It was very professional and she did a great job of explaining everything. I’m happy to say I experienced no pain during the 1.5 hours appointment. I’ll be coming back for all future dental matters. Couldn’t recommend enough.

Fantastic experience: I had an excellent experience at Gungahlin dental surgery. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. Dr. Dom is truly a caring and skilled dentist who takes the time to explain every step of the process, ensuring comfort and confidence.

Negative experience: I don’t usually write reviews but this was the worst dentist experience I’ve ever had. I was told repeatedly that I wasn’t in pain during an extraction and what I was feeling was ‘pressure’. When I insisted that it was in fact pain and needed more numbing agent, I was given another pain injection by a clearly annoyed dentist and told if that didn’t work that was the best he could do and I would just have to ‘bare with it’. He didn’t explain what was happening when he decided to remove the tooth surgically halfway through the procedure and was clearly annoyed when I asked if he could explain what procedure he would be doing. On top of having my intense pain dismissed, the dentist was very rude and clearly rushing from the moment I walked in, my blood was all over his hands throughout and either no or poor communication. Not a care was shown when I was in tears from pain during the procedure or when I left in tears. Absolutely terrible experience you couldn’t pay me to go back to that clinic and I don’t recommend!

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been seeing Dominic Vu for the last 10+ years. We do not live in the ACT but drive to see him from NSW, since he relocated to Gungahlin. He is a pleasant and kind man and is the first dentist that my super nervous husband has ever felt relaxed with! He does exceptional dental work. I have had a lot of work done on my teeth over the years but in the last 10 years I haven't had anywhere near the amount of problems I used to have. We all know that dentistry costs money but Dominic's rates are very reasonable. His surgery is bright, clean, aesthetically pleasing and welcoming and his staff are all lovely. I would recommend him to anyone, especially those people who are terrified of dentists :)

Negative experience: The lady dentist did surgery of my mom’s tooth but omg she stopped in middle of surgery saying your mom is scared and it’s strong teeth. How can someone stop in middle of the surgery after giving so much pain to patient ? They charged a lot too. Extremely disappointed with the unprofessionalism and damage caused to my mom's tooth during that painful surgery. Cannot recommend. Don’t take risk of going plz..

Negative experience: The doctor was so rude, and I paid more than 1300 dollars to fix one of my teeth with this dentist. Now, I have to pay more than 700 dollars to take off tha same tooth he fixed and also fix the tooth beside it, as he fixed the tooth in a bad way and didn’t make enough space between teeth and there is a decay in the tooth beside.

Negative experience: By far THE WORST dentist if I could put 0 star rating I would! He was so rude. I had a chipped tooth/filling and as a result had pain for 2 days since the tooth chipped. All of a sudden I need to either extract the tooth or get root canal (mind you the chip wasn’t big and had no pain or issue prior). I asked him to fill it for now and see how that goes as I have major surgery coming up and he wouldn’t even do that and let me walk out in tears. He was augmentative and did not have the slightest bit of empathy or concern. I would rather rip my own tooth out than ever see that so called dentist again. I advise you not to waste your time or money. I had a family member go their also and they said they had the worst experience with him but I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I needed to get in somewhere today. I regret it. DO NOT GO HERE!

Negative experience: I am a pensioner, and I am on under the "Oral Healy Referral Scheme" Domenic Vu is on this list and he supposed to serve me. I booked on with a week before, I arrived with 15" early and waited. When I see I have the wrong letter. When he see I came with wrong referral, he Domenic Vu, start to yelling at me, he was very rude and expiation me, I believe, because I am referred from Government Health Aged and Community Services. I derived home and came back with the right referral scheme forms. He yelled to me again with 3 persons hearing this, told me to wait until he will finish with all the patients witting there. I asked him that he do not want to consulting and I left.

Negative experience: Rushed and Unprofessional Went there to do filling up for my teeth. Told receptionist that want to do cleaning up as well. Serviced was very rushed. Told dentist that i want to do cleaning as well re fill out one of my tooth. Told them i have centrelink voucher, straight away treated so bad as if im a junkie. Asked if i have money to do teeth cleaning as it cost $120. As the voucher only cover the refill Was very rushed and rough. Blood was everywhere and was hurting so much and told dentist to be gentle and he didnt say anything and just keep going. And he did finish the job Now i have 6 ulcer around my mouth after service Would not recommend to anyone, as the dentist only care to make money not service, especially for low income people. Im sure it will be different if i go there as fully paying customer.

Positive experience: It was a warm welcome at reception, the prices are good. Unfortunately, I felt like the clean and polish was rushed by the dentist and needing to get it all done really quick. I was also unsure if fluoride was placed at the end. Overall, it was good but a little more care and focus is required.

Fantastic experience: Over 40 years I have experienced several dentists and have been fortunate in always finding clinicians who have been very good. About five years ago I started to see Dr Dominic Vu at Gungahlin Dental Surgery. This has been the best experience by far that I have had.. Dr Vu is a very caring and gentle practitioner. He explains things very well and is able to show you what is going with the latest computer technology. He will not hesitate to refer you to a specialist should this be required. Very meticulous, thorough and thoughtful in his approach to the dental issues you are presenting with. Also provides helpful preventative advice for maintaining good oral hygene. Lastly the fees are very reasonable, and well within the prescribed Health Funds guidelines. I cannot tecommend Dr Vu highly enough.

I received 30% off for my first visit as advertised but even after that his prices and services are very reasonable compared to other practices. Would highly recommend to anyone!

Negative experience: I would not recommend this place. I visited just after 1 pm on a weekday and there were no other patients in the waiting room. So, I figured I'd get a careful inspection, one that is not rushed. I had an issue with one of my teeth and wanted an opinion on what to do. To my surprise, the dentist didn't notice it at first even though it was fairly visible. He spent less than 15 seconds looking at my teeth. Only after I pointed it out several times did he notice. Not only that, my consultation was over in 11 minutes flat even though I had booked 30 minutes and there were no waiting patients. I had been glancing at my phone frequently whilst in the waiting room so I knew exactly how long it took. Also, a lot of the reviews suggest very good prices but this practice is located in a terraced house, the consultation room wasn't much bigger than my bedroom. The dentist could own this house, of course the prices are going to be lower compared to someone operating out of a suite in a shopping centre. It's probably the same amount labour wise, the good prices may not be out of the goodness of the dentist's heart. Bear in mind the work is shoddy too. I later visited a different dentist on another day who *immediately* picked up my issue. I won't identify the other dentist to avoid being mistaken as a shill. Overall, please stay away, visit this place as a last resort. There are many dentists in the ACT.

Fantastic experience: I booked in for an extraction here after my former dentist was unable to do it. Dominic was on leave, so it was a different guy (not sure of his name). It was a very difficult extraction taking over 1 hour, but he was persistent and it was pain free for me. I have had no complications after the procedure. The prices are excellent and they give a 30% discount for the first visit. I couldn't be happier with the outcome and would return without a problem.

Negative experience: First time going there and got an infection from there. So much bloody pain and I go in there 2 days after and he said he will just was it and put some dressing on it and I went to the doctors today and he said its badly infected not good for someone that has a heart condition now I'm on 2 different types of antibiotics and finally some pain killers. Would never ever go back there

Negative experience: This git has ruined my life. I am in agony, after having a filling here last month. He drilled down to my nerve, and now I probably have to have root canal treatment. I will not give this git the satisfaction of taking any more of my money, and will find a dentist that will not screw my tooth up any further.

Fantastic experience: Last night I lost a bit of tooth on a chewy nut bar. Rang up at 8am the next morning, set an appointment for 9 and they had the tooth decay sorted in less than half an hour. Amazing service, will definitely go back when my chronic lack of tooth brushing and sugar-rich diet inevitably catches up with me again.
