Fantastic experience: Have been coming to A Better Dental for a few years and cannot recommend Dr Maty & his staff any more highly. I've had an extreme aversion to sitting in the dentist chair since I was a child but have found in this practice excellent care & communication. Today I had a check & clean performed by dental hygienist Katy who was super gentle & explained everything during the process. Katy was assisted by the equally gentle Diya. Great team, great practice.

Negative experience: I had one slightly broken tooth with no pain at all when I first visited this dentist. She advised me to get a filling, and trusting her as a professional, I agreed. She also insisted on two cleaning sessions within a month, which I don’t believe were necessary, but again, I trusted her advice. During the second visit, she ended up breaking more than half of my already broken tooth. What was previously painless has now turned into constant pain in 4–5 teeth for the last two weeks. Before coming here, I had zero pain. After the filling, she herself told me, “Now it will hurt, and we may need a root canal.” This feels like a setup for unnecessary procedures and money-making at the cost of patients’ health. It’s extremely upsetting to go to a dentist with no pain and leave with daily toothaches. I truly hope that dentist feels the same pain I am going through now, so she understands what she put me through. Please be very cautious before trusting this clinic.

Fantastic experience: Dr Mathy and his team have all been amazing. His understanding and compassion and professionalism has changed my view on dental care for ever. I have been very dental phobic for many years. However I now have a confident smile and will always happily return for ongoing care to the practice. I can 100% confirm that they are a kind, compassionate, and a very professional dental practice and they are always willing to help out and look after their patients to the best of their abilities. Chabna, one of their lovely receptionists, is an absolute gem, incredibly compassionate and has seen me through all of my appointments and she brings a warm energy to the patients that visit them. Dr Matthy is a whizz and has managed to fix up my teeth, where I previously thought it wouldn't be possible. Fantastic experience: I’ve been a loyal patient of Dr. Mathy for almost 15 years, and I can’t recommend him highly enough. He is an incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and caring dentist who always makes me feel at ease. I recently had a root canal and crown done, and I’m beyond satisfied with the results. The procedure was done to perfection, and I felt no discomfort throughout. Dr. Mathy also provides excellent advice on prevention and ensures that I understand the best ways to take care of my teeth. On top of that, his pricing is very reasonable, which is hard to come by for such high-quality care. The reception staff, particularly Predeeni, are always polite, provide excellent follow-up, and are great at scheduling appointments that fit my needs. Overall, I’m always impressed by the care I receive at Dr. Mathy’s office and wouldn’t trust anyone else with my dental health. If you’re looking for a dentist who truly cares, look no further!

Fantastic experience: My husband has ben attending this practice for many years and even though we have two dentists within 50 metres from our home, it is well worth the 45 minute drive for us both to go to A Better Dental Care. I have recently had major dental work - two implants and 8 crowns. I didn't bother shopping around for prices as I trust Dr Mathy and his collegaues implicitly. Dr Mathy has gone a great job with my work, he is very professional , always happy to discuss the care and treatment snd the reception staff are also very friendly. I sm veryhappy with this practice. They are always very willing to accomodate a last minute booking if needed and if they can, but a very busy practice can only do what they can do given the number of loyal patients who already have bookings. I would thoroughly recommend this practice to anyone seeking expert dental treatment. Thank you all most sincerely for the wonderful work you have all done.

Negative experience: Not impressed with this place at all! Made an emergency booking on Saturday, explained to receptionist the problem. Saw the Dentist and there wasn’t enough time to fix my issue. Came out the same way I went in! Still in alot of pain! Just paid for them to tell me they can’t do anything today! Why make the booking then??

Negative experience: So disappointed today. Yes I have missed appointments and called to cancel current booking This is due to my health and to be told I should shop elsewhere is the feeling given I will pass on to all in Berwick vicinity… I really thought they actually cared.. my wrong!

Negative experience: Booked my appointment 6 months in advance and they cancelled it just week before the appointment date. So i rang and asked what happned receptionist said Dr. Mathy is not available on that day. So i said ok,book me for next available date on sat. she booked me in 2 months time, and again same excuse that Dr. Mathy is not working on that day so i asked why did not you booked me the day he was working she said we only booked tentatively. So according to them my time was not that important at all and so as my appointment. So i asked what can you do now. She said we don't know when we can book you in future on sat. I suggested that you should have booked me twice in consecutive Saturdays.She did not even suggested or put any efforts in. so after that i said i will try somewhere else she said ok. Pathetic service. Hope Dr. Mathy can read this and understand how his regular clients are mucked around.

Fantastic experience: I have been going here for the past 2 years and it's the best dental place I have ever been to. Dr Mathi is the funniest dentist around and also very good at what he does. I most recently had to undergo wisdom teeth removal for 3 tooths. I chose to do this procedure awake with only numbing injection. Dr Mathi talked me through the whole process and was incredible during the procedure. I didn't feel anything. I brought my headphones to my appointment, listened to my favroutie audiobook and the whole procedure went flawlessly. The pain and swelling the weeks following were bearable and wasn't as bad as the horror stories I have heard from others who have been to other dentists. The reception staff and nurses are all really great too! They are very friendly and welcoming. They also make sure you keep up with your dental care by reminding you to schedule in appointments and provide advice about after procedure care. Just give them a call! They also accept insurance if you are covered by any dental care insurance. All in all, this place is great and I never thought I would be someone who actually looks forward to their dentist appointments!

After living with Odontophobia (an extreme/irrational fear of going to the dentist) ever since a horrific experience in my early 20’s, I was faced with a life changing problem. I was always a Coffee drinker and smoked cigarettes; so, I had always tried to take care of my teeth. Alas, with a lifetime of abovementioned bad habits, along with ageing and childbirth, my teeth disintegrated. At age 52 years I was forced to face my fear; as my dental work from all those years ago had finally come undone. Fortunately, I had been taking my son regularly to A BETTER DENTAL CARE; as he required dental braces and this is where I met the most AMAZING TEAM!!! My son consulted with Orthodontist DR THAMARAI, who was a patient, caring and an extremely knowledgeable lady and the end result was fantastic for my son! Knowing I desperately required dental work, I took the plunge and booked an appointment; just to see what ‘may’ be required. I wasn’t signing up for any actual dental work, just a chat. At my appointment I was given opportunity to discuss my fears and also dental requirements with DR MATHY and here is the life changing part; HE WAS ABLE TO LITERALLY CONVINCE ME THAT I COULD DO IT. Yes, you read that right! At my first appointment I was a nervous and anxious wreck! I could barely bring myself to sit in the chair. DR MATHY was ever so patient and understanding and he also knew how to ‘navigate me around’ my phobia. It did take a few consults and a lot of talking – but he did it! I now have an amazing, confident smile and the best part is I AM NO LONGER IN FEAR OF A ‘TRIP TO THE DENTIST” and have already booked in for a 6 monthly clean in advance! I have met most of the staff now and I can only say they all possess the same, gentle, caring nature with a willingness to listen and assist. I would like to sincerely thank the AMAZING TEAM at A BETTER DENTAL CARE for their highly professional commitment towards excellent dental service and patient care!
