Fantastic experience: We have been seeing Dr Mahoney and the team at Full Face Orthodontics for the last 4 years for our (now) 8 and 10 year olds (who have very different orthodontic needs). We have been very happy with the experience for both children, including initial consultation, diagnosis, treatment and post-treatment follow up. Dr Mahoney is extremely professional and has a wealth of experience, which is supported by technology as appropriate. The practice is also supported by a number of ancillary service providers, including speech pathologists and oral surgeon, to provide a holistic experience. We highly recommend Dr Mahoney and the team Full Face Orthodontics.

Negative experience: The most awful experience provided by a health care practitioner in the Sydney area. Dr Mahoney is very arrogant in his approach and he charges exorbitant prices. Have since gone elsewhere and received proficient healthcare and for 60% less. Be wary of this doctor.

Negative experience: Horrible owner. Maloney is a money stealer and will over charge you and provide no accountability. Even tells his employees to avoid phone calls from people. Has dodgy workers working for him who don't pay their staff. AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Negative experience: Worst experience at an orthodontist ever. This is by far the most expensive orthodontist we have every come across. After traveling the world for our work we have been to a few practices from Shanghai to Vancouver and now in Sydney. We spent close to $1000 just for consultations and imaging just to be told by Dr. Mahony that we should just wait until we get back to Vancouver to continue orthodontic treatment. This place is money first, patient/child second and you feel it right when you step in the door. Money aside, I would never trust Dr. Mahony with my children's care. *To add on, Dr. Mahony knew we were only in Sydney for a limited time and he created a treatment plan for my daughter knowing this. It was only once we had paid the excessive consultation fees and imaging fees, that he decided (over email) that it wasn't worth his time to treat my daughter. Ethical would have been to state from the beginning that he wasn't going to treat her BEFORE taking our money. Regardless, after dealing with this practice and seeing how it's all about the business and the patient is secondary, I would NEVER send my daughter back there.

Negative experience: I rang for help as my daughter had run out of orthodontic bands, the receptionist was unhelpful, rude and refused to help, when I asked to speak to the manager she said there was no manager for another week and there was noone else there for the whole day. Dreadful customer service!

Negative experience: I am in shock. I am editing this review to share that due to the 1 star rating I left for this dentistry I have now received a Cease and Desist letter from their lawyers! My review did not even contain any words, just a low star rating.This is deeply concerning, people should not be silenced for leaving low star ratings when they have had a negative experiences, people deserve to know what kind of dentistry they are signing up for. Deeply upsetting and disappointing.

Each step of this journey was clearly explained and the latest technology and equipment was used. Dr Mahoney was spot on in suggesting early intervention as the teeth and jaw were developing. Negative experience: Will try and drain you for every cent you have. Completely inhospitable. I went to this dentist for 7 years, spent thousands of dollars and still my teeth have not been fixed. Oh and don't ever expect to actually be treated by Dr Mahony because I saw him about 3 times for a collective 10 mins max in 7 years. Appointments have to be made weeks in advance. My friends son lost his plate at school camp right after he got his braces off after years of treatment, she tried to book in an appointment ASAP but was told she couldn't get one for weeks, her sons teeth completely moved again by the time she actually got an appointment, thousands of dollars wasted and they didn't care one bit. They are all about the money and will continuously try and stretch out treatment. Please do not waste your time or money.

Negative experience: I was referred to Dr. Mahony from my local dentist because he has taught many other dentists so the Dr. Mahony brand is very strong. Throughout the process, I did not like the way I was treated: very short and quick attention from Dr. Mahony, staff was not compassionate and very transactional, I felt like I was dealt with in a very industrial assembly way to get moving along for many other patients and was not heard thoroughly. When I asked questions on the treatment plan, the cost and was not answered satisfactorily because it was not him who answered these questions and the staff answered to quickly. Dr. Mahony is liked a CEO and you can only reach the secretary who will not let you take his time. So it caused a very unsettling feeling and insecurity about the decision to go head with his treatment plan, which is a jaw surgery by another doctor followed by orthodontic braces. I ended up not going ahead with the plan and went for another doctor who detailed 4 treatment options in a thorough report, with pros and cons and advised me to go with braces first because my case not that severe, then review the results before deciding to do surgery. Her brand name is not that strong compared to Dr. Mahony but I felt assured as she looked at my case carefully and spent time answering all my questions and ask me many questions as well. I can’t comment on Dr. Mahony’s knowledge and skills, I guess he is great and approached it holistically. But there are many equally excellent dentists out there too, and I chose the one that gives me assurance, attention and peace of mind, because orthodontic treatment is long and I don’t want to spend the coming 1.5 – 2 years feeling underwhelmed like the first few times I interacted with the team at Full Face Orthodontist. A word to the team and Dr. Mahony: I understand that when you scale up and build a bigger practice to serve more patients, you need to focus on productivity and efficiency. But patient sympathy is important too. Please don't make the patients feel they have to fight for your attention. You may recruit other dentists under the same practice, I would not mind if I receive thorough attention. And the front staff they have to move people quickly so they end up brushing people off by answering swiftly without much care. On average patients pay $10K or even $30-40K with surgery for these treatments and we deserve to be treated with more care, time and attention than that.

Referrals are provided to other specialists pre treatment (if required) to ensure the best outcome post treatment. The team of experienced orthodontists and support staff have been nothing but fantastic. My daughter and I are extremely happy with the results and could not recommend Dr Mahony and the team at Full Face Orthodontics more highly.

Fantastic experience: When I started out with Full Face Orthodontics straight away I felt confident of results and well, after 2 1/2 Years my teeth are straight and pretty well near perfect. Dr Mahoney and his brilliant sidekicks are fabulous. I would fully recommend FFO. I am also a mature age patient. Negative experience: I had my brace at Dr Mahony's back in around 2014 and the procedure completed around 2017. During the three years period, I have only seen Dr Mahony 4 times max. the rest of the time were dealing directly with other stuff in his clinics. It made it really hard to discuss my concerns throughout the treatment period. I was always told that I would see Dr Mahony next month so that I could directly discuss my concern with him, but the appointments with Mahony were always pushed back due to his busy schedule. Most importantly and for me personally, the result is not good and far below expectation/satisfaction. I would have been better off without the treatment and certainly regret doing it(which i paid more than 8K upfront and costed me more than three years). After the treatment my teeth (and month) looked more protruded from outside, it is just not a nice thing. I have been thinking about getting braces again so that I could be looked like what i was before my treatment with Full Face Orthodontics.

Fantastic experience: My daughters teeth are amazing, after sticking to Doctor Mahoney's plan the results are astounding. His plan & vision were set out very clearly, and stayed on track. The plan included no extraction, just retainers and braces, which is what appealed to us. Payment plans are available, and that side of things was made very easy. Even now she's finished with her braces, we have ongoing support and an annual check to ensure the teeth haven't moved. I would recommend Full Face & Dr Mahoney without hesitation.

Fantastic experience: So, Full Face Orthodontics East/Randwick provides an incredibly amazing experience and guarantees the results you want with your teeth as long as you place an effort too. My personal experience as a patient was very well organized by Full Face Orthodontics and they provided satisfying results whilst constantly expressing friendly and caring services to their patients. My teeth were crowded both on my upper and lower teeth but the braces they applied were extremely effective and barely caused pain which was mainly my fears when it came to having braces. Each appointment I attended was precisely on time with the appointment time they gave me and they were lenient enough to wait 5 minutes if I was ever late. This shows their extremely organized services and how time managed they are behind the scenes. However if you are too late or perhaps you may not look after your teeth as much as they recommend you do, you will only extend your time as a patient. Successful Orthodontics requires both Doctor and Patient to cooperate hence it would be advised to not attend too late or be careless with your retainer. This is advised as you would not only extend your time as a patient but you will pay more expenses. Regarding expenses the results, service and products provided by Full Face Orthodontics East is absolutely worth it providing fast results within 1-2 years on average. The practice they are located in is very modern and attractive, to younger patients they provide entertainment if waiting in the waiting room. Their reception is extremely helpful and their phone services are highly efficient. Dr Derek Mahoney is an extremely organized doctor and a very friendly one too! Overall, I highly recommend Full Face Orthodontics East to all.
