Fantastic experience: I came in for a dental check up and clean as a new patient with Dr Amandeep Brar today and I had an excellent experience. Dr Amandeep Brar did an amazing job - she was very kind and gentle. She took the time to ask about all my concerns, and explained everything thoroughly which made me feel completely comfortable throughout the appointment. Her assistant Arlene was also fantastic and made the whole appointment feel comfortable and easy. The two girls at reception were also lovely and made the visit feel really welcoming. I am very satisfied with the care I received and I would highly recommend this team!

Fantastic experience: We have seen a few different dentists at this centre. They have all been very knowledgeable and provide great explanation of current and future dental needs, recommendations for children’s orthodontics and a high level of overall care.

Fantastic experience: Had a lovely experience with Dr Ravinder Kaur. She was very thorough and did an excellent job with the dental cleaning especially as my teeth had stains. She also provided comprehensive advice and took thorough care of my teeth. Would definitely be going back to her for all appointments

Negative experience: I normally don’t mind if appointments need to be rescheduled, and mine was changed twice which was fine. However, when I finally went in, I had a very disappointing experience. The dentist I saw this time for a check up and clean was not professional, and the dental assistant with blonde hair (unfortunately I don’t know her name) was extremely rude. During the procedure, I wasn’t given any protective glasses to cover my eyes. I had mentioned to the dentist that one of my teeth felt sensitive but he didn’t explain anything to me about what was happening. This was very different from my first two appointments with Dr. Zainab, which were excellent and professional.

Fantastic experience: Dr Andrew and Dr Brar are fabulous. They understand my anxiety and have great manner. Very professional and reduce the stress a lot! Makes seeing a dentist ok. Thank you to all staff there!

Negative experience: Dentist is exceptionally difficult to get an appointment with, has reduced his days to only 1 day per week, so you could be waiting up to 1 month to get in. He is pretty good with children, though so some saving grace. Insists on doing work that is otherwise unnecessary upon seeking a second opinion and has now potentially compromised the integrity of my teeth. Ultimately does a pretty rough job. Had a filling break within 6 months during flossing, took 1 month to get in to fix it, then charged me a new filling. As for the practice, they continually have issues getting the right file with the right patient. Got a follow up call today from reception claiming my daughter had an extraction, and insisted I was mistaken when I informed them she didn't. Then preceeded to just hang up. Cancels appointments via text and expects you to reschedule, even when booked 6 months in advance. Offers for you to see another dentist, who finds a whole different range of problems, not otherwise identified by your regular dentist. I left Shine Family Dental Gungahlin for the very same reason.

Fantastic experience: I was seen to as an emergency patient on a Sunday. I was in extreme pain and the staff went beyond expectations to help me with not only the pain I was suffering, but as an anxious patient when it comes to dentists. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their help and for getting me seen (and operated on) so quickly as calmly. So thank you, honestly it means the world from a person who has dental phobias.

He was a little nervous before the procedure, but she was very patient and gentle, taking the time to talk to him and make sure he felt safe and comfortable. Her calm and caring approach made a big difference. The receptionists were also very good and friendly, making the whole experience smooth and welcoming from start to finish. I truly appreciate the professionalism and kindness of the entire team. Highly recommended!"

Fantastic experience: Dr Sharma has been amazing. I have had to have several treatments done lately, fillings, cleaning and tooth removal. She is very professional, careful and knowledgeable. Anyone who has had teeth removed would know how unpleasant it can be but she has made the whole experience a breeze.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at this Pacific Smiles Clinic. The overall approach to patient care was dismissive, and I left with no clarity around the treatment I received or any immediate resolution for the issue I came in with. The communication during and after the appointment was poor, and I didn’t feel respected or cared for as a patient. What made the experience even worse was the behavior of the receptionist during my follow-up call when I attempted to get clarification on my fees included, I was met with rudeness and a complete lack of empathy. Rather than trying to help, I was repeatedly dismissed with unhelpful comments - no effort was made to understand or resolve my concerns. It was frustrating and unprofessional. The appointment itself was also extremely expensive, especially given the lack of resolution. I’ve since had to seek further medical care elsewhere just to actually address the issue — adding to the cost and stress of an already unpleasant situation. I reached out to head office two weeks ago to raise my concerns and give them the opportunity to respond. Unfortunately, I’ve received no reply, which has only reinforced my decision not to return. I hope the clinic takes steps to improve how it communicates with and supports patients going forward. Edit to address the below generic comment: I have already attempted to contact the feedback team - two weeks prior with no reply. I had tried to resolve this privately. Failing to acknowledge this alone speaks volumes about how they handle patient concerns. I’m still waiting for a genuine response to what I raised directly.

Negative experience: I am sharing this review on behalf of my partner. We are very frustrated by the lack of care taken when doing his root canal and his fillings. My partner went to pacific smiles last year to get 2 fillings and he also needed a root canal. After 2 appointments to complete the root canal he was in so much pain they referred him to a specialist because they couldn’t complete it pain free? Mind you my partner was visibly distressed both appointments and the dentist seemed almost annoyed and we were charged for a not complete service!? We attended another dentist to get second opinion and they mentioned it was not well done and that they could fix it for him. The new dentist was able to fix it pain free! Fast forward to his cleaning with another dentist today they have mentioned the 2 fillings pacific smile completed were badly done and that the fillings were placed over decay and if he doesn’t fix them he will require 2 other root canals!? Not only has his bad experience with pacific smiles made him hate the dentist they charged us for services awfully done leading us to have to spend more money to fix their mistakes!? Avoid this place and save your money!

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the experience I had during my recent appointment at your clinic on my appointment. Upon arriving at your clinic at 10:30 AM (as per the confirmation I received or my understanding of the appointment time), I was left waiting for 40 minutes without any explanation or communication about the delay. While I understand that unforeseen circumstances, such as emergencies, can arise, I believe it is critical for patients to be informed promptly and respectfully to manage their time and expectations. Unfortunately, this courtesy was not extended to me. To make matters worse, when I raised concerns about the delay to the receptionist, the manager addressed me rudely and unprofessionally. Instead of providing a sincere apology or clarification, I was told that my appointment was at 10:40 AM, which felt like an attempt to shift the blame onto me. I was only informed at this point that the delay was due to an emergency patient, which could have been communicated earlier in a more empathetic manner. What added to my frustration was the lack of follow-up or acknowledgment of my concerns after I left the clinic. Even now, I have not received an email or any communication about my appointment or the issues I faced. This lack of accountability and professionalism is deeply disappointing and does not align with the standards I expect from a reputable dental practice. I believe that every patient deserves to be treated with respect and transparency, and my experience fell far short of that. I kindly request that you review the events of my visit and take appropriate steps to address the gaps in communication and customer service. Negative experience: Very bad lady at front cancelled my booking ,first she check me in i wait there half an hour and then she called that you dont have any booking for today, i showed my msgs as a prove that i had a booking and she even couldnt get me booked in for another time . this made me very frustrated and angry as this is clearly not my fault and pacific smiles did not help their own fault to adjust me . No apologies very bad customer service.

Negative experience: I recently had a scale and clean, I have been coming here for years with no issues however, this particular time I saw a different dentist. During the clean I felt the instrument bump my tooth where it was already chipped. When I got home and looked in the mirror what was once a very small insignificant chip was now extremely large. When I tried to express my concern that this had happened I was told it was impossible and continuously spoken over and not listened to and told it was from clenching my teeth. The fact of the matter was that my tooth was chipped during the clean. I left feeling completely ignored and with a now permanently damaged smile. I would avoid coming here or risk the same situation.
