definitely indicated when making appointment). Turned up to appointment only to be told that the dentist I was booked with did not have a time free to do it in the next few weeks (as I work away). What kind of service is this? Especially for someone that has an absolute fear of dentists and took me a lot of courage to even walk in there. I have no other words except disgusted and disappointed!! UPDATE: I found a lovely dentist, kind, caring, had all my work done, reassuring to know there are great dentists around!!

Fantastic experience: my dentist is Dr Abraham Al-Qaysi and i am constantly impressed by his professionalism. he has a great approach to patients, when he describes the procedure i feel enlightened rather than told, . a great experience all round

Negative experience: Booked an appointment online in the morning for a week away, had a call that afternoon "there was a system error and there is no dentist on at that time" , she recommended Saturday, which I couldn't do, so she recommended after talking to the dentist, the next day at 15:10, which I agreed to, I then received a text asking for it to be at 11:15 instead, which I replied yes to, I've just received a call and she said that there was a "system error online" (which I had booked this with her over the phone) and the appointment wasn't available. Wouldn't even bother booking, such a waste of time
