Fantastic experience: I visit Perth annually from Denmark, and after my brother recommended this clinic, I saw Dr. Shahid while I was in pain. His approach was outstanding; he is very good, taking the time to discuss the treatment plan and provide clear options. He is highly experienced, and I now trust him exclusively for my dental work during every visit to Perth. A highly recommended dentist for the locals!

Negative experience: Had a root canal done there by Dr Shahid, that took far too many appointments and has since become infected and may be lost. Invisalign as well, parts of the nodules still left on my teeth after the process, have now been removed by my new dentist. Just seem desperate for more money, will always find something wrong. Very untrustworthy, like a bad mechanic

Dr. Qureshi explains if any work needs to be done in great detail. He is very thorough. Infact, he saved my teeth and gums which I appreciate very much!

Negative experience: I had two Invisalign treatment plans with this clinic, and both ended with disappointing and unsatisfactory results. Even though my teeth were still visibly misaligned, the treatment was moved to the retainer phase twice, and I was charged both times. When I raised my concerns about the alignment, I was advised to “polish” my teeth to fix the bite, which did not make sense to me. After continuing to experience soreness and not being able to bite properly, I eventually consulted a qualified orthodontist for a second opinion. The orthodontist confirmed that my results were far from normal and that further correction would be required. The overall experience was extremely frustrating, as I felt my concerns were not taken seriously and the treatment decisions were not properly explained. I am now under the care of a specialist orthodontist to get these issues corrected.

Fantastic experience: I’m honestly never been a fan of dentists, thanks to some childhood dental trauma. However, Dr. Shahid Qureshi is literally the only dentist that actually makes me feel calmer as soon as he walks into the room. I don’t know how he does it, but his friendly, calm, and understanding demeanour instantly put me at ease, and for the first time in my life I actually feel relaxed at the dentist. He is practically invisible when working inside the mouth, and has a variety of methods up his sleeve to avoid any discomfort. I can’t recommend him and the practice enough! I’m not usually one to leave reviews, but I really felt the need to share the positive experiences I’ve had here, particularly involving major dental work like Invisalign. Dr. Shahid Qureshi is one of a kind. Also, the dental hygienist Hannah Zhou is truly lovely too! So friendly and gentle. Thanks South Perth Dental Surgery for completely changing my perspective on dentistry.

Fantastic experience: I just want to give a shout out to the team, especially Dr Hannah who looked after me today! I have to admit I don’t look forward to getting dental work, however whenever I do visit the team at South Perth Dental I always feel so much better and can’t stop smiling afterwards! I regularly go a few times each year for checkups and cleaning. Today Dr Hannah looked after me and she was amazing! I told her how sensitive my teeth are to the cleaning process they use, and she took it on board. She was oh so gentle!!! In fact I didn’t squirm once, which is not like me. She was careful and considerate not to cause any pain. I felt so relaxed!! She also shared important tips to help me continue to keep my great smile, as well as some longer term solutions to some overcrowding teeth I had been concerned about. Big thanks also, to al the staff there who are always friendly and helpful. Can’t say enough wonderful things about them!

Negative experience: I was quoted between $250-$350 for a scale and clean. When it was finished they charged me $379. I told them I had x-rays in the past two years at my dentist however no serious attempt was made to retrieve them. I was pressured into having x-rays again that day. I only visited this dentist for a scale and clean as I’m on extended leave in Perth but usually live in the NW. The scale and clean was one of the most uncomfortable scale and cleans I’ve ever had as the hygienist repeatedly hit my gums with her tools. Following that the Principal Dentist performed his inspection and preceded to tell me how my teeth were not aligned pointing out the teeth he could fix and how I required Invisalign and how much it would improve my bite and smile. I mean I get this is his job and perhaps this is true however I’m regularly complimented on my teeth and smile and don’t want Invisalign but I also can’t afford it, so I told them, I don’t have the money for it. Despite this I felt pressured to do it, and to sign up that day, the dentist telling me he would wave the initial $245 fee which would also come off the following $6500 while standing by the eftpos machine as I was about to pay. I think the cost of living at the moment is affecting everyone so don’t go here unless you want to be pressured into spending a lot of money on having unnecessary treatments.

Fantastic experience: I have been a mature age patient of Dr Qureshi since about June 22. I have been impressed with his planning for the preservation of my remaining teeth in the longer term. In Feb 24 I had some complex work completed of 2 acrylic crowns and an existing denture renovation. The result has seemed beneficial and unproblematic. So well done. He runs a family business and in my view his team deserves community support.

Fantastic experience: Had 2/4 of my wisdom teeth removed, and what would usually be a scary experience, was very quick, easy and painless. The dental team took great care and i woke up with no swelling or pain the next day. I will be back in 2 weeks to get other two out.

Negative experience: My daughter had a traumatic experience last Friday at the hands of a new Dentist at this practice. She was given drugs to calm her and which resulted in her being completely knocked out for more than 24 hours. She was unable to leave the surgery on her own feet and was literally dragged into my car by 3 staff. The lack of care shown was disgraceful - and they insisted I pay the account before she left. I've been chasing the owner of the business for a week now and still been unable to discuss the issue. Never again.
