Fantastic experience: Dr. John is absolutely amazing. My 6 year old needed his two front teeth removed due to ectopic eruption, and she was so careful not to let him know what was happening, by the end of it my son didn't even realise what had happened. Highly recommend

Fantastic experience: I was recommended to this dentist by multiple people and I am so lucky I found Maroondah Dental! I had a wisdom tooth removed and even though I was so nervous about the procedure, the dentist and dental nurse were so lovely and the procedure didn’t hurt at all, not even when the anaesthetic went in. This will definitely be my new dentist and would recommend to anyone!

Fantastic experience: This is the best dentist I’ve been to by far. I’ve had over a decade of dental & orthodontic work which made me terrified of dentists. I went in seeking sleep dentistry however Dr. Mabinse John was so caring & encouraged me to try without. I’m so glad I did, she was so gentle & nurturing. Cannot recommend this clinic & dr. Positive experience: I have had two bad experiences here and now find myself in big trouble as I'm now too scared to see a dentist. Firstly I was told I needed a root canal. On this visit I went through the whole procedure no worries until the end when the dentist told me she couldn't find one root and I will need to go to a specialist. I went to the specialist and he wanted $4000 to Finnish the job and couldn't guarantee it would work. I was unlucky enough to get a temporary dentist because the regular dentists were on holiday the second time and was told again I needed another root canal. After my last experience which I did not go through with I asked if she could just pull it or if it would be a problem. The temporary dentist who looked above 20 years old told me it would not be a problem to pull so I said go ahead. After 45 minutes in the chair and countless injections of anaesthetic and pulling and twisting I began to freek out shaking and perspire uncontrollably with fear and anxiety. I asked how much longer it would be and if the tooth was loose yet and she said no its not moving. I had to leave it there as I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. It wasn't until I got home and the anaesthetic war off that I found she had cracked the tooth in half with the pulling and twisting. I now have two teeth that need to be removed and no idea how to get it done as I'm now petrified of the dentist. The only positive is they were all very nice people and didn't charge very much. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Just adding that I was contacted after posting this review and they did not know about the 2nd experience I had with the temporary dentist. I must say I am very impressed with the lengths they are going to, to try and help me and get me back in the chair and to over come my new fear. For this I have increased my review rating. Like I said the first time very nice people....

Being that this is our first negative feedback, we were obviously shocked at this as we aim for honest, affordable & comfortable dentistry combined with the best treatment outcome for the patient . This is why Our Senior Dentist contacted you straightaway and happy to hear that you are coming back to rectify the issues !
You first presented to the clinic complaining of pain from a tooth which was filled by a dentist from another clinic and you were given the options either to remove or to keep the tooth by a Root Canal treatment.
At that time you picked the Root Canal option and the dentist got you out of pain. During that she realised that one of the roots cannot be found because of the previous deep filling from the other clinic , and in those instances , any dentist would / should refer to the Root Canal Specialist (Endodontist). This was all done without any charge to you because we didn't want you to spend money on the same tooth at 2 different clinics. So Honestly that would be the best thing we could do in that situation.
The Second case you mentioned is very unfortunate and we sincerely apologise for the same. The associate dentist who took over when we were away is an experienced dentist and she is quite well liked by her patients. She is also good at her clinical skills and we never received a negative comment about her work. We enquired in detail about what happened and realised that she tried few times to numb that particular tooth and seeing that it was not achievable that day , she referred you to an Oral Surgeon as you requested the tooth to be removed under General Anesthesia. The tooth not going numb could happen in a couple of clinical scenarios.
It's so unfortunate that you had couple of unsatisfactory experiences from our clinic.

Fantastic experience: I attended Maroondah Dental care on Friday with a broken front tooth. The receptionist was very helpful and found an appointment the same day for me. I get very anxious at the dentist. Dr Mabinse was lovely and very gentle. Great service and reasonably priced. Highly recommend.
Fantastic experience: I attended this practice with my husband as he has dental anxiety. We traveled about 45 minutes to this dental practice and it was well worth it. At first impression I was very impressed with the great lighting, individual dental chair rooms and flat screen TV's. The place was definitely well planned out. The look is modern and very clean. The receptionist was very nice and polite and was very helpful. The dentist had great patient care and always made sure my husband was comfortable and that he wasn't in pain. We will definitely be going back.
