Negative experience: I just had the worst teeth-cleaning experience ever. The dentist, Jack, spent less than five minutes cleaning my teeth. I walked into his office at 12:10 pm, and by 12:20 pm the entire appointment was over. I raised my concerns with the receptionist and paid the $184 bill at 12:35 pm. When I told the dentist that five minutes isn’t enough time to properly clean someone’s teeth, he replied that he believed my teeth were already clean and didn’t need more work. Someone is just trying to do minimum and thinking they can get by without any work ethic. I do think I have the responsibility to let more know my very bad experience so that more people treat their work more seriously.

Negative experience: DISAPPOINTING!!!!! This clinic doesnt bother to pick up calls, and if you leave a voicemail no call back. Went in once for an enquiry(probably a tuesday or wednesday) and the receptionist had no clue wat she was doing. couldnt understand me at all. Felt like she had 0 training... no idea why they hire someone who clearly isn’t competent enough for this job. think it was a south asian woman.

Negative experience: Had few fillings and dentist left material on teeth. I must say worst dentist I have ever been too. Seems it was a student just out of college. Also her helper dropped everything on the floor . Was a disaster . My partner said I should go back and get my teeth fixed . I’m to scared too. If you want to be scared for rest of life then go here. My re commendation to find alternate dentist. Terrible.

Fantastic experience: I needed an urgent appointment today after sustaining a tooth fracture whilst overseas. I was able to book today (first day back from holidays) with Dr Al-Saka. Not only did I appreciate being able to attend on a weekend, the reception staff, dental hygienist, and Dr Al-Saka were incredibly professional. Dr Al-Saka made a comprehensive clinical assessment, x-ray, cool test, and then proceeded to outline my options. Importantly, he offered his professional opinion regarding what he thought would be the next best course of action and next steps should this repair fail. As a healthcare professional I know the importance of good communication and I was suitably impressed by Dr Al-Saka today. This is similar to my last visit where I was also impressed by Dr Annalene. As a result, I will now move all my regular checkups to Pacific Smiles Dental (Upper Mount Gravatt) and highly recommend it to friends, family, and colleagues.

Negative experience: Very disappointed to a dentist named Jerermy Sheng! During the dental filling procedure, the dentist improperly operated the electric instrument and hit my mother's tongue (her head definitely did not move), causing immediate bleeding and a split wound. Shockingly, he downplayed the incident and did not provide any treatment for the wound, nor did he apologize proactively—likely because acknowledging it and offering proper care would imply severity and consequences for him. Only after my mother cried out in pain and I pressed him did he casually say "sorry," using gauze to barely stop the bleeding before dismissively claiming it was "fine" and suggesting painkillers if needed. I could have understood an accidental slip, but I cannot forgive his complete lack of remedial action. Furious at his unconcerned attitude, I went to the front desk and demanded another doctor examine my mother. I insisted they document the injury with photos for my records. The second doctor named Jack assessed the wound and determined it required stitches, which made it look far less severe. Thank you.

Positive experience: Male receptionist (south asian appearance) was condescending and dismissive. I experienced this on two separate interactions so this behaviour really should be addressed. Dentists here have always been great - really professional, thorough and never push more treatment than is required.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jack was honest and skilfully tried his best to accommodate my request. I went around few clinics because of broken filling. Other two clinics refused to fix it for me saying I need to take the tooth out and do the implant immediately. Dr Jack was the one who fixed it with the post so I could keep the tooth, until it looks worse that I would need an implant later. Real dentist, not just aim for money

Negative experience: My kid did not get floride treatment excuse was it's given to kids at age of 10. This is my 3rd child and all my kids get floride treatment since they started seeing dentist. In another location same company didn't use numbing gel to clean teeth when patient clearly said they has sensitive teeth. Waste of money and these are taking short cut in cost cutting. Dentist didn't know how to even deal with a 2 years old. She called a green dinosaur Elmo. Kid was shocked. Didn't make child comfortable. It was indian female dentist. Perhaps other Asian dentist might have done a better job.

Negative experience: I came to my appointment and was told that me dentist went on holidays. I received a reminder on my SMS and email about my appointment. However, on my arrival my appointment was actually canceled without informing me in advance so I don’t waste my time. I took work off for this and urgently needed a check up. I was then offered to wait for the only dentist there for more than three hours at the end of the day or reschedule. NO thanks! I have also sent an email to complaint for an answer but no response.

Positive experience: My daughter and I saw Dr Alfred Li, amazing dentist. His dental assistant looked disengaged and at times "bored:. When it came to the payment, we were left "speechless" of the lack of understanding of the receptionist who kept apologising she was new. When we drove out of the shopping centre she called us to ask to come back since she forgot to take the payment ( and swipe my health care card) Such shame we found a great dentist but the receptionists lack the training to take a payment... considering this is a huge franchise .. why would they not provide proper training to their staff......

Negative experience: Really liked my dentist I had great service and she was kind and trustworthy until my last visit. I suffer from dental anxiety and so I tend to shake during the procedure. During this appointment I had X-rays done and was told I had a fair bit of work to get done. Before the procedure was finished she downed tools and promptly told me she was done working with me as I shook too much and showed me the door. I was terribly disappointed and quite hurt actually as I said earlier I liked her and thought she was a good dentist. I have since tried a number of times to make another appointment with her as she said I needed a lot of work done and I was also told she would continue to work with me however the same receptionist keeps telling me there is no work to be done in my file. Go figure! I was also told a number of times that they would get back to me but they didn’t. I really want to keep using this particular dentist as she is a good dentist and up till now been very kind. I just don’t know what to do. Judy

Negative experience: I would not recommend Dr Siddiqui. I found him to be very invalidating when I explained that I was allergic to Fluroride ( diagnosed by a Prof of Immunology), - he have me a toothpaste with Fluroride in it to use ( and told me it didn't contain Fluroride when asked), uneducated about the impacts of Ehlers danlos syndrome and mast cell activation on the body and discounted my previous experiences that have left me with severe dental phobia. I would recommend people find another periodontist if they are looking for a professional who is professional, empathic and who listens to their patients. The reception has been a total debacle when it comes to getting appointment times and even details like my phone number correct.

Negative experience: I have been a loyal customer of your clinic for the past two years, consistently scheduling bi-annual cleanings, fillings, and visits to the gum specialist as needed. I have always been very satisfied with the care provided by your dentists, who are incredibly attentive and make me feel well looked after. However, I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with my recent crown consultation with Dr. Bilal. The consultation lasted approximately 10 minutes and cost me $180. During the appointment, I made it clear that I wanted a quotation to replace all my crowns, and Dr. Bilal assured me that he would provide one once I sent over the OPG. I promptly sent the OPG to your clinic the very next day, on the 31st of January 2025. Over the past 10 days, I have made multiple follow-up calls and even visited the clinic in person on Saturday, the 8th of February, to inquire about the quotation. The receptionist informed me that Dr. Bilal could not be reached and that the matter would be escalated to the manager on Monday, the 10th of February. When I called again today, I was told that I would need to schedule another appointment with Dr. Bilal, potentially incurring another $180 dollars. This experience has left me feeling undervalued as a loyal customer. I believe I deserve a refund for the initial consultation, as the promised quotation was not delivered despite my efforts to follow up. This situation has made me reconsider whether I should continue my dental care with your clinic or seek services elsewhere. I hope you can address this issue promptly and provide a resolution that reflects the high standard of care I have come to expect from your clinic.

Negative experience: Dentists always seem to be unavailable and for the check-ups I always get rescheduled at the last minute with a different dentist. During my last check-up, the dentist said I needed to get fillings so I set an appointment in December. Since then, the dentist is always unavailable on the days that I book (which the receptionist says that the dentist WORKS on those days) until now it has reached February and I just received a call needing to reschedule to March. At this point, it will reach next year before I receive my fillings. Extremely unprofessional. Also in comparison, their teeth cleaning seems to be less meticulous than other clinics. Do not go here if you do not want to waste your time.

Negative experience: I made an appointment for my tooth filling a month ago, but I didn't receive any notification and was told that my appointment was cancelled because the dentist was unavailable. This was a very bad experience. I confirmed again that I didn't receive any reschedule message. My appointment was at 11:30, but they called me at 11:20 to say it was cancelled, and they said it was because I didn't check my email, not their problem! I was already on my way to the dental clinic. This dental clinic needs to seriously consider the work efficiency and service attitude of your employees. It is totally unacceptable and waste customer time!!

Negative experience: I was walking past in a bit of a hurry just now @2:30pm Friday 13th September. I made eye contact with the receptionist before entering the store and gave her a smile. As soon as I walked up to the counter, she picked up the phone and answered a call. She looked at me and mouthed, “hold on.” I stood there for a minute or two as she continued not to acknowledge me, so I said, “Don’t worry about it, thank you!” being in a hurry. Waved and zero acknowledgment from her. I would recommend better training for receptionists as they are the first point of contact for potential customers. I unfortunately left with a bad impression of the business and will be going elsewhere in the future for my services.

Negative experience: Honestly, you should fire the receptionist I think her names Eranka. Absolutely appalling, some of the rudest customer service I’ve seen. Her colleagues are much politer than her. As paying customer, you can’t say ‘it’s your mistake’ without knowing anything. I booked an appointment for my kid on the 6th of July for 5 Aug. After arriving, another receptionist tells me that the booking I made a month prior wasn’t actually filed into the system, just kept in their notes. It was frustrating but what else can you do? I was told to rebook and come back the next day. The next day ,once the treatments finished, they told me I could be eligible for the child dental rebate. I told them that I’m happy to pay the full amount first and sort the Medicare. They said I must call first. I was on the phone with Medicare for over an hour. When I finish the call, there were 3-4 group ppl waiting in front of me and no one at the receptionist. I have to attend another appointment, and there is no one at the receptionist. Today this rude receptionist called me after her colleague called me just 30 mins prior. I told her I already explained the situation to her colleague and coming today to pay for it. She is super rude in the phone and saying ‘it is your mistake. It is a crime.’ All the dentists are nice there, but I will not come back to this clinic.

Negative experience: I waited over 10 minutes after booked time and another 15 minutes for just an attendance certificate without any apologies . I was changed $350 for 20 minutes cleaning including $155 x ray which I wasn’t informed at all. The doctor could have asked me if I want to take a $ 155 x ray test. No transparency at this place from my experience. Wouldn’t choose here anymore

Negative experience: I was 7 minutes late for my appointment with Dr.Henry due to circumstances beyond my control, despite calling the clinic 20 minutes prior to inform them of my delay. Unfortunately, He asked to me reschedule my appointment upon arrival. While I fully understand the importance of punctuality, I find it concerning that my appointment was canceled despite my efforts to communicate and provide advance notice of my tardiness. What adds to my frustration is that during my last visit, the dentist kept me waiting for 15 minutes past my scheduled time without any apology or acknowledgment. I understand that delays can happen, and appointments can run over for various reasons. However, I believe these situations should be handled with empathy and consideration for both parties involved. In my case, a bit of flexibility and understanding would have been greatly appreciated.

Fantastic experience: Had 2 great experiences here so far. This is the closest Pacific Smiles to me and they are AHM’s preferred provider. Definitely worth the travel at Mt Gravatt is pretty easily accessible by public transport. The two dentists I’ve seen were great communicators who gave me great education about my oral health. So happy to be a regular customer here and finally have a dentist that I will visit regularly every 6 months! Thank you for always taking great care of me and my teeth.

Negative experience: I had a regular trust worth dentist that I usually went. Unfortunately they are not on Medibank list. This left me with no choice but to shift to Pacific Smile at Westfield Garden City QLD 4122 as suppose I can get more cover from my Medibank insurance cover. At second visit, the dentist suggested I needed to do remove my old fillings for 4 teeth and replace with new one. Without much knowledge in this field , I accepted it. It was uncomfortable during the procedure. Then 1 hours after the procedure, I was in pain and I could feel the fillings were not smooth. Had to go back and fix some of them. Now few weeks later I still feel sore especially when I had cold drink or food. I called them and said I wanna come and have another check out with the other dentist. Then they said I would need to pay for another consultation fee and they will charge me if anything need to be fixed. I was in shock. I said why do I need to pay for something if potentially is an error caused by your side? They said they don’t have other option. They said they can do a check up for me without I need to pay any gap. However would still need to deduct from my Medibank cover. The whole experience is horrible with Pacific Smile. They may sell they are cheaper than others as they are on Medibank supplier list, however down the track they don’t want to admit and be responsible to fix anything afterwards.

Negative experience: 16/11/2023 Dental visit for a yearly examination and we showed both Medicare and Medibank cards. We were advised we are good to go and the bill is settled. 14/02/2024 We received a call and we were advised that we have an outstanding bill from last visit. We were told that It will go to the debt collection if we don’t settle the bill the next day. It is such a long time to process a bill and it is also such a short notice for us to handle the bill. We feel like we were intimidated and threatened. It is only a $139 bill but we are really annoyed by the way this dental clinic is handling. Lack of transparency and professionalism.

The recommendation for extensive dental work felt unjustified, and the total cost estimate of over $750 after insurance left me feeling concerned and confused. Trusting the expertise of the dentist, I reluctantly considered the proposed treatment plan. However, my intuition led me to seek a second opinion from my regular dentist. Upon examination, my trusted dentist confirmed what I suspected: I didn't require a single filling. The stark contrast between the diagnoses was alarming and left me feeling both shocked and appalled. My experience serves as a cautionary tale for others considering Pacific Smiles Dental. While I cannot speak to the intentions behind their recommendations, I urge anyone feeling uncertain about the advice they've received to seek a second opinion before proceeding with extensive dental work. Positive experience: Dentists are ok, always on time. Receptionist are nice as well. The only issue is their booking system is really bad. I called in to cancel my appointments 2 times because i kept receiving reminders. Staff always confirmed they already canceled it. I even asked them to check if that appointment is cancelled when I walked pass the shop. So basically, I tried to confirm about the cancellation 3 times, but for some reason, staff still called me to check if I was late for that apportionment on the day

Fantastic experience: updated: I am happy with DR Choi’s and her assistant! They did a perfect job and totally professional! Last:A late review. Cleaned my teeth but this can be considered the worst service ever. The dentist did not do a good clean as it is supposed to be.
Negative experience: Took my 7 year old for filling. Doctor was really in a hurry that she didn’t finish cleaning up and without cleaning properly she filled the cavity. During the procedure she kept telling my kid that she will need to keep her cheek loose and mouth open otherwise she can’t work and she has other patients waiting. Told us that she will need to refer my child to other dentist as my child doesn’t let her do the job. I know my child was not leaving her mouth open for long period but I would have expected doctor to have more patience when working with kids and not constantly remind us that she has more patients waiting. We were not getting the treatment for free. Now my child will have to go through all this again. It is not just about money but having to go through this again will leave a bad impression on her about dental procedures.

Negative experience: Had a 12:10 appointment. Got there on time, they told me to take a seat. 12:40 comes around, nurse comes out says will only be 10 more minutes. 1pm comes back out and says will need to cancel the appointment and rebook. Complete waste of my time. Can guarantee they'd be charging me a cancellation fee if I stood them up like that.

Negative experience: Apart from one good dentist, Dr Riyon Choi, everything there is utterly hopeless from the admin who constantly mucks up my appointments (which resulted in me losing a tooth!!) to the system that consistently fails to the other dentists who are so rough and have zero care factor! Fantastic experience: Dr Modelski was amazing from my very first visit right up to my last appointment. During my experience of having my top teeth removed to the denture being made Dr Modelski supported me in every way, not only did he look after my wellbeing he made sure that I was fully aware of the process and ensured I completely understood what was happening and that I was comfortable in every decision made. Dr Modelski was never concerned over making more money from up selling products he was completely focused on ensuring that I ended up with the smile I once had again. Hands down this has been the best dental experience I have ever had and I can not thank Dr Modelski enough. Lastly I would like to thank the young lady at the front desk who also helped me with a smile and was always very helpful
