Your New Dentist

Negative experience: Edit: Apparently, if you leave a negative review, Monica will take it upon herself to look up your information and call you at night and outside of work hours just to question you. Claims to take anxiety seriously and make people as relaxed and comfortable as possible while rebuilding trust... As a neurodivergent adult with severe needle phobia, the moment that I needed to do what I know is best for me to help me through that fear (something that no other person in the medical profession has had an issue with), I was met with it being too childish, and Monica commenting, "We are all adults here!" Way to go, Monica; I wasted my money and lost even more trust and faith. Thankfully, I found a very amazing dentist who actually showed care and understanding for my struggles.

Fantastic experience: Monica and her team were fantastic. I was nervous going in with my broken tooth. Monica explained everything, was so efficient and gentle, checking in with me often to make sure I was ok.

Negative experience: Do not recommend if you have a special needs child or teen. Use of emotive language like extreme risk and shaming for lack of hygiene is not the way to build a positive dental relationship. We fortunately found a lovely paediatric dentist in Mt Waverley who is exceptionally kind and understanding. We did find the reception staff lovely and kind but Monica was not. Disappointing experience!

Fantastic experience: Really good with young children. My son was scared to go to the dentist - now he wants to go back.

Fantastic experience: I recently visited Your New Dentist and I was extremely happy with their service. Right from my initial phone enquiry through to walking out the door with a big smile on my face, they were friendly, helpful and professional. I am currently pregnant and on the day of my appointment I had received some news about my baby that was a little worrisome for me, needless to say, the last place I wanted to go that afternoon was to the dentist. The ladies talked me through everything they were doing with such a cheerful, gentle and thorough approach that I felt completely relaxed and comfortable in their care. I left my appointment feeling much happier than when I arrived AND my teeth were fixed! And even though they had given me detailed information on how to deal with any pain I might experience, I did not have any pain the following day at all. They certainly are My New Dentist and I have already recommended them to my Mum.

Fantastic experience: I have been terrified of the dentist for 15 years. Monica and all the staff are absolutely terrific with everything. Everything is explained step by step, breaks are taken every few minutes to help you relax and they’ll even let someone sit inside with you if you need it. They are amazing at what they do and I’d recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Brooke enough for her kindness today. She went above and beyond to get me seen when I was in excruciating pain and had been turned away everywhere else I'd tried. Everyone made me feel so comfortable and at ease and I'm someone who dreads going to the dentist. Highly recommend!

Negative experience: I went to this dentist for 3 visits and spent more money than i did at Michael in chirnside park and got less work done than in the 1 visit. This dentist is your typical car salesman. They dont listen to what you want and tell you what you want and charge you a fortune for nothing. My girlfriend spent over a grand on veneres and they wouldnt do the colour she wanted because they new best. Only for her to have to get them redone because she wasnt happy with the colour.if you have plenty of money and time these guys are the ones you want. If you want someone thats good at there job and cost efficient go else were. I recommend Michael next to xhorside park shopping centre

Fantastic experience: Great family dentist. Kids feel really comfortable to go to the dentist due to the extra care shown by YND staff. The dental staff always explain what they are going to do at a level that the kids can understand. This helps reduce the stress of seeing the dentist. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: My GP recommended Your New Dentist to me to carry out any dental work necessary before osteoporosis treatment. I had not been to a dentist since 1974 due to fear developed by a number of unpleasant experiences. My first YND experience was very positive with a very welcoming and calming environment and a non-judgmental encouraging discussion followed by an examination by Monica. She explained clearly and concisely the treatment required and carried out some cleaning to boost my confidence. A treatment plan was agreed with costs and timetable set up. All the questions I had were answered to my satisfaction. I recommend YND to anyone who has a dentist phobia, it's a whole new positive world, pluck up your courage and go!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been visiting Your New Dentist for two years now, recommended by a family friend who had been visiting for a very long time. I’ve always been made to feel extremely comfortable and always left feeling confident in the work they provided. The girls have always made me feel extremely welcomed, always greeted by my name and they always go above and beyond to work appointments around me as I work full time and it isn’t always easy for me. Very fairly priced, very welcoming, overall a great dentistry and I’m happy and proud to be a patient of theirs! Highly recommended!

Fantastic experience: If you suffer from going to the Dentist anxiety, like I do (severely), then Your New Dentist in Mooroolbark are the people to go to. It was my first visit to them yesterday with an emergency same day appointment due to a broken off tooth. They were absolutely fantastic! They were so understanding, caring and patient, just as their website says they are. I had no pain from treatment what so ever which is testament to their skill. As I had escalation of anxiety during treatment they gave me breaks to enable me to recompose myself.They couldn't have done any more to help me feel at ease. Their treatment rooms are immaculate and modern which was very reassuring. I wouldn't go anywhere else, and I highly recommend them. I never write reviews like this but they were so I good I wanted to let everyone who may read their reviews know.

Fantastic experience: Ok, so I NEVER do reviews, yet alone for a dentist!!? However my initial experience at Your New Dentist was so profound that I felt compelled to share my experience. Going to the dentist at best is a chore, but for some people it is a complete nightmare, yet every single one of us has to do this. In all the years I have had to go to the dentist not much has changed, other than the equipment has become more hi-tech, but the basic experience has been the same. Whilst I generally don't have any issues, like many of us there are still some aspects that cause some apprehension, so it's certainly not on my 'look forward to' moment. So why was it so different here? Put simply, there is a holistic approach that is apparent from the minute you enter reception. The care and attention to detail is subtle yet obvious, with an empathy I have never, ever seen anywhere else. It's not a facade; the passion and commitment to care that was very evident is not something that you can just conjure up, it has to be part of the mantra. Whilst the actual dentistry was as good, if not better, than any other I have experienced, the focus was on making my experience as trauma free as possible. I wasn't made to feel guilty about neglecting my teeth, on the contrary I was given a wealth of information to help me going forward. With the amount of attention I received I was preparing for bill shock, but not so. In my opinion this confirms they are genuine. If my follow up experiences are as good I may actually start looking forward to going to the dentist. If you suffer extreme dentist anxiety then you MUST come here. There is no substitute for a woman's natural, instinctive and empathetic care. Plus smaller hands are less taxing on the mouth :-)

Fantastic experience: This was the best dental experience i've had in my life! After visiting three dentists within the local area, un-happy with the treatment options and high costings, I came across 'Your New Dentist' on Manchester road, I needed urgent and substancial work done which was completed on the day. I felt no pain, everything was explained to me each step of the way, with a video link so I could see the steps coming towards completion. The end result was absolutely brilliant, I was suprised that I didn't feel a single thing and the cost was substancially lower than any dentist I had previously been to, incredibly fair. The interior of the dental clinic is beautiful, it is obviously a very heigenic environment, with beautiful decor. I felt so comfortable from the moment I walked in and the warm service I recieved. Fantastic experience: Over the last 6 months many people have told me what a fabulous dentist Monica O'Malley is - and how she makes it her personal mission to remove the anxiety people associate with going to the dentist. My grandchildren were in need of some dental work so I booked them in and took them along to see Monica. From the moment we arrived the atmosphere was different. The look and the feel of the practice was not typical of a dental surgery. It was comfortable, relaxed and colourful. The team from ‘Your New Dentist’, in Mooroolbark made us feel welcome and relaxed about our visit. Both girls needed some treatment and it was absolutely pain and trauma free. I would happily refer anyone needing dental treatment to Monica & the Your New Dentist team.
