Negative experience: Let me tell you he'll give you a consultation charge you for it and then refer you to his colleague for specialist treatment in Albion Park, conveniently under his name of his business. Thinking the worst, attend specialist appointment, only to realise you've been done over for something but you don't need it you're able to determine when the specialist appears have no idea what they actually specialising describe the type of treatment that actually required. Don't walk run away from this place as fast as you can

The open plan surgery is immaculate, well-lit and cozy, creating a comfortable experience for patients. You can see the ingenuity in the organisation and design of this work space. In conclusion, meeting Dr. Youssefinia and her FFO staff was truly life-changing. I have felt “invisible” my whole life and now look like a Bollywood A-list celebrity each time I smile. Dr Youssefinia should really be called Dr You-so-fine!

The staff is incredibly friendly, and Dr. Sara Youssefinnia's expertise has truly transformed my life. Under her care, I underwent Maxillary Skeletal Expansion (MSE) treatment, which has had remarkable results. Thanks to Dr. Sara, I no longer suffer from sleep apnea, and my nasal breathing has significantly improved. Not only has my athletic performance improved, but my overall quality of life has been positively impacted as well. Additionally, the MSE treatment has enhanced the aesthetic appeal of my smile, giving me newfound confidence. Dr. Sara's dedication to her patients is unmatched. Despite encountering initial challenges due to my dense bone structure, she went above and beyond to ensure the success of my treatment. She personally removed and re-installed a second MSE appliance, a level of commitment I never expected. This level of service is truly exceptional and speaks volumes about her dedication to her patients' well-being. My experience in the operating room was also excellent. Dr. Sara and her team performed flawlessly, and I experienced no discomfort during the procedure, even though I'm typically sensitive to needles. While I did experience some minor post-procedural pain once the anesthesia wore off, it was easily managed with over-the-counter pain relief and rest. In summary, my journey with FFO and Dr. Sara Youssefinnia has been nothing short of exceptional. I wholeheartedly recommend their services to anyone seeking high-quality orthodontic care.

Negative experience: I am very upset when I came for my appointment it was supposed to be a 10-30 minute teeth/gum inspection, turns out it was full on bracers implant which will take 1 hour. Worse, I had my appointment then cancelled on the spot and had to reschedule over to the next month. (While I was speaking to the doctor) This is very unprofessional and unethical, I am an hours drive away with my dad who is in his late 60s and we came for no reason and left right after 5 minutes when they tried to cover up their mistakes. Please fix this!

The nurse and doctor were so incredibly sweet and comforting and they did an exceptional job I felt no pain in the process of putting it on or after...I seriously recommend this place so much !!!

Fantastic experience: Due to traffic I was 10 minutes late, the staff were beyond polite and professional, I was seen almost immediately. My adjustment was done with precision and diligence. What else can I say, every time I attend Dr Mahoney's practice, the staff are switched on, professional and polite.

Positive experience: Nice staff. Good treatment, my teeth are great. I would like to just give little suggestions on how you guys can improve without me getting threatened that I’ll get sued for defamation, even though my last review was very honest and not damaging. What was more damaging was the way the lady spoke to me on the phone, disappointing. You will pay for what you get, your treatment is very well explained and most staff are very nice. After seeing a different orthodontist for my siblings’ teeth, I realised there are little things they could do better. They can manage their appointments better so people don’t have to always wait so long before seeing someone, checking up after 6 months from getting braces removed (and not forgetting ;( but its fine I can’t come back, I moved states). It’s the little things like giving your patients their teeth impressions so that they could later use it if they need a new retainer and most IMPORTANTLY having the same professional check your teeth EVERY appointment so you guys don’t have to ask us what was done previously... But I am very thankful for my treatment and I would like to say thank you for your help and for giving me a smile to be proud of! I hope you work on yourselves to only become better! :)

Fantastic experience: SO happy with the results for my 17 yr old son. It's about more than the aesthetics of straight teeth, it's about the structure of the whole face, as well as functions of breathing and sleeping. My son's smile is bigger and his face is more full, his jaw line stronger. The MSE has been removed and only a little longer on the aligners. Wish I'd known about this approach sooner, I would have started my son much sooner. Younger is better.

Negative experience: Not so affordable. I recently called up to arrange an appointment for my 15yr old son for a full set of metal braces and they gave us a ball park figure between $15 to $20k. It pays to shop around.

Fantastic experience: Today we had our first visit with Dr Andrea. An absolute angel with my daughter who’s not great at going to dentists at the best of times. She listened to her concerns and cue's of when to give her a break. She was patient, empathetic and very understanding and gave my daughter a wonderful first visit putting on her braces. Fantastic experience: I can’t recommend Dr Derek Mahoney, Dr Sara Youssefinia, their nurses, Kelly and all the team highly enough. They’ve looked after 3 family members now, achieving fantastic results in a very caring and professional way. I specifically like the proactive way the team widens the jaw to anticipate and save teeth, rather than waiting til teenage years and pulling out teeth.

Negative experience: I would give zero if I could. Although I only had a short and rushed 10-minute initial consultation. The shadow of that experience still stays with me even after months. I originally found Derek Mahony for his reputation in orthodontics and very much looked forward to have a decent consultation with him. This review is about the service that I received which can be labelled as 1: lack of professionalism 2. lack of transparency in cost disclosure. My experience with the receptionist/coordinator was poor, from the beginning I walked into the practice until the time they gave me a quote. The staff there were arrogant and lack basic professional communication and human empathy. Paid for $240 for a 10-minute consultation like a waste. There was no prior disclosure about the scope of the consultation and what it entailed. For other orthodontists, you would normally receive a full diagnosis and propsed treatment plan after the initial consultation. But for this practice, expect nothing but a stream of belitting behaviour and disappointment. I was ready to take X-ray and complete necessary process to enable Derek to conduct a diagnosis (with the expectation to pay additional - but that's not the issue). Nothing couldn't be done so couldn't get any proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Would have been nice if the nature and scope of the consultation could be conveyed prior to the consultation. If no diagnosis could be performed, what is the utility of having a consultation? During the short consultation, I felt being rushed through. Derek showed images about my malocclusion type and his success cases, which it felt like he had done a thousand times before. I would have expected more than just pictures showing for the price I paid for (and the short amount of time). The proposed appointment times were a few months away which made the initial consultation very obsolete and unproductive. It also showed utterly disingenuous effort to respect patients' rights and time. Further, when asked a basic question, he appeared offensive and responded quite agressively as if a patient should just follow instructions to proceed. When I expressed my disappointment at the end of the service, Derek was dismissive and defensive, and his coordinator (Leah) was eye-rolling all the time. Felt very belittled throughout the process. They didn't seem to be open to listen to patients. The whole experience left me crying in tears when I left the practice. When I called to give feedback/ complaint, I was told the Practice Mangar would contact me shortly. Well, it's been months. Not even a single call or text or email. I have since been to other orthodontists, my experience with Derek and his team was definitely the most peculiar and soul-damaging, and the service fell short of professional standards expected of a health professional.

Negative experience: Dr Derek Mahony is a capable and experienced orthodontist, but unfortunately he surrounds himself with a team which doesn't lift to his standard. After we had seen Dr Mahoney at his Harris Park office, and he clearly understood the required treatment, his office manager provided us with an estimated cost. Unfortunately, we did not receive anything in writing. After we attended further appointments, obtained X-rays, tooth pictures, and accruing additional expenses, they provided you with the final treatment cost, which is much higher than the verbal cost we have received. We have already spent a lot of money and were reluctant to go to a different specialist to obtain an alternative quotation. As this is not their first time doing such a treatment, we expected the final cost to be close to the estimate. The final price might be slightly higher, but not double. When I called the office, they denied providing us with a lower cost. The entire team is arrogant and doesn't even consider that you could obtain an alternative opinion, "take it or leave it". When we decided to go to a different Orthodontist and asked Full Face for my daughter's X-ray, they started with all kinds of delay tactics and excuses. We had to follow up several times, and in the end, the place next door that took the X-ray was so friendly to send the pictures to us. I can only imagen what kind of trouble and surprises we would have with Full Face Orthodontics during a long treatment. Now we have found an Orthodontist who provided the final cost after the first appointment, even without the X-ray, without any surprise. I realised this is Full Face Orthodontics' sneaky way of looking people into an overpriced treatment. Do yourself a favour and stay away from this unethical place.
