Hi Mr Zhang,
It's a shame that you could not reach us during our lunch hour between 1-2pm. Patients are welcome to leave a voice message if the phone is unattended and we will return the call at the earliest possible time. When we re-opened our doors promptly at 2pm, (the appointment time), we were ready for your appointment. Between 1-2pm, the surgery is closed for lunch whilst our staff clean up from the morning session, take a short break and prepare for the afternoon. Thank you for your understanding.

Negative experience: This dental clinic has been my go-to for many years, but this recent experience completely changed my impression. I won’t be returning and will definitely switch to another clinic. The entire process felt rushed; my cleaning and two X-rays were done in just 15 minutes. I was uncomfortable throughout, and the speed of the cleaning caused me more pain than ever before. For just a simple check-up and cleaning, the bill came to $315. My insurance covered $268, leaving me with a gap payment that wasn’t reduced at all—I had to pay the full amount. In the past, for gap payments around $40 for cleanings, I’ve encountered dentists who either waived the fee or only required me to pay a portion. This time, I had to cover it all. There are many dental clinics in Eastwood, and personally, I plan to choose a different one next time.

Fantastic experience: I've been with this clinic for over 3 decades and see Dr Janice or Dr Daniel. I always receive thoughtful, detailed yet efficient consults. Professionals with great bedside manners. The advice and education regarding dental health are also greatly appreciated. Hygiene is paramount, evidenced by the changes put in place post covid which puts me at ease. Great location and accessible by public transport.

Negative experience: This dentist is really bad. The staff there were really rude. They forced a 2-year-old boy to wear mask even the Covid restrictions have been ended. They charged surcharge on people paying by card which I haven’t seen in anywhere else clinic/dental. And the doctor there charge much more expensive than the other dental. High NOT recommended!

Firstly, I apologise for any miscommunication during your visit. Yes, we encourage everyone to wear a mask when they enter our surgery, but a young child would never be forced to wear one. Although government imposed Covid restrictions have ended, as a health provider, we do our best to protect the health of our patients and staff. That being said, we understand that it may be difficult for some young children to wear a mask.
We usually do NOT charge a surcharge on credit card payments, so I would love to have the opportunity to clarify this if it was a misunderstanding, and to correct it if for some reason a mistake was made and a surcharge payment was processed. Unfortunately, we could not find your name in our patient files so we were not able to check any payments, but if you would like to contact us, we would be more than happy to reverse any credit card surcharge.

I'm sorry that the receptionist could not answer your call during our lunch break, but I'm glad that she has been successful in calling you back to attend to your inquiries.
Our working hours are from 9am until 6pm with lunch break between 1pm and 2:30pm on a weekday. On Saturday, we are open from 9am until 4pm with lunch break between 1pm and 2pm.
Please be assured that if we miss your call, we will return the call asap if you leave your name and number in the answering machine.

Negative experience: My family walked into the dentist and requested for an appointment for my kids. My family didn’t even open month yet, she stopped my family rudely and requested him to wear a mask before he talked. Ok, this action is understandable, however she demonstrated her impatience and her unprofessional during the whole process of making appointment, such like my family asked her if she is able to speak Chinese. She said no but she was able to speak Cantonese. Please notice, Cantonese is one kind of Chinese too. And she refused to check for us if my kids were able to claim for the dentist benefit from Medicare. So I decided to move to another dentist, and luckily, we had a really good service and experience at other one. I am so sorry that happened to my family and the receptionist made me to feel she had discriminated people who are not able to speak English or Cantonese. I know Australia is an English-spoken country but it is also a multicultural country. Eastwood has plenty of people are speaking Mandarin and I feel so so sorry for the elders who are not able to English or Cantonese but accidentally walk into this dentist to seek for their teeth health, they will not have a appropriate service here. If a receptionist cannot do her jobs and duties nicely and properly, please kindly get off that chair and let someone else more professional to sit on it.

Negative experience: Walk in for an inquiry. The woman at reception looks at me like I just stolen her cat. Terrible attitude, full of impatiens in her voice.
Negative experience: Poor service, will never visit again. Long waiting time, the whole session last less than 15 mins, and some places in my mouth were not cleaned even though what I paid for is dental cleaning. - To reply owner’s reply. The main reason for leaving this review is that when I back home, I checked my teeth and found one of my teeth is not cleaned. The whole session of dental cleaning was around 10mins, I feel the service was provided in a rush. And comparing with my waiting time (40mins), I simply felt the service was bad.

After seeing your review, I checked your records and you can rest assured that the dentist thoroughly examined, recorded and cleaned all of your teeth. You were also appreciative of Dr Janice for spending time to go through oral hygiene instructions, correcting your flossing technique and demonstrating for you in the mirror.
It was suggested for you to have xrays and fluoride treatment to complete the comprehensive examination, checkup and cleaning, but you declined these as you had another commitment to attend to afterwards.
We understand and value our patients' time and therefore we try to minimise waiting times. However, sometimes it is out of our control as it is difficult to predict what is needed for some patients, e.g. emergency toothaches; or some patients may be running late for their appointments. Despite these factors, we will not compromise on the time which we spend to provide the best quality of treatment for each patient, nor our time spent on thorough preparation and cleaning of the rooms before and after each patient. Therefore occasionally, we do have to ask for our patients' understanding if we have kept them waiting.

Fantastic experience: Dr Vincent Cheung and his assistant are nice and professional. I did a dental checkup, cleaning and filling, my overall experience is good. They also gave me some useful advice, will come back.
Negative experience: Not customer friendly for inquiring customers. The Receiption staff is very proficient to refuse all your inquire with smiles on face, until you spend money with them, otherwise they won’t answer any general informations. How could you trust on a doctor/health/medical related participants, who only shows interest with money, but not patient’s concern? Good Luck for the customers with this dentist.
Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and experienced dentists. My family have been with them for more than 25 years. The clinic have high standard of infection control. Highly recommended!
Negative experience: My dad went to this dentist's clinic to repair the crown of his implanted tooth during the epidemic. Dr Vincent gave my dad three anesthetics and told him to stick it with glue. If it falls over time, he will screw out the screws and replant. My dad suffered a lot and the crown fell off within an hour of returning home. We later went back to reflect the situation and questioned the treatment plan error and did not want to continue treatment here and then asked the doctor to refund him for his mistake. The doctor refused to refund the money withdrawn from our Medibank private insurance and only refunded the extra difference of gap fee $ 27. Finally, we went to another dentist's clinic. The doctor told us that my father's dental implants do not need to be screwed out and re-doing, because there are two types of dental implants. My father's crown is glue-adhesive, and it needs to be glued with professional glue Live, and before Dr Vincent used ordinary glue not the professional one, and damaged the crown grinding, also gave anesthesia that did not need to be used at all. Finally, my dad had his teeth glued in an hour in the new clinic, and he didn't need any anesthetics. And my dad has to pay $144 from his own pocket, because the last dentist clinic used up his private insurance. Here, I leave my comment. I have all the evidence. Next I will report this to Australia Dental Association to complain about this clinic. I also hope that future patients can see my experience and avoid similar things.

Negative experience: My mouth felt unclean even after the clean. Checkup wasn't done thoroughly. Dentist didn't bother to clean hard to reach places in my mouth - the entire session lasted 10 minutes and fluoride treatment was a joke.

Whist topical fluoride treatments are simple to apply, fluoride is the most effective agent available to help prevent tooth decay, and has significant benefits for oral health. By simply having a professional application of fluoride, it can seep into the enamel, making it stronger and more resistant to decay. This procedure is recommended at each checkup appointment by health professionals and professional organisations.

When xrays are taken in our surgery, the charge for 022 is for the taking and interpreting of the images by our dentists; we have a responsibility and obligation to keep the original xray on file.
Sometimes, our patients like to have a copy of the image though, and they can always take a photo of the xray or have a copy sent to them via email. Our friendly reception staff would be more than happy to send you a copy of your xray too!
When I was trying to locate your patient file to see where the miscommunication occurred, unfortunately I could not find any patient by your name. If you could please contact our surgery and tell us your name which you used for treatment at our clinic, I would love to clarify the situation with the staff who were treating you on the day and also send you a copy of your xray.

Fantastic experience: The team here have looked after my Mum and dad very well. The staff, the assistant and the dentists are very friendly, professional and thorough with their sessions. Check up and procedures go beyond the session, with education on how best to maintain the teeth. Dentists are very knowledgeable, and have treated from the simplest check ups to the most complex procedures. Thank you very much for keeping them happy and their teeth healthy!

Fantastic experience: Fantastic dentist and very friendly staff. I have a great dental experience there. The dentist is so patient and prefessional and explained to me about my problem very clearly. I have been extremely happy with all the work she has had done and no problems. Surgery is clean and staff are friendly. I will definitely bring my other family members there.

Negative experience: I've been a customer for over 15 years, even when they were located at their old premises. Sadly, things have changed and service has dropped. Dentists are constantly running late (last 3 visits 25 min+ was the norm) and make it their mission to increase billables in as little time as possible. Avoid.

We understand and value our patients' time and therefore our patients appreciate that we try to minimise waiting times. However, sometimes it is out of our control as it is difficult to predict what is needed for some patients, e.g. emergency toothaches; or some patients may be running late for their appointments. Despite these factors, we will not compromise on the time which we spend to provide the best quality of treatment for each patient, nor our time spent on thorough preparation and cleaning of the rooms before and after each patient. Therefore occasionally, we do have to ask for our patients' understanding if we have kept them waiting for a short period of time.
I can assure you that all staff at our surgery are devoted to our duty of care to the patients and prioritise their needs above all else.
