Fantastic experience: Came here for a clean as it’s conveniently located and reviews were high. Clean was thorough. No education on how to keep teeth and gums clean was given. Asked for no fluoride in the consult form; was still offered it. Was told I’d receive some options (plural) for relatively small chips at the bottom of my two front teeth at the end of the appointment, but was only recommended shaving off most of my natural enamel for $1,450 each porcelain veneers. Upon reading reviews afterward, I can see this is Karl’s specialty. After finding out about composite veneers from my best friend on the 28th of November, I emailed asking if they were an option. Hadn’t heard back, so followed up on the 9th of December; still haven’t heard back. Edit: Marcus offered me a complimentary consult to reassess my options. I received fillings on the bottom of my front teeth and due to my (unconscious) grinding habits and bite, he anticipates they won’t last. I was super grateful for the down-to-earth and consultative level. He barely charged me and gave me exactly what I was after even if it ends up only a temporary solution. His dental assistant was super lovely as well .

Fantastic experience: I discovered Karl almost a decade ago whilst he was working for another clinic. Since then I have chosen him as my primary dentist. When other dentists have diagnosed an issue too difficult, Karl has offered new and innovative practices which has saved me both financially and aesthetically. I have had quite complex dental issues in the past and Karl has successfully resolved these problems in a kind, honest and non judgmental manner. I feel that Karl has improved my dental hygiene and aesthetic to a point that I am proud of my smile and no longer dread going to the dentist. It’s rare for me to write a review, however I feel that Karl has offered a level of professionalism and quality that deserves the highest recognition. The Byron bay practice is also always incredibly clean, inviting and importantly punctual. Cannot sing Karl’s praises enough

Fantastic experience: As a traveler it is always complicated to choose a dentist, especially for someone who has never attended anyone else but his own dentist back home. I had an emergency and needed to remove a tooth urgently before leaving Australia and going to the Philippines. Dr. Karl took care of me like if I had been a client for many years He made space on his fully booked agenda for me, he did an amazing job removing the tooth and checking me every second day to make sure the surgery went well. I couldn-t appreciate more his work and passion. Thank you Dr. Karl and O'Meara dental for taking really good care of me while I was thousands of kilometers from home!

Fantastic experience: Just returned from another successful trip to Byron, where Dr O'Meara completed root canal treatment on a tooth, and also installed 2 crowns. I have been a patient of his for more than 20 years, and while I now live in Sydney and have cleaning and basic maintenance conducted there, I always fly up to see him for the complex procedures. Apart from being a great person and thoroughly professional, I have immense faith in his skill and expertise, and his dedication to my long term dental health. I highly recommend booking an appointment with Dr O'Meara to get your dental future on track.

I cant recommend him more, I flew in from Sydney to have my additional veneers and a crown as I wont see anyone else - he is that good!!! The process was seamless, incredibly fast and comfortable. Fantastic experience: After seeing Dr.Karl for many years for both hygiene and cosmetic dentistry and having such a great experience, I finally took the plunge and opted for a full set of veneers and I could not be happier with my results!! Fantastic experience: Best dental experience of my life, no exaggeration. I haven’t been to a dentist in over 10 years due to past traumatic experiences at other dental practitioners. I could easily have a panic attack at any time at the dentist. From the start the staff at the reception were very nice and welcoming. Fantastic experience: I’ve been seeing Dr Karl the past five years. He has assisted me with an handful of dental procedures and I truly feel I’ve never been in better hands. Very professional, warm, kind and considerate. The best of the best.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to O'Meara since relocating to Byron Bay four years ago and have always had great service. Yesterday I had two crowns measured, made and fitted all within the space of three hours. The latest technology that enables this is fantastic - my crowns were complex but the technology means the crowns fit perfectly first time and are able to cover parts of the tooth that conventional moulded crowns could never achieve. I am 100% happy with the outcome.

Fantastic experience: World's best dentist ripped out my tooth today. Tooth was dead and had to come out. Wish I could say i was anxious going in, but Karl has been looking after my teeth for more than five years now and I knew he'd make it painless. In truth I didn't feel a thing during the procedure - even the hitting with the hammer - and I was kept updated throughout. Always a pleasure with Karl, already looking forward to next time.

Fantastic experience: Wow, I honestly don’t even know where to start! My partner had porcelain veneers done by Karl and they were so amazing that I ended up flying from the Central Coast to Byron just to have him work his magic on my smile too — and it was so worth it. Fantastic experience: Got a full smile of veneers done, I was very sceptical as I had a good smile with teeth that kinda suited me, but they were small from years of grinding in my sleep, I was also very was worried it would look unnatural and fake which does not suit my look. Karl reassured me and we spent years planning this, it was not an overnight decision. Karl knew exactly what I wanted and what would suit me. It has been over a month now and I am over the top happy with my new smile, I used to look at photos and always think good photo but me teeth looks a bit funny. I believe your smile and teeth represent a big part of you and I can now proudly smile wherever I go, which is something I have always done but now with a proudness knowing it looks great and healthy! :) also to add my friends will ask me what have you done, have you got your eyelashes done as you look different but good! So that is just stating how natural it looks and how even my closest friends can’t put a finger on what it is! Very happy!

I felt so safe and comfortable with the dentists. Great work and advice from them. They told me about other alternatives that they could do, that would save me money. Fantastic experience: Outstanding in every way in an emergency situation. Were able to accomodate a young person who lost his adult tooth within the hour, by moving less urgent appointment around. The receptionists showed empathy and professionalism in a stressful time. The dentist was able to act quickly to assess and perform necessary actions to preserve the tooth. The dentist liaised with professional colleagues to ensure the most appropriate actions were taken. Further assessment and actions were completed by a senior dentist at another practice of this dentist. Transport was offered for the patient and the family. A follow up phone call was made to check up on the patient in the afternoon. I would highly recommend this practice, for their humanity, professionalism and expertise. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Update to the below: They offered to reimburse me for the purchase of gel elsewhere which I really appreciate. Changing to 5 stars. The service is good; however, I had an appointment to have a mold made for whitening. The 35% tooth whitening gel is supposed to be provided as part of the service. After 9 days, I received a call that the mold was ready; however, they had run out of the whitening gel, and it would arrive 'hopefully within a few weeks.' When I expressed that this was a bit frustrating, they said it was not their fault, but the fault of their supplier. Well, it's the business's responsibility to choose reliable suppliers. I think a discount for the gel would have been appropriate and I could try to buy it elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: 20 yr client here, stopped going to Marcus O’Meara for a few years due to distance from home when they moved to Byron. Recently returned and the whole experience was next level, absolutely amazing dentistry; top, top,top.

Fantastic experience: I broke a tooth late on a Friday afternoon and was desperate to get it fixed. Fortunately I found O’Meara dental. They squeezed me in and worked well passed their closing time to remove the tooth and fix it up. The whole team from reception to Jess the hygienist to Nicki the amazing surgeon were outstanding. Even living in Sydney I am tempted to make them my regular dentist!

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience at O’Meara Dental last week, not a big fan of dentists normally, going on previous bad experiences with other practices in the past, feeling more like a number than a patient so usually kept any issue I had to myself and waited for them to go away. Fantastic experience: My husband recently had his 15 year old veneers replaced by Dr Karl. We were incredibly impressed with Dr Karl’s communication- he kept my husband abreast of all plans for the procedure and did a thorough amount of pre-planning to make sure my husband knew what to expect before/during/after. Fantastic experience: O’Meara Dental is redefining the entire dentist experience !! I booked in when I moved up from Sydney 4 years ago, primarily because I walked past and thought it looked like a relaxing day spa rather than the typical anxiety-producing dental clinics I’ve spent my life going to. Also…no rude reception staff here, only incredibly helpful and professional support staff that have made me feel comfortable from day 1. I recently chipped one of my veneers that I have had for years and decided after meeting Dr Karl and viewing his work, that I would replace the lot. I also have a dental phobia so he definitely had his work cut out for him. I was surprised that the process, which used to take weeks, is now done in a single day, and yes the results were incredible!! Beautiful, natural looking teeth and better than I had ever hoped for!! Dr Karl is extremely professional and kind; he is also a perfectionist and clearly loves what he does, and the level of concern for my wellbeing before and during the process was next level. The follow up support has also just been amazing. Ive had a lot of dental work over the years and no one has ever checked in on me like this and made sure I was ok. I’ve got to the point where I’m actually not afraid to go to the dentist anymore and I NEVER thought I’d say that. I cannot recommend this dental clinic and especially Dr Karl highly enough. Fantastic experience: What an amazing experience. After coming in with 2 x broken teeth and a complicated gaping bite, Dr Karl and ably supported by Mon and Maddie worked their magic. A week later I walked out with 2 pain free crowns and full veneers resulting in near perfect teeth, bite and “special” smile. I can’t thank them enough. Fantastic experience: The best denist I have been to in my 63 years. Nothing to hard came in on his day off as that was the only time I had. The explanation, thoughtful manor and skill of Karl is amazing. I was in the chair for 2 1/2 hours as I had a lot of work to be done but felt like 1 hour. The after care has been exceptional to ensure there have been not issues, is a very special quality that I have never had before. You have taken the dread of going to the dentist away. Don’t start me on the facility or practice it is second to non. I am trying to say give Karl a go you won’t be disappointed.

Fantastic experience: Wow!! After 50 years of feeling traumatised by dentists, I think I've hit the jackpot! FInally I have found a gentle, caring and compassionate dentist in Karl. He was just fabulous. Had two fillings and the entire procedure was quick, efficient and totally pain free. He walked me through my X-rays and explained what was required thoroughly.
