Negative experience: The dentist refused me leave without any treatment, never had this situation happened to me! My crown fell off I asked for stick it back but the dentist refused and insisted me do make a new one and it will costs me $2600! I refused cuz I don’t have this budget, she then said she can do refill to my tooth and it costs $400. I refused again, I wanted to get my crown and leave but she refused me to leave. We been communicating for a long time, I was lying on the chair, with this position to “communicate” with her. She and her assistant trying to convince me to accept the treatment. I and the r patient, I definitely have the right to see other dentist from other clinic. But they kept refusing me to leave! Until I paid $400, I just want to leave asap! I still have my crown, but bcz of the refill, I can’t stick it back! Such a waste of my money!!! Update:13/01/2026 I reported it to the HCC and got their replied today. What the female dentist told HCC was completely not truth! I wasn’t happy and satisfied! If I were, why should I report to HCC after treatment?!?! And many details I can’t tell here and I was told my case is closed.

Negative experience: I’m saddened to say this is the most honest review I could give and I’m only going to touch the surface in hope they do the right thing and refund the money they owe, or I may as well use the word stole as I could not get the work I’d payed for finished due to lack of care, ownership and the orthodontist moving states while my braces sat stagnant! Unknown at the time I had a gum disease that remained not only untreated but uninformed I even had such an issue, this was visible and known from the first x-ray they took and basic procedures is a peri clean. Yes I was charged for one but never received it so 2.5 years down the track not once mentioned or treated to the point my teeth both top and bottom were falling out. Not only did I have to pay another orthodontist to complete the dodgy work and remove the unfinished braces but further more spending 6 months being treated by a periodontist totalling a further $12,600 on top of the $14,000 I was charged by James Malouf practise only to be left with Crooked teeth root canal half done, teeth wiggly and loose and 3 years wasted trusting he would do the right thing. This is and was the most horrific, painful, expensive and time consuming ordeal I’ve had to endure. I’ve held off exposing the truth as James assured me he would make good of the situation as I complained throughout the entire process from rough handling, rushed work, negligence and poor practice. It’s seems to have fallen on deaf ears. I’ve now spent a total of $43,400 on my teeth and 4 years of pain and suffering. 12-18 months and a perfect straight smile was the promise.very short fall from grace! Shame!

Fantastic experience: Caring n professional people

Negative experience: The absolute worst experience I’ve ever had with a dentist or any health professional. Didn’t even bother to explain what the issue was or how to mitigate future pain and damage. Performed the procedure with no anaesthetic. This place is an abattoir. Save yourself and go anywhere in the world then this practice. No idea how this business is AHPRA compliant. Disgraceful.

James was amazing to work with and always made me feel comfortable and confident with his plans to help me achieve the smile that I always dreamed of. Fantastic experience: I saw Dr Malouf years ago now when I was probably 19. I had previously had braces with a dentist (not orthodontist) and my teeth had moved considerably despite the short amount of time since having them removed. I booked a consult with Dr Malouf for veneers and although he could have taken my money, he actually advised me that realistically although I was unhappy with my teeth, that he didn’t think I should get veneers and should find an orthodontist and get braces again. He also let me know that the retainer my dentist used was cheap and bad quality and this may have played a factor in my teeth moving. I genuinely appreciate his advice so much because at that point in my life, I was incredibly impulsive and willing to go ahead even if it was a huge expense that I couldn’t really afford, and his advice saved me considerably. So even though it never went past the consult stage with Dr Malouf, his advice was invaluable and I’m very grateful for his direction!

He is personable and so friendly and his staff are truly lovely, from the reception/ admin team to his dental nurse support team, they are professional and strive to deliver excellence every time you visit. James did amazing work on my teeth, they are stunning. It’s a ten out of ten for James, he is the best prosthodontist in Queensland and I’d even say Australia. We drove four hours down to see James and four hours back every-time we attended and he is worth the distance and travel time. Thank you for accepting us as your new client’s . We will only see James now. James is truly the best in his craft. We attended several dentists prior to attending James’ clinic, with disappointing advice and results, with lots of money spent, sadly other dentists did not come anywhere near his work. Fantastic experience: I have just finished my process of 10 porcelain veneers with Dr. James and I could not be happier! For anyone considering this procedure I would highly recommend having a consult with James. I was anxious about having this procedure done in the beginning, but James explained everything thoroughly to me, was honest about the risks involved, and helped me decide exactly what I wanted and what would work best for me. I never felt rushed or like he needed to move on to the next patient, I was given so much of his time at all of my appointments. Negative experience: It was disappointing. I saw Dr Malouf initially who recommended braces as an option which I was open to. Dr Malouf mentioned it would only need 3-4 months of braces for the issue to be fixed. We booked a follow up appointment for a clean and also to meet the orthodontist. I had to wait upwards of three months to see the Orth, which is fine. I called to confirm my appointment 2 weeks from the date as I wanted to ensure it was all booked. They said the orthodontist would not be in on that day and so rescheduled. Disappointing I had to call to find this out. Once I went in for this appointment, I was shuffled through with a nurse for a clean, when I thought I was booked with the Orth and Dr Malouf hence the 3 month wait. I was rushed through the cleaning process which was painful to say the least, the Orthodontist stepped in for a hurried 1 minute where he recommended braces (thanks for the info I was already aware). I had to prompt the nurse to go and get him again to answer my questions (which I waited 3 months for). The Orthodontist told me it would be ball park 12 months of braces, but he couldn't provide any firm timelines. Saw Dr Malouf for approx. 2 mins at the end who recommended I come back for fillings and think about braces. Great.. thanks. All in all, super unprofessional. Felt like I was rushed through and just another number. Booked into the Orthodontist on false info and it was very evident the Orth wasn't making any money given he barely spent longer than 1.5 mins discussing such an involved procedure.

Fantastic experience: I have just completed treatment for 4 porcelain veneers and I couldn't be more happier. I was trying to get a very natural look without it being too obvious. I did my research and found Dr Malouf to be not only affordable but very skilled in this area of cosmetic dentistry. He is teamed up with highly professional technicians which provided expert advice along the way. This made me feel very confident throughout the entire procedure. Fantastic experience: I had a tooth infection and they got me in first thing the next day to fix the issue. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful the dentist was excellent. No one really likes to go to the dentist to get a tooth removed but these guys made the experience painless . They were very efficient, professional ,informative and caring through the whole process. Fantastic experience: I was experiencing tooth pain and my regular dentist was closed during the pandemic. Finding Dr Malouf was a blessing and life saver. I was able to have an early appointment the next day and my emergency was solved without any fuss. Very professional and caring. I no longer see my regular dentist.

Fantastic experience: Dr James is a very skilled and knowledgeable dentist and cosmetic dentist. He is also very honest, caring and friendly and he has a wonderful team working with him. He has been mine and my family's dentist for 4 years now and we could not be happier. My 8yo son has never dreaded going to the dentist and he is always very excited to see Dr James and Brooke for his 6 monthly check up and dental cleaning. Well, this says it all!!! Most recently Dr James restored my smile with veneers and I could not be more pleased with the results. His attention to details and perfectionism are second to none. Fantastic experience: I needed an emergency permanent retaining wire replacement and couldn’t even close my teeth due to the broken wire hanging. The reception provided excellent service and they were nearly immediate to get me in for an appointment. Dr James was extremely knowledgeable and was able to fit me with a new wire after a short wait that fits and feels 10x better than the initial wire and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve never had a better experience with any other dentist before in my life and would greatly recommend him to anyone needing some dental work done.

I originally started seeing James for braces (with an amazing result), and have since had teeth whitening and go for regular checkups. The reception and nursing staff are also very friendly, welcoming and helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

Fantastic experience: Dr. Malouf is one of the warmest and most compassionate medical professionals I’ve come across in my life. I have spent the last ten years having consultations with specialists and have never had an experience as positive as this. Unfortunately, due to time constraints and having to move overseas sooner than anticipated, I can’t go through with the treatment. However, I have had many consultations for veneers and would definitely trust him with my teeth over anyone else. It is obvious that he is highly skilled and competent, and his work is a testament to his abilities as a cosmetic dentist.

Fantastic experience: I had been unhappy for years with the uneven colour and assymetry of my front teeth. Previous dentists had told me i needed a full mouth of veneers to achieve the look I was after. Dr James took the time to explain each step and listen to what I wanted. Two natural porcelain veneers created the look I wanted while also keeping the rest of my natural teeth, something he knew was important to me. Natural results and exceptional work.

Negative experience: Barbaric ineptitude. just home, im in a lot of pain. He rushed the procedure and could not care about the pain enforced. He even slipped and bashed me with one of his tools. Silence was huge apart from my crying. If i could give minus stars, I would.

Fantastic experience: It was 8pm on Tuesday night and one of my staff call me in a panic as they had badly chipped on of their front teeth. Both thinking it was an emergency we tried calling a number of 'after hours' dental surgery's with no success until I got on to Dr Malouf. He was great, he calmed my staff member, vetted her and assured her that it wasn't an emergency. He saw her first thing in the morning. Though we didn't need to see him that night, Dr Malouf was willing to open the surgery for emergency dental work. Thank-you again Dr Malouf we really appreciate your dedication, professionalism and understanding.
