Fantastic experience: Excellent service. Great dentists

Fantastic experience: Had to move practises due to our private health insurance coverage. The reception staff were really helpful with booking my husband and I one after the other on the same day. We saw Dr Mallika for our general check up/cleans. She was really thorough, knowledgeable, her communication was great. Really happy with the service provided.

Negative experience: I took my daughter for her dental check-up and was told she needed an x-ray, which came with an extra charge $72. I agreed to it. Then the dentist said her teeth was very crowded and needed a Panoramic x-ray that's cost $111 additional so they could send it to the orthodontist for a consultation. Again, I agreed and paid the additional out-of-pocket cost. However later on, when we were at the orthodontist, they told me they haven't received any x-rays and had to redo all of them on the spot — free of charge. This made me feel like I paid for x-rays that were never needed and my daughter had to be exposed to radiation all over again and very concerning. Overall, it was a very unprofessional and misled for paying the Panoramic x-ray.

Fantastic experience: Tooth extraction. Got in very fast and the dentist was great. A lot less pain than and quicker than expected.

Negative experience: They send you back when 10min late but make you wait when they are running behind for more than 25min. Would not recommend it but no choice because we have madibank insurance.

Negative experience: Absolutely awful. First they forgot I was waiting and left me for 40 minutes until I told them I had to go, then the dentist cut my mouth badly doing an xray, then quoted me $1248 to fix my broken filling, told me how all of my teeth had problems and they had to fix at least 2 teeth, which they didn't have time to do because they had forgot about me... so I went to a different dentist practice who didn't forget about me, didn't cut me, didn't make me feel bad, and fixed the broken tooth for $234. This place is dreadful. Stay away.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend this practice. We were greeted by a dental nurse at reception who was very helpful and friendly, was willing to listen and understand our situation, and very knowledgeable on how the practice can help. Dentist Dr Agarwal is so lovely and professional, she helped my daughter feel at ease during the appointment. Exceptional customer service, displaying an understanding of customers to ensure the best outcome. Will always go back to this practice.

Negative experience: I went to Pacific Smiles in Tuggeranong ACT for a clean and check of my teeth as they provide a gap free service through our private health insurance. The clean was the most incomprehensive clean iv ever had (very very quick), Then proceeded to take photos and xrays to add onto the no gap claim which i didnt feel i needed. They then advised me that i needed a filling which after the clean i received, i didnt trust this assessment. I then went back to my usual dentist who told me the area of tooth that apparently needed a filling was in fact a filling. If i hadnt sought a second opinion, they would have drilled into a perfectly good tooth. I have heard so many other stories of people getting fillings from pacific smiles that were never needed. The entire experience felt like a complete money grab and were trying to get as much from the health provider as they could. I would NOT recommend going to this dentist and if they suggest you need a filling PLEASE get a second opinion before going ahead with any work.

Negative experience: Booked a visit as I had pain in my tooth and was sure I needed a filling. Female dentist had attitude for some reason had a look at my teeth gave me an xray and then told me she can’t tell me anything until I have a full mouth xray. I then asked but can you see any cavities at this point she then arrogantly told me again she can’t tell me anything until I Have that full xray, which she was kind enough to tell me will be cheaper if I went elsewhere and gave me a referral. What a waste of over $200 I will not go back. I have booked at another dentist and will have to pay that again. What kind of dentist refuses to tell you if you have cavities or not!

Fantastic experience: Dr Lim is easily the best dentist that I've ever had. Dr Lim is polite, caring, informs you of what is happening, and is extremely gentle - unlike many other dentists. I no longer cringe when it is time for a dental check up.

Fantastic experience: First time appointment. Online booking was easy. Receptionist called on day of appointment to confirm. She communicated clearly. COVIDSafe precautions observed at reception. Dr Shah and assistant were polite, communicated clearly, undertook a thorough examination, and recommended me to a specialist rather than offer services that would be unhelpful. They exceeded my expectations. 30 May 2024 appointment Regular check-up and clean. Dr Shrestha, her assistant, and reception staff all very professional. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Highly recommend Dr Lim, she is down to earth, explains her treatment all the while completing work, making you feel less anxious and totally involved in what is going on. Will definitely be going back to see Dr Lim.

Fantastic experience: I went in with a sore tooth and got an appointment with Dr Shah. She explained what was wrong and walked me through the problem. I had to go back to get the fillings done and she did an excellent job. She checked on me constantly to make sure everything was going ok and was very gentle and considerate that she was working on an actual person, not just a mouth. I have to go back and see her again and get more fillings and I am not dreading the experience.

Positive experience: After my appointment at approximately 12pm, I stood waiting at reception for a good 20 seconds before either receptionist looked up. When 1 did, - don't know her name as she didn't have her name badge on - the older 1, she looked at me and said, "Can I help you?". No smile, hello nothing. She was not on reception when I arrived. I explained to her I wasn't sure if I have anything to pay for. She looked at me incredulously, asked my name and proceeded to tell me I owed $70. I was not expecting to pay anything, as I thought a filling I had done recently at Pacific Smiles had fallen out. She said "well I don't know I wasn't in there". She was very rude and I told her so. All the other receptionists there are very happy and pleasant. I was in the dentist chair for 5 minutes and had to wait 10! I was charged $70 to be told that no, your filling didn't fall out!! Very quick visit, and very unpleasant.

Fantastic experience: Dr Madhu was very professional and looked after my dental requirements very well. She clearly explained what were the issues and how they can be resolved. She also performed filling in the same appointment as it was urgently needed. I highly recommended her and the clinic as I found other staff are very polite and friendly.

Negative experience: The promotion deal is misleading. I have clearly said that I only book appointment if there is no out of pocket payment. But seems they still don't understand it. Terrible communication. It goes nowhere. Time waster.

Fantastic experience: I hate visiting the dentist full stop! Especially for emergency procedures. However, at Pacific Smiles they cared, they arranged prompt consultations, the staff were very helpful, professional and kind. It was nice to have the situation, X-rays, treatment and specialist details all explained thoroughly and clearly. Made my visits more bearable and we litterally got to the root of my problem quickly and efficiently. Thank you.

She talked him through the entire process and explained everything which is SUCH A BRILLIANT process, he felt so relaxed he actually fell asleep, this is from a child on the spectrum who almost always spirals and is anxious. Cannot recommend Dr Lim highly enough ! Please don’t ever leave !!!!

Negative experience: Called up at 8:30 when they first opend for a dental emergency as the Pacific Smiles website claims "We understand that patients who are genuinely in a dental emergency need priority attention. That’s why we keep some space available in the appointment books every day for patients requiring an emergency dentist." to then be told by reception, sorry, we are fully booked no available appointments today. I had to reiterate that this was not for an appointment but for a dental emergency and got the same response.

Fantastic experience: I don't understand the 1 star reviews. People in Canberra can be so demanding. I saw Dr Sutreja and honestly she provided excellent care for me. The receptionists were also quick in responding to request for a copy of the imaging that I've taken at their practice. I would have no hesitation booking with them again.

Negative experience: Online booking didn’t work. Never responded. Had to walk in to make booking. Took over a month to book in for a clean and polish. Receptionist seemed reluctant to assist. I should’ve known it was a sign. Got phone call 3 days before appointment to be told dentist doesn’t want to work back that late on day I had booking. Provided unsuitable reschedules so won’t be trying to rebook. Please don’t put a post reply to this saying how would I like to be contacted to provide feedback.

Fantastic experience: had an appointment with dr shah earlier today for a cleaning and could honestly say it was probably my best experience at the dentist ever. she was very kind and explained every step she did and also checked that i wasn't feeling any pain. she was also the most gentle dentist ive ever had - my previous experiences consist of dentists ripping very harshly right into my gums with no care whatsoever and I went in expecting to come out with very sore gums but I didn't! so this was very refreshing change. also props to her assistant who was also kind, and also a very friendly reception :)

Negative experience: So disappointing, have been with Pacific smiles for years. I have just called to make an appointment and got hang up on. Called again and made a joke about it, when lady cut me off and didn't even acknowledge what she has done. Not sure that is the way to talk to people. Really sad that I have to look for new dentist now.

Fantastic experience: I have a great fear of going to the dentist. Dr Shamsi Kiran and her Dentist Assistant, Tamara, made me feel calm, relaxed and they were patient and understanding. They did not rush me but let me take my time. They are very professional and caring and I highly recommend them to anyone who has a phobia of dentists. Thanks to this amazing team, I am starting to overcome my fear. Everyone there has been amazing including the friendly receptionist Claudia, who always greets with a great big smile and a warm welcome. Best dentist ever

Negative experience: The dentist my wife visits is great. However, let down by her experience calling the reception today to make a booking. Poor service, impatient and just was not friendly on the phone.

Negative experience: More like "Pathetic Smiles". If you want your appointment cancelled and then given no certainty for another appointment on the same day then this is the dental practice for you. They had one dentist working and prioritise treatments that make more money for them. They tried to tell me they have other "emergency fillings" booked in.There is no such thing as a pre booked emergency filling. Don't waste your time taking time out of your schedule and go somewhere professional instead.

Negative experience: Without a doubt I had the worst dentist I have ever encountered. I have a phobia of dentists and went to either have a tooth repaired or filled. Eventually the tooth was filled with a temporary filling, but not before one of the injections seemed to be inserted in the jaw and hurt like nothing I had ever felt before. The dentist wanted to refer me to Specialists because she said she could not remove a tooth. The upshot is that I now have a constantly aching mouth, teeth are sensitive to hot and cold, which was not the case before my "treatment" and I will now have to find another dentist to rectify the damage. I was about to find another dentist to rectify the damage when the infection again flared up and I looked like Elephant Man. 3 courses of potent antibiotics later the swelling is down, the infection nearly gone except I cannot open my mouth fully without severe pain.

Fantastic experience: Dr Vincent Tran was fantastic. He listened to my fears, was very gentle and careful, and my teeth look great. And as a Bupa private health member, my checkup and clean were free. People on the front desk were friendly and helpful and made my appointment straight away. A great experience. Highly recommended.

Negative experience: I've been to the Tuggeranong, ACT centre a few times and always had a good experience. But the last visit was not a good experience at all. I had a 8:30 appointment and was left waiting for 15 minutes. The majority of staff arrived 8:30 sharp, even my Dentist. Some staff arrived after 8:30. The general checkup and clean was very rushed and the mannerism of the assistant was very poor. Needless to say I'll be seeking another Dentist.

Negative experience: I had a check up and clean with Dr Vincent Tran yesterday, and during the service I experienced quite a lot of pain during the scaling part of the process (when he picked between my teeth before the toothpaste process), and I actually had trouble sleeping last night due to pain in my gums and tooth sensitivity. I’m still feeling pain in my gums today, and there appears to be quite a few tears and abrasions on the skin of my gums that were not there before my painful appointment. I have regular dentist appointments and have for a long a time, and I understand that that part of the procedure can be uncomfortable, but I have never experienced that much pain before, and have certainly never experienced pain the next day, which makes me think that this must be unusual, particularly because I have quite a high pain threshold. While I’m pleased that my teeth are clean and healthy, perhaps in future Dr Tran should take more care to avoid this pain for his patients.

Fantastic experience: My dental visit was a a very pleasant experience. The front desk was friendly and helpful. My dentist, Dr Lim MY was the most gentle, courteous and thorough dentist I have ever seen. She knew what needed to be done and provide helpful education on my following steps and oral care. She would be one of my best recommendations.

Not only was I squeezed in at the last minute the receptionist Kathryn was very polite and professional both on the phone and in person and my dentist Madha(?) Was very informative and friendly, she took the time to explain in detail what was needed and listened to and answered all questions I had. I won't go anywhere else but here from now on. Highly recommend.
