Negative experience: The old lady receptionist with the silver bob hairdo needs a lesson in customer service like yesterday. I came in right after opening, in severe pain asking for an appointment. She was really rude and abrupt, and not at all sympathetic to my situation. After explaining why I was there she told me to go buy some Sensodyne toothpaste. I'm sorry but is she a dentist?! Will not be recommending this practice to anyone.

Fantastic experience: My experience was fantastic from start to finish x Ann was fantastic - explaining everything in fine point to calm my nerves then Thomas was exceptional .. he has a calm manour that helped on the day where i would normally have been anxious and fearful both Thomas and Ann showed care and compassion to someone who would normally have been a mess. If you ever need and extractions done - Thomas is the dentist you want to be doing the work for you xx well done guys !!! Aaaaa++++

Fantastic experience: Dr Ann Pham fantastic dentist, gentle and informative, takes her time and doesn’t rush the process. I have a few very sensitive teeth, she stopped to give a quick break when needed so not to cause too much discomfort. Appt was for a checkup and clean. Plus there was no out of pocket for this with my health fund!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I’ve had several disappointing and upsetting experiences with Pacific Smiles, and it’s completely shattered my confidence in dental visits. One of the most unsettling parts was witnessing the receptionist being extremely rude and dismissive toward the dentist right in front of patients. It created such an uncomfortable and unprofessional atmosphere that I actually pulled the dentist aside afterward to check if she was okay. To make matters worse, during my appointment the dentist accidentally broke a tool while working on my teeth. This led to further complications, and I had no choice but to seek help from another clinic to fix the issue — which ended up costing me several thousand dollars out of pocket. Since that experience, I’ve genuinely developed a fear of going back to any dentist, and I’m still dealing with ongoing issues as a result. It’s been stressful, upsetting, and something I wouldn’t wish on anyone else. Based on my experiences, I can’t recommend this practice and would strongly encourage others to consider alternative options for their dental care.

Negative experience: Dr Keyes is a very arrogant man and told us not to ever come back for being less than 10 mins late because of my teenage son. I see in these reviews, that I’m not the only person he’s said this to. Also, Kerry, the older receptionist with the glasses and blonde bob hairstyle is rude/abrupt and needs training in how to talk to people. Would advise to others to give this place a wide berth.

Negative experience: The employee with the grey bob at the front counter initially booked my appointment but failed to confirm my phone number. When I arrived, she was rude and told me I was "lucky" to still have my appointment because they couldn’t reach me. She insisted it was my responsibility to update my contact details, but I explained that it’s standard practice for staff to confirm contact information — especially when making a booking. This led to some back and forth, and I felt extremely uncomfortable with her attitude. While I was filling out paperwork, I noticed she was polite and friendly to other patients. It became clear to me that she was capable of being kind — just not towards me. As someone who wears a hijab, I couldn’t help but feel that her behaviour may have been influenced by that, as she was only warm and welcoming to patients who didn’t wear one. I was very close to walking out. I felt unwelcome and disrespected, and would have informed my local Muslim community that Pacific Smiles Strathpine may not be a safe or inclusive space for us. Thankfully, the dentist and dental assistant were lovely — they were kind, professional, and reassuring. They told me that she can be like that with everyone, but it still raises the question: why is someone with such a dismissive attitude representing the business at the front desk? I will return because of the excellent care from the dentist and assistant, but I will not be looking forward to another interaction with that particular staff member. I have also submitted a formal complaint regarding this experience. Alicia

Negative experience: Dentist is away. When you need treatment. You have about a 2 weeks wait. Bad service. Stay away from this place. Frustrating and gives you the run around. Poor service and lame excuses.

Negative experience: Have been coming to this practice for a number of years. Very disappointed yesterday to have my appointment cancelled as I was 10 minutes late. On previous visits I have waited patiently because dentist was running late. This was actually a rescheduled appointment to suit the dentist. I acknowledged that I had the appointment time wrong, but was not expecting they appointment to be cancelled. I have never missed an appointment without notice or been late on any other occasion. Very disappointing outcome. Reception staff excellent only the messengers.

Negative experience: Kerry at the front desk is rude and should not be talking to customers. Why would anyone go to a dentist where the first person you talk to has no customer service skills and a rude demeanour.

Fantastic experience: Dr Ann Made me feel comfortable getting my first tooth pulled and had it out really quickly with no pain. The team also got me in really quickly and after dealing with a major hidden cavity for years it was a huge relief to have it delt with just hours after first contacting them. Price was pretty fair too

Negative experience: Terrible service- constantly cancelling and rescheduling my appointments for my children. Receptionist (older lady) very rude and unhelpful. Asked for help as I didn’t understand the fees, she rolled her eyes and got annoyed. Never again! This is not the first time unfortunately.

Fantastic experience: great service and awesome friendly staff

Negative experience: Will be finding a new dentist once my son gets his crown. I have no intention of giving this practice any more of my money. I have a gut full and have held off from saying anything for so long because my son is still being treated for a single root canal and crown after almost 4 months. I have had multiple issues, including trying to charge me an extra $500. Apologies are great, but the time that I have spent trying to make appointments to finalise this, I will never get back. Imagine spending thousands of dollars for a service that hasn't been great, to say the least.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience with the reception team, particularly an older lady who works on Sundays. I had an appointment at 10:00 AM and arrived five minutes early. Despite this, she rudely told me to leave, saying they weren't open yet. When I booked the appointment, I had confirmed with the admin team that my insurance would cover the costs, and I wouldn't need to pay out of pocket. However, on the day of my appointment, I asked this receptionist to double-check, but she seemed uninterested in doing so. After my check-up, she suddenly informed me that there was a $40 gap fee. When I calmly questioned the charge, she responded in a very rude and unprofessional manner. Finally, I had to call the doctor to sort out the issue myself. Even as I was leaving, her tone and attitude remained unpleasant and unprofessional. If working on weekends is too stressful, I suggest she reconsider her availability or that the clinic hire more staff to manage the workload. This was a pathetic experience, and I hope the management takes steps to improve customer service.

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Parisa today to help me fix my bite. Honestly I was probably the most annoying patient she had all day cause I have sensory issues and I was a crying mess but she fixed it. I am sooo incredibly greatful to her and her assistant because I know a lot of other dentists would probably just turned me away but she listened to my problem and now I can eat again after a terrible three days. Thank you guys for being so patient with me.

Negative experience: I booked in here as a new patient a couple of months ago as I work nearby. Arrived right on time. The receptionist gave me a whole stack of registration forms on the one clipboard (wouldn't you just take off one for each patient). 10 minutes later he came out and told me I had to see a different dentist to what was booked. Dentist popped out and looked at me with no warmth or smile. 30 additional minutes had passed and no one had come to collect me. First impressions count, and I found this to be unprofessional. I felt super uncomfortable, so I had to walk out.

Fantastic experience: I recently had a positive experience with Dr. James at Pacific Smiles Strathpine. He was easygoing and straightforward, making my visit comfortable and efficient. I would recommend him to others seeking dental care.

Negative experience: I used to recommend this brand but after the rework I had to have done at North Lakes (filing was too high and the dentist didn’t believe me til I had to go back and have it re done from pain) and now my experience here I will not return. I had an appointment with Dr Park for a check up and clean which was great as I’m really nervous at dentists, they said I did not need any work done besides a crown on 1 tooth. This was amazing to hear because I often need a few fillings. Then the next day a tooth felt broken, I booked to go back and saw Dr Ghanavi who advised I needed a lot of work done and that it was “chartered last time you were here so I don’t know why you think that”. I was very upset, had my tooth fixed which she did really well with, then I asked to see the chart from my appointment last week. She was unable to get it printed apparently then I realised it’s because she was looking at a chart from 2022 but was trying to convince me it was from last week (I could see the date on the screen), last week’s appointment nothing was charted. I have a lot of dentist trauma and I always explain this when I go somewhere new but this tells me they have no idea what they’re doing. I left survey feedback, asked for a call and never got one. Won’t be back to any of the franchise locations again.

Negative experience: A one star is to generous. This practise is the worst from the reception staff little old dear with Bob hair is so rude and arrogant to the dental team that really do not care. There is no customer service sending out text messages for us the patient to reschedule the appointment. What is with James Keys you cannot keep any of your appointments but the worst thing is receiving a text message that is as the patient have to call to reschedule ‍♀️ you have got to be joking. Such a pathetic practise.

Negative experience: This dentist will do nothing but ruin your teeth. If they recommend work to be done, I recommend you get a 2nd opinion before you fork out $$$.

Negative experience: Went today with my adult son. We were late but had rang 4hrs earlier to explain the situation and was told as long as I could make it by 4.30 it would be ok.we struggle with appointments due to work commitments never know what time we will.ginish.. but today waked in the door and James just started on us about being late he was even ready to punch my son who was being very polite but when he kept yelling at me after being asked to stop my son gave it back to him.Consequently we are now band from the practice. I could not believe his performance so unprofessional. And I do agree with one of the other comments Kerry needs to learn how to speak to customers. Since Michael has left there is know one I would want to work on my teeth. Glad to start shopping around for a more family friendly practice, I would also like to say if you have had a bad experience refer it to AHPRA as they have a record of all issue's and will deal with them.

Negative experience: Dr James Key was supposed to inform me of choices around a root canal, but decided he didn't like me and never called back. He is an arrogant man who apparently thinks he can pick and choose patients, but will not be held accountable via a promising new communications and information tool called "the internet".

Fantastic experience: I had an appointment with Dr Parisa Ghanavi and it was by far the best experience I've had at a dentist. She was professional, kind and very caring. Definitely will recommend her to anyone looking for a good dentist.

Fantastic experience: First time here today, extremely anxious about dentists after numerous bad experiences but Dr Shilpa was amazing, patient and gentle. Reception staff also delightful and very helpful. Very confident to book my next appointments here after such a good experience! Updated to add: have had another visit but was unable to see Dr Shilpa, instead saw Dr Parisa who was amazing, extremely gentle and very patient with my 'clicky jaw' needing the occasional break in proceedings. Very happy to recommend Pacific Smiles Dental at Strathpine.

Negative experience: RUN!!! This franchise will butcher you, do nothing about it and tell you to put your big boy pants on while they turn you away. My partner can't sleep, eat or even drink water since having a tooth extracted on Saturday. He's been back twice in absolute agony and has now seen a total of 3 dentists at the same practice that have all given different and conflicting post care advice. The old receptionist Kerry needs a refresher on how to speak to people, especially those with a voucher (these patients are not lesser than!), the practice manager should consider a career change as she is also completely incompetent when it comes to conflict resolution and prefers to hang up rather than her job. The entire practice needs a staff overhaul/retrain/replace. The culture at this practice is disgusting. I would give negative stars on this review if it would let me!

Fantastic experience: If dentists can be described as a great place to go, this is one that can. All the staff are really pleasant and my dentist James is very caring and explains all parts of the procedures. We have lots of laughs and chatter. Definitely keeps you relaxed.

Negative experience: Dr Shilpa caused as much damage to my partners teeth as they fixed. Chipped a large piece of tooth during extraction and didn't mention the damage. Very negligent behaviour, looking into what further action can be taken.

Negative experience: I had a negative experience at this place and wanted to share my feedback. The receptionist with short hair who was working on 1st of July 2023, was rude and disrespectful when I asked about the teeth whitening options. She seemed dismissive and even questioned my question. I politely mentioned that there are several types of teeth whitening available and asked if she was busy. Although she didn't seem interested in helping me at all. I am writing this review to bring this issue to the attention of the manager. I hope they can improve their customer service in the future. Unfortunately, I have decided to go somewhere else for my teeth whitening needs.

They were both very welcoming and did a great job with my check up/clean. The reception lady was very nice too (didnt get her name). Overall a great service, especially for someone who is usually quite nervous when it comes to dentists. Thanks guys

Negative experience: Mixed experience here. Want in for 6 monthly check up and clean and chipped tooth repair. Did a great job on the chipped tooth repair, but several days later stated getting gum pain that got worse. Went back, saw a different dentist, and was told it was food trapped in the gum and recommended to use a mouth wash. I was sceptical as in 61 years never had that happen and it happened just after a check up, a bit of a coincidence I thought. Immediately went to a different dentists who diagnosed a breach of the gum and there was pus, so it was infected. He said it likely happened during the cleaning process at the other dentist and he put me on an anti biotic. I don't mind too much that the first dentist at Pacific Smiles made a mistake but it rankles that they misled me in stating that it was trapped food. I think he probably knew what had happened and didn't want to admit it. Won't be going back there for that reason.

Fantastic experience: These stars are for Dr Michael and his Dental Assistant. They were great! Super friendly and made me feel very comfortable for my first dental appointment in over 10 years. The practice staff could be a bit more welcoming and friendly, but I would 100% recommend going to see Dr Michael regardless!

Fantastic experience: I really like this dentist! I’ve had bad experiences in the past with painful cleaning and fillings at other dentists. But this place was great. My dentist, Aaron, was friendly and gentle with the procedures. The dental hygienists that I’ve had on the two occasions have been very friendly. And the front desk customer service is wonderful as well. Highly recommend this dentist!

The dentists are friendly, reassuring and explain treatment well! Michael is great with children, my kids love going to see him for cleans!

Negative experience: Not a great experience. Attended for my 6 month checkup and clean. About 80% of the appointment was spent trying to up-sell extra dental work with a brief and awful clean for the last 10 minutes. Not sure if it's a cultural issue or not but I felt like I'd attended a sales pitch rather than a dentist visit. Would rather my local dentist 20 minutes away (closer to home) than attend this dentist. Pity as it's only 5 minutes from my work site.

Negative experience: Service is terrible. They don't man the front reception desk they only provide a bell to get their attention. Although they seem to ignore the bell as i waited 15 minutes for someone to come out to serve me. I was then told 15 minutes after my appointment that the dentist was running 15 minutes late. Meaning I'd see the dentist 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and 45 minutes after I'd arrived. There was no apologies about the delay, in fact, the receptionist was rude and condescending. They offer no gap dental and I still would not recommend.

Fantastic experience: I have visited this clinic many times and always had a great experience. The ladies at the front desk are polite and well spoken and the dental assistants are gentle and make the experience as good as visiting a dentist can be! Dr Michael is great. He is well spoken, explains what hes doing and takes breaks to ask if you're comfortable and if we're okay to keep going. The prices are cheaper than other clinics and i will continue to visit this practise.
