Bupa Dental Ballarat

Negative experience: I should’ve written this review a long time ago but have been dealing with the impact of what has been done to my teeth. I was subjected to unnecessary filling replacements that were not done properly. I was told that their equipment was not working correctly. This work all had to be replaced and also shifted my teeth creating gaps that did not exist before, and that I will now have to pay out of pocket to have fixed. But worst of all was the gaslighting and the dismissive attitudes of both the dentist who did the work, and her colleague that I saw after I started experiencing excruciating sinus pain. I was told it was all in my head and that it was due to seasonal allergies, despite having never suffered from hay fever in my life. I was told that my newly created issues were too hard for them to deal with. After months of having to take pain relief whenever I ate anything colder than room temperature I went elsewhere and had to undergo two expensive root canals. I still need further work done to fix what was done to me. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had.

Positive experience: First visit here . The male dentist infirst saw I must be honest could of said hello and introduced himself. I kinda felt a little uncomfortable from that and was slightly condescending. Probably just old school. Communication a bit ordary. Dr Anjeli was lovely and very helpful.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had a fantastic experience with Dr Hajira. The staff are very welcoming, professional, and make me feel completely at ease. The clinic is clean, modern, and well-organised. Dr Hajira took the time to explain each step of every treatment I was having clearly, was incredibly gentle, and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. It’s clear the whole team genuinely care about their patients' well-being. I highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for high-quality dental care in Ballarat.

Fantastic experience: Today I took my kiddo (6) who has had a lot anxiety around dental appointments to see Dr Anjali for the first time. Aided by her calm assistant, Gemma, Dr Anjali was calm and reassuring to kiddo who is neurodiverse. Kiddo came out of the appointment very happy and relaxed. We have booked in their next appointment with Dr Anjali, on the basis of this experience.

Positive experience: Clean modern dentist practice. Dentist was informative, careful and seemed to do a good job. The lovely dentist nurses and admin ladies were very helpful.

Negative experience: 3 times cancellations in 3 weeks. They called in the morning of the appointment day. Very bad experience but I need them.

Negative experience: Shame a lot of the perfect reviews are from people in management or owners as it takes away from the actual low level of care you receive at this clinic from a particular male provider. The female dentists are lovely. Assistants treated horribly in front of patients by certain provider. I don’t recommend this dental clinic to anyone unfortunately. Please look carefully at the biased, untruthful 5 star reviews….

Negative experience: Every time I call to make an appointment no one ever answers the phone always rings out has happened on multiple different occasions with the 1300 number also. left voice mails on both numbers with no call backs for days. Then tried to book online saw I couldn't even book with my dentist as only one dentist name was coming up.

Fantastic experience: I am really thankful to have found Bupa Dental. Dr Kalisa is fantastic and I have found all the staff to be very helpful and friendly. Dr Kalisa is very professional and checks in with me during my dental work to see that I'm going OK and gives me a break if I need it. The facility is modern and spotlessly clean. It is also very easy to claim my Bupa rebate on the spot.

Negative experience: Paid for an hour of service, only took half hour to complete filling. Asked to have teeth checked for cavities to be told they would do a full examination next time. Should’ve been done during the same visit. Won’t be back.

Positive experience: Kalisa is a great dentist. The appointment was running a bit late but I was happy overall.

Fantastic experience: The surgery is modern, clean and very well resourced. The people working there are polite and courteous. The dentist was excellent. The cost seemed to be lower than that of other dentists, plus the Bupa rebate was generous. I was very happy with my visit.

Negative experience: Booked in to get a filling done after hours. Nobody at reception to greet me. Sat there for a while and was ignored. Finally someone came and got me in to see the dentist. Top work from the dentist. Wish I could give them 5 stars. When I booked in again for some work online a nice lady called me and told me I was banned from this practice because the clinical staff could not meet my expectations... ummm what...

Negative experience: The worst experience my partner has ever had at a dentist or any health professional, she came home still visibly shaken. From the appalling service of front desk to the absolute condescension and bullying by the dentist, this clinic is a farce. I have now heard similar expressions of the bullying tactics from friends that had used their services. How does a health professional get away treating people this way, not discounting the sales tactics of a charlatan. Be wary of any review given more than one star.

Negative experience: Absolutely horrible experience! I have never had a problem with dentists until going to this one! He was so rude and treated his staff horribly, it has seriously put me off going to any dentist again! My husband, children and I would never use this dentist again! We only used there because it was a bupa dentist but even the prices they charged were that astronomical that I would rather go to a non bupa preferred dentist and get a minimal amount back as our out of pocket would still be the same. He was a horrible man with a shocking bedside manner!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I were travelling when I discovered a cracked tooth. We were in Ballarat so I went to Wendouree Dental to have it checked out. I was very impressed to find I could get the tooth crowned the same day. Dr Schocroft, his nurses and all staff were very courteous and professional. Dr Schocroft told me all the options available and also what he recommended. It was probably the best (and painless) experience you could ever have at a Dentist!
