Fantastic experience: I have been going to this medical centre for years. The doctors and nurses here are lovely. They also have good procedures in place. However, it is a busy place and you may have to wait a long time, even when you have an appointment booked.

Fantastic experience: Reception staff are always considerate & friendly. Over the years I’ve been a patron the doctors I’ve seen have always been efficient and thoughtful. On the occasions when I’ve had vaccines the nurses are sympathetic and gentle.

Fantastic experience: I have no issues at all. Was seen within minutes if my allocated time with Dr Ghoochani and the nurses. Not rushed with the appointment at all. I unfortunately have discovered that I'm not fully covered by bulk billing as I've been in the past as a pensioner, but this is a government issue where the public is not notified of changes in Medicare cover. I'm very happy

Negative experience: No longer bulk billing. Horribly rude reception and doctors. Booked through hot docs and had no notification that they had changed to no longer bulk bill. Was told when I got there and told to book a different doctor on a different day when the appointment was book for urgent medication needs. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Hi Emily, You were informed of the fees for Dr Jing Rao before you even arrived for the appointment, as you booked online on 14/6/25, you clicked “I have read and agree” to the following booking terms: “3/2/25 Dr Rao now charges a gap fee of $20-40. Children under 16 and pensioners still bulk billed. Please keep in mind that a $50 fee will be charged if patients provide less than 2 hours notice to cancel an appointment or do not attend their appointment.” I find your comment about our staff being “horribly rude” unfair, as our reception team member recalled having a very calm and respectful conversation with you, clarifying our policies and directing you to the booking terms on HotDoc that you agreed to. We understand you are now aware of the billing policy and ask that you find a new practice to attend if you cannot respect our doctors, staff or practice policies. Negative experience: I was very disappointed with my experience here. The clinic seems more focused on making money than providing quality care. I felt completely rushed during my appointment—there was no opportunity to explain my full situation, and the doctor appeared more concerned with getting through as many patients as possible before finishing for the day. The $105 fee for new patients or those who haven't visited in over a year (plus an extra fee on Sundays) is completely ridiculous, especially for such a rushed, unhelpful consultation. The receptionist was also dismissive and in a hurry. This clinic used to be much better before they moved away from full bulk billing and introduced private fees.

Dear Stephanie, Sadly this has been a result of poor federal government rebates for over a decade that has led to us needing to charge an out of pocket fee on Sunday. To remain viable we have no choice but to privately charge for all GP consultations on Sundays to cover these rising operational costs. I notice due to your complaint on the day, you were not charged any out of pocket fee and were kindly bulk billed by our GP.

Fantastic experience: I would like to pay a special tribute to Dr Sohael from the Fountain Medical Centre. He is a dedicated General Practitioner who has always been very caring of me as his patient. His ability to converse with me over time, gives you a real sense of his commitment to his vocation. He is not just a clinical physician but a human being who listens. He has empathy. This does not detract from his diligence and astute analytical mind, which inspires confidence when he is working with you to resolve any of the medical issues that I have presented with. He is a doctor who has been an inspiration and a credit to his profession. My doctor is all HEART and "SOHAEL"!!!!

Fantastic experience: I had to wait only a few minutes - even though I had been told it would be about 20 mins - when Dr Perera called me into his room. As it was once again an infected cat bite, he just shook his head (but did not suggest to get rid of the cat, which I would never do) investigated the infection and prescribed antibiotics. It was very nice to hear that when he saw me waiting in the waiting area, he recognised me and postponed his departure for lunch for a while. I can highly recommend the doctors and staff at the Centre.

Negative experience: Charged $80 for a 10 min appointment they were 15 minutes late too because I hadn't been in over 12 months. Booked the appointment in the morning where it said there was a $35-$45 fee if you hadn't been there in 2 years. This was a lie, apparently they changed this (clearly they havent, i booked the appointment around 4 hours before) and it's actually $80 fee and instead of 2 years it was 1 year. While trying to explain this to the manager she walked off because she got a call. I was then left there waiting awkwardly so I just paid and left but I'm incredibly disappointed and had I known I was going to have to pay I would've just found another bulk billing gp instead.

Negative experience: Terrible experience. I arrived with my 16 year old daughter to simply get a repeat script. The receptionist told me that she would not bulk bill as it was a Saturday but would claim the Medicare benefit for me. I accepted this. Then she asks for my name and date of birth as she says she needs to put the claim through under my name. I questioned her and said “so you are going to pretend the appointment was for me”. She give me a goofy smile and says no! Nothing made sense. She eventually charges me the full fee and says because it is a patient under 17 she is unable to claim the Medicare benefit and I have to do it myself. SO FOR A APPOINTMENT FOR LESS THAT 2 minutes we were charged $70.

Dear Liz, I am sorry you feel it was a terrible experience, however as you came in on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment, it is correct that we do not bulk bill for this service and charge a gap fee of $35-45. You are and were very welcome to make a booked appointment to gain access to our bulk billing as our policy on fees states. Due to rising operational costs and minimal Medicare rebate increases by the Federal government over the last 10 years, our practice team made the decision mid-2024 to privately charge walk in patients of all ages, and you were made aware of this prior to your daughter's consultation by our reception staff (the information is also on our website- https://www.hornsbymc.com.au/policiesfees and we have a sign on the reception counter). You paid $70 for the consult (level A, after hours) of which you can claim a Medicare rebate of $33 (therefore the out-of-pocket gap fee is $37). For patients 16yo and under Medicare does not allow the claim to be processed by a GP unless it is under one parent's name as "head of family". This is not our rule but Medicare's. I am sorry you were confused by the receptionist's explanation; she was only trying to help process your claim by asking for your name & DOB. She wasn't pretending the appointment was for you. Ultimately after you questioned her, she thought you didn't want her to add you as head of family, so you paid the fee, and she gave you the receipt to claim the Medicare rebate yourself which is very easy under the Medicare or MyGov app. I hope this explanation helps you understand our fees and processes. Fantastic experience: I walked in and was seen very quickly. The reception staff was a young man, very polite, professional and helpful. I was my lucky day, I was seen by Dr. Jayashree Bindiganavale. She is professional and through and attended to my problem with the knowledge of a very good Doctor. I’ve finally found the Doctor I want to continue to see and I know I will trust her advice. She was a great find as of recent I have seen 4 different Doctors and have not felt confident with any of them.

Fantastic experience: Reception staff always as friendly and helpful as possible, even when faced with difficult patients or busy periods. The drs are always accommodating and patient, and I am happy to call this medical practice my families go to for all our medical needs, even pathology as well as nursing to try minimise trips to hospital if we can with little bubbas.

Negative experience: Doctor here are nice but management is really disappointing. They cancelled appointment without notifying me. The receptionist insisted they have messaged me but I did not get any notification. And even when I left the clinic my Hotdoc account is still showing appointment confirmed. They charge patients $50 for late cancellation fee, but they did not offer me any compensation when they cancel last minute.

Fantastic experience: Amazing. Early Sunday afternoon I got straight in with Dr Perera with a gastric infection. Not only was he incredibly kind but he set me up with a litre of IV fluid on the spot. This rapid action significantly assisted my recovery and his actions were very well regarded when I was later admitted to Hornsby Hospital. Hornsby has so few after-hours doctors and it was a total relief to find the one that was open was just so good. You would have no hesitation in using this surgery - professional, helpful and very kind.

Negative experience: I had an appointment with Dr Daniel Morgan and truly felt rushed, I felt uncomfortable to ask more questions as he just wanted to finish the appointment, so I will have to see another GP. In general I felt like he does not really care about his patients. Also they charged me for long consultation and when I asked why she said it’s doctor’s opinion but it’s usually for appointments more than 15 minutes which mine was minutes!

Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Sohael Rahman for the first time and am absolutely blown away by his attentiveness, kindness, and understanding. Dr Rahman is a shining example of professionalism and quick action when a patient is unwell. I saw him in quiet a lot of distress today and walked out feeling cared for and supported. I even received a follow up call making sure I was doing alright. Negative experience: I had a disappointing remote consultation with Dr. Daniel Morgan. The appointment felt rushed, and I was left feeling like my concerns weren’t taken seriously. It seemed like I was just another number in a queue, and the advice given was not helpful at all. I ended up seeing another doctor shortly after (from a different clinic), who provided a completely different, more thoughtful approach, and their advice was much more effective. While I’ve read positive reviews for Dr. Daniel Morgan in the clinic, my experience with him remotely raised concerns about the quality of care provided to virtual patients. If you're considering a remote consultation, I would suggest being cautious.

Negative experience: Do not waste your time visiting this practice with children. The doctors do not believe in providing antibiotics when your child requires them. On this occasion my young child tested positive with 3 nasty infections that require antibiotics. You will waste time and money and have to go to hospital, just like I did. Extremely neglectful.

Negative experience: Went for an appointment for my 5 year old, who had been having a persistent dry cough. She tested negative for COVID and influenza before our visit. Saw Dr Daniel Morgan. He didn’t really do much. Basically told us to wait it out. Although he was not rude, he kind of seemed eager for us to leave. Really don’t think the service was worth the $80 fee. Also, they made me give my payment details to the third party website HotDocs to confirm the appointment. This seemed unnecessary to me as I had already called to book and paid at the counter there. So why does HotDocs need my info? I’ll probably look for another GP for the future.

Fantastic experience: Dr. Jing Rao is a great GP. She is very very good at skin problems. My baby suffered a lot in on and off terrible eczema with infection for a long time. After her offering my baby amazing treatment, only 3 days, my baby was 95% recovered. Thanks a million, Dr. Jing Rao. I will definitely recommend Dr.Jing Rao to all my friends.

Negative experience: Definitely, not a good experience, and the Doctors aren't that friendly, and not well aware about what treatments they are prescribing, they just see you for couple of minutes, and doesn't even check you well, as they are more business oriented, and try to hold patients for coming back. Also the receptionist is quite rude, and not friendly or welcoming!

Fantastic experience: Been going to this medical centre for years. Dr Sohael Rahman is my doctor, always explains everything well, always gives me good advice & good health suggestions. Keeps you up to date with tests i should complete for my age. And a bonus he sounds like Britain’s Tony Robinson! For skin cancer checks i see Dr Daniel Morgan. He has extensive experience in this field from visiting rural areas, in places like Qld, which as we all know is one of our more sunny states. Blood tests here are easy, the staff member there is pretty good at her job. I’ve had bad experiences at other centres in the past, with up to 6 attempts with the needle. Always finds the vein first time here. There is also a nurse and i’m not sure of her name, she’s worked here for years, always super nice, great with kids, i feel a lot of people come here for her alone. Staff at the front counter are great. They cop a lot of trouble with patients being rude, patients leaving without paying. They must have some supernatural powers to keep calm & cool headed in those situations!

Negative experience: We booked for flu vaccine for my dad who is on private insurance. They charged us 98$ for the reason that it was because of the after hours consultation charges. The receptionist should have let us know that there would be after hour consultation charges at the time of going in. But no they didn't. And the doctor she just comes and asks few questions, not even a temperature check was done for which we had to pay 98$. This is totally unfair. Cost of living is pinching everyone , not just you guys. Please be considerate in your charges and think of the service and the proportion you are charging.

Negative experience: Felt extremely rushed, paid $82 for less than three minutes of time and a referral having exactly 11 words. I was warned of the cost, but more care, effort and time would have been appreciated. Update: Due to this review, they have refused to see me again. Which is extremely unprofessional, don't ask for feedback if you're unwilling to take it on-board.

Fantastic experience: The DENTIST Dr Yan Chen and her assistant are very nice and responsible. They helped me clean my teeth carefully. The dentist also gave me a lot of advice on how to protect my teeth and sent me a dental cleaning kit. Thank them very much!

Fantastic experience: The reception staff were welcoming. As my daughter and I waited, a man entered who didn't speak English. All three receptionists went out of their way to assist him, using tools like Google Translate. Dr. Morgan was also very kind, and it was heartwarming to see him engage respectfully with my 10-year-old patient instead of addressing me directly.

Receptionists are always nice and it is easy to make an appointment, they have all kind of specialists and surgery rooms etc.. Fantastic experience: Wow!!!! What a GREAT first visit and impression. Everyone I encountered smiled at me and made me feel at home. I was even given the card of a GP that the lovely receptionist thought would suit me - and she was right!!! I only went in for a vaccine, but I will return and this medical centre will be my new place as I am fairly new to the area. Thanks for making me feel so safe and welcome. :)

Negative experience: I have just had the most disrespectful experience. I have been coming here for some years. But I will not be returning. I booked a Telehealth appointment (post hip replacement surgery follow up so I couldn’t attend in person). I rang a number of times to see when the doctor would call me. I kept getting the run around. So I eventually confronted the receptionist that explained that I had been deprioritised and that the doctor may get back to me. I am not paraphrasing. Anyway. I now need to find another clinic.

Negative experience: As someone who has been under the care of Hornsby Fountain Medical Centre for over two years, it is with great disappointment that I share my recent and past experiences, marked by a consistent pattern of neglect and unprofessionalism. This feedback is not given lightly but out of a sense of duty to my community and to advocate for those who may find themselves in similar vulnerable positions. On 5th February 2024, amidst a severe panic attack—a symptom of the chronic and complex post-traumatic stress disorder I've managed since childhood—I sought assistance at Hornsby Fountain. This episode was particularly distressing, necessitating an escort by Westfield Hornsby security to the medical centre. The contrast between the security's genuine concern and the reception I received could not have been starker. Upon arrival, despite clearly communicating the severity of my condition, I was met with laughter and indifference from the reception staff. This was not an isolated incident but a recurrence of past neglect, further exacerbating my distress and leaving me with no choice but to seek alternative help. Such experiences starkly undermine the foundational principles of healthcare and pose significant risks to individuals in acute mental health crises. The lack of empathy and urgency displayed could have had dire consequences, exacerbating feelings of isolation and despair in moments of profound vulnerability. I am compelled to highlight the need for immediate, systemic changes within the practice. Front-line staff must receive comprehensive training in mental health awareness, sensitivity, and appropriate emergency response protocols. It is crucial to create an environment where all patients, especially those facing mental health challenges, feel safe, supported, and valued. This review serves as a call to action for Hornsby Fountain Medical Centre to address these critical failures in patient care. I urge the practice to implement rigorous mental health training programs, conduct a thorough review and censure of the staff involved, and make a public commitment to improving the patient experience for those with mental health conditions. I share my story in the hope that it will prompt Hornsby Fountain Medical Centre to reflect, reform, and rededicate itself to providing compassionate care and respect that every individual deserves. My journey now takes me elsewhere for medical care, but it is my sincere hope that no one else will have to endure such neglect and disregard in their time of need. Christopher Tucker

One of us has several conditions that require monitoring and Dr Sohael Rahman has been exceptional in the care he provides. The reception and nursing staff are also very helpful and efficient.

Negative experience: BE CAREFUL! Terrible experience I had visiting this clinic for my daughter last weekend. They booked me at 1.15 pm asking me to pay $78 out of pocket as they dont do medicare bulk billing for this appointment. Fair enough, but as a surprise they asked me to pay $95 upfront as they made it out of hours. However, after waiting for 30 min I was called by the GP around 1.45 pm. As a surprise, GP advised me to take her to another GP! Didn't even ask any question about medical history. Checking temperature with thermometer and checking pulse with oxymetre, is that what we go to GP for! I am NOT visiting this facility again. Don't recommend ..

Negative experience: I have booked an appointment to see a doctor . I waited for more than 1 hour for my booked appointment . The receptionist never even bother before hand to tell me that the doctor is not aware of my booked appointment . I have pro- actively reach out in the counter to ask the girl when is my turn because I waited for too long already . She then told me if that’s ok she can put me in the walk in . This is not really what I want that’s why I booked in the first place . A very unpleasant service .

But it can be a tough job at times, dealing with sick, sad & sometimes, irrational people, along with racial diversity & misunderstandings.
