Fantastic experience: Absolutely loved our appointment. Everyone was lovely, patient and kind. Having a TV on the ceiling is a brilliant idea and a great distraction. One of my kids is autistic and doesn’t usually open up to medical professionals but she loved it and was as bubbly and happy as can be. Definitely recommend this dental practice

Negative experience: I had root canal in another dentist office this week. 1 hour after that I got a very severe tooth ache, I could hardly do anything. I drove back to my dentist, unfortunately they were closed . I went to this dental office. They totally refused to see me though they could see I was in so much pain , unbelievable, I work in medical health myself. I WOULD NEVER EVER treat someone like that

We always aim to help anyone in discomfort, and it’s never our intention for a patient to feel turned away. Unfortunately, as the root canal was performed at another clinic and we didn’t have access to your records, there are certain situations where we are limited in what emergency care we can safely provide. Especially outside of booked appointments or when no dentist is available.
We truly understand how frustrating that must have felt, especially when you were in so much pain. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation, please call ahead — we can often help arrange urgent care or guide you to the fastest place to get the relief you need.

Negative experience: All is not as it seems when it comes to reviews ... I visited on the 13th (my 2nd visit) for a pain in my gum diagnosed as gum disease not anything to do with the tooth so the dentist suggested a clean that may not work and if not the tooth would have to go. Pleasant, polite, engaging. The final advice was that we'd know within 2 days if it worked and if it did the tooth would be saved so I thought makes sense let's do it if not it would have to go .. makes sense also. I waited two days during which the pain got worse and my mouth felt terrible. By the 16th it was unbearable so back I went to be told that the neighbouring tooth had a crack in it thats where the pain was coming from. But it was fine 3 days ago on the X ray it was healthy could this have happened when the other dentist (you don't see the same one) cleaned in this very area? Not an unreasonable conclusion I thought .. Reply ...Oh that's highly unlikely! Well of course they're not going to admit anything so we rip out what was previously a healthy tooth while my mouth is still on fire ... Oh that will settle down now. Since then I've had 2 GP visits a swab and been diagnosed with an acute bacterial infection in my mouth ... l hadn't been sick or in pain for 2 years prior to my visit ... I'm on my second dose of antibiotics, can't swallow and haven't slept or eaten properly for 10 days and have one less previously healthy tooth and will probably have to get the other one removed... Understand why I'd question all the positive reviews because even if they are accurate don't go through what I am going through with this infection still out of control Inexcusable to get a bacterial infection visiting a dentist no matter how good they are and the first thing my GP asked was "have you been to a dentist in the last few days" ...
Fantastic experience: I am so happy I finally found Dr Ryan Mils again. He always made me feel so comfortable and cured me of my fear of dentists. He helped me through a difficult time with my teeth and thanks to him I am am back on a healthy path. Thanks Dr Ryan

Fantastic experience: I have nothing but good words for the team at Coastal Dental. The girls on the front desk / phones are always bright and bubbly. They just seem like genuinely happy people which is great. Dr Neil looks after my teeth. He’s a very clear communicator when he discusses something with me, always takes the time to fully answer any questions I have, he’s very good when carrying out procedures and his pain management ensures there is no discomfort. Fantastic experience: Dr Upeka and the assistants are so great warm and friendly and put me at ease. I tend to get anxiety from some previous bad experiences with other dentists so I'm now choosy about who I see. So glad I found Upeka. Fantastic experience: I had the pleasure of being treated by Dr Upeka but I have to commend the admin as well for being able to get me in for an urgent treatment. My wife had just given birth to our baby boy the day before and we were staying in special care nursery in Gosford Hospital. I was able to see Dr Upeka that day right before Christmas and the holiday business down time. She was very informative and educated me thoroughly on my situation and why it had occurred. I will definitely be moving over to this practice and would love to bring the whole family if they have the space. Keep up the great work!

Negative experience: Out of five dentists at this practice, it’s absolutely impossible to get an appointment for a treatment plan. Each time I’ve been called and asked to reschedule and the same excuses are always given: dentists only work 3 days a week, dentists have children, dentists are sick, dentists are fully booked for over a month… it’s gotten to the point where there seems to be no respect for patients’ time. Reception have done their best, but my guess is there’s only so much you can do when the dentists just work and take appointments when they feel like it. Bad impression overall for a new patient.

Fantastic experience: I have recently attended Coastal Dental with 3/3 of my children and have also attended myself. We were looking for a new family dentist who really cared about helping our children build a wonderful trusting relationship with the dentist as a significant foundation in their oral health journey. Our appointments were on time or very close to the booked time. The practise is clean and comfortable. Staff were all friendly, understanding and exceptionally helpful. Specifically, we all saw Dr Stephan who treated my children with respect and care. Dr Stephan truly appreciates the importance of building a rapport and supporting people to have an experience that feels safe and positive. My children definitely felt comfortable and safe. Fantastic experience: Dr Upeka is an excellent dentist - can highly recommend her. My daughter came to see her after another well known dentist, who was supposed to correct the alignment of her lower teeth completely messed it up and left her much worse off than when she started. Thanks to Dr Upeka her teeth are all now in perfect alignment which makes an incredible difference to her smile. She has also done fabulous work on my teeth too - boosted my confidence. Fantastic experience: Coastal Dental is the only dental clinic I would go to. I have been coming here for years. The reception staff are friendly and always address you by name, the dental nurses are proficient and very friendly and Dr Upeka is a highly skilled professional dentist who is also kind, caring and only thinks of her patient’s best interests. Fantastic experience: I had my wisdom tooth extracted by Dr Upeka and it was the most pleasurable experience I had with any dentist so far. She took time before and after every step of the procedure and precautions to take post removal. Also good service from girls at reception. Definitely would recommend her to anyone who is looking for dental.
