Fantastic experience: Shepherds Hill Dental have been our family Dentist since moving to Adelaide from outback NSW in 2018. They have been absolute professionals dealing with all our family's Dental health. Their recommendations for care from Orthodontics (two lots of braces for our kids) to Periodontal (crowns & implants for smashed teeth following a traumatic incident) and all round dental work has been outstanding. Dr Renee Ashby, Dr Jasper Lee, Dr Thakara Narayana & Dr Ryan Cornish are all absolutely amazing in their field of work along with the team of Dental Hygienists & reception Staff. Thanks SHDC for your commitment and service to maintaining my family's Dental health.

Fantastic experience: Great dentist. I always have a great experience here

Negative experience: Most staff are great, the older female receptionist however is incredibly rude. First time there was waiting by desk to check in, she was busy focused on the computer which is fair enough so I took a seat thinking she acknowledge and check me when she completed her task, she of cause did but only after snapping a little about not just coming in and taking a seat without checking in. My next visit she was conversing with another patient who already was seated, I dared not to just sit down and waited quite a bit of time before she finally acknowledged me and checked me in. I now have chosen to use one of the other two dentists close by.

Negative experience: Not autism friendly as advertised at all Took advantage of one of our kids who has just started in the work force and upsold a range of unnecessary treatments .to him and then charged over $300 which he felt he had no option but to pay Would not recommend and will be taking our Business elsware

Fantastic experience: Excellent Dentist. Very lucky to have found Tharaka and Renae and the team, they are excellent down to earth dentist who treat your teeth like their own. Great and forward planning without making you feel judged about your previous dental care or decisions. 10/10 everyday of the week.

All the dental assistances have been absolutely wonderful too. All round an amazing practice especially for people with dental fear and mental health issues like myself. My dental visits are slowly getting easier every time and I don't have full on panic attacks before my appointments any more. _______________ 2022 review: If you have dental fear, anxiety, trauma...then Shepherds Hill Dental Centre are for you. I am so happy to finally have found a dentist that actually care about my mental health! Dental visits for me have always been so traumatising, not only because of past bad dental experiences, but also because or other trauma relating to my mouth. A dental visit usually leaves me in tears & PTSD to deal with for up to weeks after but everyone at Shepherds Hill Dental Centre have been so amazing and accomodating, all the ladies at the desk and my chosen dentist Dr Renee have been wonderful. My first appointment was hard for me because of my background. It did take me a few days to recover from it mentally (it was just a check up), but today I went back for my first filling and I left there feeling better than I went in (I was in tears before going in though but that was expected). The whole process went really well. I felt well taken care of every step of the way. Renee didnt waste any time, was quick, talked me through everything she was doing as she was doing it so I'm not just sitting there wondering what is going on, how much longer etc, she allowed me to make choices along the way so we could take the path most comfortable for me. I have to go in for one more filling and a hygienist appointment and for once Im not totally scared. I know if I do feel triggered before going in that I will be met with really lovely people who care and for someone with mental health issues that makes a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference to their experience. The reason why I chose this clinic is because of all the reviews I read here similar to mine. So I just wanted to come and add to it and hopefully help someone else find a great dentist for themselves too. Thank you to all the team at Shepherds Hill Dental Centre!

Fantastic experience: Best dentist and hygienist ever … I go every 6 months. It is the best way of keeping your teeth healthy and of course, brushing at least twice daily. Dr Tharaka is excellent and my favourite dentist, but then they all are excellent at Shepherds Hill Dental Centre.

Fantastic experience: The dentists and hygienists at this practice are highly professional and friendly. Further to this, I recently sought Dr Lee’s help for my long standing snoring issue. He fitted me with a mouthguard specifically designed and this has cut my snoring back to almost nothing. I’m so happy with this result.

Fantastic experience: Can’t recommend Renee and her team highly enough! We’ve had a few tricky dental moments over the past few years, and Renee has always gone above and beyond, both in her own work, and in referring us to amazing specialists when necessary. My whole family is so well looked after here. On a personal note, Leean is an absolute saint! The most gentle, caring person you will ever meet. She has cured my teeth cleaning PTSD after a very ordinary experience with a dental technician from another surgery. I actually look forward to my 6 monthly visits now!!

Fantastic experience: When my dentist retired I looked for someone new. Shepherds Hill Dental Centre was highly rated so I started with a hygiene appointment. Leean's professional and informative care combined with an obvious positive work culture was reassuring. Dr Tharaka then took x-rays and created 3D imagery to illustrate and explain the state of my dental health, suggesting the next steps for my ongoing maintenance. He has since continued to demonstrate confident skill and a pleasant consultative approach.

Fantastic experience: I have very sensitive teeth, struggle with migraines which tends to be exacerbated during dental, and have had multiple traumatic experiences with dentists. However, my experience with Dr. Renee was very good. She took the time to reduce my anxiety by addressing my concerns and constantly monitoring for any distress.

Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Shepherds Hill Dental Centre in particular Dr Jasper and hygienist Jessica. Dr Jasper was amazing with my two little boys (4 and 6 yrs old). Dr Jasper was extremely thorough with his examination and was able to easily review both boy’s teeth without either child getting distressed. I also highly recommend hygienist Jessica who was also fantastic with children and teaching them the basics of cleaning teeth. Thankyou Dr Jasper and Jessica for making our visit to the dentist such a fun and positive experience.

Fantastic experience: If you're one of those people who struggles with everything about going to the dentist, Shepherds Hill Dental Centre and Dr. Jasper Lee might be ideal for you too. Professional, friendly and clear communication, explanation of work needed that made sense, didn't ask stupid anxiety-triggering questions or try to have extended conversations when you can't answer them. The surgical tools on hand were a generation or more newer, smoother and less agnonising than any dental practice I've been to before and my broken tooth was filled and refaced so well my mind struggles to accept it's not the original. While unfortunately I do need more work, it was priced the exact opposite of my last work in Sydney - while the fees seem standard having a dentist who doesn't round up, who I can trust and who is personable and cares about my experience makes this the first time I've managed to go back anywhere for a visit without sedation. The fountain in the waiting area and friendly staff don't hurt either.

Fantastic experience: Shepherds Hill Dental Centre is a centre for Oral Health Excellence, with a wonderful warm caring and professional team of people who have your best interests at heart. From the front of house welcome, the Dentists, Hygienists and experienced support team will care for you as an individual. Many of their activities are testament to the support this team offers their community and beyond...Opening their practice to participate in the ADA Dental Rescue Day for disadvantaged members of the community, is one generous example. A beautiful relaxing enviroment with large windows, bringing in lots of light and garden views helps to create a gentle and calm energy. This practice has been around for over 40 years so you know they are doing it right and continuing to provide up to date dental care for generations.

Fantastic experience: I am really happy with the dental care given. I broke a tooth and Sherie the receptionist worked really hard to find me appointment, even with Covid absences. Dr Renee Ashby the dentist is the best I have ever had, she was so good with the anaesthetic and she repaired my tooth. I have had really bad experiences as a small child so I hate going to the dentist. Today Jess the Hygienist cleaned my teeth and was really careful as I have sensitive teeth. I highly recommend this team.

Fantastic experience: I have been attending the clinic for over 40 years, and my husband for a little less. The professionalism, skill and caring manner of both the dental and reception staff is exceptional. We have always been greeted by reception staff in a friendly and welcoming way. My husband recently required significant dental work which he thought would be beyond our finances (we are age pensioners) but the receptionist made this possible with a payment plan. Without this he could not have the work done. The dental staff always make procedures as comfortable as possible. We would not hesitate to recommend the centre to anyone requiring their services. A very well deserved 5 stars.

After visiting Shepherds Hill Dental Centre a few months ago when in pain, Dr Jasper made me feel at ease straight away, and honestly, I left wondering why I had been putting off my dental care for all these years! Fantastic experience: I used to gp tp Shepherds Hill Dental Clinic years ago until I moved interstate. On my return to SA I returned to this dental clinic. Even though there were new owners by that stage I found the current practice to be just as good as before. Tharaka (dentist) is very thorough and professional, is a great communicator and has a wonderful sense of humour. All of the dental hygienists I have had here are very caring and very professional in their work. Likewise the reception staff are very welcoming. I would not hesitate in recommending this practice to others.

Fantastic experience: Quite literally the Shepherds Hill Dental Clinic saved my life. It was their diligence that led to my timely diagnosis of having Acute Myeloid Leukemia when no symptom other than a minor dental issue was evident. But for their advice to that I seek a medical review it would have been too late. Their dental care and attention in these years following my treatment and stem cell transplant has been nothing short of extraordinary.

My experience with the dentist and hygienist has been the best I have ever come across. They have explained everything in detail and are extremely gentle providing the best possible care. They care about you as a person. They are upfront about the cost proving you with several options including understanding your health fund rebates. Clearly they have their focus on providing patients with the best possible experience.
