I expected my 4 year old son to struggle to cooperate, but Lily was wonderful with him- she knew exactly how to keep him engaged and calm in the chair. Fantastic experience: One of if not THE BEST experiences dealing with a dentist !!!!! Dr Kyriakos Tambassis and his team were absolutely wonderful. It was 7.15pm I was in a lot of pain and my sister said try find a dentist who might be open ( I honestly thought no one would be ) this is where I came across Smile Sanctuary Mortdale Dental. I ring and Dr Kyriakous takes the call and although they had one more patient to see he fit me in. I'm sorry it's a long review but not only were they accommodating but to add to my pain I am a very anxious person when it comes to going to the dentist. On arriving I was taken in to get X-rays with what was the most advanced equipment I've seen a very clean and beautiful facility . The staff were professional, friendly and made me feel at ease straightaway, Dr Kyriakos Tambassis had to then deal with me in the chair totally panicked and anxious about the needle, he was so lovely, patient and caring he somehow managed to reassure me and took the time I needed to feel a little relaxed. This whole experience was so positive and I am so grateful for it. The fact that they have late trading 3 days a week and even trade till 1 pm on a Sunday is just brilliant because you can't always schedule a toothache lol. I so highly recommend Smile Sanctuary Mortdale Dental and lucky for me my dentist is retiring and I no longer have to find a new dentist I can trust. Thank you thank you thank you ❤️❤️❤️

Fantastic experience: I will never go anywhere else for dental services. The most beautiful bunch of people I have ever encountered. I have a bit of nervousness when it comes to dentists but I felt so looked after the entire time from the second I stepped in the door and did not experience a single moment of nerves. They are incredibly thorough and informative through the whole checkup process, before and after. Professional and obviously knowledgeable in their craft. They offer music or tv during your appointment if you need distractions and were understanding about a jaw issue of mine that might have needed breaks in between treatments. Constantly checking in and caring throughout. Lily was very gentle in her treatment and a beautiful person. The atmosphere of the whole practice was calm, inviting and super friendly. Definitely recommend to everyone, especially people who have a few nerves surrounding dentists visits.

Fantastic experience: Thank you for my daughter’s appointment! Initially she was scared but the thorough checks and warm atmosphere made be feel calm and at ease. The post appointment report was also very informative She keeps talking about the brushing dinosaur and it really helped show her how to brush her teeth- keeps asking me to take her back to the dentist!

Negative experience: I don’t usually leave negative reviews, especially for new businesses, but I felt it was important to share my experience to balance out the numerous 5-star ratings. I visited Smile Sanctuary in mid May after moving to the area and reading lots of glowing reviews, but I found the experience very disappointing. Right from the start, I felt uncomfortable. Several staff – including the receptionist, dental tech and dentist – made comments about my height. I’m around 6ft 3 (192cm), so no giant, but being singled out for something physical felt awkward and unnecessary, especially at a place that prides itself on making people feel at ease. The overall experience felt more like a wellness showroom than a dental clinic. I was asked what music I liked (then was laughed at when I said I didn’t know), what I wanted to watch on the screen, offered a heated eye mask, and so on. It felt like a gimmick. I was told my blood pressure was high, which understandably really worried me. I even bought a home monitor afterward and have never had a high reading since. It felt more like part of a sales setup than a genuine health check. The dentist seemed quite distracted and in a rush, with company reps or guests waiting in the reception area. After the check-up, he told me I had severe gum disease and needed multiple treatments costing $1500–$1800. He said I'd be sold a new toothbrush from the clinic, without asking what kind I used. He noted some cavities but said they could wait until after the gum treatments – effectively making this dental work conditional on spending nearly $2k. I’ve since returned to my long-time dentist in the Inner West due to some new discomfort. She immediately found a large cavity that should have been filled back in May. She treated it easily for $340 and said if it had gone any longer, I may have needed a root canal. She also said I had mild to moderate gum disease, but nothing that required multiple appointments or extensive treatment. If you’re after matching shoes and spa-style distractions, this might be your place. But if you want straightforward dental care, honest communication and no hard sell, I’d strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: A great experience from the moment I stepped through the door. The team at Smile Sanctuary made me feel at ease throughout my teeth whitening experience. I had the Opalescence treatment done, and achieved an outstanding result. Highly recommend if you’re new to having your teeth whitened. Dr Kyriakos thoroughly took me through the process, capturing my teeth shade to compare the before and after results, and ensuring I was comfortable at all times.

Fantastic experience: Dentists are never a fun place to visit, but Smile Sanctuary did everything they could to create a positive experience, with Netflix and a soothing eye massager during my clean. It was a very thorough examination, using a lot of high tech equipment! The dentist was very kind and professional and explained everything very well. She answered all my questions and I felt very satisfied with my visit!

Fantastic experience: Amazing staff who are so caring and understanding. Currently 8months pregnant and called needing an emergency tooth removal. They were able to fit me in last minute, took all of my concerns to heart and put me at ease making sure that everything that was done was safe for me and also my baby. The care taken has also been shown in how well the healing process has gone and in the email I received 2 days post procedure checking in to see how things were healing. Highly recommend and will most certainly be back.

The owners have gone above and beyond to make this a family friendly business, even as far as wife Deanna offering to watch my daughter whilst I had my filling completed. In the chair, the dentists ensure you're pain free, and love a yarn which puts your mind at ease. My husband and I haven't been able to attend a dentist check up since Covid - so developed some anxiety returning. Stumbling upon smile sanctuary was such a lucky find, we've felt very comforted during our visits. We'll definitely be return customers, highly recommend this business

Fantastic experience: I had my first appointment with Dr Tambassis last week and had a great experience. The practice is new and exceptionally clean. A thorough examination and consultation was provided and teeth clean included. All the staff are professional and kind. Dr Tambassis continually checked in with me around feeling anxious and how to make me feel.comfortable and calm. I am very pleased I chose this practice and will continue my dental treatments there. After having poor experiences with many dentisits it is like finding a gem in my local area. 5 stat's.

Fantastic experience: Very professional, caring and thorough dental services. The initial service included a detailed consultation, including x-rays, 3D scans and photos of my mouth to ensure the dentist was fully up to speed on the condition of my teeth. The level of care I was given made me feel like I mattered as a person and not just patient. Everything was explained to me through the journey and options provided. The space is shiny new, with all modern and state of the art equipment and it felt like a true sanctuary for all dental requirements. As an added bonus, I was asked before the consultation what my preference for music was (for headphones) as well as what movie would I like to watch (on the tv above) - what a bonus when you don't want to hear the drills etc! When I walked into the surgery room, a tv on the wall even welcomed me with my name. While these may be insignificant gestures to some, it shows the level of thought, care and detail that is provided to each patient. I was so very impressed with the whole experience and would highly recommend Smile Sanctuary at Mortdale.

Fantastic experience: Moving from the UK and having had my dentist for 6 years I was quite nervous seeing a new dentist however safe to say I have my new Dentist now, Dr Kyri and his team are amazing. I was talked through everything and given the option to or not to be informed. I had the option to watch netflix or have an eye messager with my choice of music playing through it (great distraction technique and i loved it), my tooth was out in less then 5 mins and I didnt feel a thing!. They have a screen to watch Netflix above the chair, or they give you the option of listening to music and/or have a heated eye massage mask. My first appointment consultation- They did a full check, scans/X-rays and clean; but what completed my positive & amazing visit here - was that my first appointment was all covered by their gap free deal if you have health cover - so I didn’t have to pay anything even though I usually pay a % amount with my AHM cover. Fantastic experience: I’ve had some quite scarring experiences with overconfident male dentists before, but Dr. Kyriakos was very friendly, gentle, and took the time to explain everything and answer all my questions thoroughly. He seems so passionate about his job which left me feeling confident with the comprehensive care I received today. I will be coming back and referring to friends and family

Fantastic experience: Dr. Kyriakos Tambassis was friendly and extremely thorough performing my check up and cleaning. He explained the outcome of the check up and his various recommendations clearly so we have a plan moving forward. The clinic was also very clean, comfortable, and elegant. I was very impressed and I feel lucky to have such a great clinic opened in my neighborhood. If I ever move I will make the drive to come back. Highly recommended to anyone needing any dental services.

Fantastic experience: If only a trip to the dentist was like this when I was a child! I was absolutely thrilled with our first experience visiting Smile Sanctuary! With a highly anxious 9 year old who hadn't been for a dental checkup since starting primary school, I was slighly apprehensive about the appointment and whether my son would willingly cooperate with what would be required of him From first walking in to such a calming entrance/waiting area, the experience was incredibly positive from start to finish. The team were amazing - so lovely and patient, taking the time to explain everything to us and making sure my son was comfortable every step of the way. I'm so grateful his first dentist experience was such positive one - upon leaving he said he was so excited call family to tell them about it. (the Netflix on the ceiling and the 3d scan was a winner) We have scheduled a further appointment to discuss potential orthodontic treatment needed. Thank you so much Smile Sanctuary!

Fantastic experience: We had a wonderful experience at Smile Sanctuary. The space itself has been so well thought out; it felt more like a spa than a dental clinic and has a really calming vibe. For kids at the beginning of their dental routines it was really important that the experience be a positive one and Kyri and Daniella did just that. We chose our fave Netflix show (or could have played music too!) during the check up. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: Dentists are not my favourite place but Dr Kyriakos made the treatment very comfortable. He explains everything very clearly and uses the latest technology to ensure nothing is missed. His wholistic health approach is refreshing and the added touch of having my blood pressure and oxygen levels measured was a bonus! Add an eye and head massage and I almost forgot I was at the dentist. The offices are fresh and inviting. Deanna and the front office staff are very friendly. Great job guys, I will be back in 6 months.

Fantastic experience: The most thorough dentist we’ve ever been to. My kids, almost 10, have never had a dental x-ray let alone a 3D scan. We came out of the appointment with lots of insights about their teeth as well as recommendations regarding their general health for us to investigate. Dr. Tambassis, Deanna and Marina were all extremely patient with my kids who are scared of dentists, making the experience for me and them so much easier. Also, the clinic is very modern and clean. We will definitely be going back!

Fantastic experience: Smile Sanctuary is a very beautiful environment to go to for a dentist. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. The overall dentistry experience was the best I have ever had. Great new technology, professional and very caring team who explained everything along the way. I would highly recommend visiting this team and seeing what going to the dentist is all about. By the way get the eye massage while having your treatment. Will be going back for my 6 monthly check up’s for sure.
