Fantastic experience: Dr Wei Yi Chen was very attentive to my treatment. My teeth were very stained and sensitive, instead of recommending bleach he advised me to have a proper clean and he had a sand blaster that removed stain. When he was cleaning my teeth he was aware of my sensitivity and accomadated my discomfort. The clean was thorough and it did remove most staining. I was very happy how naturally white my teeth looked afterwards. Thank you to Dr Chen and the staff at Bupa Dental creating a energetic and welcoming environment. Overall I had a very positive experience and will be recommending my friends and family to him

Positive experience: I started using BUPA dental to take advantage of the twice yearly clean. Overall I am satisfied however my recent visit was disappointing as the clinician doing the suctioning was VERY rough. On a couple of occasions I mentioned this but she had a heavy hand and was pushing the instrument almost down my throat. Better training in this area is required. Everyone needs to remember that our mouths and teeth are sensitive at the best of times.

Negative experience: My family of six have been patients of this practice since 2005. Our long term dentist was Dr Jon Stephens who was an exceptionally good dentist, providing highly skilled and gentle care and was always reliable. Since his retirement this practice has changed notably in the past 2-3 years. We’ve experienced ahigh turnover of practitioners and more emphasis on invasive procedures as opposed to Dr Stephen’s conservative approach. However, the reason I have given a one star ratng is because over the last two years my partner and I have had an excessive number of appointments cancelled and/or rescheduled. I understand that this can’t be helped in the case of illness as was the situation this morning when I received a text message at 6.04am. However, all other cancellations have be to accommodate the dentist’s schedule. This shows a disregard for the patients time.

Negative experience: I’m writing this review as the mother of the patient who attended this appointment, and I’m extremely disappointed with the experience and the way it was handled by the practice. Before the visit, I personally phoned the practice to check if the dentist could assist with trimming down a retainer, as it was causing irritation to an area of existing gum damage. I was assured this could be looked at, so we booked the appointment in good faith. On the day, the dentist was 15–20 minutes late for what was the first appointment of the day. Reception advised the dentist was stuck in traffic and casually suggested we could reschedule for later that day or another time, with no apology or consideration for the time taken off work to attend. Most people don't have the flexibility to simply come back later. When finally seen, the dentist advised she could not help and couldn’t offer any recommendations on where to go for the required support. Despite receiving no service, my daughter was charged for a full 40-minute consultation — even though it was clear within the first five minutes that they couldn’t assist. The rest of the appointment was spent looking at Google images of treatments the practice doesn’t even offer, which felt like a complete waste of time. My daughter expressed her disappointment to the reception staff on her way out, but nobody followed up. I called the next day to speak with the practice manager, hoping to raise my concerns constructively. Instead, I was met with a defensive and dismissive attitude. There was no apology, no acknowledgment of our concerns, and no indication that feedback provided in person the day before had even been noted. It was clear that empathy and patient care were not priorities. As a long-standing patient of over 10 years, I found the lack of professionalism and customer service deeply upsetting. There was no attempt to understand the situation or work towards a more respectful or solution-focused outcome. Sadly, this is not a practice I would feel comfortable continuing to attend or recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: Wonderful service & very friendly competent staff. Dr Niels Kirsten did a great improvement on my bite to prevent further eroding of my teeth. Negative experience: Got charged $504.5 for a regular clean and check up - the highest bill I've seen so far! I have a private health insurance so I don't pay anything out of pocket, sure, but I do really question the ethics of billing every code possible to maximise profit. Who is paying for this greed at the end of the day? - members through increased premiums. Also, rude receptionist. Won't be coming back for sure.

They also have some paper stuff for the kids to scribble while waiting. Dr. Chen was incredibly kind, thorough, and took the time to explain everything in a way that made me feel at ease. Fantastic experience: I cannot thank Dr. Chen enough, not only did this clinic offer me a very quick appointment when I was in severe pain on holiday but once in the chair, I knew I was in experienced hands. Dr. Chen had a great bedside manner, explained everything and was so gentle and kept me comfortable throughout my procedure. Fantastic experience: Staff and dentists are friendly and helpful. They run on time and don't rush you. Parking underneath but sometimes it's full. Can do a crown in one session as the equipment to make the crown is on premises.

Negative experience: Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this practice. They were quite good with our kids but I was very disappointed with my experience.

Negative experience: I recently encountered a frustrating situation with a dental clinic when trying to cancel my appointment due to illness, with the intention of rescheduling. Despite calling more than 24 hours in advance, I was informed of a $50 cancellation fee, a policy that was never mentioned during the booking process or communicated to me prior. The receptionist claimed this was a new policy and insisted on collecting my credit card details to process the fee. Concerned by the lack of transparency and the sudden introduction of this fee, I refused to provide my payment information. The conversation took a turn for the worse when the receptionist threatened to blacklist me from the clinic for disputing the charge. Throughout the exchange, the receptionist's demeanor was rude and unaccommodating, showing no interest in addressing my concerns about the fairness and communication of this new policy. This incident has underscored the importance of clear, upfront communication between healthcare providers and their patients, especially regarding financial policies that may affect them.

Fantastic experience: Shimal Patel is one of the best dentist's I have ever had. She made me feel so comfortable and is very patient. She was attentive and made sure that I had no discomfort or pain as I have sensitive teeth. Always provided the best service with the best customer service. I highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: My, my, my! I simply had to write a review for Dr Shimal Patel. I am an anxious patient and this beautiful lady and her dental assistant go WAY above and beyond to make you comfortable. At my visit today, I became extremely anxious and rather embarrassingly teary. It was not because Dr Shimal was hurting me - it was just my past baggage from dentists in the past coming to haunt me. This incredible lady was reassuring me whilst wiping the tears that were streaming down my face. She did this with such concern, tenderness and kindness. I was blown away with the treatment and care I have received from Dr Shimal. What a beautiful human being she is! She has a lot of good karma coming her way........... Thanks Dr Shimal :-)

Fantastic experience: Visited the clinic this morning. First time at dentist in 5 years due to fear. Was seen by Shimal and Stevie and they were amazing! Made me feel relaxed and comfortable from the get go. Very friendly and personable. Shimal was great always making sure i was comfortable before moving on to next stage. Negative experience: I was a patient of this practice for 13 years. I saw Dr Jon Stephen’s primarily and some of his colleagues on occasion when Jon was on holiday. I was devastated when he retired but the receptionist recommended Shimal to me as she is good with anxious patients. I booked an appointment online and later received a call to say Shimal wasn't available. I said I would wait because she was recommended to me and I am an anxious patient. I was told no and that the young lady I would be seeing is just as good. I went to the appointment knowing nothing about the dentist I was booked to see. She was friendly and had a lovely personality but regrettably she lacked the gentle dentistry I had come to love and expect from this practice. She caused me an excruciating amount of pain and after I left I noticed the back of one of my front teeth had come off. It is now a thin slither and I’ve booked an appointment with another dentist to have it looked at because I’m in absolute shock. In retrospect i should have said the pain was too much but instead I resolved to bear it and never go back. Jon took his time and was gentle. This dentist seemed to care more about efficiency than the welfare of their patient. It took years to overcome my fear of the dentist and Jon helped me achieve that but after one visit that has all been undone. I left teary eyed and drenched in sweat. I will never go back. Steer clear of this place if you want gentle dentistry. Book an appointment if you’re after efficiency.

Then they installed a temporary teeth which was completely unreliable and loosy. I heard that previously Dr. Cox was one of the best but now this clinic's quality is a joke. Fantastic experience: First time visiting Bupa Dental Paddington last month and it was the nicest dentist visit I've ever had. The staff were all so friendly and warm which made everything less stressful, and the clinic has all new rooms & equipment. Definitely recommend.

Negative experience: I visited this practice to have a root canal, instead I was judged that I couldn't afford there service and also that the Orthodontist "wouldn't touch me as I am a smoker". The dentist was extremely opinionated, judging and I felt her professionalism was sub par. I will never go back to this practice. I only tried them because they used to be David Cox and I was satisfied with there service. Waist of time and money. After my experience my whole family have found another dentist and I would suggest you do the same.

Fantastic experience: I used to be afraid of going to the dentist until I found Bupa Dental Paddington. All staff are at the top of their game and determined to make you feel at ease. Also their new clinic at Paddington has the latest equipment and looks great.

Fantastic experience: Hadn't been to the dentist for a few years therefore was very anxious about my visit. My dentist Dr Will Dimento made me feel so relaxed and talked me through the whole process. The nurse Evelyn was also very nice and made my trip to the dentist a lot less stressful.
