Fantastic experience: Thanks to Dr Mahony my son now has a beautiful smile and a new lease on life. His orthodontic treatment has not only improved how he feels about his teeth but has cured his sleep apnoea. If your child has sensory needs or heightened anxiety this is the place for you. The staff are amazing and work closely with you every step along the way. Dr Mahony has now completed mine and my son’s orthodontic work.

We have a great team led by Dr Derek Mahony, who is extremely knowledgeable, and who recommends Early Interceptive treatment, which is what we did for you and your son.
Negative experience: I was very excited coming into my second appointment to hopefully start an Invisalign treatment. However, in the second appointment Dr Mahony recommended that Invisalign was not suitable for my teeth due to teeth crowding and suggested metal braces. The options presented to me were 1. Invisalign and pull out 4 teeth. Or 2. metal braces. I found this feedback difficult to process. I initially booked the first consultation with lingual braces or Invisalign in mind and Dr Mahony steered me away from lingual braces, advising it can be 3 times the cost and suggested to me that Invisalign was the better option. I had advised to him that I have received other orthodontists' opinions advising I need to pull out 4 teeth and he made mention that he does not like to pull out teeth, rather create space in the jaw as to not recede the mouth appearance. I appreciated this holistic view considering the facial structure. Due to the fact that he was aware I was interested in Invisalign (I had expressed to him I wanted something more hidden) and how he presented his preference of retaining teeth rather than pulling out teeth, I was really taken aback that he suggested to pull out 4 teeth for Invisalign. I would not have entertained getting multiple x-rays at the clinic and coming back for a second appointment if the possibility of teeth pulling for Invisalign was mentioned to me from the initial appointment. Overall, I have spent $725 (2 initial consultations and X-rays) just for Dr Mahony to tell me the same thing as another orthodontist can tell me in one free consultation. That I need to pull out 4 teeth for Invisalign. I understand that Dr Mahony is a respected professional, but this is extremely expensive for an opinion. The appointments also felt really rushed and it did not really allow me to express my concerns or thoughts. In addition to this, pricing should be accurately presented from the get-go. Strangely in my first consultation I was told 11k for metal braces/ Invisalign. But in my second consultation I was advised 12k and 13k. Other than this, 2 staff members who did my facial X-rays and photos were very pleasant to deal with.
Fantastic experience: I had Lina work on my teeth at my last appointment. I very much appreciate that she was considerate of my pain levels when removing glue and metal from one of my canines. She seemed like a highly experienced orthodontist.

here at Full Face Orthodontics strongly believes in Early Orthodontic Treatment. As with your daughter she needed to have an expansion and partial banding to align and make room for her permanent teeth.
Dr Mahony also used an Non - Extraction approach which she will benefit in the long run.

Negative experience: Lucky to be alive today after a temporary wall that wasn’t secured properly fell down. My daughter was standing in front of it only moments before. They should not be seeing patients there while they are renovating. They should rent a medical suite somewhere else while renovations are completed. I’m contacting council to have the place inspected.

Fantastic experience: I did my orthodontic training under Dr Derek's supervision seven years ago . I have to admit , he totally changed the way I practice orthodontics, his treatment plans are not only teeth driven but , they are driven by what is best for the patient face, breathing and overall facial growth. Fantastic experience: Two of my kids have now gone through Full Face and their teeth have been transformed from a mouth full of mess to perfect. No teeth removed, jaws properly aligned and smiles that light up the room. All of the staff a friendly and caring. Neither of my kids ever complained about their treatment and clearly liked the staff. Orthodontic work is expensive no matter who does it but I think Full Face have done a great job. Very good value for money.

Fantastic experience: My daughter came to Full Face Orthodontics after visiting many other clinics, to avoid pulling out any teeth. On our first consultation, we were talked through the plan with thoroughly with great detail. Fantastic experience: My daughter had early intervention for a crowded mouth with Derek Mahony and his wonderful team. Nothing is too much trouble and they went out of their way to help make our treatment plan run so smoothly especially as we live an hour away. All staff were amazing with my young daughter, making her feel at ease and comfortable with her treatment. After a year of treatment, the results have been incredible! They have not only dealt with her crowded teeth, but have also addressed my daughters mouth-breathing issues. Dr Mahony addresses the whole health picture. Fantastic experience: Dr Mahony and his team are simply outstanding. His reputation as one of the world's premiere orthodontists is much deserved and is backed up by a team of outstanding operators! Can't go wrong with Full Face Orthodontics.
Negative experience: I find it difficult to recommend coming here for braces. The staff are friendly. I chose this place due to the reviews and the knowledge of the doctor. In around 2 years of coming here I've seen the doctor maybe 3 times and the rest of the time have been varied associates. It became apparent towards the end that I had been repeatedly forgotten about in regards to seeing the doctor to inspect what his associates had done over the 2 years. I felt my concerns ignored and often felt rushed. The specialists recommended for other dental services by this doctor were overpriced and used poor setups that my mother who is a nurse was appalled by when she came to pick me up. I then decided to use my own specialists for the other parts of my dental issues and getting this doctor to effectively communicate with the other specialist was frustrating. I am not entirely happy with the results but have given up. I thought paying the premium cost here I would have had a better experience.

Thank you for providing a review for Finn's treatment. As you know, the team at, Full Face Orthodontics, under the guidance of, Dr Derek Mahony, believes in early intervention and your son is a good example of that.
In conjunction with his previous general dentist, Dr Lindsey Fagan, we were able to correct the deep overbite, and create space, for the lower missing tooth.
This has given your son a much better facial profile then what would have been the older treatment, which would have been to extract premolar teeth. Thank you once again for your kind review and we look forward to monitor Finn's case while he wears his retainers
