Fantastic experience: I have been going to Westcare Medical for years now and honestly, I wouldn't go anywhere else. From the lovely ladies running the clinic from the reception desk, to the nurses, to the doctors, I haven't received better care. They are welcoming and take your health matters seriously. I've seen Dr Matthews for the past few years now and since having children have recently branched out to Dr Anurathan and Dr Oozageer, would highly recommend all three.

Positive experience: Best care. Been a patient at this Clinic for roughly 15yrs. Always great GPs, Nursing Staff and Receptionist. It's like a mini hospital, the government should invest money into these clinics that assist with Urgent treatment and care. Unlike the Urgent Care one's by the Victorian government. Loyal to their long term patients with Chronic Health issues.

Fantastic experience: I had my Influenza and 7th covid 19 Vaccine at Westcare Family Medical Centre this morning. The staff were very caring and thorough, as usual. Thank you and Good job everyone!

Fantastic experience: My gout flared up with the rage of a thousand suns in my big toe, and as everyone is aware, getting an on the spot appointment in Melton is absolutely impossible. Thankfully for me and my predicament the young lady behind the phone could hear the pain and distress in my voice and actually arranged an appointment with their triage nurse within a couple hours of my phone call. Everyone there knew the pain i was in and were extremely accommodating to my needs. Thanks a million again guy's for getting me back on my foot ❤️

Fantastic experience: I mainly go here to get my flu shots and other vaccines if I need them and everytime the Staff have been very helpful and polite the wait area was very open and airy with loads of comfy seats and there is plenty of car parks out the front and there are a few disability spots too very close to the main entry .

Fantastic experience: My family have been coming here for over 30 years have never had any issues. Dr Jacobs is by far and away the best Dr in Melton. Yes it's disappointing that they no longer bulk bill, but you can blame the Australian Government for that for not increasing the rate of payment for Drs who bulk bill. I for one would never go anywhere else.

Positive experience: They have good Drs and nurses but the drawback is they do NOT Bulk bill

Fantastic experience: When I call, I'm greeted by a Friendly Receptionist who is understanding, We need to appreciate the demands on busy doctors' schedules. If your doctor is l will see the doctor on that day or you can be offered a on call doctor.

Fantastic experience: I like this medical center. The doctors actually want to sit with you and discuss your issues, you're only paying a little bit more than your "free" clinics, as most want a gap fee paid anyway and you aren't being rushed out the door. Medical care isn't cheap unfortunately but I'd rather pay the extra and get actual care.

Fantastic experience: Today I attended the clinic and saw my regular doctor post discharge from a major Melbourne Hospital on Monday which was recommended. Dr. Matthews was unaware of what had been occurring since I last saw her in June post a fall with a head injury. She at this time followed up with request for a specialist review due to some unusual findings from scans performed post fall. I was able to update her on what had occurred since this time as despite being assured by the specialist and his team, no one had given her any updates. She was able to provide me reassurance that acting quickly was the best possible outcome that could have occured. I have great faith in her abilities to obtain the very best outcome for her patients. I have been a patient at West are for many years and have no intention of changing clinics ever!!! When you get the best care possible WHY would you go elsewhere??

Negative experience: My ex partner came home from work with bad chest pains. Westcare was the only centre opened that early in Melton I knew of, so I rang them to try and get an urgent appointment. They REFUSED to see him as he wasn’t a regular patient of theirs. Absolutely sickening not to mention disgusting and negligent!!! I cannot even comprehend how a medical clinic could think it is OK to turn someone away with bad chest pains just because they don’t regularly go there, which is actually due to THEM not taking on anymore patients! If he would’ve died or had other complications as a result of them refusing to see him, god help you all! You should be closed down, and imprisoned for neglecting your duty of care to the melton community!

Fantastic experience: Tina Shattock is a wonderful Doctor, I have been seeing her for over 10 years, she always gets to the bottom of your problems and takes positive actions to remedy/cure them, she is a real asset to the Centre, I am so glad she is my Doctor. Today I also saw Denise a nurse at the Centre, she is always cheerful and helpful makes a visit a good experience. The reception staff are also excellent and care about you, all are a credit to the Centre

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient at Westcare for years. More than 15. Dr Tina Shattock is my doctor. To say I 'love' her is true. Why do I say this? Well, she is thorough ... compassionate ... never leaves a stone unturned. When I walk into her room, feeling sad and sorry for myself with whatever ails me, I walk out feeling 'better' (before I even begin any meds she may prescribe). Negative experience: Doctor shattock is amazing at what she does. Unfortunately the management is subpar. After an incident where another doctor put my childs safety and health at risk management handled it terribly and we were left feeling let down.

Fantastic experience: Needed an urgent appointment as I was in extreme pain and was offered an appointment with the nurse practitioner as no GPS were available. Before I new it the reception staff were calling back offering a GP appt due to a cancellation. Thanks so much as I saw Dr Anurathan who was so caring and professional in her assessment and approach to my situation. Most clinics in the Melton area offer very little if there are no available appts, so you suffer on for days until you can be seen. I was happy to see the nurse practitioner, it's better than nothing, but I was lucky enough to see a great GP. Thanks to the admin women also who are smart enough to care and help you out. Positive experience: The staff members are very friendly and helpful The only disappointment is that we have lost 5 GPS including Dr. Green which was my GP since February last year he was helpful with my pain management on waiting hip surgery Nov last year sad too see him go

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient with WestCare for many years now (1998?). Dr. Graham JACOBS literally saved my wife’s life a number of years ago because of his persistence and accurate and timely referrals. Dr JACOBS provided me with the optimal quality of life through accurate diagnosis and treatment over many years. The staff there have always been caring, professional and polite. I travel a significant distance for each appointment at WestCare because I have not experienced a better standard of healthcare service elsewhere.

Positive experience: Dr Hayden green is brilliant. Shame we are losing him whilst he further his studies. Other concerns now as current drs left have closed their books. Now waiting for new dr to arrive in coming months. I have been a patient with Westcare for over 38 years and have never seen it so bad in keeping drs and getting appointments

Fantastic experience: Very pleasant staff particularly front reception, Kerry is especially friendly and goes out of her way to help everyone, whether it’s directions to Melton Health or making appointments she makes everyone feel like they are her top priority. Usual wait for a GP but they always apologise and I never feel like I’m being rushed so they can get to the next person. We are very lucky to be able to have skin checks done here. On the not so good side ( which is more about aesthetics and cleanliness) the floors in the waiting area are pretty grubby and could do with a good scrub as well as the waiting room furniture which is very stained and couches too low to sit on comfortably. Also very sad that so many GP’s are all leaving at the same time. Farewell to Alistair and Graham who have been here from the start - Westcare has been a very high quality clinic and I’m sure it will continue to go well without their presence.

Negative experience: Worst clinic ever. I called in because i saw an appointment available for Dr Vishnu and the business said i cannot get it because i am not an existing patient. Is this even allowed to deny medical care even when an appointment is available or is it too much paper work for admin or they are just careless?? I am not calling in to joke , my child needed medical care and advise. Unethical and shameful. Will not recommend anyone to this center!

Fantastic experience: After 3 Doctors in Melton I ended up going to Westcare. Dr Jo saved my life. She only saw me once and after doing bloods she quickly rushed me to Royal Melbourne Hospital 2 weeks more and I would've been dead..The other doctors thought I had gout in reality my kidneys had failed... Even though I'm on dialysis I'm very grateful to Dr Jo who picked up what was wrong with me. Thank you Westcare You're worth every cent.

Negative experience: I've been visiting this clinic monthly, but my experience with Dr. Sandra has been disappointing. She didn’t examine my wound or address my pain, offering only generic advice that I could have Googled. She even recommended gripe water, which midwives and pediatricians often discourage. Her approach is more reactive than preventative, and I’ve noticed she doesn’t review discharge summaries or previous health records. Patients are left to explain their entire history repeatedly, which is frustrating—especially when being charged for the consultation. I recommend finding a more attentive GP, particularly if you’re pregnant or dealing with wounds.

Fantastic experience: Dr Shivangi is very thorough with my medical conditions always on top of my conditions and is very supportive. All medical staff and receptionists are always pleasant and thorough. All my Covid shots and flu shots are always up to date and all nursing staff and doctors are commended with all their kindness and efforts.

Fantastic experience: I met with Dr Stark for the first time last night. Dr Stark is a wonderful person and doctor who did not rush the consultation. I will certainly continue to see him. I used to attend Westcare Medical Center many years ago and am happy to return.

Reception staff are pretty good too , Only downfall is the fees I was not expecting them to be expensive even though the Medicare rebate is claimed straightaway it’s the gap’ Overall a good centre complete with a pharmacy on the premises !

Negative experience: First time in years ~ many years ~ that a doctor actually did a thorough, physical examination (or for that matter any examination), and not just rely on various test results. Dr Ronnen Leizerovitz was thorough. He listened, investigated and clarified my answers and actually listened. Most impressed. He actually read my file. My experience has been that in the past, that doctors have been too reliant on computerised testing, using technology too much, instead of using their training and 'gut feeling' and intuition. Technology is OK to a point but in my experience, why do I still feel like crap after all the testing and doctors not knowing what to do next and just prescribe more and more pills. One tends to loose heart and confidence. A $90.00+ (I have been charged $120.00) consult fee for no positive outcome or cure is a lot to swallow! My further complaint is the practise of over servicing, eg sending me for a $600 MRI on my sore thumb. I’m guessing that the clinic has general meetings where doctors in the practice are encouraged to “upsell”! Doctors might have those financial resources but all the people I know do not. Do doctors in the clinic have shares in the group of practises in the same location? I think so! I have very little faith or trust in the medical profession and only attend when things get too bad, and you may ask why not go somewhere else!? The answer is that I have, and found my complaints general! However, the doctor I saw today, has restored a little confidence but I reserve my view! Lyne de Heaume

Fantastic experience: Have recently decided to change my regular GP in the medical from another to Dr Ryan O'Rafferty & can't speak highly enough of him. He is extremely thorough & picked up on a serious condition that could have had severe consequence. Ladies in reception and nurses are also very helpful. Thank you all so much ❤️
