Negative experience: Disappointed with Quality of Filling – Not What I Expected from an Experienced Dentist. I visited Dr. Nigel Chippendale yesterday morning for a filling after one came out. Since I work in the city, I did thorough research to find a reliable dentist and Practice & chose Dr. Chippendale based on his impressive profile—over 30 years of experience and qualifications in advanced dentistry, including implants. I had high expectations and placed my trust in both the dentist and the clinic. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing and far from what I expected from a senior professional in the field. The filling was done extremely quickly—within just a couple of minutes—using a laser tool, with no drilling or shaping or smoothing involved. The Appointment was for 10:40am and I was called in the room around 10:56am and I was out and paid the bill at 11:02 am. Talking about last tooth in the picture attached. When I asked if he should smooth or adjust the surface, I was told he couldn't do anything more. . The result feels rough and unfinished, and the filling is visibly uneven.one can see a little gap as well in the picture attached. It also interferes with my bite, as it now touches the upper tooth, making it uncomfortable to even close my mouth properly. Picture attached with the review. I didn’t expect this level of work from someone who also performs dental implants. I’m attaching a photo of the result, as well as the receipt to make it clear that this was a paid appointment, not a charity visit—so I did expect a higher standard of care. His response that "nothing else can be done" left me very surprised and dissatisfied. I also have four implants to be done in the near future. After this experience, I’m honestly relieved I hadn’t started the implant treatment here. Based on this filling alone, I’ve lost confidence in proceeding with more complex work at this clinic. This review is not intended to be harsh, but honest. I hope it's taken constructively. Patients deserve both care and clarity, especially when choosing experienced professionals. Very Disappointed service. Dr. Chippendale mentioned during the visit that he treats patients well so he can sleep peacefully at night. While I respect the sentiment, my experience didn’t reflect that level of care. The end result left me quite dissatisfied. and i find the practice just a money-making business. Unfortunately, I left the appointment concerned. My understanding was that the decayed tooth would first be properly cleaned before placing a temporary filling. However, during my appointment with Dr. Nigel Chipperfield, a filling was placed without first cleaning or treating the decay. As a layperson with some understanding of dental care, I’m aware that sealing decay without proper treatment can lead to infection, pain, and ultimately the need for extraction — something I had hoped to avoid. As I’ve already paid for this treatment, I’m reaching out to the practice to request that the temporary filling be removed, the tooth properly cleaned and assessed, and then a new, appropriate filling placed to prevent further complications. As you are experienced and knowledgeable professionals, I trust you would agree that sealing in decay without proper cleaning can lead to infection, increased pain, and ultimately tooth loss — which I am hoping to avoid. as I am concerned about the risk of infection and discomfort. I cannot leave the tooth in its current state and will need to seek corrective treatment either way. While I am willing to go to another practice and pay again if necessary, I am still hopeful that your team, based on your reputation for patient care, will serve your future or current patients by following correct procedures.

Negative experience: I waited nearly 6 months to get an appointment with Doctor Huelbel I arrived for my appointment to check in and asked the young receptionist if the name change to Bupa Dental which had changed from last time I was there meant anything to me as I am with Medibank. She snarled at me yes you will pay more, I asked her how much more than Bupa she said it depends on your health insurance but substantially more, here’s the form… fill it out. She was rude disrespectful and why was I not told this was the case on the phone that they had changed their name I have been with this dental practice for nearly 25 years and to be treated that way by a receptionist who wouldn’t even be as old as the length of time I have been a patient at that clinic is disgraceful, I am now looking for a Medibank Private Dental provider who treats their patients with respect.
Fantastic experience: My teeth were pretty bad. They were super polite and gave good advice. What's really cool is you know how full jaw xrays, etc, are normally done somewhere else. Not these guys. They can do everything right there. It turns a 25-minute visit into a 1.5 hour visit (coz my teeth were so bad), but you get everything sorted in one go. I was really happy with the result. Plus, being a bupa dentist, the whole experience wasn't expensive.

I'm glad I did and that I went to Riken Dental Group on a recommendation. Before going to Riken Dental Group, I used to feel really stressed about going to the dentist, and now, I really don't get stressed about going to the dentist. I feel so much healthier, overall, with my teeth looked after, and more confident. It seems easier to communicate and take part in community confidently. It's been a few years going there now, and recently, I went to appointments with the new dentist there. Everyone at Riken Dental Group that I've spoken with there or had appointments with there, have been wonderful.

Negative experience: Couldn’ remember password of my card. But I got an access to my online banking. I can transfer it so I asked bank details. The receptionist Ali was do rude telling they need the payment right now not by EFT. I paid with another card but so not happy with their service. 30min filling cost 318$. Manager Bronni also not able to manage the floor

Fantastic experience: I had my first visit there and i felt really taken care of. They clearly do a full initial assessment with no out of pocket cost which was amazing. Dr Meagan Huebl talked me through everything she was going to do and what I needed to get done and why (but NOT in a patronising or judgemental way). Fantastic customer service and now will be my dentist for as long as I live in Adelaide!

Negative experience: They replaced old fillings in my front teeth that had been there 20 years and every one of the replaced fillings fell out. They only lasted a few weeks. One fell out 3 times AND they wanted to charge me. My cerac filling to back molar was a poor contact and had to be replaced by another dentist. Terrible customer service and extremely poor dentistry.

Fantastic experience: Riken Dental are AMAZING!!!! I was recommended to them by a friend a few years ago as I was a very, very, very nervous (scared) patient. I badly needed some work done and was advised they were very good and understanding. A couple of times they have squeezed me in for emergency work after I'd experienced a very long, agonising night with an abscess. Being pregnant both times, they were quite literally life savers. I cannot speak more highly of everyone that works there and incredibly, I no longer fear going to the dentist. I wish I could give them 10 stars.
Negative experience: I made an appointment at 10.30am and visited on time. However they told me the appointment was for 10.10am and I was late, therefore I have to be rescheduled which was fine if the appointment was really at 10.10 but it wasn't. However what made me really upset was the Dr Sxxxh treated me as if I was a criminal, guilty of being late. She had an angry face(same as nurses and the receptionist) and was showing me an attitude and made some ridiculous comments such as Dr : you should go and see your previous dentist (knowing that he has moved to Melbourne, that's why she took me over). Me :? ....but... he moved to Melbourne? Dr : Yes. that's right.... Me: .....What ?? It was really unpleasant experience and unfair. My appointment was for 10.30am. But I was basically forced to rescheduled and kicked out. If they were ok about it and still being nice with a basic manner/courtesy (like they should have) and try to reschedule me as other patients waiting, and say there could be a miscommunication between me and the receptionist I would have been understanding and fine. However I felt like I basically treated like a peasant.. I would never go there again, and would not recommend to anyone to see the DOCTOR.

Negative experience: After three needless consults, one walkout and a broken tooth and, my dentist selling me root canal after root canal, I've severed ties now because all of that was all for one extraction? ? ?
Negative experience: If you cannot perform a simple filling you really should not be allowed to work as a dentist. A simple filling and now my partner has been eating one sided for more than a year and this has given her constant discomfort and a swollen gum.
Negative experience: I went to get an examination, x-ray and cleaning done, the staff was extremely rude and made a huge scene, forcing me to make payment when i clearly came with a free voucher provided by my insurance provider. Apparently BUPA hadnt marked my waiting period as waived off despite offering the waiver when selling the cover to me. It was a mistake on part of BUPA, and the dental clinic simply refused to listen to me. When i refused to pay them only then did they take it up seriously with bupa and resolved the issue with the waiver being enforced, but not before creating a great deal of drama. I am an australian immigrant and this was a classic case of racial profiling and stereotyping. Will never goto this clinic again.
