R Kong & C Chu Dental Surgery

Fantastic experience: Part of one of my teeth broke off. I rang Dr.Kongs dental office and they went out of their way to give me a 9am appointment. The procedure to fix the problem was done straight away was completed quickly. A very impressive experience. I have used this dentist a number of times now and have always found them very happy and friendly, very concerned for me as a patient, and with very fair prices. We all deserve to experience people with such good values.

Negative experience: Both dentists are terrible, years ago Dr. Kong wanted to remove my last molar on the left side because it hurt occasionally. I was young and ignorant at that time so I agreed to his suggestion. As a result, the gap where the tooth was removed has been constantly painful and inflamed in rest of my life, he's a dentist with no professional ethics, only interested in his own financial gain. His wife isn't much better either. I only see her for a teeth cleaning. She's very sloppy with her work, taking no more than 10 minutes to complete the work and using poor hygiene.

Negative experience: pretty standard and good for normal cleans and whatnot, but would strongly not recommend getting braces here. No coloured elastics over each bracket were ever put on, they were on for way too short and as a result my teeth didn't become fully straight, my jaw wasn't corrected, a wire was only put at the backs of my teeth (after the braces were taken off) when i asked them, and when i came back to tell them that my teeth weren't even straight and i still had jaw problems like tmj, they just said "oh but its better than what you started with" and that i was just looking into it too much. As a result, i will have to spend like another 5k on top of the 8k spent on the braces, in order to fix what the braces already should have done.

Fantastic experience: Experienced and honest dentist. They always fix the problem without the extra sales push. Will never use another dentist.

Fantastic experience: My family has been seeing Dr Roger Kong for over 25 years. Not only is he a fabulous Dentist with affordable prices, he has a great sense of humour that makes you leave with a smile. His wife also is amazing too.

Negative experience: I had high expectations of this place because it had good reviews. However my experience disappointed me. I went there for a simple wash. I was told over the phone it was going to be about 30mins. However they finished me in less than 10mins for $90. If they have done a good job it would still be OK. However I can see the plague still there. My teeth are not clean at all. Also due to the change of sensation after washing I only realized when I got home that they hurt my inner mouth. I did feel their equipment sort of burned my mouth during the process but thought maybe it's normal so I tolerated the pain. It was unbelievable this happened during a simple wash.

Fantastic experience: New patient to this dental practice, I was personally impressed that Dr Kong managed to pull a 4 root upper wisdom in less than a minute, his use of local aesthetic and needle placement was done so well I experienced very minimal pain and would highly recommend to anyone. He is polite, informative, knowledgeable and his DA's are lovely aswell.

Fantastic experience: My family and I have been visiting Dr Roger Kong for years now. Not once have I been disappointed with the professionalism and friendliness from Dr Kong and his team. Few years back I had my wisdom teeth taken out, anticipating to foot a large bill (as most other dentists would), however he charged me a very reasonable price to have them removed as they treated it as any other teeth extraction (as it wasn't particularly a difficult job). As 'scary' as bi-annual/annual dental visits are, Dr Kong always finds a way to make his patients feel comfortable. I would highly recommend Dr Kong and his team to anyone in Brisbane to give them a go.

Negative experience: She is the worse dentist I have ever met, I thought Malaysian dentist are good, but she is so bad with what she is doing, I went with a small fill up and she made it way bigger, one year I’m going to see her and she failed every time I visited, she caused me so much pain for a year and made the hole way bigger, the fills comes off in less than 2 weeks, all she said (I CANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT NOW, I RETURN YOUR MONEY…. I would never ever go there, also I won’t recommend anyone go to there as they are not well trained and not medically updated… old school didn’t work… can’t get over it, how a small hole caused me so much pain for long time and then she keep making it bigger so she can fill it … very unhappy customer zero star if I could …

Fantastic experience: Dr Roger Kong is the nicest, most gentle, patient, and considerate dentist I have ever been to. I had an emergency situation with a very sore tooth which was sorted out quickly by Dr Kong, with great care and understanding of my extreme phobia of dentists. I cannot thank him enough for resolving my extreme pain. If you are someone who has had traumatic dental experiences previously, please know that you will be in safe hands with Dr Kong and his team. Highly recommended

Negative experience: Took my mum there for a clean and check up for the first time. Thought a Chinese speaking dentist might help with communication. On arrival, they gave me a form to fill out for the medical record but they didn't even look at it. The dentist started his work not even ask my mum if she has any medical condition or on any medication. The whole experienced lasted no more than 15 mins top. The clean was less than half done and left her mouth feels like there is gravel in it.. cost $90. Will not recommend this dentist to anybody.

Fantastic experience: Me and my family have been going here for years and I have had nothing but positive experiences, but then again I really enjoy going to the dentist as strange as it may sound. Some experiences of note: I went for a third molar extraction. Just another day for Dr Roger, it only took him 10 seconds (no joke) and the tooth was out and I felt nothing at all. This guy is a king at extractions. I couldn't believe it was done so quickly. He is awesome but I just can't help but feel that he looks..a little sad inside sometimes. I hope he's ok. I had a RCT of my upper left canine by Dr Sonya and it was VERY painless, I almost fell asleep on the chair in the final appointment! Another huge reason I like this clinic is that Dr Sonya is amazing at settling anxiety, I really like the way she talks about her day and other things whilst she's working and even though you can't reply it makes you feel like you're at a social outing rather than the dentist. Also I probably shouldn't be saying this (because I hope it stays this way) but my goodness are the services cheap compared to other clinics. And that certainly isn't at the expense of quality either (unlike some places I've been to before). This clinic is just another shining example of why you don't need to be super fancy and in a big fancy building with the latest tech to do great bread and butter dentistry. I hope you guys are getting many NPs per month because you are a dying breed and deserve it.

Fantastic experience: First time back at the dentist for over 10 years, fear can be debilitating. Dr Sonya was amazing, very gentle and compassionate. Even thou I needed an extraction and still need a root canal, I am happy to go back and get my teeth all sorted with Dr Sonya. Very reasonably priced for the work done and the quote for the up coming root canal. I think I have found my dentist I am happy to go back to. Thank you. Very happy to recommend :)

Fantastic experience: Arrived from overseas and desperate to see a dentist for a second opinion. Everyone I called cost $180+ just for a checkup. Dr Chu was amazing told me to come in right away and was very honest with me when I told her work another dentist said I needed. Fantastic experience: Toothache and pain for 5 days. I have Call up 8 Dentist. Every Dentist wanted around $200 to $350 to remove my Tooth. But when i come to call up Dr Kong, he charge me damn cheap. (this is Emergency without booking appointment) he help me (even he is fully booked that day) and it took him less then 3 mins to took out my tooth. I was like walk in and walk out less then 20 mins. The staff and Dr Kong was friendly and AMAZING! REASONABLE and Best prices after i contacted 7 dentist. 10 out of 10 STARS! No doubt! I would recommend all my friends to Dr Kong. This has made me go back to him again! Thank you so much Dr Kong and all your staffs!
