Fantastic experience: I booked in to see Rachael Clem after being shamed by another dentist for "poor oral hygiene" and told that if I did not fix my gum issues it would become systemic and could cause cancer. Rachael was empathetic and understanding of my tiring 6 years as a sleep-deprived mumma of 3 who had not put her needs first in a while and reassured me we could get my mouth back on track in no time. Her treatment plan was also well over half the cost of the other dentist. I feel confident that I am cared for and will be treated with compassion and complete professionalism with Rachael. Thank you for helping to take away some of my anxiety over visiting dentists. :-)

Fantastic experience: My visit was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I initially came in for a tooth removal, thinking it was the only solution for my swollen gum. However, the Dr Alannah and her assistants were incredibly professional and gentle, explaining that a full extraction wasn't necessary. They clearly walked me through the issue, outlining the various treatment and filling options available. I felt completely informed and at ease throughout the entire process, from the initial consultation to the treatment itself. Their care and communication were truly exceptional.

Negative experience: Don’t come to this dentist. I’ve been coming to Dent8 since I was a kid, but clearly customer loyalty doesn’t mean much to them anymore. Only money does. That’s right, just opening your mouth will cost you $65. Since April, I’ve been here five times because they couldn’t do the job properly. I originally came in for a small chip in my tooth caused by martial arts. Repairing such a small chip cost me over $580, only for it to fall out within a month. So I had it repaired again, and just a day later, it came out once more. I spoke to one of the receptionists, who had an arrogant tone, and was told I would be billed again for a job that hadn’t even been done properly. How does that make sense to any reasonable person? I was later told that I would receive a full credit towards seeing Dr Oleg, who, to be fair, was terrific. But what they didn’t tell me was that the credit only covered $280 for the restoration, not the other charges like the $90 consultation and oral examination. I was also pushed into getting a mouthguard for sport. I was told it would cost $120, but it ended up being $210. Dr Oleg was honest and straightforward with me, which was a refreshing change of pace considering how bad the customer service had been. He told me there was no point inserting dental bonding and that only an occlusal splint was needed. I don’t understand why this wasn’t the first solution. The splint alone cost me $700, and even after applying the $280 credit, I was still left with a final charge of $477. I’ve been taken for a ride. I’ve been overcharged, misled, and treated poorly. And to top it off, they were 25 minutes late for every single appointment. Do not come here unless you enjoy wasting your money and having your Bupa used up for nothing.

Fantastic experience: Always a wonderful experience at Dent8 :) I used to rarely visit the dentist, and now attend my check ups yearly, and with joy. Thank you to the beautiful dentists who make the whole process as psychologically pain-free as possible.

Negative experience: No difference between holistic and ordinary dentists. Their policy is to drill, fill and bill. Last visit was horrific and my child couldn't eat for 2 days because she was afraid that her teeth would get rotten. That was huge stress for me as I always fought to gain weight with her (she is still a tiny, fragile girl). Here is the whole story: After we entered the room, I politely asked one of the dentists if she could use a camera to check my daughter's teeth. She was very surprised and asked me for a reason. I said that, in my opinion, poking teeth with a dental probe could potentially leave microscopic holes and cause the need for more fillings in 6 months' time. The dentist said that it was absolutely impossible. They stated as well that they couldn't do a thorough checkup due to my requirement. I asked them again if they would be so kind as to use the camera (Diagnocam) for early detection of tooth decay only. Diagnocam was the main reason why we came such a long distance to Dent8.Finally, they agreed, but were visibly shaken to the point that their hands were trembling during my daughter's examination. It looked like I touched the deepest secret of dentistry, that caused the dentist's reaction. During the visit my 12 year old heard from the dentist (and their assistant) that her teeth would fall out, that she would have an infection and suffer from toothache if she left her teeth untreated.I realise that my daughter has decay in her 2 molars and they must be sorted out, sooner or later. However, this is my child, and as her mother, I would like to decide how and when she needs that treatment. Of course, I always take advice from the experts, professional and qualified staff and I'm very grateful for all tips. My daughter was threatened with losing her teeth and traumatised by comments from the dentist and the assistant. At the end of the visit, I apologised to both for any inconvenience that my request caused. The dentist stated that in their 42 years' career they had never had a client like me. I thought to myself that a person with such a huge amount of experience should have examined and diagnosed teeth even without looking (I'm joking now). To be honest, it was never my intention to offend anyone. I'm an easy going person with a big dose of tolerance and understanding of others` views (or attitudes, behaviours etc.), but sometimes certain things must be said. If you're a caring parent, avoid this place called Dent8. They don't care about patients at all, but money. If you want to save your child from stress try "no drill dentistry" (not the best option for those who avoid fluoride) in Sunshine Coast practice, Diagnocam is also available there. They are kind and make no fuss about parents' requirements. Also, look for information about "arrested cavity" and you will know that cavities or decay can be healed and teeth have the ability to regrow and rebuild themselves (not just coconut or sesame seed oil pulling can do that but many other remedies). In the end, Weston price book is highly recommended too. PS: I wrote twice about the whole incident to the owner of the practice but was totally ignored. Ewelina W.

Fantastic experience: We returned home late last night from our first visit to Dent8 and I just have to write a review. My first contact (and every contact after) with Dent8 on the phone when making an amalgam removal appointment for my husband was nothing but positive, efficient and caring. I then accompanied my husband when we travelled to Brisbane for the removal of his amalgams. We both had actually been dreading having this done but the whole job was completed over two days and the caring, considerate and proficient way everything was done was just incredible. There ended up being a surprising huge bonus for me as well. On the first day I had decided to get some quick advice for myself from Alannah on a crack in my denture. The next morning before my husband's second appointment she got me in the chair and checked out my denture! She had already contacted her technician to get his suggestions and before I knew it an impression was taken, my denture picked up and I had it back repaired in the afternoon! All because Alannah cared enough to take the time to check it out and see what could be achieved in the short time we were down there. My husband is very happy with his new fillings and feels great today. We are both well into our 70's and have never experienced service like this before. There were three visits over the two days and as I waited for my husband, I had the opportunity to get to know some of the team a little, and to make plenty of observations. At no time could I fault the efficient, yet caring manner of the whole team. It just felt 'good' to be there. It's seems strange to say this but we almost felt sad to leave; it was almost like leaving family. Apologies for the long post but cannot say enough good things about Alannah and her team. Fantastic experience: Dr Alannah and her team are great. Have never felt this comfortable visiting a dentist. I generally get anxiety when I have a dental visit but Dr Alannah's calm nature puts me at ease. I have been here twice now to get my amalgam fillings replaced. She even gave my teeth a clean and quick checkup without charging me any extra. And also the text message the next day to see everything was well and no issues with the work done on the previous day. Thank you Dr Alannah for giving a high level of service at a reasonable price and the care you show for your patience. Highly recommend this place.

Fantastic experience: Probably one the best Dental practices in Brisbane. A welcome and refreshing change from the normal run of the mill ‘health fund ran’ places. They do proper assessments and don’t just milk you for the money. I had a qoute from a bupa place to replace 4 fillings when in fact I only really needed one. What I probably appreciated most is their approach ‘to first do no harm’ rather than just doing fillings for the sake of it. Thanks Rachael and Georgia!
