Negative experience: Very poor experience… Booked an appointment for my daughter to get a broken cap fixed. Was told they didn’t have time to do it on the day and charged me $95 for telling me to come back another day. We had a family emergency on the day of the next appointment which caused us to be late. We were going to be 15 min late but was told over the phone we would have to re book another appointment and would be charged $200 for not turning up on time. Was also told that it would cost $400 to fix the cap. So $600 total! Went else where and was charged $225! Total rip off merchants. Never again!

Fantastic experience: I can not speak highly enough ofthis dental practice. As a fibromyalgia sufferer I was terrified as I needed a comprehensive clean with local anasthetic. The team were highly proffessional and very kind to me. They explained everything before they did it so I got no suprizes and they were highly compasionate to the fact that I was scared and had to stop them a couple of times due to my condition and pain sensetivity. I just really can not express how amazing this practice really is. Even down to their front desk staff who are really friendly. Thouroughly recomend.

Negative experience: I've been attending this clinic for 10 years + and until the last couple of years have found it quite satisfactory. However since the introduction of the dental hygienists the service has declined to the point where I’ve discontinued using them for my health’s sake.

Positive experience: Not very happy with last visit , seemed to take forever just for checkup & clean. I travel two hours to come to Mark Ferrari because he is a fabulous dentist & has never hurt me but I am not happy about the dental hygienists doing the examination. This last time I found very uncomfortable & even had to ask him to stop a few times. I travel from Phillip Island to see Mark because I have faith & trust in him. If I have to see somone else I may have to think about finding a dentist closer to home !

About 2 years ago Dr Mark brought trained dental hygienists into the Practice to help him improve our patients oral health. This was quite a change for our practice as previous to this, Dr Mark was providing both the examinations and cleans himself and had done so since he started at the practice in the 1980's. Understandably, many of our patients did not want to change! However, fairly recently it has been discovered that the bacteria which cause gum disease can also contribute to heart disease, diabetes, stroke and even dementia. This puts a lot more importance on our patients oral health, so we believe that a quick 'checkup and clean' is not in our patients best interests anymore.
We want the best for our patients so that means more time spent assessing our patient's oral health and gum condition, and providing the best advice and most thorough treatment that we can. Although Dr Mark still does the examinations on all of our adult patients, our trained hygienists provide the cleans and gum treatment. This is all done in the same appointment but does take a bit longer than it did previously. We have found, however, that the majority of our patients appreciate the extra care once the reasons are explained to them.
We are sorry that your last hygiene appointment was uncomfortable and we will do our best to make sure you are more comfortable next time. It is very important to us that you are happy and that you also understand the reasons for the changes at our practice.

I have been attending this clinic for years and see both Mark and Vicki, their kind, gentle and pain free technique always helps to allay my fears. Fantastic experience: This is one appointment for which I never have to wait more than a couple of minutes, which makes a refreshing change! Reception staff are friendly and efficient. The hygienist, dental nurses and dentist work well together and are also friendly and interested in their patients. I have always been happy with Mark Ferrari's care and count myself lucky to have found this caring professional.
