Fantastic experience: Everyone was absolutly lovely

Negative experience: I booked an appointment and got a confirmation email, only to be told on the day that the appointment was not available due to a mess-up with their booking system on HealthEngine.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to this dentist for over 5 years. I find the receptionists great. Parking is good. Clinic is nice. My 2 dentist I’ve had have been great. I now have Dr Shivananda and she is fantastic

Fantastic experience: Wow!! What an amazing dental facility I had an appointment with Dr Sethi and Assistant ( forgot her name sadly ) on the 14/08/2025 and the procedure went smoothly and efficiently. Before the procedure Dr Sethi was really nurturing and professional. She guided me through the process without any judgment and helped create a plan for the health of me and my teeth. During the procedure both Dr Sethi and assistant were fast and reassuring making sure I was comfortable and pain free. I appreciate the top level service and will be coming back to this practise. Thanks for the bubbly environment too really helps calm the nerves!

Fantastic experience: Hands out the best dental experience I have ever had with Dr Sethi! She was very welcoming, explained everything that she was doing and what to expect during each appointment. Fantastic experience: Myself and my 2 boys, now 9years old and 12 years old have been going to St John Dental and seeing both Dr Yamuna and Chantelle for a few years now. These 2 ladies make us feel at home all the time. They care, accomodate and are the loviest professionals I have come across. Just recently my youngest had to have 4 teeth removed, he was a little nervous at the start but Dr Yamuna went through step by step what was happening, distracting my son and he had no clue what was going as he was listening to her through the whole procedure. Chantelle was encouraging and gave him a fidget toy to hold onto which he loved. He had no bruising and was eating pretty much after the numbing went away. We had a follow up call from the receptionist to see how my son was very professional. Can not fault this surgery and there lovely staff.

Fantastic experience: Very clean and efficient service. Incredibly attentive and professional staff. Highly recommend this place after being saved by them in urgent circumstances. Bringing all my records and business over for the foreseeable future after just a few extremely positive interactions.

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best dental experience I’ve ever had! Dr Yamuna and Chantelle are honestly amazing — so kind, professional, and genuinely fun to be around. I’m usually a bit nervous with dental visits, but they make me feel completely at ease every time. We always end up having a laugh, and they’re the kind of people who notice the little things. It makes the whole experience feel really personal and warm. Got a filling the other day and told them not to show me the needle and they made the whole numbing process feel like there wasn’t even a needle there because the atmosphere was wonderful! Couldn’t recommend them more!

Negative experience: Just had a dentist appointment with St John Dental that I have been going to for years, I usually see an amazing dentist but she was not available so I had to see a new one, from the get go I was judged for my previous addiction, she tried to give me radiation therapy when she knows I’m pregnant and her comment was “ oh but you need to get your teeth fixed that matters most” no my unborn child matters most and I will not expose her to radiation or judgement, I was judged for previously being a I’ve addict which I no longer am, she accused me of wanting pain killers when I never asked and she said lots of off hand comments about me and my situation, tried to get me to pay $600 for a mouth guard when I can get one made for a quarter of the price, she was extremely rude and off hand from the beggining, I did keep my cool but I did rant to my mother after. I know I’ve done bad stuff in the past and I know I need my teeth fixed but the disrespect, comments and judgement was not needed. I have been going to St John dental for years and I do not want to discredit them just this dentist- Dr Yamuna Shivananda who I recommend only going if you are ready to be judged and snide comments- I

Negative experience: Pulled molar out when it didnt need to be. Had 2 extracted but only needed the one that hurt pulled. No big discussion just pulled Never again

Fantastic experience: Had poor dental work done at another clinic, booked in at St. John’s and was met with friendly service and excellent work by Dr Tilly who helped fix and correct the previous work done. Left feeling much happier about the work performed and mouth feeling much better!!

Fantastic experience: I was super apprehensive about the price attending on a Saturday for an emergency tooth extraction, however not only was I pleasantly surprised to find that the price was cheaper than my usual dentist that I see, but the staff were absolutely amazing! Thank you Dr Tanjum and the lovely assistant you had on Saturday the 8th of March. You were both so caring and kind. I was so impressed with everything I am now switching to St John's as my usual dentist!

Fantastic experience: I am under the care of Dr Yamuna Shivanand for restorative dental work, my front teeth were worn down and fragile due to years of Bruxing. I was quoted by one dentist for crowns that would have cost over $16.000. I sought a second opinion and was advised there were other options for me. I made a fully informed decision to go with Dr Yamuna, and I am so soooooo grateful I did. The restorative work has been completed, my natural teeth, that are essential healthy, have been spared from an irreversible invasive procedure that has cost over $13.000 LESS! I can’t get over the amazing results as it is life changing, LIFE CHANGING!!!! Dr Yamuna your expertise, talent, attention to detail and artistry is quite outstanding! You talked me through every step of the process which in turn made me feel comfortable and confident. Fantastic experience: My fiancé has always hated the dentist, yet upon coming to St John dental Joondalup the staff were very friendly and made him feel very comfortable. We saw Dr Yamuna and Chantel and will definitely be going back! The reception staff Debbie and Claire were also super lovely and helpful when he lost his HBF card! They honestly went above and beyond for us!

Positive experience: Not normally one to make a review, but I’m pretty disappointed to be honest. I had organised to have my wisdom teeth removed by a doctor, had organised to take a week off work (FIFO) which is not easy to do and had booked well in advance with my boss, ended up getting cancelled on the Thursday as original Doc was sick ( lovely lady), but then booked the same day at the Wembley clinic, only to be told a few hours later that the appointment was also cancelled for that day. Then booked for the following day (Friday) down in Cockburn, to only be informed that it was only a consultation and that i wouldn’t be getting my wisdom teeth removed once had driven 45 min, and also that I would need a CT scan done on my face to make sure my teeth weren’t to close to my nerve. I was then informed that if I get the CT scan done on that same day (Friday) the dentist would be able to remove on the Monday, so I then pay $300~ for a CT scan (can I get that back??), to then be informed that he won’t be able to do it. Over all, friendly staff, I just wish there communication was better, a lot of my time wasted, and now I got no sick days left at work, and my wisdom teeth are killing me!

Fantastic experience: 5 Stars to Dr Jack Chan! He's been our family dentist for the past few years and so I have gotten to experience his work and abilities over those years. I recently had 4 X fillings and Dr Chan was really patient, slow and gentle throught the process. He took time to explain what was going to happen and what to expect. Cannot fault his advice performance and abilities.

Fantastic experience: I was told by a Dentist in Carine a few years ago that I would require another expensive extraction by a dental surgeon after the first surgeon broke a tooth during wisdom tooth removal. I had a different pain investigated by Dr Shivananda and the Dental Nurse (sorry didn’t get her name) we’re awesome. They removed the tooth that I had been putting off and fixed a filling. Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: Dr Chan was amazing with my 6 year old who needed his first little filling with the help of some happy gas. He was fast, friendly, fun and so gentle. When we left, my son asked if we can go back to the friendly dentist next time. Highly recommend for young children!

Negative experience: Extremely rough. I've had intense and consistent pain for four days since having a tooth extracted is FAR worse than before. Could achieve equal or better results with a brick to the face.

Fantastic experience: Finally a dentist i can trust. Joondalup is fan girl crushing over dr. Chan. Trust me, I speak to mates local in the area and dr. Chan is always spoken of highly. I'm writing this whilst numbed up to my eyeballs but what a pleasure he and his team are. He explains all his steps and is so clear and patient. Really.affordable too. I'll be back so you can yank my other half out. Thanks guys

Fantastic experience: I sincerely can't express how amazing st john dental was it was easy to find plenty of parking the office was clean and I was welcomed by a lovely receptionist the wait was not long then a fantastic dentist and her dental auxiliary assured me all would be OK helping me with my crippling anxiety I was explained everything step by step and costs so there was no nasty surprise and they also followed up making sure I am OK thank you so much

Fantastic experience: Just saw Dr Jack Chan and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I had a horrific experience in the past and it’s given me anxiety seeing a dentist ever since! Dr Chan was amazing from the very start, explained everything thoroughly, and listened to my concerns. Fantastic experience: Jack Chan has been my Dentist for 5 yrs now, he is one of the most professional dentists I have been too in many years. The staff from reception to the dental assistants are professional and very helpful.

Fantastic experience: Had my wisdom teeth removed and a few other treatments by Dr Jack Chan. He was awesome in making sure all questions I had were answered and making sure I was comfortable and not in pain. The day after my procedure I got a phone call from Fiona to check up and see how I was going. Amazing service all round.

Negative experience: Very bad experience, i been to this place few times. Always 30 to 40 mins delay even making advance appointments.

Fantastic experience: Great experience for first visit. Friendly staff at reception and very welcoming dentist and assistant. Explained clearly what needed to be done, as well as what I didn't need at the moment - a refreshing change from experience with other dentists elsewhere! Very competent, efficient and aware of how I was doing during the cleaning procedure. Will definitely return and recommend this to others.

Fantastic experience: I been here a few times now and the dentists are the staff are excellent. I was lucky to get an appointment for emergency dental where part of a tooth and an old filling had disintegrated and I came out an hour later with tooth feeling and looking as new. Great service. Fantastic experience: I contacted Apollo Dental by phone at 1.40 due to toothache in broken tooth, spoke to Claire who was lovely and had an appointment at 2.20, efficiency plus, saw Dr Shagun Gandhi who was compassionate, and very professional and an excellent dentist, she extracted the tooth after offering me many options, I chose extraction, Dr Gandhi was very gentle I will definitely be continuing to see her, and highly recommended her. Fantastic experience: I am in the health profession as well and I was extremely impressed with the care I received. The receptionists were amazing and the dentists made every effort to fix my problem immediately. I couldn't speak highly enough about my care and follow up.
