Fantastic experience: I recently had a clean and scale appointment with Bupa Dental Mt Barker and was very happy with the clinician (Dr Sophie) and the way she explained the assessment of current dental situation. Her easy manner allowed for me to understand easily not only what was good and bad about my teeth and gums, but why certain treatments should be undertaken to help with my long term dental care. I didn't hesitate to rebook for some corrective dental work specifically with her. I felt I was in capable hands.

Fantastic experience: I have recently started going to Bupa Dental Mount Barker as it is the closest Members First Ultimate Dental Clinic to me. I am really happy with the service from reception to the dentist. I cannot recommend them highly enough. The Dentist is so warm and understanding. If you are looking for new Dental surgery this could be the one for You.

Fantastic experience: Dara was a great Dental hygienist. I followed Dara’s advice & purchased the latest electric tooth brush with pressure sensor light to assist protecting gums. Dara also specified the brushes to purchase from the local chemist. All very easy with a tick box sheet Dara completed for me to take to the chemist for purchasing. Without Dara’s sound advice I would have purchased the traditional electric tooth brush that wouldn’t be the best for my gums & teeth. I’m only booking in with Captain Dara from now on!

I would particularly like to mention hygienist Daria who was absolutely wonderful with our 4 year old grandson. Daria really helped him to engage with going to the dentist as a positive experience. Fantastic experience: I've been attending dental appointments in many parts of Australia, both city and regional, since the 1950s. When I moved to the Mt Barker area in 2017 it was a good opportunity to change from a long-term dental care arrangement that had become unsatisfactory in that I felt I wasn't informed fully, despite asking questions about my treatment and related issues. Since becoming a patient at Bupa Dental Mt Barker I've always felt welcomed and respected at the practice. All staff are friendly and most professional. They provide information about every aspect of planned care, including the budgeting, and answer any questions in full. They also manage time very well and most efficiently. Led by Dr Chris, they are a most professional, friendly and supportive team and I have lost all reservations I had developed in recent years about attending dental appointments.

Fantastic experience: I have had a fear of going to the dentist nearly all my adult life. All the staff at Bupa Dental have been excellent. The dentist was so reassuring, explained everything and I was able to relax through my treatments. My fear has abated. Thank you.

Fantastic experience: Daria and Dr Babetti are both extremely warm and caring professionals that make you feel comfortable throughout the visit. I cannot recommend both of these dental professionals highly enough.

Fantastic experience: It’s never a fun experience booking a dentist appointment. I’m not adverse to them at all but still can be daunting. Jacqui on front desk is happy and has a vibrant welcome for everyone. Dr Chris and I had a good chat and made me feel comfortable in the chair. Maddie is a great Dental nurse. Daria my hygienist had a big job to do. We had a laugh about this. Again made to feel comfortable and explained what all the numbers mean. Lastly but no less important I met Lucy, there to mention I had no gap today, went through my quote and itemised the gap on the quote for upcoming appointments. And to be honest. I rarely remember names. But everyone I interacted with gave me a positive impression. This must be why I can remember all of theirs Good experience all round.

Negative experience: Don't mention that you feel uneasy/nervous at the dentist. I left the initial appointment feeling pretty happy with the service I got and was happy to go back, little did I know after my appointment they must have decided that I was going to be too difficult to work on. I'm confused what I did wrong other than mention I'm nervous when a dentist is rooting around on my mouth. The dentist said himself whilst I was in there that based on how I was he thought I'd be fine going ahead with the procedure. After leaving they 100% put me in the too hard basket and referred me to an expensive out of pocket dentist instead. I contacted them to book my second appointment after my initial visit (which they charged me $140 for no work done) I got a brick wall response where they refused to see me again, instead telling me they think I'd be better off at the specialist. I told them I can't afford to see a specialist and that I think I'd be fine getting the work done with them but it was obvious they were just refusing to see me again without saying it flat out. The lady on the phone said she'd speak with the dentist and get back to me, it's now been two weeks with zero contact from them! If I wasn't nervous enough at the dentist, I'm now worried about telling my next dentist that I'm nervous with the fear I'll be declined again. I want to preface that I wasn't in the slightest bit difficult or confronting to anyone at Bupa Mt Barker which is why I'm so confused that I'm being treated like this?!?!

Fantastic experience: We have been driving the 2.5 hrs to Bupa Dental, Mt Barker for 2 years now and wouldn't change it for the world. Past experiences elsewhere left us traumatised and paying more for our treatment out of pocket. The staff are friendly, gentle, fun and are great at communicating treatment plans and answering questions and concerns. We totally recommend them.

My last appointment I had Monica and she gave my teeth the best clean I’ve ever had - Ive always been be very prone to calculus and she got in there until it was all gone and my teeth were perfectly clean, thank you!

Fantastic experience: I was recommended to try Bupa Dental in Mt Barker by my partner who had some emergency dental work done and then went back for follow up. This recommendation was a big deal as he is traditionally very dentist-phobic. I booked my appointment online and was quickly contacted by a staff member to understand more about my situation so they could make sure I was allocated enough time and the right dentist. The appointment went very smoothly. I was greeted by admin staff on arrival and made to feel welcome and relaxed. During the appointment the dentist took time to make me comfortable and explain the options. There was no judgement, only solutions.

Negative experience: My experience with this practise has been disgraceful. I was informed that I had rescheduled my sons appointment more times than was acceptable (I wasn't aware there was a limit) and refused a further appointment prior to Xmas 2024 to complete a root canal unless a deposit was made, meaning he would have a partially completed root canal for a further 3 months, and be at risk of infection over the Xmas and new year period. As a matter of principle I declined their demand for a deposit and as a result both my son and I received a letter refusing us service at all their clinics, not that we wanted to continue using their clinic anyway. It was clearly retaliation for calling them out on their callous attitude. The reschedulig of the appointment was completely unavoidable due to a serious illness requiring hospitalisation for an extended period of time which was then followed by a whooping cough infection making dental treatment impossible. If it wasn't a priority to complete the root canal, to us at least, then I would have simply cancelled the appointment indefinitely as opposed to rescheduling it. I was informed by an unsympathetic receptionist that "We are a business first and you are wasting our time." This statement floored me. I'd never met such callous disregard when dealing with a medical professional. We are now using a professional and caring dentist that prioritises patient needs and is flexible knowing that sometimes things don't always go to plan. If I could give BUPA Mt Barker zero stars like they gave us zero empathy then I absolutely would. I am writing this review to warn others and hopefully save them similar contempt and humiliation that we have been subjected to by BUPA Mt Barker. I fully expect they will once again attempt to justify their position but there is no justification for a selfish, careless attitude toward a vulnerable patient experiencing a very serious and potentially life threatening illness. Just shameful. EDIT. Both my son and I were told by BUPA Dentist Mt Barker that all our existing fillings needed to be replaced due to age, but due to being on a pension we couldn't afford to do this in a single calender year. Instead, I logged into my BUPA account and did my own quote which was considerably cheaper than their quote. After seeing a new dentist, we've been told he would only replace a filling if it was showing signs of breaking down, which they aren't. This raises the question as to why BUPA Dentist Mt Barker would tell us that this treatment was necessary when it wasn't. And then turn on us when we didn't go with their quote which was in the thousands. Perhaps it's a reflection of their statement, "We're a business first".

Fantastic experience: Going to the dentist is not a fun activity. However, the process is made so much easier when greeted with a smile by the lovely staff at the front desk. The dentists and hygienists are very caring and happy to accommodate specific requests. They also go out of their way to ensure you understand whatever procedures need to be undertaken. Of course, Bupa members get free check-ups and cleans every six months, which is an extra bonus

Fantastic experience: My experience was with Daria, Dental Hygenist. Daria is very caring and open in her practice as a Dental Hygenist. She continually explained the processes she was undertaking and why she was doing this work. Her educational tips on my own Dental care are appreciated and will be beneficial to my future Dental Health. 10/10 !

Fantastic experience: Would highly recommend Dr Malvina Filip and the staff at Mount Barker Dental. I am very anxious at the dentist and from the moment I walked in the reception staff made me feel at ease. Dr Filip was very thorough and explained everything she was doing and what needed to be done. Her dental nurse Tara was very accommodating and it was just overall a great experience. Fantastic experience: Dr Sophie and assistant Steph were very kind, patient and accomodating, helped me manage and overcome anxiety associated with the dentist. Also Dr Sophie is very thorough, upon noticing something minor but worth investigation she assisted me to get a referral to an oral surgeon at short notice, and peace of mind.

Fantastic experience: Very great practice staff are all very friendly and welcoming and the dentist was very helpful and talked though everything, very satisfied with the service and care received and I don't feel anxious to come buy for my next booking

As a highly anxious patient she accommodated all of my needs, I felt comfortable throughout the entire treatment. Negative experience: Don’t dare be late! Because I was 14 minutes late and had my appointment cancelled with not a single person in the waiting room. How’s the audacity of a dentist getting upset about someone being late. I often wait up to half an hour when I visit the dentist. But of course my time is not worth anything is it?

Fantastic experience: I really liked the dentist I was previously seeing. He was amazing at his job but it was sometimes hard getting into the city and for some things the pricing was insane. I thought why not give Bupa Dental Mt Barker a try as I have been a private health customer of theirs for most of my life. BEST DECISION EVER! Dr. Barbetti is genuinely the best dentist I’ve ever had! Not only is she so kind and listens to her patients, she thoroughly explained every aspect of what I was there to see her for. The most comprehensive dentist I think I’ll ever know. She gave me info that 3 other dental practices never told me about or gave me options on, but she did. She was also super encouraging and validating as well which is a massive tick in my book! And another great thing which I’m sure won’t mean too much to most but when I went in to see her recently, she helped me with a question I had for an assignment I was doing for my course even though it was about an animal. She didn’t need to take time out of her busy day to try and answer my question, but seeing how genuinely excited she got about it made me so happy because it showed me she’s pretty damn passionate about her job, especially in the aspect of helping her patients the best she can in so many ways! Sorry for the long review but she deserves the recognition! And on top of all that. All staff members I’ve talked to or had dealings with have be extremely helpful, kind and caring. Bupa Dental Mt Barker you are one incredible team, thank you!

Negative experience: If I could give 0 stars, I would. My partner went in for a tooth clean and they identified an infection which they did nothing about. The tooth clean then caused the infection to slowly leak into his jaw, causing him to be in pain like I have never seen before. They sent him home multiple times knowing he was suffering with this. The final time he went in, he could barely speak from the pain, they put anaesthetic in his mouth which didn't work and they sent him home with painkillers that would apparently "work within an hour". They didn't, to which he rang them multiple times telling them he couldn't survive in this much pain and they said they can't do anything until the Monday (this was on a Thursday). I ended up taking him to Happy Chompers in Mount Barker instead, who immediately realised he needed nerve blockers to stop the pain and removed the tooth all within 30 minutes. That's who will be getting my 5 stars. Extremely disappointing and extremely stressful, causing him to have unnecessary days off work from being in so much pain and we moved away from even using Bupa for our Private Health Care all together after this terrible experience. Would not recommend.

Making both children and adults so comfortable while feeling included in the whole process, Dr Barbetti clearly excels in her chosen profession. Fantastic experience: Dr Barbetti did some great work on my teeth. She was very thorough and communicated treatment well. Another Dentist had done a filling which was trapping food after every meal. Dr Barbetti redid the filling, since my appointment it hasn’t been an issue. Thanks!

Fantastic experience: Saw Dr Kim Barbetti today she is amazing! I am usually quite nervous seeing the dentist but she is so good at talking through the whole process and I didn't even feel the injections!! 2 fillings-quick and painless. The staff are all so friendly and the premises is lovely and clean and everything looks modern and new, very sleek lovely calm environment!! Best dental experience I've had by far...EVER!!

Fantastic experience: I am not a big fan of dentists and I’m sure there are a lot of people who aren’t but these guys make you feel comfortable and at ease. Dr Ciacciarelli has given me the trust to go to the dentist regularly and not cry the second I walk through the doors. The girls at reception (please forgive me for not remembering your names right now, this ‘baby has taken my brain’ still has hold) who meet you with a wonderful smile, are all lovely, remember who you are and make you feel at home! Thank you all for being wonderful and friendly, I’m not scared to keep coming back!
