Fantastic experience: Michael is amazing! Know one likes to go to the dentist but I truely trust him with myself and whole family! They have great machines and all update with highly technology, Michael is very knowledgeable and we recently had to have a tooth extraction for my 8 year old which he made as pleasant and as comfortable as possible, I’ve been seeing Michael for years and I really highly recommend him and the clinic!

Dr Ernest always makes the time to listen to any concerns we might have and talk us through the different treatment options available. His care and concern for optimal dental health for my family and I has always gone above and beyond. Let’s be honest, no one likes going to the dentist, but my 6 children no longer dread their appointments and always leave with a bright shiny smile on their faces. Fantastic experience: I can’t rate Photogenic Dental highly enough. My whole family have received the best of dental care there, for years! My son has additional needs and both Dr Ernest Yeo and his team have worked consistently across multiple appointments to reduce his sensitivity and grow his confidence - he now happily attends dentist appointments and remains in the chair until the dentist is done - which is a miracle for us. I love the culture of the practice, the friendliness of the team and their commitment to an exceptional standard of care. I wouldn’t hesitate recommending them to anyone needing a dental care!

The receptionists are warm and welcoming, and the boutique-style setting adds to the calm atmosphere. Dr. Michael is a gentle, highly professional dentist who takes the time to talk through each step, which really helps ease any nerves. They also take photos to explain exactly what’s happening, so you feel informed and confident in the care you’re receiving. Fantastic experience: A large shout out to all the team at Photogenic Dental, Mount Pleasant. From the warm welcome on your arrival by Administration and Reception staff your visit to the clinic is instantly put at ease. Our entire family now visits this clinic due to the reliable care provided by Earnie and his dental team. Our Son was told by multiple Orthodontists that he was unable to wear Invisiligne, but Earnie assured us that he would have an incredible outcome if we chose this option. After a couple of years of diligent care and guidance we are thrilled with the outcome and confidence our Son now has Thank you for making our experience to your clinic a positive one, we have total confidence and assured the best advice and procedures possible. Fantastic experience: I highly recommend Photogenic Dental if you want the best dental care. The staff are extremely professional, friendly and they have all the latest equipment and techniques. Couldn’t thank Dr Ernie enough for helping me smile more thanks to his Invisalign treatment!

Negative experience: Very poor experience with photogenic Dental. I initially wanted to purchase an essix retainer in February 25. Mikaela initially quoted me 120$. I asked for 2 pieces. Once the order was placed, few hours later Mikaela called me to inform me that she had made an error and it should have been 180$ each, OK I accepted and ordered 2 pieces. Again in March I wanted the same retainers made, so I visited the clinic, the dentist Yvonne Go Informed me I can probably order one through the lab directly, I said no I want to order it through photogenic Dental, so she said Kenny will call me back. Kenny never called me back? Am I surprised? Not at all. I called the clinic again, they said Kenny will call me back again. Few hours later Kenny called and said I must see the surgeon who did my surgery. I told him the surgeon told me to see my dentist (which is photogenic), he insisted the surgeon is the right person to see because there could have been shifting of my teeth, I told him you just need to make the same retainers made 1 month ago using the impressions taken 1 month ago. He was very hesitant in accepting my order for what reason only he and Ernest Yeo know as they had both discussed this prior to calling me. Ernest had fed Kenny with the excuses to be relayed to me. Anyways after I insisted that I want them to make the retainers again, he said OK, we made a mistake last time, if you want us to make it this time it will cost you 740$, I said 740$? He said yes, we made a loss last time so this time it will cost 740$, I said Kenny, a plastic retainer shouldn't cost 740$ and it is you who quoted me last time, I can understand a small increase but not 740$. Anyways he held his ground. I just found it surprising that a plastic retainer would cost so much. It was very clear from that they did not want to take on this job, (not due to monetary reasons), but due to another reason. Eventually I flew overseas and got the retainer made for 25$ each. Photogenic, Mr. Ernest Yeo and team, I have lost confidence in your clinic, and you have also lost business of my entire extended family. Hope you don't engage in unethical behavior with other clients and be more straight forward in your dealings with your patients, especially in the position you are holding as a dentist in Australia (i would have least expected such behavior from you). If you don't want to do something, tell the client straight up rather than going round in circles, trying to handball me to my surgeon and then multiplying the cost by 5 times because you didn't want to make it for me. This is really not on, in this day and age. In your profession you know very well surgeons don't see patients for retainers, so you should have never tried to hand ball me to the surgeon in the first place. It is your job to make the retainer, you should have taken on this job at a reasonable rate. At times you need to accept a job at a loss to retain clients.

Fantastic experience: A stressful trip to the dentist is terryfying but its necessary. I went in after months delayed and walked out extremely calm and pleased. I have since been back 2 more times in the past 6 months and left in the same state. My 6 year old has also had minor work done without a bat of an eyelid which is a sign of a great and knowledgable dentist. Dr Michael is fantastic, could not recommend anyone better. Reception staff are lovely and very helpful. Worth the visit.

Fantastic experience: Stumbled across photogenic dental by accident when shopping nearby and am so glad I booked an appointment with them. Mikaela was so friendly to work with in the transfer of my old dental records and arranging my appointments. And Dr Michael has such a great working manner. Felt very looked after and (don’t judge me, but) I can’t wait to go back for my next appointment. They also have a TV on the ceiling to watch during your clean and examination, which I thought was excellent. Best dental experience I’ve had, ever. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: Staff were lovely and great with the kids (2yo and 4yo). They managed to get a good look in both and did a full clean on the 4yo which was great (did not expect the 2yo to cooperate so you did very well!). All positive, no stress and they left a lot of time for us so we didn’t feel rushed which was greatly appreciated. Fantastic experience: My husband and I have been seeing Dr Michael Welten for a couple of years now and have always felt very well looked after. I have a huge fear of going to the dentist but Michael is fantastic at handling my anxiety. He has a calming demeanour and a great sense of humour that put me at ease from the first consult. Michael is clearly a very skilled practitioner who consistently goes above and beyond. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the Mount Pleasant clinic is lovely and modern.

Fantastic experience: The crew here are lovely and helpful. I have been seeing photogenic for a few years now and they are always exceptional. I just had my wisdom teeth out yesterday and couldn't have felt more in capable hands. The surgery was over quickly and done perfectly, i barely feel sore and dont even need painkillers the day after. (Oustanding considering this wasn't a routine pull; it was a bit more complex than that) The care here is great, the opinions given are very thoughtful and I recommend this place to anyone who wants a great dental experience. :)

Dr Ernest and his hygienist Sue make dentist visits not just tolerable but genuinely enjoyable! I used to avoid dentists and as a result had some major dental work that needed dealing with. Fantastic experience: Dr Ernie has been treating my family and I for the past 4 years. I came to Ernie initially because I had a tooth cap fall out (from work completed by another dentist) and he was able to fit me in for an emergency repair. I was so happy with his service and professionalism that I came back in a few weeks later to have a full consultation to repair the remainder of the dental work that had done when I was in my teens as I felt that it never looked natural and I was so self conscious about it. Dr Ernie was so professional, kind and understanding and put in a lot of effort to create a smile that looks so natural for my face. Dr Ernie has also treated each of my children since they were 2 years old and has been so fantastic with them, encouraging them to watch my dental exams and allowing them to become familiar with the equipment. This has allowed both of my kids to actually enjoy visiting the dentist and getting their checkups too. I would highly recommend Dr Ernie and the Photogenic Dental team!
