Positive experience: After long term family doctor retired and we moved into the area decided to attend craigmore family practice. Iv had mostly good experiences until recently. I was going to let one horrible experience slide until my daughter had another horrible experience with the same doctor today. Daugher has a skin infection pain inner ear and throat. Doctor didnt examine or take swab of skin, didnt look in ear just said take nurofen, after requesting her to look in her ear doc said its fluid and again take pain relief. Doctor refused to give a contraceptive script(repeat) told my daughter she needed to make another 10 minute appointment (she was only in for 3 minutes at this stage) I will tell everyone I know to stay away from particular doctor. Absolutely appalling

Negative experience: The receptionists seem nice, but the 2 doctors that I have seen here don't seem to be very understanding of my mental health issues. I feel patronised and demoralised every time I go there when they repeatedly tell me to do things I am struggling to do. Then I end up mentally beating myself up for being unable to do what they tell me to do. Each time I go there I leave feeling worse about myself. My mental health feels like it's just getting worse. My psychologist spends a lot of time helping me overcome the mental anguish I put myself through after each GP visit. Reminding a patient about their poor financial abilities and telling them to go for walks and have better sleep hygiene doesn't help when the patient is already struggling. I wish I could go back to my old doctor but he is too far away so I'm stuck with this kind of treatment and it's really upsetting. If you are looking for a mental health doctor I don't recommend this place.
Negative experience: My mother had been seeing Dr Leng for more than 10 years, 2 of her daughters had her committed to a nursing home without letting the rest of the siblings know, SACAT went ahead and took control of her life, I tried to get mums doctor of more than 10 years to write a a report to help get her back home but said he couldn't help her!! Deffinately not a family practice in the sense that theylook after your family, maybe while they are taking your money, discusting behavour from people who claim to be proffesionals!

Negative experience: According to website and on the practice door , they are suppose to be open on saturdays, no answer, went there. All shut. This was on 26/4/25 and no sign or notification about being closed on that day. Not acceptable.

Weekend opening is subject to availability of Doctors. Unfortunately we were unable to open on Saturday. We do try to let our patients know by putting a sign on the door but this was omitted over the weekend. We apologise for that and any inconvenienced caused to you and other patients who may have had a similar experience.

Positive experience: Sometimes is hard to connect when calling, keeps ending the call. I've had phone appointments booked and twice the doctor has failed to call me unless I call back and inquire. Long waiting periods too, very average service

Its always disappointing to hear that we haven't provided an exemplary service to our patients, however despite numerous searches I cannot find you in our database and certainly see no evidence that you had phone consultations booked that were not fulfilled. Negative experience: Tried calling at 8am no answer rang for over 10mins continuously rang back no answer unfortunately I thought new patients needed 2 appointments my daughters never been. There was a lot of appointments available when I was calling now the earliest is Thursday it's Monday the receptionist there need retraining answer the phone it's not hard
Negative experience: I have been going here 15 years and never had a problem until recently I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant and went in recently with dizziness and headaches after a trip to the hospital as they did bloodwork and as me to follow up with the gp. I hadn’t even got to the room and was being asked what was wrong so unprofessional when I asked to check my iron that the doctor had done at the hospital was told it hadn’t been done when I can see it in my health record and that I don’t need it as my other bloods are fine I have had low iron before pregnancy and a very difficult pregnancy. After 15 years at this practice I’m very much concerned going elsewhere due to this I found it very unpleasant yes this wasn’t my usual doctor and that is the only reason I’m maybe think of staying.
Negative experience: Got there at 8am at opening time, and was no one waiting in waiting room. Just needed a script for antibiotics. They told me to make an appointment and come back later, I said I just need a script will take less than five minutes and got told "can't help you".
We understand that an empty waiting room can appear as if the Doctors are free, however the Doctors appointments were all booked. It was not a simple matter of "squeezing you in" for a quick appointment as, according to our records, you have not been seen by our Doctors previously. As our Doctors all prescribe and practice ethically, a full medical history would need to be obtained prior to any prescription being given. We would be happy to book you in for an appointment for this at a mutually suitable time.
Negative experience: 40mins away by car,I called to say I might be 5 mins late to see diabetes nurse,only to be told I'm not even on the appointment today as the nurse called in sick and they had already called patients to cancel,not me !.Then I was told I cancelled the appointment ,NO I DID NOT,asked to speak to the manager as she also said I cancelled the appointment ,no it was the doctor I cancelled! Not the diabetes nurse! Oh yes she said your right the computer has ( online) cancelled the appointment! Left hand doesn't know what the right hand does! Explained also awaiting on the phone ten mins,also doctor usually late to see me,this has been ongoing for TEN YEARs now! To many things to list with this family practise so after all this time,travelling 40 mins each way to see the same doctor ,it leaves me no choice but to go elsewhere, too many incompetent things happening ,continues to fall on deaf ears!
Negative experience: I booked an appointment to see Dr Shanthi Kandas. When I attended my appointment I wished to receive support and advice on my blood test results and as I was asking for more information and explanations she slapped the form and paper in my face. I could not speak out of shock of the treatment and physical abuse i experienced, therefore i left the clinic immediately. This was my first time at this Clinic and my last I want to have immediate response and action to this doctor and her behaviour.
Negative experience: Since this clinic start charging full fee and wait for Medicare to return the gap patients paid I noticed there are less patients. I mean imagine if you go and pay $85 ! Why can’t not just pay the gap say $35! I mean people does not have the means to pay in full all the time! Not going back I found a clinic still bulk billing !

Positive experience: Whilst i appreciate for whatever reason the need to have mixed billing. Please consider at least waiving the extra fees when providing routine and ongoing prescriptions. Recently I was in appointment for only a couple of minutes - less than the 10mins I pay for, get 2 of the 3 scripts I have to pay top price for (all originally prescribed by specialists- 2 of them bulk bill me thankfully), take half the day off work to attend & as I can’t drive at the moment, therefore. so does my partner. I’m sure some patients will just drop medications just to save the financial stress it causes. I know this can be done as my partner’s GP does bulk bill all his patients. So to do this just for ongoing prescriptions especially when monitored by a health care plan anyway, would be appreciated. I have also provided my feedback and support for this on Change.org On another note, whilst your receptionists are lovely, I can see that they’re over-loaded with numerous tasks, let alone not being able to have a sip of water or be able to answer the phone at times. Maybe the Practice Manager could come out and help answer some calls. The clinic I once worked at had this help from the PM & it was so helpful during busy times.
Negative experience: Had to wait for an hour after the appointment I booked, really frustrated I have other plans that I had to do when not knowing that an “ an hour wait time” was waiting ahead of me. I would recommend a different doctor than Dr Shanthi.
Negative experience: I called the practice and was waiting for 5 mins to be connected. Someone shortly answered saying" oh, wrong number" and hang up on me. I called again and after 6 mins of waiting and listening to their repeat message about how busy they are, someone answered and the person sounded frustrated that I called. Rude admin staff. Poor customer service.
Negative experience: To spend $80 for an appointment & be in extreme pain in numerous spots then only to be told to “drink more fluids and rest, if it gets worse go to the hospital” is just beyond a JOKE. You doctors need to pull your heads in, as far as i am concerned you should NOT be charging people for appointments if you do not do anything to help. Shame on you.
We can understand that our patients at times feel that medical appointments that do not result in a prescription or scan are sometimes considered as "nothing being done to help".
As doctors, we are constantly weighing up the benefits / harms and needs for intervention or investigation and often careful watchful waiting approach is what is best.
It is much easier for us as doctors to provide an unnecessary prescription or a scan for no reason and we know our patients will leave satisfied and not write 1 star reviews. However, our integrity is higher than this and we will always do what is right for our patients even if it means we say "no" to them for things they feel are right.
The fee at the clinic is a reflection of the cost of providing the service. We are sorry that your government has failed to adequately rebate you for the time taken to see our experienced doctors.
When paying to see someone our doctor team at the clinic, you are paying for their years of experience and training in providing you advice and expertise and risks associated in judging what is the best management for your condition.

Positive experience: This was my first time at this practice, I thought they were quick to attend to my appt considering how many people were waiting in there, plenty of doctors to choose from, my only disappointment is paying the fee just because I don't have a concession card, not all of us have the money all the time to see a doctor, I just find it unfair.
Negative experience: If I could give zero stars I would. The incompetence of some of the doctors at this surgery is honestly beyond belief. My friend is a patient here, having to pay for every appointment even though they do nothing to help her, even prescribing incorrect medications or incorrect dosages. Refused to help her with a mental health plan, although they prescribed her antidepressants. Avoid this clinic at all costs.
Negative experience: Disappointing visit. Felt very rushed. The Doctor spent more time typing than actually listening. My husband has had a persistent cough for more than two weeks post COVID and he was told the cough will go away on its own. He spent over $80 to be told to eat natural foods and “cough will spontaneously disappear on its own”. He is still struggling with a cough, will be seeking medical attention elsewhere.

Negative experience: Quite shocked with this clinic and the care factor they displayed with an older person/the patient. A older person had taken a fall as you come down the slope just after the coles entrance with a trolley, they had just walked out of the clinic Myself & my 7yo witnessed this accident occur. I’ve immediately ran into the clinic & asked for a doctor to come out and help this person. No doctors came out, only to call other patients in. A patient from the clinic who was waiting for an appointment instead helped out this lady. Instead she has been placed back in a wheelchair & wheeled back into the clinic after sometime. If they don’t care if you collapse outside of there clinic, as clearly isn’t not there issue. The amount of staff between doctors & reception is disgusting to watch not one go out and offer any assistance to this older lady.

Negative experience: I had been going to this practice for over 20yrs, NOT any more!!! It was once a great practice yrs ago, but now is the worst!!! The receptionist are the rudest, the Doctors don't care about you, you are just a number. I'm on a Disability Pension and need more back surgery but my treating Doctor that I've been seeing for about 15yrs, because it's too much extra work, that he would NOT be supplying me with my medication and that I would need to find another Doctor for just that medication. Absolutely a total disgrace!!! Don't bother with this practice unless you are desperate!!!

Fantastic experience: I have been seeing Dr Shanthi Kandasamy for 17 years, and we have also seen Dr Henry Dibiamaka and Dr Stefan Unterkofler for our children for the last 10 years. The care of the doctors and the reception staff have always been excellent and I highly recommend this practice.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to this practice for about 18 years or more. Dr Latif has been my GP during this time and is an absolutely wonderful doctor. Caring, thorough and a beautiful personality. I have seen some of the other doctors here in occasion and all are very good and treat you with respect and care. Most of the desk staff are great and the nurse who does care plans is lovely as well. Just like a good old fashioned country medical practice but in the city.

Negative experience: On the 3rd of February I was running late for an appoint. due to unforseen circumstances. Rung 4 times and was hung up on. I attended 20 mins late to be told I would have to reschedule. I then receive the following day a no attendance account would be sent. What a joke this practice is. I will not be paying anything thing as the fault lies with the practice. I will never attend there again and will certainly advise anyone I know not to attend there.

Negative experience: Clinic doesn't bulk bill anymore, which is extremely disappointing. Been going to this clinic for over 14 years so I know how ridiculous wait times are but, it was once worth it because of how good the drs are at this clinic. Receptionist are always a hit or a miss. In my opinion the clinic has gone down hill over the years. Not worth going to anymore unless you have $70 for an appointment and want to wait a long time for your appointment to only feel really rushed once you get in.

Positive experience: Staff are mostly all lovely. Physio, Peter is excellent. Most doctors are ok but clock watchers and now the extra cost for general appointments, is extra financial pressure. $20 out of pocket to just get a repeat prescription (& the doc doesn’t know how to send to phone!) Or like this scenario of me needing a referral for a X-ray/ ultrasound is $20 out of pocket, then follow up appointment is $20 out of pocket. A day off work lost and another $20 to follow up and get a script for said injury. $60 all up for one issue is excessive! Would’ve been bulked billed at ER! Follow ups and repeat prescriptions should be bulk billed!

Negative experience: Honestly not great. I went in with questions about my pregnancy and was told things I already knew.. like being pregnant . They didn’t give me any information I felt quite pressured to get an abortion and she asked me to come back in a weeks time to get contraception.. which felt like she wanted me to abort. Then she referred me to somewhere else, I felt rushed and upset.

Countless times I've waited for hours over my paid appointment with the Dr. I'm sorry but if your employees can't ring on time, better yet with no heads up message from your receptionist staff you have there, I'm not paying to see the Dr. You's have gone down hill very quickly with the new updates, not to mention the incorrect fillings of my appointments. The broken app that doesn't give you all the information needed, but are happy to still charge me for my appointments. Heck I'm still waiting on my sick note from 12pm this afternoon.... nearly 7 hours late and still counting..... Absolute joke

We just wanted to clarify that we do still bulk bill concession card holders, except on weekends. Like many small business we have had to make these changes to our billing structure in order to be able to continue to provide services to our local community. We are sorry that you feel unable to continue to visit our practice and wish you all the best.
Negative experience: The doctor barely understood English. I had to repeat myself multiple times on things as simple as the word ‘vomiting’. She also forgot what I had told her two or three questions ago such as ‘are you on any medication’. And to top it off she refused to refer me until I had transferred all my records from previous doctors to her including demanding some, without explanation of why they were important, that seemed wholly unrelated to my request. I recommend finding a different clinic, certainly don’t fork out a gap for this one.

Negative experience: Arrived at 8.45 for a 9.00 appointment, front door locked. Reason given we are short staffed, stupid decision. This makes more work for an already overworked reception as they have to keep getting up to let patients in, and even more frustration for patients. Customer service is certainly going downhill as reception staff are always changing. If only Dr Leng consulted somewhere else.
We are sorry your experience in our practice was not a favourable one. We, like many small businesses have been affected by staff shortages during Covid, particularly in the last three months. The door is occasionally locked so that we can still ensure everyone entering the practice is well and wearing masks correctly, thus providing a safe environment for our staff and patients.
Fantastic experience: I can only speak about my experiences with my present practitioner, Dr. Henry. In my opinion, he's the best doctor there. Kind, compassionate and professional. The receptionists have always been friendly and helpful. The fact the practice still bulk bills is a HUGE plus. I must confess that the Checkpoint Charlie set up to confirm your appointment appearance is quite disconcerting.
