Fantastic experience: After considering the previous reviews I have become a customer of dental wellness and I haven't looked back since. The service and overall experience is the best I have been exposed to in the medical industry. The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful while imparting proven medical expertise. I note some other reviews from some who seemed to be after a "quick fix"- this practice, in it's holistic nature, goes beyond treatment and provides solutions to prevent and cure dental issues. As a diabetic I've had plenty of experience in this industry and value the best care possible. Because of this I will indeed be a long term customer.

Fantastic experience: The dentist who attended and filled the cavities and applied the crowns could only be described as first class. She was concerned that she might be hurting me but that was not the case as I was relaxed just about all the time. When she finished she showed the xrays before and after and then I thanked her with many thanks for the work she had performed on my teeth. The other staff were just as efficient as her. Fantastic experience: It's always a great experience visiting the Dental Wellness, no fillings - Yay!!!

Positive experience: I attended this practice in late May 2024 as a new customer. They could not accommodate a cleaning and a dentist check up on the same day, so they booked me firstly for the dentist check up, and I returned at a later date for the cleaning. It is my opinion that the cost was extremely high for the services rendered. I was due to attend for a 6 monthly clean last week and cancelled at short notice because I felt uncomfortable proceeding with a dental practice with such high costs. I notified the practice by email after the cancellation to explain my perspective, expressing concern at such high fees. Dr Cowhig replied to me a few days later, which was appreciated. He said he was sorry that I felt that they were not upfront with their fees and directed me to the welcome email from them that outlined all the possible fees. I think from reading reviews this practice may be quite good for people with various complex dental needs. For transparency, I paid $805 for a dentist check up, a Ct cone beam scan, scaling and cleaning, and various photos and other checks. A simple google reveals that an average cost of dentist check-in with cleaning and scans in QLD is under $300. I believe this would be for x-ray and not a CT cone beam scan which would cost more. I write this review just to flag with possible new clients that the fees at this practice seem quite a lot higher than elsewhere. Of course, One could say I did all of this knowingly since I received that lovely welcome email. That is definitely fair. The practice itself is beautiful, clean, friendly, professional. They give you various toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, pots of coconut oil etc for oil pulling. All very lovely, but probably not worth an extra money in my humble opinion. I wish the practice all the best with their business, I am simply making this honest review so other people can be aware that a new patient check in with this practice can cost upwards $800.

Fantastic experience: If you are looking for excellent dental services then Dr David and his team are the perfect fit, as they are not only professional but knowledgeable, helpful and friendly also and I would highly recommend them. Today's appointment was regarding a dental cone beam scan that was done and the treatment options recommended. I found the recommendations made extremely helpful and will be endeavouring to follow through with the information given before my next dental visit.

Fantastic experience: Cannot recommend David and the amazing team behind this business. I am from Cairns and traveled to see him to find out the issues I thought I had with my teeth I didn't but what he found was an infection in a tooth I'd had no drama with. Two visits later, and extraction of tooth and 7mm ball of infection which had been wreaking havoc with my sinus for I don't even know hpw long and I feel a totally different person. Sinus has cleared and brain fog gone, I have energy for days all because I was harboring an infection I wasn't even aware I had. I would recommend everyone go and see David even if you thibk you've got not dental issues.

Fantastic experience: Today I had my second appointment with Dr Sapphire from Dental Wellness at The Gap, Brisbane. Both my sessions with her were the best I have experienced with anyone previously and I have to emphasise that I’ve had many dental practioners over my lifetime. She was friendly, helped me to relax and made sure I was comfortable. As for the injections themselves, which are usually not pleasant, to say the least, I hardly felt a a thing! Of course the standard of work she performed both with fillings and replacement of a crown on a seriously decayed molar, was second to none!! Thank you Dr Sapphire for producing such excellent work. However it would be more courteous to inform me, ( or any client) about The extra cost for David's consult! I wasn't told prior to coming, nor told upon arrival, Not till Karen told me David was coming in to see me did I know anything about it! If so I would have asked what if any extra charge there would be? Then to luckily have enough funds on me to cover it saved me from embarrasement!! I would really appreciate more awareness around this, (what felt like non-disclosure; Please?) Your practice gives a High Degree of service, but I need to feel valued with simple pro-active service procedures! You know I'm very adaptive & go with the flow, but just feel this got & Was missed! David uses technology that comprehensively indicated to me the work I required and explained reasons why this would be beneficial, from a holistic perspective. The platelets rich fibrin process used during my procedures resulted in a healthy and virtually pain free recovery after this intense work was completed. When I came to him concerned about a persistent issue, he gave the time to truly understand my full history and symptomology. Through thoughtful questioning, thorough examinations, and drawing on his vast experience working with all sorts of cases, david was able to uncover the root cause that had eluded others. It was apparent how his deep knowledge of dental health and function helped connect the dots in a way that aligned with my specific situation. Where some may have given a surface diagnosis, he honed in on the underlying problem through an analytical yet empathetic lens. Fantastic experience: My expectations are extremely high regarding my dental health, after my experience today, I can confidently say, after 40 years of dealing with private practices as a young teenager with my parents, my military experience, my Middle East experience over 20 years and then again private practices over the last two decades going to numerous dentists and just having my needs met – I know now that my dental health can affect the rest of my body – my consultation today was nothing short of fantastic, I was very impressed with the demeanour the technology and the presence of absolute professionalism from all staff. At this facility. I have no hesitation in recommending this dental surgery to my friends and family. And work colleagues. I have a substantial amount of work to be done running into the thousands but this will be money well spent.

Fantastic experience: Excellent dentist. Had a filling done today by Dr Ricky. Let’s you know what he’s about to do each step as he’s working. Checks in with you regularly during the procedure. Let’s you know you’re doing well through the tricky bits like needles, grinding etc. There is never any staff social banter as if you are not in the room. Holistic dental approach including you’re breathing, digestion, sleep , etc. love this dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr David and his team are lovely. He takes the time to explain everything and always suggests the least invasive procedures first unlike other dentists I’ve been to who are always trying to upsell.

Fantastic experience: The Dental Wellness team is the most caring and competent you will ever find. They are up to date with the latest methods and technologies. They have looked after my dental needs for two decades, I have special needs in relation to chemical sensitivies and allergies.

Negative experience: I visited dental wellness for a check up and treatment plan, primarily I have an amalgam filling that needs replacing and am interested in having this done appropriately to limit heavy metal exposure. Dr Ricky assessed my teeth and devised an treatment, however during the consultation he took xrays which added $475 to the total making a 45 minute checkup cost $790. At no point was the cost of the X-rays discussed, the receptionist just had to deliver the total and explain that these costs were outlined in an email prior as a potentials. The email in question lists many different potential costs, and so if a patient is going to need any of them included then surely the practice needs to clarify these costs again and get the patients consent? The treatment plan for my work with them is double the price of another I have from another local dentist.. I’m happy to pay a premium for anything wholistic but here felt as though they are taking advantage of their patients and the pricing structure reflected this. Finally, Dr Ricky was clearly not well and it was stressful having someone sniffling while looking in my mouth. I also felt as though I needed to extract information from him about the various treatment options, rather than being educated about the differences in their approach and how it might relate to our overall wellbeing. I can see the Dr David has a lot of good reviews here, so I appreciate there may have been a different outcome had he treated me. Edit to reply. Thanks David but I'm not sure that response addresses my concerns. My question was around the ethics of conducting the 3DCT test without discussing the costs with the patients prior and gaining consent. I don't doubt its a good diagnostic tool it's just that Dr Ricky did not discuss the cost, nor did he really outline any of the pro's and con's as listed in your response. Relying on the small print of an email seems dishonest, and when I asked your receptionist if Dr Ricky was supposed to discuss these costs prior to conducting the tests she agreed this to be the case. I just feel if someone is quoted $280 for a checkup and then given a $780 bill at the end without there being any discussion of potential inclusions then it's worth iterating this so that you can potentially be more upfront with future patients. Lastly your reply skirts around personal information relating to my case (as well as some exaggerations that don't apply) and I'd have thought this sort of information was best left off a public forum.

Very happy with the high level of dental care that I received from the clinic during that time. David has helped me with other health issues along the way also. The dental hygienists are of a consistently high standard also. I am grateful to have been able to access good quality dental care for so long. The reception and assistant staff are super friendly and helpful and Dr David is a lovely man who patiently explains everything, is thorough and generous with his time. I traveled 2.5 hours to see this dentist. I wish this practice was closer to home.

Then I was so relieved to find someone who looked at the whole person and David was the first practitioner who gave me information about my oral anomalies which then explained so many other things, I actually cried in the chair! Fantastic experience: I am a nervous dental patient, ever since ending up in hospital for emergency maxillofacial surgery following extraction of a wisdom tooth that subsequently became infected. I sought out David when he first set up in Brisbane City under the name Holistic Dental in the early 2000's and had amalgam fillings replace with the non-metallic alternative. I have attended his surgery ever since - almost 20 years now. I have always found his Dental Practice and follow-up to be excellent and of the highest order both technically and from a personal perspective. I cannot recommend this practice highly enough, particularly if you have previously had difficult experiences with other dentists.

Persistent sleep problems, lack of energy and an overall immune fragility were just the tip of the iceberg. After many thorough examinations, Dr David identified a chronic infection(s) at the site of 3 root canal teeth. These teeth were removed, the site thoroughly cleaned and 3 zirconia implants put in. All using safe and advanced technology. My health instantly skyrocketed! My sleep, energy and overall sense of physical drive went through the roof. To this day, I am grateful for Dr David, the dental assistants and the whole team at Dental Wellness for the amazing jobs they do. While many others do not listen. Leaving their patients helpless. Fantastic experience: After a long history of severe dental problems including failed root canals that harboured large infections, it was nothing short of life-changing to find Dr Cowhig. From the outset there was excellent diagnosis with really clear explanations and a plan to remediate my problems using amazing new technologies. My general health and well-being has improved immensely now that the infections have been dealt with. I feel very grateful to Dr Cowhig and his team, all of whom are all caring, gentle and extremely professional.

Fantastic experience: Thank you Dr Ricky as usual very professional I think he is the best Dentist I have seen in my long life. I feel confident with his advice and all treatments and costs are fully explained to me.

Negative experience: I had been going to Dental Wellness for a while and had been happy with the service. Staff are welcoming and friendly and it's a calm atmosphere. I was getting my teeth cleaned and checked every 6 months as I have a history of teeth problems. 2 weeks after my latest hygienist appointment, I noticed a large lump in the roof of my mouth behind my front tooth. I booked another appointment to get it checked out and, some expensive tests later, was told that my tooth was dead with a large infection, to the point where it was at risk of killing the tooth next to it as well. Due to the extent of bone loss, they advised I get a root canal, let the bone heal and then get it extracted and have a fake tooth put in. Something that would cost me somewhere around $10,000! Obviously, I went for a second opinion and chose a highly regarded endodontist. After looking at the extent of the infection, he said it could have been there for possibly up to 1-2 years. How did Dental Wellness miss the very thing I was supposed to be getting regularly checked for? I went with the endodontist and got a root canal which cost me somewhere around $2,500. While much more affordable than $10,000, I'm still frustrated when this all could have been avoided with proper checks.

Fantastic experience: A friend told me about using a mouth guard to sleep better as apparently I’m a clencher and carry a lot of stress. I visited Dr Cowhig and was measured for a guard. I’ve been wearing the guard now for about 2 months and I’m pleased to say it’s working. I definitely feel more energized and wake up every morning very conscious that I’ve been sleeping better. Fantastic experience: What a wonderful experience I had today with Dr. Cowhig and the team at Dental Wellness. I sought out a holistic dentist to assess a root canal I have concerns about. Dr. Cowhig conducted a full history of what may be causing certain health concerns and then went on to assess and conduct tests to ascertain the integrity of the root canal. True to the term ‘holistic’, I came away feeling Dr. Cowhig took a holistic view of my dental health and then subsequently put together a plan moving forward.
