Negative experience: I arrived at my appointment 10 minutes early and inform the receptionist that I was there. My appointment was at 9.30 am. At 9.40, I asked the receptionist if I had to wait any longer as I needed to go back to work. The 2 girls at reception desk looked at each other and then one came inside to check with the dentist. I was then told the dentist will be ready soon. 10’ after (which was 20’ late) I told the receptionist that I would have to leave as I am late for work now. She looked like she was annoyed and blandly said OK. Just that. No apology. No explanation. No follow up or offer any assistance to reschedule. Just OK. I found that very rude. So, does this mean the dentist’s time is valuable but the customers’ time is not? I will not come back here!

Fantastic experience: I recently went to Pacific Smiles to see Dr Candy- she is absolutely delightful. Warm, kind, caring, and a fantastic dentist! Highly recommend her. I understand it gets busy & phones are ringing ect but I feel they should have someone maybe in another area for just answering phones, intake ect Then reception for face to face. Positive experience: Lovely staff, quick question I have plates they’ve been in my mouth for three days taking them out to eat well, I’m eating dino nuggets on the couch and it’s sort of hurts to chew does that mean that’s working? (One start off because of the plates)

Fantastic experience: Fantastic, caring service. I had an emergency and couldn't get in to see my regular dentists - they only could see me in 2-3 week's time while I was in agony. Pacific Smiles Dental Tuggerah fit me in in less than 48 hours! Dr Kim was amazing. After being to my regular dentist 10 days prior and him not finding the fault (even after xrays), Dr Kim took a few photos and immediately noticed a bone stuck in my gums. After a few painful tries (my gums were highly inflamed at that stage), he managed to pull out a 3-4mm piece of bone - likely from chicken I ate - from my gums. The relief was immediate and I cannot thank Dr Kim enough for his attention to detail. I will surely be going back - changing my regular dentist to Dr Kim!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, a very disappointing visit. My appointment was over half an hour late and when I was finally seen to, I found the dentist to b abrupt and not at all gentle….unlike previous dentist I have seen. The receptionist weren’t helpful at all and i don’t know if this is correct but it appeared 2 people are booked into the same time slot… perhaps to avoid the “no shows” If it wasn’t such a hassle changing dentist, I definitely would but i absolutely will not b seeing the dentist I had today again….. not ever!

She really helped put him at ease, explaining everything she was doing as well as providing options for some work he needs done on his teeth. Fantastic experience: Dr Maggie is the best dentist I've ever been to and I wouldn't go anywhere else. My elderly mother, who in the past has been extremely reluctant to go the dentist. Now, since I've been taking her to see Dr Maggie, she is happy and relaxed. I watch the interaction between them during procedures and it's great. Dr Maggie is kind, gentle, informative and above all treats her with the upmost respect.

Fantastic experience: We've been using PS Tuggerah for a few years now. The staff there are great and when we recently needed something done quickly, they were terrific at organising it and the dentists were empathetic and highly skilled. As a follow up to this, I had further treatment for a somewhat complex issue and once again everyone was helpful. Shariar and Heather treated me and they were great.

Negative experience: I am very unhappy with the level of service I've received from tuggerah Pacific Smile and would like to make a formal complaint. I come to you for help as I have had serveere pain and was needing guidance on how to proceed. In that time I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience by your staff when displaying urgency in wanting to elevaite pain and being proactive on how the process was going. After 2 weeks of waiting for a dental care plan you told me you where unable todo it , after consulting other dentists it's apparent this is normal practice. I have now had to call awaiting my refund which was apparently processed on Wednesday last week. I called this morning to ask what was happening as was told I'd be called back and did don't receive a call back. I am now told the it will be processed sometime this week. Please refer me to your complaints handling team so I can formalise this complaint.

Fantastic experience: Dr Maggie was so lovely with our very scared 6 year old who needed an emergency tooth extraction. She broke down the steps and explained them in a kind and gentle manner and helped her feel a bit more calm. Also the dental assistant Beth (I think) was also very lovely and reassuring. Not fun for a child to get a tooth extraction but they handled it in such a lovely manner.

Fantastic experience: I had a wisdom tooth extraction 16/06/2023 and I can say that I am very impressed with Dr Jennifer Lan. Jennifer and her assistant had the best professional approach to make you feel comfortable while in the chair. Being cheerful explaining every step of the procedure was amazing. The extraction was painless did not feel a thing.If you need and dental work on your teeth I fully recommend Jennifer Lan's team. Fantastic experience: I have just had major dental work at the Tuggerah clinic. Thank you to Dino, his assistants and the caring reception team for making the experience so easy. I was scared absolutely @&$!less and the team made me feel at ease and comfortable. The costs were not painful either, comparable to other dental clinics. I recommend highly.

Negative experience: my wife went for dental cleaning and in spite of they told my wife is no gap cleaning when they finished , asked for $85.54 gaps!!!! and brought a lot of excuse, we ask them use our second private insurance that we have, they said it is late and they did not, our family we use them , but no more, as I am afraid to say they are not honest with their customers. if It was me I first ask them and get written confirmation before do cleaning as they change their words after. they charge $340,80 for a general dental cleaning and Xray , with top insurance policy we have.

Negative experience: I’ve been taking my child here for around two years. Recently I’ve had my appointment moved and changed constantly which was stressful enough with my anxiety but what is most frustrating is asking a question in centre and being told something totally different now on the phone. I’ll be taking him elsewhere from now on. Make sure you check multiple times if you have concerns about anything as this isn’t the first time someone has said something different to another worker

Negative experience: I visited on the 01/08/22 and was seen by Dr Arpita. I advised her of the nerve pain I was experiencing and headache it was giving me. She done the cold test and then X-rays. After 2 attempts, she thought it looked right. After looking at the xray, she said she couldn't see anything wrong. The gum looks a bit inflamed. So she offered a clean to see if that would clear the pain. So she did a clean. 1.5 months later back with the same nerve pain. Went to see another dentist and found the issue to be the nerve and a cracked fill in. She is obviously not very competent. I wouldn't recommend her as your dentist.

Negative experience: I have been going here for a few years, they told me I needed a dental plate, I’ve never been able to wear it as it cuts my mouth, when I brought this up with them they shrugged their shoulders and said oh well, sometimes they don’t work very well… $1,700 out of pocket. and now the last two teeth they worked on (fillings) I now have an infection. I’m considering consulting a lawyer

Negative experience: I took my daughter here for months for check ups/cleaning and they refuse to do fillings on children but will happily charge your child benefit to look in there mouth and do nothing but refer to a specialist which we can't afford .. We found a family dental that done all the fillings on her in 15 mins no needles or anything pays to look around .

Negative experience: I have been a patient at Pacific Smiles Dental, Tuggerah for several years and have been very happy with the treatment. However, I was recently advised that I needed some crowns for teeth which have not caused me any pain or sensitivity. This was going to cost several thousand dollars, in addition to other work which I know is necessary. I am a pensioner and every dollar is important. I informed the dentist that I would like to get a second opinion for my own peace of mind. I said that I hoped she was not offended and she assured me that she was not. I got the second opinion and made an appointment to come back to Pacific Smiles. My appointment was then cancelled by that dentist on the morning of the appointment. It would appear that she was in fact offended because I had the audacity to seek a second opinion. I am extremely disappointed.

Negative experience: I have had extensive dental work over the years with multiple surgeries and never in my life have l received such unprofessional hideous service. I went to this practice as an emergency patient during covid in terrible pain. I was recommended to start root canal to save the tooth 700 dollars paid within 2 days the pain had not subsided and l returned only to be told by another dentist at that practice that l should extract the tooth. I argued l did not want to lose the tooth and had already been advised by another dentist to continue with root canal. After an aggressive discussion including pulling his chair towards my face l resigned to the fact that to get out of pain l would lose the tooth. To which this male dentist replied" We are therapeutically incompatable and l do not want to proceed" in tears l left his office in pain still only to be confronted with all of the staff and l mean all gathered together laughing as l left the premises. I have since reported the matter to the relevant authorities and l will be pursuing the matter. l was advised that there is many many many others who have had similar experiences. This surgery is a disgrace. They have a huge turnover of dentists and there is a reason for that. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: Thank you to the great Team over at Tuggerah, I am a terrible patient when it comes to going to the dentist and if anyone else reading this is someone like myself that feels on edge and gets worked up at the dentist please take note of my review, Going to the dentist - I hate the whole experience, the drills and needles frighten me, So much so, I've never been to the same dentist twice in over 10 years, Dr Jennifer was helping me when I had a little emergency with a chipped tooth, within 5 hours of me calling asking for an emergency appointment I was seen that day a few hours later. Dr Jennifer and her Dental Assistant were amazing, I told them as soon as I walked in the room I was a little hard of hearing they immediately began to speak up so that I could hear, the work she did on my tooth was great, I went in feeling terrible and to leaving on the drive home, couldnt help but share to some close friends and family who know how much I hate these visits how top notch it was. The entire thing start to finish was made as painless as possible, the friendly banter, the attentive attitude from Dr Jen and her staff was nothing short of fantastic, they will continue to have my business - as someone that struggles and gets worked up and on edge sitting in that chair, I was made to feel at ease and looked after which is extremely important, Thank you again.

Positive experience: UPDATE: Further to my review below about the reception area cleanliness, I went past the other day and noticed that the stains and dirt on the chair cushions had been cleaned and the waiting room was so much cleaner! The waiting room is so unclean! The fabric cushions on the chairs have hair, stains and thick dust. The Perspex partition between the receptionist and patient is filthy. The hand sanitizer is empty. For Covid19 times, I am really concerned about just how clean the rest of the dentistry is.

Fantastic experience: 10/10 to you Tuggerah Pacific Smiles. Thank you for the service you provided for me when I was fitted in Monday 17th August. To the receptionist who went out of her way to fit me in, thank you. Being greeted by Dr Sueng Kim and his assistant Sam who did an amazing job in looking after me. You made me feel at ease from the time I walked in to the time I left, you did a great job in pulling my tooth out. Negative experience: Pulled out the wrong tooth that my husband specifically wanted out and the original dentist he seen yesterday gave my husband a poor consultation. Very poor service. Then when he went back in today to get it sorted as you said you would when we called you back yesterday to complain you refused to help him. Gave him antibiotics and painkillers and sent him away because you just didn't want to deal with it. He is in horrible pain absolutely miserable and worse off now then when he 1st came in. We will be taking this further. Very unhappy

Negative experience: After booking online and waiting over half an hour past my appointment time without a hint of seeing a dentist I left in disgust after notifying the staff of my intention. Shurely my time and all other patients time should be considered. Time to find a more reliable service for me!!!!!

Positive experience: I've been with Pacific Smiles Dental Tuggerah for couple years now. My first dentist was a grub. He asked me to sign several treatments under dental benefit scheme for my children when the only service he rendered was only general check up and clean. I protested to the receptionist, she said: I won't be charged for them. For me is about principal. Yes it's Govt money, but I signed for it. For that, I cancelled my next appointment and never want to use their service anymore. Until I had dental emergency, Dr. Annika helped me and treated me like a patient not by $$$. She became our family dentist. And then I had another dental emergency, Dr. Matthew helped me this time because Dr. Annika was not available. He is equally great just like Dr. Annika. My opinion, not all the dentists at Pacific Smiles are money grub just because I had bad experience with one dentist.

The girls at the front desk make you feel welcomed and comfortable.
