Fantastic experience: Recently had a badly rotted, shattered wisdom tooth extracted by Dr Alan Sfeir at Bytes of Byron. While the pain was unavoidable, he made the whole experience as comfortable, quick and accommodating as possible. His skill meant I had an incredible recovery with barely any swelling and a surprisingly fast healing time. The entire practice is warm, friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend Dr Sfeir and the team to anyone needing dental work done in the area.

From the next day onwards I felt instantly brighter, more clarity, more creative thoughts, less brain fog, less fatigue in the morning. It was like a cloud had been lifted. Fantastic experience: I had an appointment 4 weeks ago and had a miss hap nearby the clinic.I sprained my ankle badly and the staff in Bytes were extremely kind and helped me. Fantastic experience: I am normally petrified of dentists and I have seen quite a few in my years and Dr Jonathon Jeff was very gentle, sensitive and painless of the removal of my amalgam fillings and replacing them with the composite fillings. The procedure was very professional using the right equipment so there was no leakage of the amalgam in my mouth or on my body. I highly recommend Dr Jeff. I won’t hesitate in coming back if I had any more dental procedures Eve :)

Negative experience: A moment hasn’t gone by that I didn’t regret my decision to seek dental treatment at Bytes of Byron Bay. I have been in pain for the past 3 months since my first appointment and have been recovering from ptsd from the shocking treatment I received, I could have died if I hadn’t sought out a second opinion from another dentist. Having visited other holistic dentists since I now know how poor and substandard the treatment was at Bytes of Byron Bay. I saw Dr Jonathan Jeff as I was concerned about an old route canal and was asking him whether it would be good to extract it, without doing any proper check up or explaining to me the risks of extraction and that I would then also have an uneven bite and need an implant Dr Jeff simply extracted the tooth (a definite red flag a dentist doing a procedure like this without taking time to have a proper consultation) the extraction was pretty rough, there was no extra support for my neck and the dental practice and chair feels old and dated. The after care instructions were quite vague and incomplete, I called on the Saturday concerned I may have an infection or dry socket and was told it was fine, Sunday I had to go to emergency as the socket started bleeding like crazy, Monday I saw Jeff again and he just put a gauze in the socket and advised if he was me he wouldn’t take antibiotics. I went back in again on the Wednesday in extreme pain and was told again by Jeff that he wouldn’t take antibiotics in my case, he offered to inject anaesthetic to numb the area, I didn’t have a good feeling about this which I expressed and asked about the toxicity of the anaesthetic, I was dismissed and told it would be fine and that was the least of my worries, out of it from the pain I let him inject me and that evening my smile started twitching and all the nerves in my mouth felt strange, tingly and burning, it hasn’t felt the same since and that was almost 3 months ago. I got a very weird feeling from Jeff, a kind of nonchalant really didn’t care vibe even when I was white and shaking from extreme pain. I found another incredible holistic dentist with a beautiful modern practice and they confirmed there was an acute infection and if I had followed Dr Jonathan Jeff’s advice to not take antibiotics I would have ended up in hospital in a day or two. Fortunately with the antibiotics and cleaning the socket back to the bone I was able to heal quickly and was out of the insane pain I was in for 10 days. But I was still left with the nerve pain from the unwanted anaesthetic I am so shaken up from this experience, I have had to spend thousands on physical and psychosocial support and my trust in people has been severely shaken. The manager of the practice gave me $3000 hush money to take down my initial review of my experience, I accepted the money at the time as I was unable to work and needed a lot of support with my healing process but it does not sit well in my heart that Dr Jonathan Jeff is still working for the practice and other people’s health, well being and lives could be in danger, after much consideration I share my story here again. All the dentists at Bytes of Byron are contractors and the owner doesn’t really seem to know the quality of their work that well, I strongly advise visiting an owner ran practice. I’ve learnt that going to an owner ran practice where they take massive pride in their work and services is really important, never have a tooth out from a dentist who doesn’t do a proper consultation, it’s incredibly dangerous to not take antibiotics in certain situations and always listen to your own gut feelings with regards to what is put in your body with anaesthetic etc, speak up louder if you aren’t being heard, not all holistic dentists are good, use PRF and boost your body up if you are removing a root canal.

Negative experience: Dr Jonathan Jeff attempted to unsuccessfully remove my wisdom teeth in the chair, which resulted in lock jaw, swelling and an infection. A second opinion assured me that they would never attempt to remove my wisdom teeth in the chair as my scans showed that my bottom wisdom teeth were so heavily impacted and with double roots, needing to be cracked to remove. Quite a traumatic experience. The lockjaw, swelling and infection from this incident was a thousand times worse than my recovery was after a successful removal in the hospital with anaesthesia - no infection or lock jaw at all.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist, great service! I was in Byron as a tourist from California, and broke a tooth. Dr. Jeff immediately responded and gave me some sound advice that carried me through the weekend. He then saw me on Monday morning and put a temporary filling to help me until I got back home. I now saw my dentist and my endodontist back in California, and they both said he did such a great job the temporary filling is practically indistinguishable from a permanent filling. Thanks, Dr. Jeff!

Fantastic experience: I was really happy with my experience with the Bytes of Byron Dental Group. I was happy to be treated by Dr. Jonathan who had a lovely and gentle personality. He was good in calming me down, was very thorough in explaining to me what was going on, and he even answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly as well. I was in a lot of pain and I called several Dentists in the area and no one was accommodating with emergencies except for Bytes Dental who right away made sure that I could get a spot because I was in so much pain. They were caring and understanding towards my need of a dentist right away. I’m happy with the result of my fillings. No problems with it and it’s been a month now, so I thought to write a review. Problem fixed and for sure I will be going back to see them for my next dental treatments. Not to mention the staff were very pleasant and knowledgeable and answered all my questions, which made me feel more secure and took away my apprehension. Mauro was very accommodating and welcoming which made me feel they are not just any dental practice but one that actually cares for you. I only have good things to say about Bytes of Byron. Seemed very 'Wholistic' and not, "Let's Drill out all your teeth and replace them with Fillings.". Really appreciate being told "You can do this instead.

Negative experience: Went for a clean and my teeth looked the same as before! During the cleaning I thought it was weird that I did felt absolutely nothing and when I finished my mouth didn’t felt clean like I thought if would! The cleaning was quick and a ripped off as I still have my plaque in all my teeth! Really sad! Won’t go back!

Negative experience: I'm pretty astonished by John's lack of quality workmanship, long story short if you value your smile, pick a different practice. I went in a few months ago with a very small chip on my front tooth to get it filled. Within a few days the filling had come out. I book a other appointment and to his credit he refilled it again for free. It then falls out another time less than a week later, the receptionist made me wait several weeks for another appointment all the while I now have a larger gap then what I started with due to John drilling it back (otherwise perfectly fine tooth). I go in for a third time and this time he grinds back a clearly and significantly visible line from my tooth without my consent, I was pretty shocked. He told me it was so my bite would sit better but I would've preferred he instead took it off the bottom not where it's so clearly visible and far worse of a problem then what I came in for. He sort of fills the new cut he just made, now the filling he filled has partially come out again and I have a serrated front tooth. All the while with every appointment he's pushing me to get other work done so he can presumably make a buck while unsuccessful at the original task. I wish I never went in.

Negative experience: Dentist was good with my child but it seemed she didn't take the time to really look properly as her recommendation for general anaesthetic and fillings for my 2 year old was totally over the top and unnecessary, I took him to other dentists after who told me this and are going to treat the small cavities in the chair with no need for GA. She didn't take the time to answer my questions or run through any options, I left feeling really overwhelmed and anxious. thankfully I have taken him to other dentists since who have reassured me that it is not as bad as it appeared after my appointment at Bites of Byron. I won't be going back there.

Fantastic experience: A short time ago, I was eating my dinner when a massive piece of my back top left tooth chipped (1/4) right down to the gum line. This same tooth had been giving me a lot of pain for over two years. When it chipped I could not drink cold water because of the pain. I went and seen Bytes of Byron to get it looked at and book an appointment. They could have got me in that day. But I choose to book it for one week, so I could prepare mentally. They did a X-ray to look for nerve damage. Give the tooth a rebuild my giving me a filling. It's been a week now. I can eat and drink with zero pain. It's honestly better than it was before it chipped. The owner and staff were very helpful, friendly and made me feel comfortable. A massive thank you to all to team at Bytes of Byron. Im an older person now and like most of us our age I have a set of teeth with a complex history of alot of previous work and new problems every year. Mauro and his team of excellent dentists appreciated this and went out of their way to work with me to get alot of very difficult work done. I really appreciate both the expertise of the dentists and of Mauro, who persevered with this challenging situation. So, if any of you are nervous, as I was, about tackling really complex dental problems, rest assured that you can relax, knowing that this very professional team of people will take very good care of you. Fantastic experience: Myself and the whole family use Bytes of Byron for our dentistry. We migrated from a dentist that told us off so much during each visit that we dreaded going at all. Discovering the crew at Bytes of Byron has completely removed the anxiety associated with self loathing, high costs, and the fear that our 3 young kids had about going to the dentist. Now, we get down to earth, rational advice and expectations about our teeth based on our stage in life. Despite having great teeth I used to despair after yet another earful about not flossing enough but with their advice I am told at the end of appointments with Bytes that I just need to keep doing what I'm doing. I wish all dentists had the same culture.
