Negative experience: The environment is very pleasant, and the staff are friendly. However, I found the pricing quite expensive. I was charged $580 for a tooth cleaning, which they described as a “deep clean” requiring a second session. While I understand the procedure might differ from a standard cleaning, I feel the cost is excessive and that patients should be informed about the pricing and details upfront instead of misleading people that require two sessions.

Fantastic experience: As well as providing skilfully the normal procedures one expects of a dental practice, Mawson Dental Care has the following: good access to a dentist in an emergency, a stable team so that one has the same dentist across appointments, attendance of this dentist at hygiene sessions, a willingness to refer on to a specialist when necessary, - and an hour break in the middle of the day which keeps a refreshed staff alert in the afternoon!

Fantastic experience: I chipped a front tooth just before returning to Canberra from an interstate trip and called ahead of my return to request an urgent appointment. The receptionist at Mawson DC was extremely helpful and was able to provide me with an appointment with one of the Dentist the day after I arrived home. The Dentist was able to quickly and effectively repair the chipped tooth without any anesthetic and achieved a perfect colour match.

I came in with quite a few issues going on and I was honestly rather anxious, especially after my last visit at a different dentist. Dr. Anthony was absolutely incredible, he did absolutely everything necessary and went above and beyond for my dental health, even when he was 100% sure of his diagnosis and what was going on, he still proceeded to get the opinion of his boss, Dr. Honeybone, who agreed with him, they talked me through it and I have never understood anything more clearly. The compassion and care this office shows is completely unmatched, they offer so many ways of payment which I was so grateful for as I am always tight on money, I was missing $15 and they completely sorted it out, I just cried happy tears and I couldn’t stop, I have never felt so heard and cared about by medical professionals like this. One of the most commendable things about them is, if they can’t do something about your issue, they will get someone who can and refer you to them directly, I haven’t had a dentist do that before. These people are absolutely amazing, they are so so kind and compassionate, so easy to get along with and laugh with and so adaptable to whatever issue you throw at them, with absolutely NO judgement. If I could give 100 stars I would, you will not find a better dental office with better care anywhere else, these guys are at the top of their game and it shows. It was recommended to us, and is now treating 3 generations of our family, including my young grandson! The practice has evolved over the years, and expanded its premises and staff numbers, but has never lost its accessibility for urgent appointments and reliability for preventative care and routine treatment. Staff are collegial and the Dentists share their expertise to benefit patients. Highly recommended, based on 7 family members attending over a 22 year period.

Fantastic experience: I have been a patient of Mawson Dental Care for many years now - probably about 15. It’s a wonderful surgery and I’ve watched it grow and expand. I like the way my appointments with Michelle (dental hygienist) can have the added advantage of my dentist walking in for a quick check. We all know that if there is a problem to see - the hygienist has seen it! The dentist can then plan repairs without another interim appointment. I just wish they had more ‘emergency’ slots - I hate the lottery system of ‘first call answered at a set time gets the slot when there is more than one handset! As my only complaint that’s minor.
