Fantastic experience: WOW, WOW,WOW. This practice definitely practices what it preaches. I have finally found a dental practice that puts the customer experience before maximising profits. I have always put off dentist visits and normally hate the experience. This practice has done it's research and must have the "secret sauce" in recruiting AMAZING PROFESSIONAL staff, right from administration to Dentists. From the moment you pull into carpark, without any hassles, to entering the front door to be greeted by staff that are extremely friendly and uplifting, you will not be disappointed. As a new patient to this clinic I was given an appointment with dentist Dr Pheobe. I cannot recommend Dr Pheobe highly enough. She has an amazingly calming personality and I was blown away by her honesty and caring nature. She always discussed what my options were and what was happening each step of the way, regularly checking in with me to see I was feeling ok during all of my procedures (I had to have multiple visits so this review is not in relation to a single visit). At all times Dr Pheobe made me feel totally cared for and safe in her care. I have absolutely no affiliation with the owner or any of the staff of this practice. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough. The owner, Dr MIchael Baker, has created a dental clinic second to none, it appears from my experience his philosophy is clearly to ensure the patient has the utmost caring, painless and professional experience humanly possibly. Thankyou Dr Pheobe and Toowoomba Dental, I am totally blown away by the whole experience. For the first time in my 60 years I am looking forward to my 6 monthly checkup. Regards, John W

Fantastic experience: Toowoomba Dental are by far the best dentist in Toowoomba, in particular Dr Michael Baker who is phenomenal at what he does and is the only dentist I trust with my teeth. He is always so compassionate and always explains things in a way that isn’t overwhelming and always provides a quote before commencing work. I have been to previous dentists and no one compares to Dr Baker and his dental assistants. In addition, special shout out to the administration staff who are always a pleasure to deal with and always so helpful in answering any questions. I wish I could give this practice 1000 stars!

After being disappointed by the last few dental clinics I have visited, I was pleasantly surprised by the approach taken by Toowoomba Dental. Shaiel was appropriately casual and friendly, and made me feel comfortable right away. He actually engaged with me as a person, not just a patient, and took the time to talk to me about my dental history. He also discussed his findings with me, answered any questions I had, and gave suggestions for a treatment plan going forward. I have seen dentists and orthodontists since I was quite young, and I learned more about myself from Shaiel in my initial consultation than any other dentist has ever taken the time to communicate. It was also the most gentle cleaning I have ever had :-)

Fantastic experience: Absolutely brilliant! All of the staff are lovely and helpful, and Dr Phoebe is so kind and gentle. She was just brilliant with our neurodiverse kiddo, and the whole team made sure that our visit was positive for the little one. This is the best dentist we have ever visited. The building is really nice as well, so open, light and airy. It almost feels like being at a resort. I can not recommend enough.

Negative experience: I went for a filling, long story short.. that was by far the most uncomfortable, dispassionate dental experience I've ever undergone. The dentist was oddly cold and unwilling to speak to me in an honest or human way. But the thing that frightened me the most, her assistant was so cold and physically rough with my mouth it was honestly shocking. And to top it off, I chose to be honest with them about my experience and it only seemed to make them behave colder and further withdrawn. Long review yes but, good god! EVOID THIS PRACTICE.

Fantastic experience: Had to book very last minute due to a broken painful tooth, and was seen that day after calling so many places in Toowoomba! Dr Phoebe was so lovely and caring during the removal of my tooth as difficult as is was to get it out! The girl assisting her was wonderful as well! Such a pleasant experience considering I usually hate having to go to the dentist! Deb was so lovely on the phone and in person and called to follow up how I was feeling the next day! Never had that level of care and compassion at a dentist before! Will 100% continue going here from now on. Thank you ladies for your warming environment and attitudes! Most dentist I feel quite embarrassed but not one bit here!

Fantastic experience: Just the very experienced work. I felt very comfortable and relaxed. And to have an expert look after me made the visit 100% better. The receptionists are lovely and kind. Everyone is lovely.

Negative experience: My daughter went to this dentist to get a tooth checked. She was in an excruciating amount of pain. The dentist said they could not tell which tooth was aching. X-rays were done, and apparently, nothing showed up. They prescribed her antibiotics and told her to come back if it's still aching, that she may need a root canal. Mind you, she was charged $160 just to be told they could not find the problem. So she went to a different dentist the next day, the new dentist sent for the X-rays from Toowoomba Dental to save us money. On the x-rays, you could clearly see a cavity. The dentist fixed her tooth no dramas and said no root canal was needed. Definitely won't be using Toowoomba Dental again.

Negative experience: Original Review done in 2019 was 5 stars. Toowoomba Dental staff will be delightful and meet your needs, as long as you are compliant to their treatment suggestions. Good access to parking onsite, and the Clinic is always very clean and well presented. Make sure you have Private Health to afford treatment (preference HIB), although they do accept the Medicare Child Benefit, however out of surgery treatment will ONLY be done at St Andrew’s Hospital. Long term treatment may not be ideal at this clinic, as our experience has become “just another patient”, however our situation needed more than that.

Fantastic experience: My severely disabled sister required a dental checkup which was done under general anaesthetic at St Andrews hospital. The team were excellent and so was the anaesthetist that Toowoomba Dental organised for us. Top marks to them!

Fantastic experience: The whole team make me feel so comfortable when visiting. The quality of the work I've had done from fillings to root canals to crowns has been exceptional! Dr Baker is amazing and I could never recommend anyone but him and his fantastic team!

Negative experience: We called for an emergency appointment which the receptionist knew my partner likely needed a tooth pulling out. After travelling 2 hours to Toowoomba for the appointment and nearly $300 out of pocket for x-rays, the dentist then told us she didn’t have time to do anything for him. Absolute waste of our time and money.

Fantastic experience: They are fantastic here! First time visit yesterday. The practice is clean and tidy, has a great atmosphere, and has easy access to parking. Shout out to Deb the receptionist at the front counter. She was so helpful and considerate in regards to booking in my appointment. Dr Parikh was fantastic. He was thorough, gentle and kind. Fantastic experience: Just start by saying it's a number 1 Dental Pratice in Toowoomba. I have numerous teeth problems and every time I have gotten everything resolved. Even from making phone calls to make appointments with the office staff there so karm and respectful and so easy to talk to . Fantastic experience: I’ve always had a fear of dental pain, which led me to avoid seeing the dentist. When I first visited Dr Michael Baker he made me feel very comfortable in the chair, and we discussed the fear of pain. He was extremely professional, as was his wonderful staff! I have since returned many times for cleans and minor dental work. I’m so glad I finally have found a dentist who takes the stress out of dental work. Highly recommend being treated by Dr Michael!

Fantastic experience: I'm terrified of the dentist, but not Michael!! He is seriously a total rockstar dentist! Not to mention Kat as well, she's the kindest, most understanding nurse. Allow me to give you some context.... I'm terrified of the dentist! That's pretty much it. It stems from traumatic dentist visit experiences as both a child and an adult, I seemed to never be able to avoid abusive and impatient dentists. But then there was Michael. The first time I ever spoke to Michael wasn't even in his surgery it was at an expo and I was teary talking to him just because he is a dentist, that's how bad I am.... was! It still took me about 3 years to pluck up the courage to visit him and in less than six months over a few visits (because there were a few things to address) he has managed to completely win me over (I'm probably still afraid of dentists, but I'm not afraid of Michael). Both Michael and Kat went out of their way to accommodate my irrational fear and work with me to not exacerbate it any further. What has actually happened is that through their patience, empathy and genuine concern, my irrational fear has significantly diminished. Thank you Michael and Kat. For the first time in my life I have been able to sit in that chair and not cry through the entire consultation/procedure. That's actually a liberating feeling and I'm so grateful to you both. If this was TripAdvisor I'd recommend this surgery for a visit where one can find A+++ customer service, a calming atmosphere, a welcoming reception and a good laugh! Thank you for being amazing! PS. Fantastic experience: I've visited Dr. Michael Baker numerous times to resolve some stubborn dental issues (due to mistakes made by another Dentist), along with the usual things such as check up and fillings, and I couldn't imagine going to another Dentist. I would rather sit in pain for another week than visit another Dentist, and happily drive an hour and a half from Brisbane to an appointment. Michael is the only Dentist I have been to who I feel at ease with. He knows that I don't tolerate dental pain well, and makes appropriate arrangements to ensure I'm all sorted before the procedure begins. Michael is extremely knowledgeable about the products and methods he uses, and is up to date with what is going on in the industry. The practice itself is immaculate, a lovely converted house which feels more like home than a dental practice. All the staff I have had encounters with have been nothing but helpful and friendly, and, I never thought I would say this, I almost look forward to going to the Dentist.

My wife raved about how patient, kind and gentle the dentists were and then my daughter had an accident and bumped her front teeth at Kindy. Fantastic experience: As a relatively new patient have been 3 times now, I have found dentist Michael and the staff to be very helpful, professional and knowledgeable. My new fillings feel great, probably the best I have had done for some time.

Negative experience: Last year I had an infected wisdom tooth and had an emergency appointment here and everyone was amazing! So helpful and friendly! They advised on surgical treatment and refereed me to a specialist. As it was a costly treatment I opted to get dental insurance and wait out the waiting period to make it more affordable. A few months ago my tooth was infected again! I was horrified as we still had 2 months of waiting period to go! I called the dentist again to ask for an appointment in the hope they would give me a clean and possibly anti biotics for the infection. Unfortunately when I called the practice the receptionist took a look at my notes and very bluntly told me there is nothing they can do because I hadn't acted on their referral. She gave me no opportunity to explain and was quite rude. I begged to have an appointment as I was in so much pain and that's when she finally asked the dentist and came back with an appointment time. The dentist was amazing as always and so lovely and understanding. I know it seems like a small thing to be complaining about however when I was in so much pain and getting a bit emotional she made me feel embarrassed and an inconvenience. So disappointing.
