Fantastic experience: Professor Ramesh was amazing with treatment, answered all my questions and went above and beyond to help me with my pain. I’d highly recommend him to anyone!

Negative experience: Do not go to this clinic in any of their locations. I waited 3months for an appointment and it wasn't urgent. Receptionists rude and incompetent,called me back 4 times after my appointment because they billed me incorrectly. Had 2 surgical procedures,got infection and wasn't able to get antibiotics because Dr Costa wasn't working. By the time Dr Costa got back to me I already had antibiotics from my GP which was another expense. Then was sent a rude email when I cancelled my follow up appointment as I already had my results. This clinic is MONEY HUNGRY ,RUDE , INCOMPETENT. STAY AWAY!!! AND THEY CHARGE WAY BEYOND NORMAL PRICES AND EVEN WITH PRIVATE HEALTH,YOU GET LITERALLY NOTHING BACK. DO YOUR RESEARCH DO NOT GO TO PERTH ORAL MEDICINE.

Fantastic experience: The staff and doctors are very professional and friendly.

Negative experience: This place is a scam, don't go here. I went for a consultation and in the first 30 seconds I was told what the impacts of the treatment would be, to which I said would not be something I wanted and then I still got charged $410 the same as if I was going to to be proceeding with the treatment. This information could have been given over the phone or in an email prior to the consultation and was not anything that was specific to me. The fact that this clinic makes an appointment with someone while knowing full well what the appointment is for and only then giving this general information and then charging $410 for that shows that this is a dishonest business with a dishonest process who know full well what they would be doing and was happy to fleece me.

Negative experience: Below is my personal experience and review here. I was referred initially to have Botox of the masseter performed, as I suffer from chronic pain. Upon arrival, my experience mirrored others - a long time with an assistant, and minimal time with the specialist. There was very, very little review of my prior attempted treatments, medical history etc, and I was instead told that Botox would not be suitable, and pushed to purchase a splint they would make in-house. This would come at a cost of roughly $1,200. I accepted this out of desperation and had the scans performed. I picked up the splint the following week and again paid for a consult. No less than 4 nights after the splint was fitted, a large filling which sat underneath the splint was knocked off, causing immense pain. There was also very heavy wear on the splint only above where the crack had occurred. I did call the clinic asking for an emergency consult to repair this, and also emailed. I received replies saying that the specialist would not advise me over the phone or email and that I would need to attend to have a follow up. In the meantime, my local dentist fitted me in for an emergency repair on the broken tooth. They remarked that the wear on the splint was incredibly heavy right above where the tooth had cracked, and speculated that the splint had dislodged the broken portion with the pressure concentrated on it due to poor fit. This appointment cost me around $300. The following day I was finally given a consult with POMDS, where they heavily filed down and adjusted the splint. This cost me over $400. They did not adjust the splint without charge, despite it being incorrectly sized, and having failed in function within 4 days of it being made. In my mind, this was unacceptable, and shows they do not stand behind their work. All in all, I am out of pocket around $2,000 and have nothing to show for it. Thankfully, my doctor was able to refer me to a practitioner competent in applying Botox of the masseter, and this has since resolved my issues. I agree completely with the other reviews which mention minimal specialists contact, along with not being given a tailored solution. Edit on 14/7/25: I would like to “gently correct” the disappointing response to my review. Despite what was written below by the business, I can clarify that the fee charged for adjustment of the incorrectly-fitted splint (specialist “consult” fee and technician fee) was not in fact the remaining balance of the splint itself. The businesses response that the fees I was charged to speak with the specialist and have the splint adjusted were “the remainder of the splint production fee” are completely untrue. Considering that this was an “emergency” appointment which would not have occurred if the splint had not failed, why would the second half of the balance (already paid as per their terms 6 days earlier) on pickup, be due at an emergency consult? This makes absolutely no sense. The emergency consult would not have, and should not have occurred if the splint had not failed. The upfront payment covered half of the splint cost at the first consult. The remainder was paid when the splint was picked up. To re-iterate, according to my own receipts, POMDS terms of payment, and bare logic, the splint itself was paid via deposit on the first appointment and full settlement on pickup. All additional charges for their adjustment and consult were added after the fact. The cost at the follow-up consult 2 days after the splint failed (6 days after it was picked up) was a completely separate cost. It was not adjusted for free, and the specialist fee was added on top as they refused to address my concerns over email or phone. Additionally, clearly the splint itself was not scanned or fitted correctly as it required very heavy adjustment to allow it to fit correctly, after failing following 4 days of use. As reflected in other reviews, this lack of accountability is sadly not uncommon.

Negative experience: Really disappointed the consultation fee was increased and I wasn’t notified. Even though I already had an appointment booked with a quote for services at a cheaper price. I still had to pay the increased rate. It’s already incredibly expensive for people. Not very equitable healthcare and not very good customer service.

Negative experience: I was sent here when I asked Ramesh about Botox as I was having no luck with his treatment. $1000 plus for Botox and it did nothing. No follow up to see how I was. They just care about money. Couldn't claim anything on Medicare/hbf.. just get it at a cosmetic place or dentist for $500 where you will also get real treatment.

Fantastic experience: I had a jaw issue where by my jaw became locked up as a result of an old football injury. Perth Oral Medicine were able to rectify this issue over a number of months without surgery or medication via the use of a mouth splint.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic experience at Perth Oral. Cannot recommend Dr Amanda Nguyen highly enough. Went in with severe jaw pain from years of clenching my teeth and she recommended occlusal splint therapy and in just a few months im almost pain free. Strongly recommend this place and also George the dental hygienist has been brilliant for the follow up checks. Has a great bedside manner and personality and never leaves you feeling uneasy about any of your treatment. Will definitely be a regular for check-ups from now on

Fantastic experience: Most treatments for sleep apnea are not very comfortable or they are disruptive to the other partners sleep. Perth Oral provided me a solution that works great for me. I have a better quality of sleep and wake up feeling refreshed. Definitely worth seeing what they can do for you.

Fantastic experience: Perth Oral Medicine and Dental Sleep Clinic has honestly improved my health. I would not have thought that having long term headaches would be fixed with a dental splint. Over a period of time from having headaches that would last up to 3 months, I can say now that I have my splint I don’t have headaches that last up to 3 months. Would highly recommend into getting a splint if you have the same problem. The staff are always friendly and welcoming which you want everytime you go into appointment.

Fantastic experience: In 2019, my dentist discovered a flat white lesion on my lower lip. He referred me to Dr Amanda Phoon Nguyen who after a biopsy returned a diagnosis of orthokeratosis with mild epithelial displasia. Regular 6 monthly check ups are a small price to pay for what could have been.

Fantastic experience: I had severe jaw pain for 18 months. By the time I finally discovered Perth Oral Medicine & and Dental Sleep Medicine my life was pretty miserable. Soon after that I had a mouth guard to wear overnight and some very easy exercises to do. In addition, I was referred to a physio who specialises in this kind of pain and from then on, my pain reduced and continued to reduce quickly. I now just wear the mouth guard at night and I can eat anything, bite straight into an apple and yawn without fear of pain. Initially, I just didn't know what to do about the TMJ pain, or the best way to get this treated. I wish I had known about Perth Oral Medicine when this started. I suffered a lot of pain and risked further damage by trying to ignore it. Now I love recommending them and encouraging friends and family to just make the appointment and get it sorted quickly. After years of pain, cracking teeth and head aches, my splint has worked amazingly. I clench my teeth when stressed or angry. Something I have done as long as I can remember. This has meant the loss of three teeth and damage to almost all my back teeth. I had tried many treatments including a splint from the dentist, which caused even more issues. I was even referred to someone for Botox! A lovely young dentist encouraged me to come see Dr Amanda and see what she could do. I am thrilled with the outcome.

Fantastic experience: Dr Lalima Tiwari and her assistance Linley are absolute professionals, and so caring with their approach and when discussing results etc. As someone with extreme anxiety caused by DV having to go to the clinic was very, very distressing, they treated me with the utmost respect, understanding and talked me thru each part of the procedure and results. I cannot speak highly enough of them including all the reception staff both on the phone and in person. The rooms are very comfortable clean and with lovely decor so you don’t feel like your in a stark hospital room!

Fantastic experience: Experienced severe pain in right TMJ. Difficulty biting, chewing. VERY distressing. Dentist referred me to Dr Ramesh after Xrays showed severe arthritis. I was reassured, given an exercise plan and attended weekly laser treatment at the Jandakot practice. After 5 sessions I began to feel the benefits of the therapy. After 10 I was pain free. I was provided with a splint to wear at night. Initially it was annoying but I soon adapted and encouraged by the improvement of symptoms. I religiously did the prescribed exercises .....in front of TV, in the car, and while peeling the potatoes. It’s a year now since the initial diagnosis and remain pain free. Can bite into an apple.....what a treat! Experiencing similar issues then rest assured it’s treatable. As long as you do the homework, and attend regular treatments.

The team at Perth Oral Medicine saved my sanity! The exercises and splint worked in days and now even with the stress of selling a house, my ears & jaw are not causing trouble. I was lucky enough to see Dr Lalima Tiwari who was excellent. Very professional, gentle and caring. Her assistant Lora was also very good. The friendliness of Trina at reception certainly helped to make my experience at this Centre a very pleasant and successful one. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr Tiwari and this Centre to family and friends.

Fantastic experience: I went to see Dr Ramesh because I was having trouble with jaw pain, locking and clicking. He was extremely kind and caring as well as thorough and provided a treatment splint and plan for me. It didn’t take long for my jaw to be as good as new! Turns out I had slipped a disc in my jaw from grinding and was killing my teeth so their service has been a great help. Highly recommend them.

The process was very smooth and I was made sure I had understood all the information given before leaving, they then gave me a follow up call a few days later to make sure everything was all good. Negative experience: I do not recommend this dental clinic . There was minimal Dentist/ specialist input to the consultation, when the dentist was present he had a condescending manner and did not actively listen to my questions. He also didn't give any clinical rational for recommendations.The worst medical/ dental experience I can ever remember… The consultation started with a young girl saying she was showing me in to the consulting room, however she then sat down and started asking me questions, and typing my answers, no explanation was given. I eventually asked her if she was a dentist ( thinking she was probably a young dental student on placement and had forgotten to do a proper introduction… ) I went for a specialist opinion, instead most of the consultation was carried out by a very very young dental therapist (or nurse?,when asked she didn't really know what her qualification/ title was). This therapist/ nurse did nearly all the examination and made measurements… The Dentist eventually "swanned in” felt my jaw rapidly and then started talking. My questions were glossed over rapidly and he seemed more intent on trying to sound friendly then actually considering what I was trying to ask. I gave up asking questions. The dentist obviously had a one size fits all mentality and wasn't willing to actually listen to me. After the dentist left to dictaphone his notes. The young therapist/ nurse returned and started demonstrated exercises; no one asked what what my Physio had recommended. ( I was charged an extra $40 for this ‘demonstration"!) She also said she would do a mould for a splint, the Dentist had said in one sentence that a splint may help and showed me one… no clinical rational or information about success rates… I just stood up and left at this point, regretting ever having been to the clinic. The letter they sent back to my Dr, Physio and Dentist contained some incorrect and mainly irrelevant information and again didn't actually discuss his clinical findings. ( He didn't even bother sending me a copy of the letter!) He at also at one point said here is some info for your "hubby” I should have walked immediately… so condescending. A very disappointing waste of money.

Fantastic experience: It was my first time to visit the clinic. I was diagnosed with TMD and I've been looking for a specialist that can help me with this. I'm not quite at ease at first, but Dr. Ramesh has been very helpful. He made me feel that everything will be okay. This is a must place to visit when you have oral medicine conditions. Thank you!
